Chapter One

As soon as Isabel the glamorous movie star and her bratty little brother Max stepped onto Micheal Guerin’s cruise boat, The Red Star, he knew things were going to go a little differently this spin around the bay.

Alex came running up the back stairs and, as soon as he laid eyes on their first patrons, almost fell back down them. Micheal grabbed him before he broke his neck and dusted off the front of his shirt. “Watch out little buddy, wouldn’t want you killing yourself while we’re still at dock, we wouldn’t get as much insurance money for you.”

As he’d hoped Alex gave him a lopsided smile and galloped to the otherside of the boat just as the new hand, Kyle Valenti made his way up the stairs Alex had almost just fallen down.

“Why do you keep that guy around, it’s not like he does actual work.” Micheal held back the scathing comment that wanted to burst from him as he turned toward Kyle and saw there was no malice in his features, just a general wondering. He turned back toward the sea, “I keep him because…………I don’t know. He’s my little buddy.”

“Whatever you say man,” Kyle muttered before dragging the load of sheets toward the wash area. Micheal looked down at his watch, almost 6 on the dot. He put his hand over his eyes and scanned the horizon for the two missing guests. If they weren’t here in the next 5 minutes he would sail without them.

“Are we going yet?” The whinny voice was that much more irritating because of the male who it belonged to. The great Isabel’s brother. He was known for the wild parties he threw, the hotels he crashed, the fact that he’d never worked a day in his life and lived happily off of his daddies money. Micheal slowly turned toward him and took in the tight leather pants and black unbuttoned shirt. Yeah, it was official, he didn’t like this guy.

“We’ll sail, when I’m ready to sail.” He tried to keep his voice professionally crisp and turned back toward sea as Max stumped off in a fit and was cuddled by his beautiful blonde girlfriend. Guys like that made him positively ill, everything just fell into their laps. He’d had to work and sweat and bleed to be able to buy this boat and start up this company.

He smoothed the lapels on his coat and looked once again for the missing passengers. They had exactly a minute left. He called to Alex who came bounding around the side of the ship and ran full speed ahead into Miss Evans’. The look of utter horror on her face as he tried to help her back up was almost worth letting this sideshow keep going but he couldn’t do that to Alex, or Miss Evans’.

“There Alex, just go and call Kyle to the deck. We’re about to set sail.” He nodded and took one more glance at her before running below deck again. “You really ought to put that animal on leash,” she fumed as she got to her feet and straitened the pink sequined gown and matching feather boa wrapped around her arms.

“He just gets real excited Miss, I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again.” “You had better,” she snarled before strutting away from him. He sighed and let his eyes wonder one more time to the land before going to the wheel. He heard the gigantic engines start up beneath him and totally relaxed. He was now in his true element.

As he began to guide the boat from the dock he heard faint screams and turned back toward shore only to see two women running full tilt at him. Arms waving, screaming for him to wait. Here were the missing passengers.

He pulled back in and let down the walkway for the two women. The first on the deck was a girl around the age of 20 or 22. She wore her hair in a tight knot at the nape of her neck and thin-rimmed black glasses.

Her clothes were all black with a knee length skirt and sensible low-heeled black shoes. When he met up with her she smiled warmly at him, taking his hand into a soft shake. “Hello Mr. Guerin.” “Hello Miss Parker,” she smiled and proceeded onto the ship. She was pretty, she’d be a whole lot prettier though if she would relax a little. Be less, “the girl next door mixed with librarian.”

He turned toward the next passenger, “be more like her.” This girl was beautiful. Long blond hair, wide green eyes, pouty pink lips. Would it be unprofessional to moan? “What’s up,” she asked looking around the deck of the boat. “Ummmmmm……….Nothing much, please enjoy the ride.”

She smiled brightly at him, “I really hope soooo,” she looked down for his name tag, “Micheal.” She patted him on the shoulder playfully and ran off toward her friend. He smiled after her longingly. This ride really was going to be very different then any other spin around bay.

Chapter 2

Liz walked along the rail of the boat and tried to keep her eyes on the sea and away from him. He looked slightly familiar but she couldn't place where she'd seen him before.

