Title: Egyptian Romance
Disclaimer: I don't own the Characters of Roswell. If I did I would be rich and happy! Nor do I own anything having to do with The Mummy. It belongs to Stephen Sommers. I'm just borrowing his awesome idea.
Rating: PG-13. maybe R
Summary: Liz is an archeologist looking for Adventure. Max is a handsome gun slinger she hired to lead the way and for protection. He's the only person alive who knows the way to the Lost City. Alex is Liz's brother, who's along for the ride as is Isabel, Liz's best friend. Michael is Max's partner and Maria is Michael's wife. I got this idea from watching The Mummy. But there is no Mummy, only a ghost.
James and Jack belong to me. Tess is the reincarnated wife of Pharaoh, and James is the reincarnated brother of Pharaoh.
Feedback is necessary for me to continue.
Over 4000 years ago a great king ruled over Ancient Egypt. Pharaoh ruled over his people with an iron hand but he did this to keep order. He had managed to obtain riches that no other Pharaoh after him could even fathom. His brother was very jealous of him not only because of his wealth, but because he was to marry the most beautiful woman in the kingdom.
Princess Avaria was loved by all who saw her, and Pharaoh knew from the first moment he laid eyes on her she had to be his. This was why Pharaoh's brother wouldn't speak to him, for he was also in love with Princess Avaria. She had captured his heart many moons ago.
Avaria and Pharaoh's brother made a pact that on her wedding night she would find out the location of Pharaoh's wealth and then kill him. Then they would run off with the riches and live the lives they were meant to live. Pharaoh found out about the plan and on the wedding night he planed a surprise for them. His bodyguards would be waiting for two of them when they entered the room
His plans were foiled when instead of choosing his room Avaria called him to her room. He wouldn't give the location to the lost city and Avaria killed him. His bodyguards found both she and Pharaoh's brother trying to escape the city and had them both killed.
Part 1: (Cairo Egypt, 1923)
Elizabeth Whitman waited at the dining room table for her brother Alex to join her. He was running late as usual. Liz tried to wait patiently but she was getting hungry and if Alex didn't move his rear end they would be late for their meeting.
"Alex! Hurry up! I'd like to eat before we meet these people," she yelled.
"All right, all right. Relax my dear sister. I'm coming," he said strolling into the room.
"And what's got you all happy this morning?" Liz asked him.
"Nothing," he replied sitting next to her at the table.
He reached for a cup and poured himself some coffee. Liz looked at him questioningly and poured herself some tea. They ate in relative silence all the while Liz looked at her brother wondering what he was up to.
They finished with their meal and rushed out the door. Liz climbed into the passenger seat of the car while Alex drove them to the designated meeting place. She had never met Mr. Maxwell Evans, but he came highly recommended. He was a great shot and she knew that he could be trusted to protect her and her crew. Well, not really her crew, since she didn't have one, it would just be herself, Alex, and Isabel who refused to stay in Cairo while Liz went on an adventure.
Alex had told her about Mr. Evans one morning after he showed her the map he had found. Liz was so excited to actually go on a dig that she didn't know what to do with herself. Alex needed her to go with him because she knew how to read Hieroglyphics, therefore she would be able to translate anything he found. She didn't mind though, this was the first step to getting more field experience so she could get her own dig funded.
That was the problem with being a female archeologist, not too many people would let you join an expedition and you couldn't get a dig funded unless you had field experience, so she jumped at Alex's offer. He pretty much told her that she'd be in charge since he hated all that stuff, they just said it was his expedition so they could get funding.
Alex stopped the car in front to the Cairo museum and helped Liz out of the car. They were meeting Mr. Evans in a little restaurant across the street. Liz looked at the museum and cringed. She used to work there and the Curator was just the meanest man in the world. To this day she wouldn't go back there.
"Alex are you sure Mr. Evans is reliable?" Liz asked her brother.
"Yes, he came highly recommended from a lot of different people. He does have the reputation of a cowboy but men like that will stick to their word. Besides he knows the way, he's been there before, or so I've been told," Alex said.
