Summary: Basically the title. Liz and Maria are friends. Max, Michael, Alex, Tess, Isabe, and Kyle work at the hotel. Jim owns it.
Feedback: Any comments, complaints, questions, are all necessary! So please let me know.

Liz's parents had brought Liz and Maria on another fun-filled trip. They usually did something fun and outdoorsy, but this time Liz and Maria weren't so lucky. Liz's parents decided to go to Valenti's.

It was kind of like a camp. There was horseback riding, comedy shows in the lounge or as some people called it, "The Central House." There were campsites, cabins and mini hotels surrounding it. And in the West wing, the mini one roomed homes for the employees.

Mr. Valenti and her parents had been friends way back in high school. Ever sense Valenti had been successful, he had been trying to get the Parkers up. Finally Mr. Parker had given in and decided to give Valenti's a try.

Once they had gotten to Valenti's they were greeted with Mr. Valenti himself. "Jeff! So I finally got you to my hotel, huh?" Mr. Valenti bellowed.

"So you did. Jim, you remember my wife Nancy, our doughter Liz and her friend Maria whom is like our very own, don't you?" Mr. Parker asked.

"Of course, of course!" Jim stated. Turning to the girls he added, "Ya know girls, If it wasn't for Jeff here I wouldn't be standing here to day!"

Considering her dad was a doctor, for the first time sense they had arrived, Liz spoke up, "O? How wonderful." And Maria just kept smiling.

A young man of about 19 just Maria and Liz's age came up to Mr. Valenti. "You guys, this is Alex, he'll be around to help you all if you need anything." Jim said as Alex smile and nodded to each of them. Then Jim snapped his fingers and pointed to the trunk of the Parker's car. Maria and Liz walked over to help Alex unload the luggage while Jeff, Nancy and Jim stayed talking.

"Hey," Alex laughed, "you two want a job here?" He asked the two girls.

"Anything to keep us busy." Maria stated.

Alex laughed. "Yeah I'd have to agree with that one. I know that if I weren't a worker here I'd be bored out of my mind."

"Any suggestion?" Maria asked.

"Well, there's always dancing lessons." Alex said.

"Dancing lessons?" Liz asked.

"Yeah you know, the Mambo, Cha-cha, stuff like that." Alex said while unloading the last of the luggage.

"Hmm ... sounds like fun." Liz said.

**************

"C'mon ladies! God didn't give you shoulders if he didn't want you to ssshhhaaakkkeee 'em!" The dance instructor, Isabel, yelled above the music. She was trying to show a group of hopeless beginners a couple of simple steps and was getting absolutely no where. "Okay ladies, when I say go I want you to find the man of your dreams. GO!" Liz went for her father to find he was already taken by Isabel. She ended up with an elderly woman. Maria on the other hand ended up with a handsome instructor.

After the lesson it started to rain so the girls made they're way to their cabin early. Liz's parents had a cabin of their own down the path. "So Maria, I saw you dancing with that instructor. Very cute if I do say so myself. "Liz teased.

"Liz, NO! Don't even think it! He was just an instructor!" Maria insisted.

"Yeah, just an instructor, I think you learned the most! Did you even get his name?"

"No. But I'm sick of talking about this so I'm gunna go to sleep."

"MARIA! It's noon."

"Then a nap then."

Liz rolled her eyes as she turned on the t.v. and let Maria take her "nap".

When Maria woke up she asked, "What time is it?"

"About 4:00-o-clock. And you better hurry because I just talked to my dad and he said we had to be ready for dinner and a dance afterwards in less than a half an hour."

"Awe man.... Okay I'll be ready."

When the girls were finally ready, It was 10 minutes before the dinner house opened. They were walking up when they heard Mr. Valenti yelling at some of his employee's.

"Now, I want you all to be on your best behavior." Jim said as 2 men and 2 women came in the room form what must have been the back way. One of the men was the one Maria had been dancing with earlier, tall, brown hair, gray eyes, buff. The other man was only what Liz could describe as beautiful. He had dark dark brown hair, brown eyes that she could jump into and swim in forever, and he was built. If she wasn't leaning against the door her knees would probably give out. Both of the women were blonde. Alex was staring at the one with the long blonde hair.

"Got that Evans? Teach the girls how to dance, nothing else. They're just your age, SO KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF!" And with that Jim stormed out of the room.

"Can you handle that Max? Keep your hands off?" A waiter asked.

"You just do your job Grant, leave the hard stuff to me." Max said with a snarl.

With that Max, and the other three went towards the exit Liz and Maria were standing at. Max flung the door back and hit Liz in the face with the door.

"Ow!" Liz yelped in pain.

"O I'm sorry!" Max yelled. It wasn't until he had looked up to see what he had hit when he honestly felt sorry.

Thank you everybody for your feedback! It's really great to know that you guys liked it, so thanx. ; )