Maria came bouncing toward her happily, "hasn't this been fun Chica?" "Yeah," she answered distractedly. He had gotten up from the chair he was in and walked to the railing opposite of her.

"Maria," Liz leaned in conspiritally, "does that guy behind me look familiar to you?" "What guy where," she practically screamed turing around in a complete circle.

"MARIA," but it was too late. He was looking directly at us, smiling broadly. "Oh that guy, you don't know who that guy is?" She went on, not waiting for Liz's response. He was peoples most beautiful man this year, the richest person in America under 20, and The Isabel Evans little brother." She looked at Liz disapprovingly, "how could you not know that?"

"It's not that......." "Where you two dicussing me," he asked cutting into what she was about to say. Liz tried not to drool, he was even more handsome up close if that was possible.

He smiled when she didn't answer but looked up at him gape mouthed as if he were some kind of diety that'd graced her with the gift of his voice. Maria looked at them and smiled, "I'll let you two talk," with that she hightailed it to the otherside of the boat to watch from a safe distance.

"Are you O.K Miss?" Max was used to getting this reaction from women and smugly smiled as she grasped for words. "I saw you and you looked familiar but I couldn't place you so I asked mt freind if she knew."

"Your freind told you all about how I was named the most beautiful man, richest person under 20, and I recently got a part in the next StarWars movie?" "She forgot to tell me about the last one," Liz breathed out slowly.

"She wouldn't have known, I just got the call about two hours ago as I was leaving my hotel room at the Ritz and getting into my 2003 Jaguar," he took a breath, did I forget to mention it's a 1st edition?"

"Yeah but I know now," Liz said as she turned away from him slowly. Who did this guy think he was? There was a stretch f quiet before he reached into his front jacket pocket and looked around before uncapping it and taking a swig.

"You want some," he asked shoving the continer at her. Liz recoiled from the strong alchol smell emanateing from the bottle. "What is that," she asked.

"It's Vodka," he said, a smile covering his face, "I snuck it aboard." She smiled at him sarcastically, "I'm very proud of you but they have the rule of no drinking aboard incase something happens and we have to swim."

He pshhaa'd me and took a nothing gulp, "look at the sky lady, nothing is going to happen where we have to swim." Just as the words left his mouth the boat hti somthing and they thrown down.

The captain came running from the steering room and glanced at sll the passengers and his crew. Liz hadn't been as afraid until she saw the look on his face. "Please people," he struggled to keep his cool as he threw out life vests.

"We hit an under water coral reef on our starboard side." "What are you saying," Maria scereamed. He looked at us, "I'm saying that the ship is taking on water very quickly and that we're all going down."

Chapter Three

Liz took a deep breath to quiet her suddenly quesy stomach, they were all about to sink. She quickly grabbed the lifevests being thrown out to them and put it on as the boat moaned and groaned on it's decent to the bottom of one the Hawaii's beautiful Oceans.

The capyain was screaming at the two workers to hurry with the lifeboat when it fell from the hold and cracked down the middle. It seemed as if the entire deck breathed out at the same moment.

"You do have another lifeboat right?" He looked at her with the same look he had on his face when he came to tell them they were sinking. "That's the only one Miss."

It was very still for a moment before Maria flew at him, "No lifeboats, what kind of captain are you? What kind of boat ride is this without percautions, how are we going to survive this?"

He held her at bay as she slumped into him and began to cry, "what's going to happen to us?"

He stroked her head and Liz found herself jelous. She wished she was the one being held, being comforted........being taken care of.

She gasped as another icy cold wave hit the ship and drenched them all. Theres an inflatable in the bottom of the boat but it'll be dangerous. Some of us might be thrown from the raft.

"Who cares," Isabelle screamed from the railing of the boat. "at least a few of us need to survive this now get it out!"

Alex loked from her to Micheal and saw the slight nod of his head before running down below deck. The ship jerked dangerously as they impatiented waited for the device to be set up.