"How can you be so sure. I mean not that I believe in all that stuff about the Lost City being haunted by a Ghost or anything, but supposedly anyone who goes there never comes back," Liz said.
"I know, strange isn't it. But supposedly this man has been there and come back alive so you know he's strong and knows how to protect himself," Alex told her.
Liz just rolled her eyes. She used to love to hear stories about The Lost City as a child. Her mother used to tell them to her and it had always fascinated her. Now she was actually going to try and find this place. She could hardly believe it.
Liz followed Alex through the doors and waited with bated breath for her first look at Maxwell Evans. She had heard that he was handsome, but she personally had never seen him.
"Ah there he is," Alex exclaimed walking in Maxwell's direction.
When they reached the table Liz looked up and gasped at the sight before her eyes. Her eyes locked with the most beautiful pair of hazel eyes she had ever seen. They looked like they were flecked with Gold, and they held her captive.
"Hello. I'm Max Evans, and I take it you are Elizabeth Whitman," he said extending his hand.
Liz blushed at being caught staring. That so wasn't like her, but she had to admit the rumors didn't do him justice. He was more beautiful then anyone could have explained. His dark brown hair was cut short and a few bangs curled against his forehead making Liz want to reach up and brush them away.
She shook herself from her thoughts and concentrated on answering Max. "Yes, I am. It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Evans," she replied.
Max smiled at her. He had been surprised at her youth and beauty as well, but he was better at hiding it. He was expecting some old spinster type woman, but not this young knockout.
"These are my partners, Michael and Maria Guerin," Max said pointing to them both.
"Pleased to meet you," Liz said shaking both their hands. "This is my brother Alex, and Isabel couldn't join us today, but she will be coming along as well. She's my best friend and refused to stay here in Cairo while I went on an adventure."
Liz rolled her eyes as she said that last bit causing Maria to laugh. Liz smiled at her and thought to herself that this trip was going to be fun. She just knew that she and Maria would become great friends. She wasn't sure about Isabel though. She knew she's throw the Ice Queen personality around, but Liz had a feeling Maria would put her in her place, and Liz just prayed that she and Izzy would become friends as well.
"Shall we start the meeting?" Alex asked.
I have most of part 2 done...leave me feedback and let me know if you like and want me to continue. Thanks! Jenn

Note: This part is pretty much transition. I had to get this meeting out of the way before all the fun action stuff could happen. I hope I didn’t lose anyone with this crap! LOL. Please leave feedback and let me know if you still like this! Jenn
Max extended his hand to the two empty chairs at the table inviting Liz and Alex to sit. He wasn’t sure he’d be able to make it through the meeting with Elizabeth sitting across from him. He would be too tempted to gaze at her, or hell he might just be tempted to kiss her.
“So anyway, what are you hoping to find on this trip?” Maria asked her boisterous voice braking though Max’s haze of thoughts.
“Well while all of Pharaoh Orisis’s wealth is supposedly buried in the Lost City there is a certain ring that holds the largest Ruby known to man. Legend has it that this ring holds special powers. I’m not too sure about the powers but I believe that something that precious should be displayed in a museum,” Liz replied excitedly.
“Really? Wow! So I bet there are lots of jeweled things out there. I’m so excited! I can’t wait for this to start,” Maria exclaimed.
Michael grunted in response to his wife’s exuberance, which only caused Maria to glare at him. Max laughed at his two best friends.
“Don’t mind them they are always like this,” Max explained. “I’d watch it Michael or else you’ll be sleeping on the couch.”
“Humph,” Michael sighed turning back towards the Whitman’s. “So why are you bringing two women along?” he asked Alex.
“Well Lizzy is probably the smartest person I know and she can read Hieroglyphics better then I can, and just the fact that she figured out what the map said,” Alex explained.
“Well that explains Elizabeth but what about Isabel,” Michael asked.
“Oh well once Isabel found out I was going on this dig she refused to be left behind,” Liz said. “And since my brother is in love with her he just couldn’t say no.”