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part 2
"It's all right. I'll live." Liz said laughing.
"No really. Let me make it up to you." Max pleaded.
"Well, you could watch it next time." Liz laughed, "But hey, no harm done. At least nothing's broken. Maybe I'll have a little bumb, but nothing more."
"A little bump, on that beautiful face? I don't think so. Let me make it up to you. How about free dance lessons."
"Well..."
Michael rolled his eyes and laughed. It wasn't every day that Max ran into a girl he liked but he was really going all out on it this time. Usually he would just say sorry and walk off. Max was never know to sit and flirt.
Maria knew that she danced with the guy laughing. 'Now comes the part to actually talk to him.' She thought. 'Well here it goes.'
"What's so funny?" Maria asked. 'Great, real conversation starter Maria!'
"Nothing."
'Okay um... rude' She thought but brushed it off.
"Your the guy I danced with earlier, right?"
"What about it?"
"O great! I'm Maria and you are?"
"Late."
"Huh?"
"I have to go." Maria just looked at him.
"Michael, it's Michael."
"Michael? Well Michael, I'm glad to have met you."
"Yeah whatever."
'Um... okay, VERY RUDE!'
"Yeah whatever? That's all you have to say!?" Maria asked who was now ferious.
"Look lady..."
"IT'S MARIA!"
"Whatever. I have more important things to worry about than your name at the moment. I have to work to eat. I have to earn it. And right now, well right now I ain't earning nothing. So here's what I'm gunna do. I'm going to go now and pray I can eat this week." And with that, Michael walked off.
'Omigod, any more rude and I'd be blowing flames out of my nostrals!'
"Liz I'll meet you in the dinning room."
"O..Okay" Liz stuttered.
Maria walked away.
"So that's your name? Liz? I'm Max. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hi Max. The pleasures all mine."
"No I can assure you it's mine."
Liz blushed.
"Well I have to go, but if you could, I'd like you and your friend to meet me here tomorrow so we can hook up for those dance lessons." Max suggested
"Sure. Noon?"
"Noon it is." Max kissed Liz's cheek and headed off in the direction of Michael. Liz stood with her hand on the cheek he kissed until he was out of her view then she headed inside.
~INSIDE DINNING ROOM~
By the time Maria had walked in, she found Liz's parents, Jim abd another guy about Maria and Liz's age. She found two empty seats and sat in the one clostest to Liz's mom. The younger guy looked eager about something so she didn't want to be seated next to him. Besides if he tried anything, Liz would know how to let him down gently. She on the other hand would most likely make a scene.
About five minutes later, Liz came in and took her expected seat in between Maria and the new guy. "Liz, so glad you decided to join us!" Jeff spoke loud and cheerfully. 'Uh oh. He's up to something.'
"Liz darling this is Kyle, Jim's son. Kyle, Liz. Liz, Kyle." Jeff made the introductions.
"HI! I'm SO glad to have FINALLY met you!" Kyle spoke in an almost childish tone as he gave her a hug.
'No Dad!' Liz thought. 'Not this, not now!'
"Uh... yeah." Liz responded, her mind in another demention.
Thanx again for the feedback. And your right it was too short. So if it's gunna be another shorty, I'll be sure to warn ya.
~~~~~~~~~~~

"Uh... Earth to Liz!" Maria yelled.
"Um... excuse me, I have to use the restroom." Liz excused her self while giving Maria a GET-UP-AND-COME-WITH-ME-NOW look.
"Yeah, me too." Maria put on a front.
~LADIES ROOM~
"Liz, Chicka, Babe, what's up? You've been spacy all night, well sense you back in from talking to that guy. What happened anyways?"
"Maria, I thought you'd never ask. Okay, when you were talking to that one guy, well sort'a arguing, flirting, WHATEVER..."
~Max and Liz's Conversation~
"No really. I want to make it up to you. How about free dance lessons?"
"Well... that could be fun. I've always wanted to learn to dance."
"Great, it's settled then."
"When did you learn to dance?"
"Well I grew up in New York. My mom owned a dance studio. I always loved to dance. My mom noticed my passion and talent for it when I was about four. Ever sense after that, when I got home from school, she would always teach me for an hour. After that I would go up stairs, do my homework or whatever else I had to get done and I would pratice whatever she tought me that day."
"What do you mean you would go upstairs?"
"Well we lived at the studio. There were three stories. The first floor was the studio, the second was for the kitchen, bathroom, livingroom ect. and the third was for sleeping arangments. But what about you. Where do come from, what do you do?"
"I live in Roswell, New Mexico. I work as a waitress at Maria's mom's diner, The Crashdown Cafe."
"So, Roswell, New Mexico. That's the place I have to thank for giving you your natural beauty and a great tan. What's your name anyways?"
"O...uh...um...yeah...it's...um" She didn't have a chance to finish because Maria had inturpted her.
"Liz I'll meet you in the dinning room."
"O..Okay" Liz stuttered.
Maria walked away.
"So that's your name? Liz? I'm Max. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hi Max. The pleasures all mine."
"No I can assure you it's mine."
Liz blushed.
"Well I have to go, but if you could, I'd like you and your friend to meet me here tomorrow so we can hook up for those dance lessons." Max suggested
"Sure. Noon?"
"Noon it is." Max kissed Liz's cheek and headed off in the direction of Michael. Liz stood with her hand on the cheek he kissed until he was out of her view then she headed inside.
~Back To Realality~
"Woah, so he kissed your cheek? You guys just met!" Maria said.
"I know, I know. But what happened with that guy?"
"Well, his name's Michael but...."
Maria told Liz all that was said between her and Michael.
"Wow, he just walked off?"
"Yeah basically. Well, we better get back to the dinning room. Diner was being served as we left ya know."
"It was?"
"Uh... yeah. You were Probabally to zoned out to notice."
"Yeah, I know. But my advice to you is to forget about Michael. That waiter Grant was checking you and if I'm not mistaken, you all were making some eye contact."
"Yeah I know," Maria blushed, "so, your too zoned out to talk to Kyle but are there enough to see me and Grant?: Maria asked get more embarressed by the moment. Liz laughed she didn't have to answer she knew Maria alreadt knew the answer. Suddenly Liz stopped laughing.
"What?!" Maria asked.
"I can't hook up with Kyle, what amI gunna do?"
"Well, I'd say to go out there and don't look at him, don't talk to him, don't even let on that you know he exisits. He's sure to get the hint."
"And if he doesn't?"
"He will... trust me!"

Okay, I'd like to start off with a big ole apoligy. I realize I haven't up dated in a while...I'm sorry. I reallly, really wanna give thanks to those of you for the feedback. And so, without further ado, I give to you.... Dirty Dancing: A ROSWELL TWIST pt.4!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part 4
After their little 'bathroom break' the girls decided that they were over due in the dinning room.
"Girls, how nice of you to join us." Jeff remarked. The girls smiled.
"Oh I know," Kyle started, "it almost makes you wonder what they were d.....ooufgh!" Kyle cried out in pain, he wasn't able to finish the sentance because he was being kicked in the shin by Jim.
Liz rolled her eyes. 'How child like of you to say something like that Kyle. Uh, a raise of hands to anyone that was shocked that a foolish little man would say such a foolish little thing? Hmm... intresting, no show of hands in here.'
Liz looked at the look given between Jim and Kyle. Jim was obviously trying to get Kyle to do something when Kyle stood up and pulled out Liz's chair. Liz looked up at Kyle then down at the chair and back up to Kyle, she then took the seat next to her mother and left Kyle standing there with his jaw dropped.
'Okay... Liz. That's how it is? I try to be nice and all. I even give you a hug when we met, just like I was told. You wanna be a wench? Fine with me. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I didn't even want to be here. I would much rather be with Tess.' Kyle looked up from his thoughts and saw a blonde curly haired girl who walked in with the other dancers. 'Speak of the devil. Dude she looks like a bottle of mixed emotions ready to explode. Something must be wrong. I'll talk to her tonight, see what is the matter.' Just as he finished his thoughts, Tess looked at him and caught his gaze. He smiled as did she in return.