The whole bottom half of the vessle was now submerged and the top half was going down fast. As if this wasn't bad enough, the sky was beginning to darken menaceingly and the waves it seemed were growing by the minute.

As soon as it was ready the four girls boarded followed close behind by the guys. They quickly pushed the raft as far away from the boat as possible and watched, through the sudden sheets of rain pouring on him, the ship sink into the waves.

"Bye, Bye ship," Max screamed at the top of his lungs and stood in the raft to wave bye to it. "Sit down asshole!," Micheal screamed and tried to grab him.

"Don't touch me," he yelled and began to try squirming out of his grasp. "Stop fighting Max and sit," Isabelle screamed trying to keep the worry from her voice. He was obviously drunk and in this sudden storm he was teetering close to the edge of the raft.

"NOOOOO," he screamed and backed away from them right into the water. "MAAAAAAXXXXXXX!!!!!" Isabel screamed and looked over the edge at him floating farther and farther from the raft.

"Somone get him, I can't swim," she screamed desperately looking at all the guys left in the raft. When no one spoke up Liz stood and pulled off her coat which was closely followed by her skirt and sensible highheels.

"I'll go get him," with that she lept from the raft and disappeared into the waves.

Damn you guy's. I'm really trying to put time between my updates so I won't you all but you're making it very hard for me. I really love this story though and the real fun will will be begin once they get on the island which, hopefully, isn't to far away.

Chapter Four

Liz surfaced the roaring waves and looked around for him once more, he was nowhere to be found. She pushed her hair from her face and dunk back under the swelling waves and finally she spotted him.

He was unconciously floated under the surface as she quickly swam towards him and grabbed him under the arms as she kicked her way to the surface.

The driving rain impaired her senses, she couldn;t see the raft anymore. Liz was beginning to panic. She couldn't survive out here alone let alone with a blacked out drunk hanging on to her.

She began to violently shake him, "get up Max, get up!" She screamed over and over, pleading with him to help her because she couldn't do this on her own. He started making a groggy sound deep in the back of his throat.

She gasped happily and started to shake him harder, "wake up, you have to swim." He opened his eyes and glanced at her unsure of where he was. Then it all came back. The boat going down, him falling from the raft, "did you fall from the raft?" he asked quietly.

She slapped him hard across the face, "you have to snap outta this Max, the raft is gone. They were pushed away by the current and the rain or something but the fact is that we are lost alone in the middle of the ocean in a storm all by ourselves and I can't promise that I will be able to keep up with you. You have to help me Max........please."

He was trying to keep himself under control with all the new information she'd just given him. They were lost and the boat was gone. A crushing despair was starting to overtake as she said that last word to him, "please."

He took a deep breath and began to swim in unison with her over the choppy seas when they saw the broken life boat bopping upside down over the waves. "Grab on," Max screamed loudly and dragged her behind him to the little boat.

They worked together to turn it right side and scrambled inside when it began to quickly go under. They jumped from the and flipped it back on it's top. "We'll lay across the bottom of the boat on seaperate ends of the boat to try and even out the weight."

She nodded her head and slowly cloimbed onto the for edge of the boat. He made sure was secure before he climbed up on the other side and laid very still. They held onto the boat for dear life and looked at eachother throught the pouring rain.

It was hot.

The boat barely moved on the windless oceans and Liz almost wished for the choppy seas and rain of the night before. Her naked thighs and her shirtless back burned from the unfiltered sun that'd been beaming on them for the past who knew how long. She tried not to move her aching head as she glanced at Max.

He'd taken off the leather pants at some point early this morning and he'd lost the black silk shirt he'd been wearing in the storm last night. All he had on was black breifs and she knew the sun must have been getting to her because when she looked over his barely covered form she felt only mild excitment.

He began to move around jerkily almost throwing her off the boat, "stop moving around she screamed loudly," the cool water would be a releif but if she got into it she feared she would drink it or maybe even drown. "I see land Liz."

I jerked my head upward at his words, "what did you say?" He turned to me, a huge smile painted in his face, "land, I see land, I see land, I see land."