Alex blushed lowering his head. He couldn’t believe Liz just said that to a bunch of strangers. He pinched her arm glairing at her. She yelped in pain rubbing the red spot on her arm where Alex pinched her.
“Ouch!” Liz yelled. “Jeez Alex it’s not like Isabel’s here to hear me.”
“That’s besides the point Lizzy dear, they didn’t need to know that information,” Alex bit out.
“Please, like they wouldn’t figure it out after being around the two of you for one day,” Liz retorted.
“You’ve got to love siblings,” Maria said. “You guys argue about as much as Michael and I do.”
“Well we don’t know them well enough to say something like that,” Max said. “But at least their arguing isn’t nauseating. You guys fight as a form or flirting or foreplay or something.”
“Shut up Maxwell,” Michael said. “So what’s the pay for this expedition?”
“Well we can give you $1500 each right now and you get a cut of whatever we find,” Liz told him.
“I can’t believe you. How rude was that!” Maria exclaimed smacking him upside the head.
“What! I know you were both thinking that. Besides it is something we need to know,” Michael said rubbing his head.
“Michael man, if you keep pissing your wife off she’s going to either start throwing knives at you or point a gun a you and then begin shooting,” Max said laughing. “And you know she’s a great shot because we both taught her.”
“You can shoot a gun?” Liz asked amazed.
“Yeah, Max and Michael taught me years ago. It’s not really that hard. I’ll give you some lesson’s during the trip,” Maria said.
“Thanks,” Liz replied smiling thinking that this trip just kept getting better and better.
Michael glared at Max but held his tongue. He didn’t want to take any more ribbing from Max and he knew that if he pissed Maria off anymore he’d really be in deep shit. Alex noticed Michael holding his tongue and he thought it was funny how a tiny slip of a girl had that much power over a man like Michael Guerin.
“Ok, well now that everything is settled I guess the only thing left to do is pick a date to leave,” Max said his eyes never leaving Liz’s face.
Liz looked up and noticed Maxwell looking at her and felt her face flame. She knew she was blushing but she couldn’t tear her eyes away from his. It felt like the world stopped and faded away leaving just the two of them.
A throat being cleared broke them out of their little world. Liz blushed and looked down at the table. She didn’t know what was coming over her but she wasn’t acting like herself at all. She chanced to look up and caught Maria’s gaze. Maria had a knowing smile on her face and Liz gave her a small-embarrassed smile while trying to remember the question.
“I’m sorry what was the question?” Liz asked.
Michael laughed at Liz’s obvious spacey ness. “There wasn’t a question. We were going to figure out when to leave.”
“Oh,” Liz said thoroughly embarrassed. “Well, how long will you need to get everything together?”
“Michael you ass! Don’t embarrass Miss Whitman like that,” Max hissed.
“It should only take us about a week to get all the supplies that we need,” Maria said.
“Great! So then lets plan on leaving next Wednesday then,” Liz exclaimed happily.
Alex looked at his sister and smiled. He loved how excited Liz was about this dig. She had this gleam in her eyes that made them sparkle and her cheeks got rosy. She was breathtaking.
Max thought so as well. She radiated this glow when she got excited and Max hoped that he’d get to see a lot more of that glow on this expedition.
“Alex, Elizabeth, it has been a pleasure meeting you. I will contact you on Monday to find out if there is anything you need us to pick up,” Max said extending his hand towards them.
“Thank you Mr. Evans it was a pleasure meeting you as well,” Liz said shaking his hand. “Mr. and Mrs. Guerin I’m excited to have you along as well.”
“Please call me Max or Maxwell. Mr. Evans makes me feel like you’re talking to my father,” Max told her.
“Oh and please call me Maria. I don’t care what you call my bone head husband, although Michael works quite nicely,” Maria said hugging Liz.
“Gee thanks a lot,” Michael replied gaining a chuckle from Alex.