Maria saw this whole thing unravel before her eyes. 'Figures,' she thought, 'go for Miss. Blonde Bimbo. You don't even see a good thing when it's right in front of you. Calling all blondes, preferably hussies, man is on the prowl. Kyle Valenti, he man boob lover.' Maria rolled her eyes in complete disghust. 'Sorry sist'a' she thought reffering to Liz, 'Ah well, ya never liked him anyways.'
"Ahem!" Jim cleared his throat. There was obviously something up here. 'To much scilence.' He concluded.
Maria blushed in embarressment. She hadn't realized the pissed off look on her face as she was in her world. She sat down in the chair Kyle had pulled out for Liz. Kyle then rolled his eyes and took his seat.
About an hour later after dinner, dessert, and talking, they were ready to go to the dance.
"Are you ready to boggie?!" Nancy asked.
Liz looked up at her mom as if she had seen an alien.
"Uh... actually Nance Lizzy doesn't feel too well. So we're just gunna go up to the cabin." Maria said in a hurry.
"Er...Yeah I'm really sorry mom."
"Well, okay girls. Liz if you don't feel your up to it. Get some rest."
"Don't worry we will." Both the girls said nsync. 'Freaky!' They thought.
~OUT SIDE~
The girls had not stepped three feet from the dinning room when Maria came out with... "Okaaay... don't thank me in a hurry."
"Thank you for what?" Liz asked confused.
"Uh...Hmm. Gee Liz... this one's hard! C'mon girl giving you the excuse to high-tale it outta there!"
"Well Maria, thank you. But let me rest you assured that I truly WAS about to be sick. That was NO excuse."
Both the girls laughed as they came to the main path. They were talking about their favorite events from the evening and not so favorite events from the evening.
"Mmmm... I especially was enthused when Jim began to talk about Kyle and his bed wetting problem when he was seven. I 'bout died from laughter." Liz giggled.
"Uh.. if I remember correctly, the only thing that was about to kill you was when you choked on your glass of water when your dad was telling about your fear of garbage dispos...."
"Shh... Maria be quiet will you?!?!"
"What?!? If your really that embarressed by the whole thing I'll quit."
"I'm sorry. It's not that. But, do you hear that music?"
"Yeah, I wonder where it's coming from."
"Over there." Liz pointed in the direction of the staff headquaters.
"C'mon let's go see what it is."
"Oh Maria, I really dont' think we should"
Maria heavily sighed, "Liz, you said so yourself that this place was as boring as watch a snail crwal across a rock."
"I never said that!"
"Yeah yeah. But you know, that I know, that you know, that this is boring. (~If you didn't know, I got that from FRIENDS, I thougt it was a cute line. ; ) ~) So c'mon Liz, all the cool kids are doing it!"
"Fine! But Maria... if I go down, you are SO going down with me."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it... Titantic sinks, so does Maria. Now, let's go!" Maria said as she dragged her off toward the blasting music which was currently playing the opening bars for 'Caramel' by City High. (I know, wrong time zone for the movie. But I wanted to save the 60's music for later scenes and make the year '01'.)
It wasn't 3 seconds before they reached a sign that read 'Staff Headquaters. No Guests Please!' Liz and Maria smiled at eachother before they ran off across the bridge that seprated them from a set of stairs which led to the big cabin where all the music was coming from.
On their way across the bridge they saw Alex Struggling with three watermelons.
"HEY WAIT!" Maria shouted, "Let us help you."
"I'm fine. You guys shouldn't be here." Alex said.
"See Maria! I knew we shouldn't have come! Were gunna be in soo much trouble. GREAT! C'mon let's go before we really get busted." Liz said in a frantic motion.
"Liz! Simm'a Down!" Maria laughed, " We're not in trouble. I'm sure Alex won't say anything." She turned to Alex. "We were just taking a walk." She pointed to the watermelons, "Here, let us hel you." She said grabbing one and making another fall, causing him to lose his balance.
Liz caught the fallen watermelon. And luckily, Alex fell in the grass next to the rocky pavement.
"No. Liz is right," he started, "you two should go back to your little play pen."
At this comment, both of the girls put the watermelon they carried back in his arms and started waling away.
"Wait," Alex said, "can you two keep a secret?" He asked.
"Yeah." Liz replied.
"Your parents would kill you. Jim would kill me."
They each carried a watermelon up the stairs. By the time they got in the music/people/smoke filled cabin, 'Caramel' was ending and 'I Wanna Know' by Joe was just beggining. They made their way back tables where there were drinks and snacks and ashtrays. They found Max and Tess who had just got off the dance floor to get a few drinks. Liz was about to go say 'Hi' to Max but noticed a girl all over him and sudden felt as if she was going to cry. She quickly turned around hoping Max wouldn't notice her.
"Liz, hey." She heard him call.
Turning around she said, "Oh, hey Max." She was getting even more uncomfortable my the moment seeing how that blonde was hanging all over him.
"C'mon Max! Let's go dance." The blonde said so lazily you could tell she was drunk from a mile away.
"Hold on. I wanna talk to Liz for a second." With that, Max led her to a quieter area. "Liz, I'm really sorry about Tess. She gets a little weird after a few."
'So, the houch has a name.' Liz thought but responded with, "It's okay Max. Don't worry about it."
"Well, I am sorry."
"I know Max... It's all right, I told you."
"Okay. So, you wanna dance?"
"I'd love to."
They were on the floor not even thirty seconds when the song ended followed by 'Rock The Boat' by Aaliyah. The style of everybody's dancing style chaged almost immeditly. People started grinding, girls started vibrating and guys were doing fancy footwork. Max could see that Liz felt really out of place. So he took her arms and put them around his neck. He then put his hands on her hips and started swaying.
"Good, good. Now put a little roll in it." He advised her.
Liz looked up at him and smiled her bighest smile. She started geting a little brave by dipping down infront of him and quickly rising as she saw other girls doing around her.
~By Maria~
'Where is Liz?? She just abonded me with Blondie over here?' Maria thought until she saw Liz and Max dancing over in on the floor. 'Oh, I see. Damn girl, where'd you learn to dance like that? OOh.... work it girl work it. Uh huh!' Maria was getting so into being happy for her friend she didn't notice Michael coming up to her and Alex.
"Hey Alex, what's she doing here?" Michael asked.
"She's with me... she came with me." Alex resopnded laughing.
Not wanting Michael to the wrong impression she quickly corrected Alex, " I carried a watermelon."
Michael looked at her weirdly and walked off.
"I carried a watermelon?!?!" Maria asked herself in disbelife.
OOh.... work it girl work it. Uh huh!' Maria was getting so into being happy for her friend she didn't notice Michael coming up to her and Alex.
"Hey Alex, what's she doing here?" Michael asked.
"She's with me... she came with me." Alex resopnded laughing.
Not wanting Michael to the wrong impression she quickly corrected Alex, " I carried a watermelon."
Michael looked at her weirdly and walked off.
"I carried a watermelon?!?!" Maria asked herself in disbelife.
Sry this took so long. It's been crazy with the holidays... but there over and I hope to get a couple of parts in. Hope you like this part!
Last couple of lines from Part 4
'Where is Liz?? She just abonded me with Blondie over here?' Maria thought until she saw Liz and Max dancing over in on the floor. 'Oh, I see. Damn girl, where'd you learn to dance like that? OOh.... work it girl work it. Uh huh!' Maria was getting so into being happy for her friend she didn't notice Michael coming up to her and Alex.
"Hey Alex, what's she doing here?" Michael asked.
"She's with me... she came with me." Alex resopnded laughing.
Not wanting Michael to the wrong impression she quickly corrected Alex, " I carried a watermelon."
Michael looked at her weirdly and walked off.
