Part 1

Max paced the living room, his energy level rising a notch as he felt the air crackle with unspent energy. Something is wrong.

"Liz?" He gasped as he rushed for the phone. He took a deep breath and dialed the number to her new residence.

"Hello?" A soft voice whispered.

Max strained to hear her as he recognized her voice as Liz's new roommate, Lilah. "Hi, is Liz there?"

"Yeah, hold on-" she replied as Max heard her call for Liz.

"Hello?" Liz asked softly.

"Liz," Max spoke firmly. "Are you feeling ok?"

"What?" Liz asked slightly confused. "Yes, I'm fine. Better then fine, actually."

"Are you sure?" Max inquired, still feeling a sense of confusement and pain.

"Yes, Max-" Liz reassured him. "I'm fine. Look, I have to go. Call you tomorrow?"

"That'd be great." Max replied as Liz said a quick good-bye and hung up.

Max hung up the phone and sat down on his bed. "Huh- What else can it be?"

Kyle tried to meditate- he needed the peace, he need a sense of serenity. He felt out of sorts for a few days, he felt tired and drained.

"Fuck," he grumbled as he stood up. "Don't leave me, my fat Buddha Man- I need you now, more then anything-" his voice trailed off as he heard booming voices in the other room.

Kyle stormed out and looked at his dad lounging on the couch, watching a game. "Can you turn that down?" Kyle snapped as the voices grew louder.

"What?" He cried as Kyle slapped his hands down on his ears.

"You don't have to yell," Kyle growled, losing patience. "Would you just turn down the TV?"

Jim winced slightly and looked up at his son in confusement. "What's wrong?"

"Stop, yelling!" Kyle cried as he pushed his hands harder against his ears.

"I haven't raised my voice, and the TV is on mute." Jim explain softly as Kyle’s jaw dropped open in shock.

"What?" Kyle gasped as he looked at him and then glanced at the TV.

"Kyle?" Jim called out to him as he watched him race out of the room.

Kyle ran to the door. He stopped momentarily before he broke out into a full fledge run. He ran harder and faster then he had in years. He ran, until his legs were numb and his lungs burned. He finally stopped and collapsed on a bench, near the outskirts of town.

"Not now," Kyle cried. "I'm too good to change into a- into a-" Kyle stumbled as his mind raced with thoughts and sounds of the unknown. "This is his fault!" Kyle groaned as he put his head in his hands.

He tried to take a deep breath. After a few moments he managed to stabilize his quick breathing and racing heart. "It's all his fault!" he moaned once more as his hot bitter tears stung his eyes.

Max looked up as the chimes rang over the Crashdown door. He noticed that Kyle had entered and was headed near him. Max smiled and Kyle growled in response.

"Kyle?" Max inquired as he noticed his skin crawling with white electrical currents. He lifted his hand up to touch him as Kyle’s skin flickered a shade of blue.

"I hate you!" Kyle yelled as he flinched at the sound of his own voice. Kyle rubbed his ears and continued to stare at Max.

"What's going on?" Max asked as he stepped closer.

"You!" Kyle groaned and pushed Max away with an energy blast. "You changed me! You turned me into a freak!"

"No-" Max protested as Kyle shot another blast of electricity at him. "Stop!" Max cried as he formed a force shield to block the offending energy blasts.

"You started it!" Kyle cried as he disappeared in front of him.

"Kyle!" Max cried as he sat up.

Max glanced quickly around the room and wiped the sweat off his brow. He took a deep breath, it was just a dream.