She carefully got to her knees and shaded her eyes to look at the wide curving sand on the beach os the island that was maybe 300 paces away from them. She turned toward him, beaming. "Well what are we waiting for, lets start paddling," he said as they turned the boat around toward the land carefully and used their arms as paddles to get there.

Thank all of you for the feedback. I'm glad to see you all are enjoying reading this as much as I'm enjoying writing it. Please keep it up.*tongue*

Chapter Five

Isabel tried hard not to snap at this Alex guy, he was just trying to ease everyones discomfort from floating in this damn raft long had they been in this raft?

She took a deep breath and tried not to think about it. They were (4) four people crammed a boat for two and the worst of all, Liz and Max were lost. Isabel refused to beleive that they were dead and the others stopped trying to convince her.

It was the same with Maria. They'd bonded after Liz jumped in after Max and after they realized the two weren't coming back. Tess, Micheal, and Kyle tried to tell them the two were dead, that they'd drowned in the ocean but Maria wasn't hearing it.

She said that if Liz was dead, she would've felt it and I realized that if Max was dead I would have to. The others trying to convince us after awhile and she was gratful. The last thing she needed was Tess, who supposedly loved Max, telling her that he had died and "to get over it."

She felt her eyes drifting closed and tried to stay awake. She needed to stay on the lookout for land or The CoastGuard or somthing. She saw a small fish swimming beside the boat and began to focus on it beofre she heard the blast of a loud horn and her head flew up.

The CoastGuard.

They were saved! Everyone quickly but skillfully stood up in the boat and began waving and screaming at the huge red boat not more then 300 pasces away from them and saw a lookout wave back.

Maria hugged me as they turned the ship our was and started to slowly approach us, we were about to get rescued but the hard part was about to begin, the search for Max and Liz.

We arn up on shore through the waves and she collasped on the sand. Liz didn't think she'd ever been more happy to see sand I her entire life. She glanced over at Max and saw him doing a little jig. She rolled over on her back and laughed as she looked up at the sky.

They hadn't died, they'd survived what would probably be the nost harrowing thing they'll ever go through in their lives, and came out alive. She savored the thought before getting to her feet and running over to Max.

"We have to go look for people so we can the hell outta here!" He turned toward me and smiled as he grabbed my hand and we set along the curving ribbon of sand.

He was apnting as they finally made it back to the point they started out at early in the middle of the day. He wasn't sure what time it was now but Max was sure it was past midnight. "This island is deserted."

She gave no expression that she'd heard what I said and sat down on the beach. He looked down at her and sighed loudly, "I know this seems hoeless but we can do this Liz." "We can do this Max," she asked, angrilly getting to her feet, "tellme exactly how we're going to get through this."

I stumbled around for words before clamping my mouth shut, "I don't know Liz but I know that if we stick together we can survive this." She looked at him disgustedly, "how can I 'stick with you' Max?" "I can hardly stand the sight of you right now."

She spat the venemous words out at him and plopped back down on the beach. The words stung because they were the truth. She would've still been on that raft if she hadn't jumped after him. She wouldn've been safe and he probably would've been dead.

Max looked at the starfiled sky for a moment before turning on his heel and heading into the forest. He had to think right now.

Thanx so much for the replies and I'm glad that me straying from the original challenge didn't blow up in my face. I was already to follow it word for word but I didn't want the others on the island messing things up for them.*wink*

Chapter Six

Liz laid under the stars and impatiently waited for his return. What the hell was he doing out there in the jungles all alone. There could be natives or horrible killers out there somewhere like on the Blue Lagoon and it was bad enough that he'd dragged her into this but he definitely wasn't going to die and leave her alone.

She got to her feet and began to pace nerveously, the longer he was gone the more upset she became before he came bonding out of the jungles and scaring her half to death, "I found somthing Liz."

She looked at him crazily, "what are you talking about?"

Max could hardly contain himself, he'd found a building. There was a big what might have once been a hotel in the middle of the jungle and he'd come upon it while pondering ways to get her to forgive him. What would be a better peace offering then a bed?