"I carried a watermelon?!?!" Maria asked herself in disbelife.
Part 5
Max and Liz were on the floor for three more songs until they finally had to get off the floor because the DJ was taking a break. They decided on getting drinks while they waited.
"So Liz, I'm sorry to tell you this, but um... I really don't think that your going to have a problem with the dance lessons. I mean, you seem to be getting the stuff I'm showing you now and those steps are basic for what I'm planning on teaching you and your friend. What was her name by the way?" Max asked feeling terribly embarresed for not even knowing one of his, soon-to-be-dance-students. And besides Michael was asking all sorts of questions about her eariler.
"Huh?" Liz asked.
She was to focused on the way his mouth moved every time he uttered a word. She had only been paying attention to that sense they came off the dance floor. She had noticed that before he smiled, he would close his lips, let a short breath out of his nose then he would proceed to smile. First with the very tips of the corners of his lips, the of to the full blown upward curved mouth. She would give anything just to be able to sit there and watch him smile all day.
"Your friend, the one that will be reciving the lessons with you. What's her name?"
"Why? You intrested?" Liz asked with a hint of jealousy.
Max liked know that Liz liked him enough to get jealous. But he also felt bad because him was intrested in her friend was not the case at all. He simply wanted to know the girls name. For him and Michael sense Michael claimed he didn't know it. He decided not to let her get too insecure, so he replied with,
"Not at all. If she is to be my student then I would naturally want to know her name."
With a sigh of relief Liz said, "Maria."
"Oh... you know, Michael was asking about her."
"What was he asking?"
"What's her name, where's she from, how long is she staying...stuff of that nature."
"Wait he wanted to know her name?"
"Uh... yeah, why is that so bad."
"Oh, no. I mean it's not a bad thing, it's just that... well Maria said they had introduced themselves to each other eariler today. Before we went into the dining room to eat."
Max smiled a sly smile as if he just found the last needed clue to some complex mystrey.
"What?" Liz asked, the suspense killing her.
"Michael."
Liz looked at Max in confusion.
"Well you see, if Michael is intrested in a girl, which doesn't happen often, then he will push her away. Then he will come to me, Iz, Alex, or Tess to give him advice."
"Why does he push them away?"
"Well you see, he's afraid. Afraid of getting hurt that is."
"Why?"
"Ever scince he was a little boy, girls have been breaking his heart. Starting with his mother to he's ex- fiance, who cheated on him the night before their wedding, it's not been a pleasnt life."
"Poor Michael. I can tell that Maria really likes him. And if Maria likes someone she just doesn't walk out."
~OVER BY MARIA~
'How lame is that? I carried a watermelon. I. Carried. A watermelon. Stupid Maria, VERY stupid.' Maria thought in disgust.
"Maria, what's wrong with you?" Alex asked.
"What do you mean?" Maria asked clearly confused.
"I mean," Alex giggled, "You... carried... a... a... a watermelon?!?!" Alex burst out in laughter.
"Yeah yeah I know. I was asking myself that same question. Agh! I mean how stupid was that?" Maria asked.
"Uh very?" Tess spoke up for the first time.
Alex burst out laughing, Maria sat there and glared at Tess.
"Maria don't worry. She's just trashed... not drunk, but TRASHED." Alex said as-a-matter-of-factly.
This got a laugh out of Maria which was exactly what Alex had wanted.
Max and Liz walked up to the three, Max's arms around Liz's waist.
"Max that was soo fun!", Liz started turning in his arms to face him, "I can't wait until we actually start with the lessons."
"Either can I." Max said with a deep look in his eyes as he gazed at Liz.
Liz blushed and hid her face in the crook of Max's neck.
Alex and Maria shared a knowing look just as the DJ came over the speakers. "Okay kiddies, were now gunna play some oldies. But don't worry... their totally dance-able!"
The crowd cheered. This was their favorite part of the nightly dance events. They loved the older songs and danced to them like they were part of the generation the songs originally came from.
The line up oldies songs started out with:
Do You Love Me by: The Contours
People were dancing way differently than they ever would in these times. People were entwining their legs and and rolling thier hips. They were clinging on eachother like there was no tomorrow.
Liz looked at Max. Max looked at Liz. "Wanna show me?" Liz asked ready and willing to have some sort of excuse to be that close to Max.
"Of course." Max replied and the two were off on the dance floor yet again.
Alex look at Maria, "I don't suppose you want to give it a shot."
"No I don't suppose I do." Maria said coldly. It wasn't that she had anything against Alex. It was that she couldn't dance.... AT ALL! It just wasn't her thing. Never was, never would be.
Maria and Alex watched Max and Liz dance, Tess just sorta... well she, she just didn't. She wasn't wake and she certenly was wasn't sleeping. And her midsection was starting to bend a little as she tried to sway to the music, and was obviously unsucsesfull.
::Insert song changing to: Love Man by: Otis Redding::
Across the floor, dancing with anybody and everybody, was Michael. He didn't like the fact that Maria was wriggling herself in to his heart. And he most defenitly didn't like the fact that she looked so hot, standing there, looking like a fool, as she tried to make herself unnoticeable by swaying her hips and bobbing her head, really making her self noticeable, especially to him. She didn't know what she was doing and needed help, seriously.
One of his friends that he was dancing with, Penny, noticed him looking at Maria... well more like gawking. "Just go talk to her. Ask her to dance."
There was a flicker of annoyance that flashed through Michael's eyes and over his face. But only a flicker, as soon as it was there, it disappeared.
He looked at Penny and smiled, "Your right." Then he was off.
Maria wasn't paying any attention, once again, when Michael walked up to her. "You wanna give it a go?" Michael asked.
"Huh?...Wa?... Me?" Maria asked slightly embaressed.
"Yeah you." With that Michael took one of her hands and then with his other hand made a come hither motion.
When they made their way to the dance floor, Michael started moving his hips. Maira tried to mock his motion but didn't get it quite right.
Michael laughed, "No down THEN cicrle... down, circle. Good, good. Now your getting it." Michael said.
Michael moved closer then pointed for her to look him in the eyes. Next, he slung her arms over his shoulders then proceeded to move their bodies closer together.
As soon as Michael thought that Maria had it down good enough, he softly whispered, "Good, now I want you to do it the other way."
Maria was so lost in the moment she barley got out and "okay". She started moving the other way and when she got that way down, Michael started dipping her here and there.
When the song finially ended Michael had decided not to let Maria get close to him. It was to dangerous and he didn't want to get hurt. So instead of thanking her for the dance... when it ended he spun her around and left when she was in the middle of spinning. Leaving her looking cluelessly dumb.
AN: Okay... here it is, the new part. I really hope you guys haven't already disowned me. That'd really be, well, horrible. So, my next move is to tell you a flood of excuses which you probably don't want to hear anyway, but alas, here it goes... my cable was down, computer crashed, had midterms somewhere in there, did a thousand and one book reports (not literally), got writers block, my aunt had a baby, and for a while there had to REALLY concentrate on my grades. But PLEASE don’t hate me. But this one is sorta short because I was at my aunts helping her out with her baby. So I’m very sorry if anyone is disappointed. ENJOY!
From Part 5:
When the song finally ended Michael had decided not to let Maria get close to him. It was too dangerous and he didn't want to get hurt. So instead of thanking her for the dance... when it ended he spun her around and left when she was in the middle of spinning. Leaving her looking cluelessly dumb.
