Well he can't sleep at night
And he can't do what's right
It was all because she came into his life
It's a deep obsession, taking up his time

Chorus:
She's all that he wants, she's all the he needs
She's everything he just won't believe
Take away his doubt, turn him inside out
Then she can see what he's been dying to say
but things don't always turn out that way

And he must confess
All the impure thoughts of his beautiful temptress
Although he keeps it all bottled up inside
Although he keeps it all safe within his mind, oh yeah

Chorus
She's all that he wants, she's all the he needs
She's everything he just won't believe
Take away his doubt, turn him inside out
Then she can see what he's been dying to say
but things don't always turn out that way

So wipe that smile off your face
Before it gets too late
There's only so much time
For you to make up your mind

She's all that he wants, she's all the he needs
She's everything he just won't believe
Take away his doubt, turn him inside out
Then she can see what he's been dying to say
but things don't always turn out that way

Michael Guerin sat on the park bench, the dust from the disintegrated flowers still in his hands. Something had to be wrong with his hearing. What had Maria said to him before she walked away? She wanted to break up with him.

Slowly, Michael got up and began to walk away, streetlights exploding in his wake. It was always like this when he was upset, he couldn’t control his powers. Michael sometimes felt like his entire life was a mistake. There wasn’t anything he did right. Liz’s father was pissed because he missed so many shifts at the crashdown; he was still screwing up and school, and now this with Maria. He just didn’t understand how she could do this to him. She said she gave up so much for him. What about what he have up. He gave up his WORLD for her. The one thing he had been working for all his life, a chance to go home, and he gave it up for her. Why didn’t she see that?

Michael existed, that was all that could be said for the life he was living. He didn’t do much of anything except for work and go home, work and go home. He did help Max “paint” Isabelle and Jesse’s apartment. Max was pushing him to get out and do something so he tried golfing, and looking how well that turned out. He almost blew it for all of them. He couldn’t stop thinking about Maria; she was the end all and be all of his existence. Why couldn’t she see that. He didn’t want to stop her from pursuing her dreams; he just wanted to go along for the ride.

He tried so hard to be the boyfriend he wanted, but he just couldn’t get it right. He tried being like Max and that didn’t work, he tried being himself and that really didn’t work. Finally, when he thought he was getting her out of his system, she shows up at his apartment. She was all over him, and he couldn’t or wouldn’t stop her, he still wasn’t sure himself. He was so certain things were going to be better between them when Bam she tossed him out on his proverbial ass. “It didn’t change anything between them,” she said.
Well, excuse me, after a night of mind numbing sex, what was he supposed to think.

So, now she was gone and Michael Guerin was alone, again. Perhaps that was how it was supposed to be, things don’t always turn out the way you want them.