"I found a place for us to sleep tonight." Her face lit up and I felt my own smile getting wider, "you forgive me?"
She blinked at his queston but let a smile form on her mouth, "it was my choice to jump in after you, I surely couldn't let you die out there."

He smiled at her and raised his face to the skies, "I really am very sorry about this though Liz." "Don't sweat it Max, being sorry won't get us off this island we have alot of work to do."

He nodded his approval before she grabbed his hand and they made their way back into the jungle toward the hotel.

It took maybe 30 minutes for them to reach it and when they did Liz gasped, it was beautiful, or at least it used to be. Vines had begun to creep up it's sides and cover the wide windows that no longer had any glass in them.

"It's great huh" he asked looking at her through the side of his eye. "Yeah," she said slowly, "it's beautiful." He looked absolutely delighted and she wanted to smile at him and squeeze his hand but she didn't. The last thing they needed between them was any sort of romance.

He looked down at her flushed and happy face and wondered what she'd do if he bent down to kiss her. If she'd push him away or kiss back. "Let's go in," she said. He could see the adventurous sparkle that had lit in her eye as she began to grag him in beside her.

"No Liz, it's too dark, lets stay on the beach tonight and tomorrow we'll explore in the light of day." She looked dissappointed and bent her bottom lip at him. "Don't pout at me Liz, you know it's not safe now."

She looked around and slowly agreed.

Liz didn'y know why she'd been flirting with him. He was conceited, and a drunk, and he'd got her into this horrendous situation even if she had forgiven him for it she hadn't forgotten it. They began their walk back to the beach and she realized he still hadn't released her hand.

She tried to gently tug it free and he turned his head to look at her, smiled, and only held on tighter. Maybe they were making some sort of bond between them, some platonic bone between a man and a woman who were stuck on a deserted island together.

"Yeah Liz, whatever you say," she thought glumly then she stopped dead in her tracks with her next thought. Sean. Her boyfreind of the last three years Sean. The Sean she had been seriously thinking of accepting his marriage proposal before the innocent trip to Hawaii Maris'd talked her into.

"You O.K Liz," Max asked, concern written on his face. She looked up at him then, and he had Tess. The fake blond from the boat, he had a girl and she had a guy. That was enough of a reason along with their circumstances to tell her it was a bad idea for them to get involved.

"No Max, I'm fine." He smiled gently and this time when she tried to tug her hand free and he held on she tugged harder until he let go. She looked down, they couldn't be together..............ever.

Chapter Seven

**He ran his hand along the hard peak of my left nipple and I tried to hold the gasp in as he took it into his skilled mouth. I felt him smile against me and knew that he knew. "Sean," I breathed out. he looked up and I was greeted by deep amber eyes and a perfect smile, "Liz."**

"Liz!!!!!" She awoke with a start. "I heard you moaning over here, I thought you might've been dreaming about the crash or something." She was looking around, gaining her bearings, "I wasn't dreaming about the crash."

"What then," he asked gently and reached out his hand to touch the high spoltches of red on her cheeks and forehead. She was in that place where you're not quite dreaming but you're not quite awake. That place where you don't even think to lie. "I was dreaming about you."

A blank stunned look came across his face and when she saw it, that woke her up real quick, "you know, I was dreaming about Sean, my boyfreind back home." He smiled softly and looked anywhere but at her, "oh."

There was silence and then he looked back, smile in place but she knew it wasn't real and she wanted kick herself. "We'll it's dawn or little past anyway so lets go check out this hotel."

A big smile came over face then and she took the hand he was offering to help her up and quickly let it go afterward, "yes, lets go."

Isabel sat in the CoastGuard station holding on tight to Maria who seemed to be holding back just as tight. They'd told them they were going to search and there was a good chace of them recovering Max and Liz but Maria'd garnered the truth out of him.

He finally told them that there was a little less than 20% chance that they'd find them if they'd survived which was very unlikely seeing the storm that'd raged that night. He told then also that if they'd died, they would probably never recover their bodies.

She was trying hard to fight the tears that wanted to cascade down her face when a thought popped into her head, "where was Tess?"