Part 6a:
“Wake up Maria! Rise and shine. It’s going to be a beautiful day!” Liz said rather enthusiastically.
“Liz, babe, it’s raining out side.” Maria answered groggily.
“Oh, that. Oh well, you’ll live. Get up!”
“Ugh… nag. You know, your worse than my mother.”
“I’m sorry. I can’t help myself.”
“…”
“Ugh, Maria. Don’t you want to know why?”
“Well, I’d say no, but I have a feeling that your gunna tell me anyway.”
Liz squealed in excitement. “Today is the day.”
“And what day would that be?”
“We start our first dance lesson.”
“Ooo, fun fun fun!” Maria stated sarcastically.
“Maria, what’s wrong with you? Yesterday you were ecstatic!”
“I know Liz, I’m sorry. Its just that, ya know, I was really into Michael and I thought for sure he was feeling me too.”
“And now?”
“Well… now I don’t know what to think. I mean, one moment we’re dancing like I’ve never seen before and the next I’m on the dance floor all by myself looking like a sad, lost little child.”
“Awe, hunny, I’m so sorry. I had no idea.”
“It’s not your fault. It’s just what I get, you know, for getting my hopes up.”
“Maria, NO!” Liz yelled her eyes widening with excitement.
“What do you mean no? It’s not like I can force him to be with me ya know.”
“Well, you can’t force anything upon anyone. I wasn’t saying that, not at all. But, ah yes! This is gunna be great! We can go shopping in town today. Get pedicures and manicures. Hair, makeup, wardrobe. Perfect, perfect!”
“Uh Liz, babe. Maria’s a tit bit confused over here.”
“Oh sorry Maria, my mind just ran away with me.”
“Yeah, obviously. So what was your thinker boiling up in there?”
“Well, grasshopper, it’s simple really. We go shopping. We get killer outfits. I’m not talking about the girl next-door crap. I’m talking about, come n’ get me boys! After that, we treat ourselves to a manicure and a pedicure. From there, we go get our hair AND makeup done.”
“Liz…”
“Yeah?”
“I LOVE YOU!”
Here is the next part…6b. Here goes… I really hope that you like it and give me more feedback
Part 6b:
“Maria! OMG! This dress is gunna go great with your figure.”
“Liz, hunny, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
“Okay… Liz is officially worried. How much?”
“$500.”
“Oh, that’s all? I thought it was going to be like $1500. Remember that one time I spent $915 and daddy nearly had a cow?”
“Yeah,” Maria laughed, “he was complaining the whole ride home from the store. But it was wrong of you. I mean he JUST found that cure, you didn’t know if it was going to work or not. What if he never got paid?”
“Oh, yeah what if we never got paid?” Liz asked sarcastically “We had already been living been living in the house for 3 months.” Liz said referring to their Malibu mansion. “Besides it was a very important night.”
“What you always have to buy a $900 dollar dress when you go out dancing?”
“Funny Maria. Anywho, you better hurry up and buy the dress. We still need to shop for bikinis and our nail appointments are in an hour.”
“Alright, alright.”
>>Three Hours Later<<
Maria and Liz collapse on their rightful beds. Liz whimpers. Maria sighs hard.
“Maria?”
“Yeah?”
“I just had the absolute most horrible dream.”
“Why? What happened?”
“We went shopping and we got home and were exhausted. Weird huh? I mean, we’re NEVER exhausted.”
“You know Liz? Your right, must have something to do with the mountain air.”
“Yeah, probably. So, should we cancel on Max?”
“You mean Max AND Michael?”
“Oh yeah, I forgot about him.” Liz giggles. “So, should we just call and ask them if they want to meet us down by the hot tub instead?”
“YEAH! Liz girl, your brilliant and I love you all the more for it!” Maria gave Liz a tight bear hug.
“Ria, Lizzy can’t breathe!” Liz shouted over her excited friend.
“Oops, sorry Liz.”
They both shared another laugh before they changed and went to find Max and Michael.
>>>Max and Michael’s cabin<<
“Michael, where are they?!? They were supposed to be here over a half hour ago. I say we try to go find them.” Max suggests franticly.
“Max, Max, simmer down. They’ll be here. Relax. They’re chicks; they’re probably up at their cabin franticly trying to find what to wear and what not. So just chill your ass down.”
::KNOCK KNOCK::
“Speak of the devil.” Michael said sarcastically.
“What about the devil?” Maria asks as Max let them in.
“Hi Max.” Liz says shyly.
“Hey.” Max say equal to Liz’s shyness.
“Nothing nosey.” Michael says responding to Maria’s question.
“We were getting worried so we were opting whether or not to go looking for you.” Max stated sensing the tension.
“Awe, you were?” Maria asked Michael, puppy dog eyes and all.
“Yeah. But then I said that you were probably on your way.”
“That we were.”
“Yeah.”
Maria and Michael stayed in their gaze for another minute or so before Liz decided to do what they were actually planning on doing.
“Well you guys, Maria and I just got back from a long day of shopping. Usually it doesn’t wear us out like it did.”
“We think it’s the air. You know, the mountains ‘n all.” Maria said for Liz.
“Anyhoo, so we wanted to ask that since we’re so tiered and we agreed on spending the night with you guys. Well we wanted to know if you wanted to hang out with us down by the hot tub.”
“I’m so there!” Michael reported before he jumped over the sofa to retrieve his bathing suit.
“Wait Michael. We’re sorry ladies, but we can’t.”
“Why?” Liz asked, hurt in her doe eyes.
“I’m really sorry Liz but, teaching you two to dance is fine, anything on personal matters is not fine.”
Liz looked like she was about to cry.
“Max. Hello! Are you that dense?” Michael asked raising his voice. “We can use the staff pool and hot tub. Everyone else is working right now, besides nobody here cares.”
“Yea! So Max, what do you say?” Maria asked with growing excitement.
“Of course!” Max said equally excited.
>>Down By The Staff Pool<<
“Ah yes, this feels nice.” Liz purred after she sunk into the hot tub.
“I know it girl, I know it.” Maria sighed.
Max was next to get in followed by Michael.
“Damn this is hot.” Michael said.
“More like damn this is great.” Maria corrected.
“Hot.”
“Nice”
“Hot!”
“Nice!”
“HOT!” Michael said while splashing Maria.
“NICE!” Maria said while splashing Michael.
They broke out into a water fight. Until Max started yelling at them that is.
“Look you guys. Can you two PLEASE take your dysfunctional form of foreplay over into the POOL?!?”
Liz started to laugh as she watched Michael pick Maria up and throw her into the connecting pool. Maria and Michael started going at it. Max joined Liz in on the laughing.
“You think it’s funny?” Michael asked Max as he splashed him.
“Hey!” Max yelled as he jumped into the pool to counter attack Michael.
Liz all the while was laughing at Max as Maria and Michael tried drowning him with water.
“Oh Liz!” Maria said in teasing tone.
Liz looked over to Maria. “Maria, no. No!” Liz screamed. It was too late though. Her body was shivering with cold water.
“Okay, this is war!”
Liz took Max’s side. The two couples continued the fight for 15 minutes more. Maria jumped in front of Liz.
“C’mon Max. Hit me with your best shot!” She yelled.
“NO MAX! Don’t do it!” Liz screamed clearly seeing what Maria had planned.
Unfortunately for Liz, it was too late. Max didn’t realize what Maria had planned and splashed at Maria. Maria jumped out of the way quickly before she got hit and Liz was engulfed with water.
“MAX!” Liz screamed. She started splashing him with all the fighting power she had in her. Maria and Michael laughed at the sight and started helping Liz to get Max.
Michael grabbed a hold of Max and Maria kept on splashing, Liz on the other hand stopped. She went up to Max and gave him a kiss on the lips. Michael, who still had Max in his grasp, knew what Liz was doing.
As soon as Liz stepped back, she leaned back and pushed forward, and with all the strength she could muster, she splashed Max.
Max acted like he was hurt. He looked Liz in the eye and pathetically asked, “Et tu, Liz?”
Part 7a:
>>NEXT NIGHT<<
“Maria, have you seen Liz at all today?” Jeff asked.
“Oh, yeah Jeff. She’s in the shower right now. Do you want me to tell her you stopped by?”
“No, that’s perfectly alright. I just wanted to know how things went with her and Kyle last night. He’s really such a good match for Lizzy, don’t you think?”
“Uh, yeah. Last night? What do you mean last night?”
“Oh, when Kyle excused himself from the table last night he told us that he was meeting Liz. Why do you ask, that’s not a false statement is it?”
“You know, I’m not sure. But I’ll talk to Lizzy for you.”
“Thank you dear. Are you and Liz going to be joining us for the dinner dance tonight?”
“Nope, actually Liz and I were just gunna hang out here. That’s all right isn’t it?”
“Of course, of course. You girls don’t stay up too late, you hear?”
“Yeah I hear ya.” Maria let out a giggle. She knew he hated it when she was illiterate with him.
“Goodnight Maria.” He said sternly and walked down to the dinner house.
‘That’s weird. Why in the world would Kyle say that he was with Liz? Hmm…’
Liz came out of the bathroom.
“Who was that?”
“Oh that was just your dad.” Maria answered not totally there. She was still wondering why Kyle would lie.
“What’s up Maria, Michael troubles?”
“No. The reason your dad came was to see how things had gone with you and Kyle last night.”
“Kyle?!?”
“Yeah apparently you two hung out last night and make a ‘Perfect Match’” Maria said repeating Jeff’s words.
“What?!?”
“Kyle excused himself from the table last night saying he was meeting you someplace. He’s up to something and if we don’t find out what is we could go down with him.”
>>LATER THAT NIGHT<<
“Ah, Liz sweetie, you and Maria decided to grace us with your presence.” Nancy exclaimed proudly.
“Uh, yeah.” Liz said shyly.
There were two empty chairs next to one another. One was by Nancy and one by Kyle.
“Maria, why don’t you sit next to me. I know how you hate to be by strangers.” Nancy said winking at Maria.
Maria forced a smile. “Oh thanks Nance!” She said over enthusiastically.
“Sorry Liz. You’re stuck next to Kyle.” Maria said sympathetically.
“That’s okay.”
“So,” Maria ventured, “how’d it go last night you two?”
“Oh yeah Kyle, tell them all about it.” Liz continued.
Kyle was flustered. ‘How the hell did they find out?’
“Yes Kyle, do tell. I sent poor Jeff to get details. Never send a man to do a woman’s job, that’s what my mother always said.” Nancy stated.
It then hit Kyle. Hit him like an egg on a brick wall. ‘THANK YOU GOD! They didn’t rat me out!’
“Oh. Well… you see. We um, I uh… took her to the lake shore.”
“The lake shore? Romantic, romantic… go on.” Nancy pondered.
“Oh shoot!” Liz tried her best to sound disappointed. “Kyle, Maria, we have to go. Remember? We were supposed to help Alex with that thing he asked us to help him with?”
Liz looked to Kyle then to Maria for help.
“Oh, Yeeeeeah! That um, that thing. Right Kyle?”
“…”
“Kyle?!?”
“Yeah, with the talent show. We were gunna help him with props.”
“Props! That’s it.” Liz exclaimed.
Maria giggled. “Heh, yeah. Props.”
The three ran out of the dinner house.
Nancy, Jeff and Jim all exchanged glances.
“Look at those three. The best of friends. Props, HA!” Jim was the first to say.
“What do you mean?” Nancy asked clueless.
“Nance, they just wanted to get out of here. They have no obligation to Alec or Alex, whatever his name was.” Jeff said.
“Ooooh!”
The three smiled at each other.
>>OUTSIDE<<
The three were laughing hysterically.
“So, Kyle, what was that all about? I mean you know, why’d we lie for you?” Liz asked, her goofy matter turning serious.
Kyle also turned angry. “None of your damn business!”
Kyle stalked off.
“FINE!” Maria shouted. “Next time you wanna think about using us in your little shenanigan, you better think twice! We wont lie for you anymore Valenti!”
“C’mon Maria.”
Maria and Liz were walking back to the staff head quarters when they were stopped by Alex.
“Hey Maria, Liz. Are you two looking for Michael and Max?”
“Yeah” They said in union.
“Okay, we’ll be down there in a bit. Maria forgot her bathing suit up at their cabin; we were just going to get it.”
“Alright, see you two in a few.”
“Bye Alex.”
Maria and Liz were on their way back to the ball room when they were stopped by Kyle.
“Maria, Liz, look I wanna say that I’m sorry. And I would love to explain what’s going on… just no here. Can we talk somewhere more private?”
Maria and Liz looked to each other.
”Sure.”
The three were on their way to the kitchen when Grant came up to Maria.
“Hey good look’n, wanna go for a walk?”
Maria looked to Liz. Liz nodded.
Kyle looked to Grant. “Grant.” He snarled.
“Kyle.” Grant returned the favor.
“Sure.” Maria giggled out. Maria looked to Liz. “Meet me back at the ball room in a half hour.”
“Okay, don’t be late Maria.”
“I won’t, I won’t.”
Her and Grant were off in a heart beat.
“So, Kyle, you wanna tell me what the hell’s going on?”
“Yeah, but I wanna be somewhere more private. Follow me.”
>>KITCHEN<<
“You know Tess?”
“You mean that trashed tramp from the other night?”
“Don’t EVER talk about her like that!” Kyle barked.
“Jeez, I get it… exnay on the ramptay.” Liz replied a little spooked. She had never been yelled at like that. Not even by her own father.
“Well, we’re in love. God Liz I wish you could get to know the real Tess. I wish everyone could. The only people who really know the real her are Max, Michael, Isabel, Alex and I.”
“Hmm… So let me get this straight. You two are in love so you use me as a decoy t=so you can frolic in the moon light?!? Kyle, not the best idea hun. People are going to think that something is up with you and me, which clearly is not, and when they want to know why we don’t show public displays of affection, they’re going to wonder.”
“I know, and then if we do, we’ll hurt Tess and Max.”
“How’d you know about Max and I?”
“Liz, I have my ways. Plus I’m not as blind or as stupid as one may think.”
“This I can see. So, we have to make it short and sweet. We have to break up. Any ideas.”
“Me? Why do I have to be the brains of the operation?”
“Well seeing as you got us into this mess. I think the least you can do is get us out.”
“Fair enough. Well, we could have a big public fight about how you’re too controlling and how you flip out every time I talk to another girl.”
“Ha ha. Probably not.” Liz said sarcastically. “It would be more believable if you were the one who was a controlling prick.”
“Fine.”
“Fine. Can I ask you a question?”
“Shoot.”
“What was that whole exchange between you and Grant about?”
“You saw that?”
“Who wouldn’t see it?”
“Liz, he’s no good. He’s a rat.”
Liz laughed. “You got the hots for Maria don’t you?”
“No Liz. Not that Maria isn’t pretty or anything. But really. He really is scum.”
“Care to share?”
“Not now. You just have to trust me.”
“Okay. I’ll talk to Maria.”
>>BY Grant AND Maria<<
“So,” Grant started out, “how long are you and your friend gunna be staying here?”
Maria giggled, “The whole summer. Three months I mean.” Maria laughed nervously.
‘Yes! This chick is gunna be so easy to bag. I bet one ‘I love you’ from me and she’s hooked. I wonder how her friend is. This is gunna be a good summer.’
“Wow, that’s cool. Hey Maria. I know we’ve only known each other for a couple of hours but I can feel this… I dunno, connection. Do you feel it?” Grant asked rubbing up against her.
“Okay Captain Commando. Let’s get one thing straight. I am not just some easy lay. Got it? So unless you never want to have children, I suggest you take Mini-Me and your self away before I really blow. Okay? Buh-bye.” Maria said in a fake cheery tone.
Grant backed away and in doing so, Maria caught sight of movement in the bushes. She squinted her eyes to see better. When her vision came in focus, she saw a disheveled crying Isabel. Fearing the worst, she went in search of Liz and Kyle.
Part 7b
>>BY BALL ROOM<<
‘Dammit, where the hell are they?!?’ Maria thought impatiently. “She tells ME not to be late. HA!’
She heard yelling in the ball room so she poked her head in to see what was up.
“God Kyle! I’m taking dance lessons; I’m not cheating on you! You’re so controlling.” Liz yelled at Kyle clearly hurt.
The music stopped and everyone stared at Kyle and Liz.
“So, you need it Liz! How do I know if I can trust you?!?”
“Why don’t you trust me? I haven’t given you any reason to doubt me!”
“HA! Every time I look at you you’re always smiling at guys. And you can’t not see the way they look at you!”
“You know what? I don’t need this. I have never and will never cheat on you or anyone else!”
“Yeah OKAY!”
“You think I’m lying?!? GOD! We’re through. I can’t be with someone as controlling as you. I hate it. I feel like a victim being stalked. Not someone in a relationship!”
“FINE! I never really liked you anyway. The only reason I’m in this is because my dad likes you.”