The brickwall was scratching her back painfully but that only intensified the pleasure for her, Max had never wanted to slap her around in bed like she'd wanted.

He backhanded her and she smiled softly, she'd finally found someone who would. Her walls clenched and she climaxed loudly. He kept going until he came along with her, "that was great..............what's your name again?"

She smiled as he slowly let down, "my names Tess." He wiggled his eyebrows at her and pushed her up against the wall again, "well Tess, ya got a man?"

She looked down the deserted ally to the biker bar she'd just come out of with Mitch or Mike, maybe even John and then turned back. "Nope......... how would you say, our relationship, it went under."

"Tess is a really great girl,I hate to think of the pain she must going through," Max said as they treked back to the hotel. He'd told Liz that she was 17 whenthey'd met and he'd been a year older than her. They'd met when they were seniors in highschool last year and they'd both gone to the same college.

"Your turn," he prodded when I didn't begin my lifestory. "Oh yeah. Ummmm I was born Elizabeth Marie Parker in Roswell New Mexico. I'm 22 and a professor at Stanford, the youngest ever I might add."

He smiled and she went on, "Thats where I met Sean, he was another professor, he's 30. She saw him wince fromthe corner of her eye. "What, 30 isn't old." "I kow it's not, it's just to old for you." They looked at eachother a moment before she broke the silence, "We're here."

He looked up, "that we are. Lets enter then." "Fine," Liz answered a little to loudly and pushed in a head of him.

In case you didn't realize it, the person outside the biker bar on the last part was Tess, just in case you didn't notice. Todays the big day, they're going to explore the hotel today. Here we go. This is short, I know, but I'll try and make the next part longer.

Chapter Eight

Liz carefully avoided the broken glass all over the loby of the hotel. There were murals of the ocean and of mermaids painted all over the walls.

They were overgrown with ivy but that didn't take away from it, it added mystery. What had happened here?

"It's great huh," Max asked her, while looking around him. "It really is, what do you think happened here?"

He was quiet for a moment while he thought and then answered, "don't know, maybe they closed it cause they went bankrupt or something."

She sighed softly, "I guess." Liz looked up at the high ceilings and the crystal chandelirs.

"This place must have really been something in it's day." She smiled at him, "you took the words right out of my mouth Max."

He looked down at her with a look on his face she couldn't read and grabbed her hand, "lets go look around at the rooms."

"Kay," she said softly and let herself be lead upstairs. The wide curving staircase once was covered with red velvet or some material like it.

Now only tufts of red poked through the mold that's grown over it.

She tiptoed through it and made a mental note to try and make shoes out of something.

Walking around a jungle barefoot was really hard work. They must have looked through 20 rooms that day. The cool thing was they each had diffrent themes.

One would be the jungle room, the next wood be the lace room, and so on and so forth.

Liz was giddy, she couldn't wait to pick hers. They got to the top floor and saw there was only one door in long corridor, this was it. The Penthouse.

"God it's hot up here," Max said and useed his hand as a makeshift fan. It really was burning up here as they made their way to the door and pushed through it.

It was absolutely gorgeus.

The walls were red with gold streamed through them in patterns of leaves and flowers, Max wouldn't be shocked if it was real gold.

They were in, what he guessed, would've been the sitting room. There were big plush red velvet chairs and a hard wood coffee table that he was almost sure was a polished mahoganey.

"This place is awesome," Liz breathed out and pulled away from him. She walked to the opposite side of the room and pushed open one of the doors, "Max," she squeled, the bedrooms blue."

He ignored her for a moment as she ran in and went through another door into a kitchen.

There was a small table with two chairs, just enough for them. He covered the floor quickly to the sink and turned the knob, nothing came out.

Their had to be a freshwater well around here somewhere, they'd just have to find it. He then went to the stove and turned it on.

No fire but when he leaned in he could smell the pungent oder of natural gas, they'd hit the jackpot!!

"Max," Liz screamed and grabbed his hand. "This is my room, I call." He looked at her like she had two heads, "this is our room Liz, the kitchens gas pipelines are ruptured are something they work in here so guess what," he said as he walked across the room to the bedroom and saw that it looked like the front from only in blue.