“Oh, up yours you damned ass hole!”
Liz ran crying out of the ball room and round the corner where Maria was standing. Liz started to laugh. ‘It worked. I can’t believe it worked!’ Liz laughed again.
“What the hell just happened in there? Definitely not something to be laughing at.” Maria asked.
Liz jumped. “OMG Maria. I didn’t see you. You scared the crap outta me.”
“Yeah well I’m gunna do a lot more than that if you don’t tell me what’s going on.”
Liz explained the whole situation.
“Liz, that’s great, but we sort of have a situation.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t know, but when I told that sleaze Grant off, I saw Isabel in a bush crying. She looked petrified Liz.”
“Okay,” Liz said worriedly, “go get Kyle. Tell him to come out here. We’ll tell him and he’ll know what to do.”
“Why tell Kyle?”
“He’s really good friends with them all.”
“Okay. Hold on.”
Maria ran in the ball room where she found Kyle surrounded by many girls their age comforting Kyle on his recent break up. She heard bits and pieces of their conversations.
“…that slut…”
“Poor thing…”
“…my bed Kyle?”
‘Stupid hussies.’ Maria thought in disgust.
“Kyle.” No answer. “Kyle!” No answer. She broke through the crowd a little bit. “KYLE!”
Kyle looked up. ‘My hero.’ He thought.
“C’mon.” Maria ordered.
Kyle followed her out to Liz. “Maria I can’t thank you enough. I thought I was going to suffocate.” He looked to Liz. “Excellent performance. You should go to Hollywood. You’d probably make it good! Put er’ there.” Kyle said sticking out his hand.
When he noticed Liz’s lack of enthusiasm he was worried. “What happened?”
“It’s Isabel. Something’s wrong with her. Maria said she saw her crying in a bush.”
“Aw shit!” Kyle exclaimed.
“What’s going on Kyle? What’s wrong with Isabel?” Maria asked.
“Yeah,” Liz agreed, “and none of that ‘not now’ shit.”
“She’s knocked up Lizzie.”
“Knocked up?” Maria asked in disbelief.
“By who?” Liz asked.
“Not now. We have to find Max and Michael.”
“Why them?”
“Max is her brother. Michael’s their cousin.”
“Oh.”
>>BALL ROOM<<
Kyle ran up to Max and whispered in his ear. Maria and Liz were standing by the door. Max looked from Kyle to Liz, to Kyle again and then ran out of the ball room. Liz ran after Max to help him find her. Michael looked at Kyle and Kyle started towards the door. Michael followed Kyle out the door who was Followed by Maria.
Kyle, Maria and Michael caught up with Max, Alex and Liz since Max and Liz had no clue to where they were going and ran into Alex.
“What’s she doing here?” Michael asked pointing to Maria.
“She knows where Isabel is.” Kyle answered.
“Then what about her?” Michael asked.
“Michael.” Max said warningly.
“It’s okay Max.” Liz said. “I’m here to keep look out.”
“She wouldn’t do anything stupid would she?” Kyle asked.
“Of course not!” Michael said getting annoyed.
“She’s over there.” Maria interrupted.
The four men ran over to Isabel.
“Iz what were you thinking?” Max asked.
“I’m so scared Max.” Isabel responded crying.
“Aw, don’t be. It’ll all be okay.” Maria threw her two cents in.
“Maria? Is that your name? Well let me tell you something Maria. You don’t know shit about my problems.”
“Actually, I told them.” Kyle quietly said.
“Aw shit Kyle,” Isabel spat, “now she’s gunna go tell her boyfriend Grant and will get us all fired. Why don’t we just put it on a blimp? ‘Izzy got knocked up by Sean the creep!!!’.”
“Sean?!?” Maria asked in surprise.
“Look Maria…” Michael started.
“Wait, I know Sean. Manager right? He went to school with us. I know he has the money, if you just told him I’m sure…” Liz started.
“He knows.” Isabel cut off.
“I see.” Liz said and went back to walk around to make sure no one was coming.
“You guys. Someone’s coming.” Liz alerted.
“C’mon. We need to get you back to your room.” Alex picked Isabel up.
“Wait, mine and Maria’s is just around the corner. We can let her rest there.”
“Okay.” Max said grabbing Liz’s hand.
Everyone followed Maria and Liz to their room.
Hey you guys. I'm really REALLY sorry for being MIA. You truly have no idea. The thing is, is that I've been super busy from school. I mean, I have cheerleading practice twice a week for three hours and then a game once a week which I am required to be there an hour before hand. I am running for office for my class so there's alot of organization being put into that. I have float meetings for homecoming at my house once a week and maybe strating twice a week. Plus I am trying to keep up on tons upon TONS of homework classwork and just schoolwork in general. And I have to fit work into the whole senario. So plz PLEASE forgive me. I swear, I will try and take time out to write on the chapters each day... but with such a tight schedule... they might take a week or two to make each chapter.
I'm so so sorry.
Hey Guys! It's me again. Please don't hate me. I've been absent far too long for my own taste, but I'm here. Things with school have slowed down considerably and I hope to get more parts posted ASAP. But before I do... I seem to remember putting in another part than what I see in the recent posts.(I came to refresh my memory on where I left off on the story and to read the feedback. (Great by the way *wink*)) But until I figured out what happened, I'm not going to post. So, when is the next part gunna be posted? Sometime soon hopefully!
Well, see you again soon!
Hey. Here's the deal. I'm almost positive that I posted something that is not here. So, I can only assume three things. (Heh, yeah only three. Let's just say I was this close ---> | | from pulling my hair out. *happy* )
One: It possibly got deleted some how.
Two: I never posted, I just thought I did. (Let's hope that's not the case. I'm too young to be losing my mind.)
Three: It was lost when my computer crashed. (Ugh, that’s happened like three times in the last year. It kind of goes with number two, but oh well. I won’t get technical if you won’t.)
Because I've misplaced the part, I have to redo it. Yea! (Can you hear the sarcasm? No? Well it's there believe me.) So, this kind of sets the story back. But I'll try to make it obvious what was in it with out taking too much time on the part. Incase I haven’t lost my mind and you've already read about what's in this part, behr with me please, I'll get back on track.
So now that I've taken your reading time with my pointless babbling, I'll let you read the stuff you actually want to read about, not the stuff about me losing my mind and such. (He hee, "and such". I'm trying to sound smart.) <---Sorry!
Pt 8
"Lay her down over here." Maria said as she pointed to Liz's neatly made bed. Laying her carefully, Alex did his best not to bring anymore discomfort to Isabel. Everyone stood silently as if they were afraid any sound would make Isabel lose the baby.
"When was the last time you had a period." Liz asked getting into the more scientist mode of her nature.
"About two months ago. Just before it happened." She said sitting up, bringing her knees to her chest and sobbing.
"What happened?" Liz asked. Liz looked around. Nobody answered; they just stared off into space with disgusted looks forming their faces.
"Just before what happened?" Liz asked raising her voice, looking towards Max.
"Liz, Isabel didn't want to have sex with Sean." Max said. That's really all he had to say too. Rape. It was obvious to Liz what he meant and it made her sick to her stomach to think anyone could be so cruel hearted.
"Isabel, why don’t you go to somebody, get a lawyer, get that scum in jail." Liz inquired taking a step towards her.
"Liz, easy. She's going through a tough time." Alex said getting up from where he was rubbing Isabel's shoulders and moving in between Liz and Isabel as a sort of protection.
"No. It always gets worse before it can get any better." Liz said turning to Maria as some sort of support. Maria could only divert her eyes.
"So what do you plan to do with the child?" Liz asked sitting on the bed next to Isabel. Isabel looked up surprised. She had not thought of that much.
"I. I have to get rid of it." Isabel replied reluctantly. Gasps were heard through out the room.
"Oh but you can't!" Maria spoke for the first time. If it was one thing she was strongly it had to be abortion. In her eyes every child lost was a chance for world peace and everything relating to it out the window.
"Hey, I don't think it's really any of your business." Michael stood facing Maria, jaws and fists clenching.
"Ease up Michael." Isabel said getting up. "I don't like the idea either Maria. It's the only way though. Max and Michael are very much dependent on me. If I have this child, that means I can't dance for a while. By the time I'd be able to get it together, they'd have lost their jobs and we'd be back on the streets."
Alex embraced Isabel wiping a stray tear from her face. It was obvious she didn't like the idea anymore than the next person, but it was the only option she had open to her at that time.
"If that's the way you feel would be best, then let me help you." Liz said sincerely. Isabel laughed but sobered up when she saw that Liz was serious.
"Liz, the offer is nice and all but come on, what could you possibly do for me?" Isabel curious as to what the answer was going to be. "These things are quite expensive you know and the state doesn’t pay for abortions anymore."
"I can get the money for you." Liz said throwing all caution to the wind. Her father, like Maria, was strongly against abortions, even though he was a doctor and all, he refused to perform them.
Michael snorted. "What?" He asked defensively when he noticed all eyes had turned to him.
"we're just wondering what's so funny Space boy." Maria said bringing her hand to her hips and cocking her head to the side.
"Just wondering where your friend is planning on getting the money princess, her daddy?" Michael said sarcasm seeping trough his tone.
"What?" Maria asked. "I have never", Maria started.
"Have never what? Had to figure things out on your own? Think for your self? Make life and death situations that by the way don't just affect you but every one you every cared for?" Michael demanded.
All Maria could do was sit there. Sit there and stare. She had never known anyone so hurt, so broken down. She could feel her soul searching, crying out for his. She could feel her eyes welling up. Not wanting Michael to know she was getting teary eyed she looked to her now muddy Van shoes. "Your right." She said quietly.
Michael felt his heart break in two. He hadn't meant to hurt her. Just get his point across: He doesn't beg or ask for help. No matter what. End of story. "I'm sorry." He said taking a step toward her.
"For what?" Maria asked taking a step back. That was it, Michael was done in. Even though he may have not known it, he was very much in love with this woman before him.
The room was quiet. The tension was so thick you could cut it. "I can make an appointment for you Isabel. No one has to know except everyone in this room. It can be completely under the table if you want. Jim won’t know so you can't lose your job."
"We didn't ask for your help." Michael stated.
"Michael." Max said warningly giving Michael a look that could kill.
"It sure as hell is a good thing I didn't offer help to you." Liz said pointedly to Michael. "Isabel, we would love to help you, if you'd give us the chance."
Isabel looked to Alex for support. In his eyes she saw nothing but love. She knew she could do it. As long as she had the people she loved by her everything would be okay. "I'd like that very much Liz. Thank you so much."
Maria and Liz headed towards Isabel’s cabin. Today was the day they'd tell her the time of her appointment and be able to make sure it could be done while working around Isabel's schedule. Isabel made it clear it couldn't be a weekend. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all off limits. However, the closest appointment opening Liz could get was on a Friday. The next opening after that was clear in October and the present month being June, she and Maria figured Isabel would be showing by then, her being impregnated in two months ago.
"Knock, knock." Liz said swinging the door open. She found Max standing there. Lately, she lost all nerve around him. She couldn’t even walk straight without bumping into a table or tripping over her own heels anytime he was around. She looked to him and smiled. When he smiled back, her knees went weak and her heart started thudding against her ribs. Tripping over a piece of gravel tracked in from somebody's shoes she landed flat on her ass.
Liz heard laughing from all around her. Great, she thought, so not only did Max see me trip, but all of his and my friends. Geez, now I know the true meaning of falling head over heals for someone.
"Hey Parker, have a nice trip?" The amusing comment came from Michael. Another round of laughter came from the gang.
"Heh, yeah Michael when'd you pick that one up? Back in the third grade?" Liz grinned sarcastically at him.
"No, he picked it up from the Power Rangers movie." Max laughed. "Oh the good ol days."
"How would you know where he got it from Max?" Alex teased. Michael and Max started singing the theme song.
"Oh God! Please stop." Isabel exclaimed laughing. Alex had joined them though.
"Go, go Power Rangers. You mighty morphin' Power Rangers." They all three sang in union. Max was really starting to get into it though, to the point where even Michael and Alex just stood and watched him.
As if he suddenly noticed he was the only person making any kind of noise, Max opened his eyes and sheepishly arose from his kneeling position. His cheeks flamed up all the way to the tips of his boyish ears. Everybody but him burst out with laughter.
"Thanks guys, thanks a bunch." Max said getting more and more embarrassed by the moment.
"Awe, don't worry Max, I think it's adorable." Liz said grabbing on to his cheeks and giving them a light squeeze. His mood changed from goofy to serious all in one second.
"You do?" He asked taking his right hand and covering it over her left hand on his cheek and using his left to draw her waist to his.
"Yeah." Liz breathed. Max swooped his head down touching his lips to hers. Starting out slow, he moved his hands to the sides of her head as if trying to bring her closer, caressing her lips with his as he went. Liz brought her hands up around his neck and getting a chill of excitement, gasped a little, opening her mouth. Taking this as a sign of welcoming, Max could only follow his natural instinct by running his tongue over her bottom lip.
"Whoa! Get a room!" Maria yelled taking her two index fingers and running one across the others if she was protecting herself from the cootie monsters themselves.
Max and Liz both jumped away from each other, embarrassed that they lost so much control so quickly.
"If I'm not mistaken, you two are here for a purpose. When can they get me in?" Isabel said referring to Liz and Maria.
"Not this Friday, but next Friday." Liz said coolly, trying to recover.
"What?" Isabel said clearly upset.
"We're sorry Iz, but that was the closest one, honest. The next one is in October and we figured that you'd be showing by then." Maria said trying to calm Isabel down.
"But you don't understand. I HAVE to be at work. I can't miss work. I have to dance. If I don't dance, we're on the street." Isabel said slightly hyperventilating, getting up and going to her dresser.
"Can't you get someone to fill in?" Liz asked Isabel. Isabel didn't answer. "Isabel?"
Max saw Isabel sorting her socks. She organized, then re-organized them. It wasn't a good sign. She only did this when things got too stressful. He looked to Alex and Alex nodded his head, walking over to where Isabel stood over her dresser now organizing the socks by thickness. Alex started rubbing her back, which always seemed to calm her down in a crisis.
"Liz, there's no one. Everyone is working." Max said with a tenderness. His heart leapt out to hers. There was such an innocence in her eyes. She wanted to fix things, make things better, and this situation was nothing but a lost cause.
"Why don't you fill in?" Michael asked sarcastically.
"That's not a bad idea." Max said with a gleam in his eye.
"Max no. I'm not nearly as good as I should be. I'll screw everything up. I. I can't even do the cha cha slide."
"Liz, that's a club song." Max said with a tone of laughter in his voice.
"Ugh, whatever. You know what I'm getting at. I suck at dancing. Liz Parker and dancing do not mix. I repeat do NOT mix. Uh uh, no way."
"Liz you’re an excellent dancer." Alex encouraged.
"Heh, bull shit." Liz said nervously laughing.
Isabel looked up from where she was organizing the socks. "Liz please? You’re our only hope."
Liz looked at Isabel. So lost, so fragile. "Okay." She said mutely.