The gold designs were in hearts and stars and the big bed in the middle of the room was a canopy with tattered white misquito gauze hanging over it.

He flopped down on it and put his hands behind his head, the bed was amazing soft. " I'm staying here, that doesn'tmean you have to though."

She put her hands on her hips, the fun of today vanishing, "I called it!" "Well then," he patted the bed next to him with a lude smile, "get on in then cause I'm staying and from what I can tell theres only one room here."

Thank you guys for the bumps and the replies. I really do appreciate them so much. Um, BelevnDreams, the hotel is from that period when ladies used to use parasols and wear hoop skirts. That was the early 19OO's I think.

Chapter Nine

Liz agreed, finally, to share the room and the bed so we moved on to more pressing matters, like finding clothes.
Max, for one, was sick of walking around in breifs.

He glanced over at Liz who was trying to pry up the lid of a chest in the corner of the room, he wasn't sick of seeing her in that bra and those panties though.

Damn, sacrifices had to be made.

She fell back when the top pretty much dissenegrated in her hands and began to jump up and down happily, "Theres clothes Max, and lots of em."

He ran over to her and began rummaging through it. He winced when he got a good look through them, "these are clothes, like, from the 1900's or somthing."

She lookede at him and began to speak slowly, "Duh Max, Look at the reat of this hotel. What, did you think the last time people had been here was last year?"

He looked at her and smiled sarcastically, "yes Liz, that's exactly what I thought that's why I came and asked you. You know, seeing as though you're so old, I knew that you'd know."

He watched her puffing up in anger and pretended to start going through the chest again when he found a childs dress and put it in front of Liz, "did you wear somthing like this when you were little?"

Her hand came out, palm up, to slap him but he caught her by the wrist and dragged her to her feet in front of him.

"I am not old Max, I'm 22," she practically scremed while flailing around in his grasp, trying to hit him. "Well that's old to us 19 year olds Liz." He was just kidding of course, having the best time he'd had in awhile getting her this riled up.

"I'm not old, I'm young and firm and beautiful." He pushed he against the wall and grabbed her breast, "yes you are firm, and very beautiful." With that he bent his head down and kissed her.

They'd finally forced Isabel and Maria out of the CoastGuards building into a total media frenzy.

Isabel and an unidentified woman have just stepped from the building, we're going now to try and get a quote.

She made her way to the front of the crowd and stuc her mic between the two girls.

Is ittrue that your brother and a female by the name of Liz Parker who is the youngest professor ever to be gired by a college dead?

"Not dead," Maria practically screamed, "there sstill a chance for their recovery."

Isn't it that in a ocean accident theres practically nill chance of finding survivors after the first day?

She stuck the mic back between them and Isabel answered since Maria seemed frozen, "you are correct but theres always that one% and I beleive that Max and Liz will be that one%

What will you do if it's discovered that they are dead?

"That's enough of the questions," a male voice shouted over the crowd. They looked back and saw Alex, "now let the ladies thorugh.

They let themselves be shuffled through the crowd and all three got into the car waiting for them. Maria watched the crowd fade behind them and let herself wonder.

If they were alive, what were they doing?

This really had not been his plan, to be making out with Liz parker. He hadn't made thise comments just to goad her into this, he'd just wanted to piss her off. He couldn't lie though, this was an hell of an incentive.

He gently bit her bottom and used the small moan she gave as an intrence into her mouth. She let his tongue take dominence over her own.

What the hell was going on?

The though kept running through her head that she should stop this but she never did make a move. Just stood there, stock still, and let this guy kiss her.

Kiss her like she'd never been kissed before.

He slowly moved his mouth away and looked down at her, "Liz?"

There was a question in his voice, a question that she didn't want to answer so she moved away. "These clothes are in pretty good shape, I think we'll be able to use them."

He looked at her in shock, what was going on?

"Don't you think so?"

Her eyes did't quite meet his own and he bent down next to her as he turned her face up to his own, "Liz, we can't pretend that theres nothing between us now."

She didn't say anything but moved her face from my grasp, "I know," she whispered.

"Now can we please talk about something else?"

He sighed and let her change the subject, he would get her to talk about this soon though.

Thanx for the bump!!!!! And heres chapter 10.

"Lets play dress up!!"

She knew that she was no lobger five years old playing in her moms closet but when she saw the old dresses and parasols, something took her over. Max was looking at her like she was insane but it didn't detered her.

"Come on Max."

He scrunched his nose up at the clothes they'd found.

"They're old and dirty and me playing dress up with you would be kinda gay Liz."

She sighed loudly, "What is it with some boys and thinking some things make them look gay, besides, I'm the only other person here and I promise I won't think you're think gay."

She could see he was pretty much on her side, he just needed that extra push in the right direction.

"Cooooooooome ooooonnnnnn Maxwelllllllll!!!"

He smiled slightly at her and she started to jump around, she'd won!

"Goddammit Liz, get your ass down here!"

Max had been sent down stairs to wait for Liz to get ready. He straitened the gray tweed jacket he was wearing that was slightly to small for him and glanced at the watch that was no longer on his wrist.

He'd lost it on the boat, had to remember that!

They were playing 'ball' and he was Liz's date to this thing, if anyone saw him.........he stopped short, no one would. They were on a deserted island for God's sake.

That's when he heard her clear her throat at the top of the stairs and when he saw her his jaw dropped.

She was beautiful.

The dress was red with a tight push-up bodice and a wide skirt. She'd brushed her hair back and was twirling a small black parasol teasingly on her right shoulder.

When she got to the ottom of the stairs he grabbed her arm.

"Why thank you sir."

He smiled down at her, "this is really stupid Liz."

Even as he said it he could hear in his voice that it wasn't true and he could see that she heard it too.

"Well it's soo late to back out now Max, we ahve to leave now or we'll be late for the ball."

He smiled as she moved one step over and proclaimed happily, "here we are."

He laughed and grabbed her hands as he began to twirl her around on the floor.

"This is just like Titanic."

He muttered and let go of her hands.

She laughed, "I'm so sorry Max, this is nothing like Titanic."

He cocked his head to the side and slowly moved back toward her.

"We can dance again as long as you promise never to compare me to Leonardo Dicaprio again," he said while shivering slightly.

He grabbed her hands again as they spun around on the floor and she began to sing along with their movements.

**I have a smile
stretched from ear to ear
to see you walking down the road**

He spun her out and she laughed as he pulled her back in.

**we meet at the lights
I stare for a while
the world around disappears**

He listened to the words she was singing and tried to think what she was trying to tel him.

**just you and me
on this island of hope
a breath between us could be miles**

Her eyes were closed and he glanced down at her peaceful face.

**let me surround you
my sea to your shore
let me be the calm you seek**

Her voice kind of cracked and he smiled, he'd never seen her look like this before.

**oh and every time I'm close to you
there's too much I can't say
and you just walk away**

She didn't know what made this particular song pop into her head but it seemed to explain so many things.

**and I forgot
to tell you
I love you
and the night's
too long
and cold here
without you
I grieve in my condition
for I cannot find the strength to say I need you so**

Was he shaking? Was she singing this song to him?

**oh and every time I'm close to you
there's too much I can't say
and you just walk away**

"Liz," she didn't seem to hear him as she went on.

**and I forgot
to tell you
I love you
and the night's
too long
and cold here
without you**

They'd stopped dancing and she slowly opened her eyes onto his questioning face.

"What was that Liz?"

She turned away from him and looked out the window.

"No Liz, we ahve to talk now."

She looked up at him imploringly, "please?"

She tried to walk away by the grabbed her, "not this time Liz.''

She looked up at him and they stood still for a moment.

She kissed him.

Liz didn't know what came over her, why she just kissed this kid when she had a boyfriend waiting at home but she just kept going.

The question was in his voice and she succumed to it.

"Anything you want."

He pulled away fro her, smiled, picked her up, and carried her up the stairs.