“Very well. Until Wednesday then, Michael, Maria, Maxwell,” Alex said nodding his head at every one of them before leading Liz out of the restaurant.
“Can you believe this Alex. By this time next week we’ll be starting our expedition into the desert to find the Lost City!” Liz exclaimed.
“Lizzy dear, could you keep it down? We don’t want the whole world to know. Come on, we’ve got to tell Isabel that we are leaving in a week. You know she’s not going to be happy. Please help her pack, she needs to know she can’t take a lot of things with her,” Alex pleaded with his sister.
Liz nodded her head and climbed into the car. Alex jumped in and they sped off towards Isabel Parker’s residence. Liz was going to have her work cut out for her. Not only did she have to organize and collect all of the things she would need for this dig, but she needed to supervise what Isabel packed as well.
“Well, well, well, what is this? The Whitman’s have a little dig funded. James will be very pleased to hear this. He’s always trying to out do Alex Whitman. The Lost City, the most famous myth of all time. The supposed resting place of not only Pharaoh Orisis’s wealth, but his ghost as well. I need to find James and tell him the news,” a weasel looking man said smiling to himself. He just knew he was going to get rewarded for this little bit of news. Not only was Alex Whitman going on a dig to find the Lost City, but also he was bringing his beautiful sister along.
The man jumped out from his hiding place and hurried off down the ally behind the restaurant in search of his employer. Things were beginning to look up for him, he thought as he made his way to the Inn. James was definitely going to be pleased. The gold that he had been searching half his life to find will finally be within his grasp, the only thing he would need to do is get rid of those pesky Whitman’s.

Note: I’m excited that so many people are liking this! Thank you for your overwhelming support…it really means a lot to me. Well I’m going to stop talking now and give you what you want. Here’s the next part! Jenn
A car pulled up to a run down hotel and the driver jumped out running into the entrance. He ran up to the fifth floor and scanned the hallways. Once he was sure no one was around he proceeded to room 519 and knocked on the door.
The door swung open revealing a very pissed off woman with shoulder length blonde curly hair and ice blue eyes.
“He…hello Miss Harding. I’ve got some good news,” the man said.
The woman’s face brightened. “Good news! Well come in.”
“Tess darling who is it?” a deep voice questioned from the bedroom.
“James get out here. It’s Jack and he said he has some good news,” Tess called.
James came walking out of the bedroom to hear what his partner had to tell him. Jack gulped in some air while trying to steady his racing heart. No matter how long he’s known James Wilson the man still scared him. He was 6’4 with black hair that was always worn in a ponytail and cold black eyes. One look from James could have you fearing for your life.
“So what’s this good news I’m hearing about?” James asked.
“Well it seems that the Whitman’s are going on a little expedition,” Jack said.
“And why would we care about that?” Tess asked snidely.
“Well it looks as if they are searching for The Lost City,” Jack said. “But there is only one problem.”
“What problem? I don’t see a problem. In fact this is exactly what we need!” James exclaimed.
“Yes sir, I realize that but you see they have Maxwell Evans leading them,” Jack said.
“The Maxwell Evans?” Tess asked. “The handsome gunslinger that supposedly was in the Lost City?”
“Yes the very same one,” Jack replied sarcastically. He couldn’t stand Teresa Harding because she was such a bitch.
“Who’s going on this expedition?” James inquired.
“Well Evans is leading them and he’s bringing Guerin and his wife, I think Maria is her name. Then of course there is Alex and Elizabeth Whitman and Isabel Parker,” Jack said.
“Hmm…this is going to be very interesting. Ok, this is what we are going to do. We are going to follow them, not too closely because we don’t want them to know we’re there, but close enough that we don’t lose them. Then when we reach the Lost City we kill them all and keep the riches,” James said laughing. “It’s perfect!”
Jack nodded his head in agreement. “They are leaving in a week so we better start packing.”
The week seemed to fly for both Liz and Isabel. Liz wasn’t sure she had everything and ran around checking all the bags for the billionth time.
“Liz please! You know you haven’t forgotten anything. Now hurry up and eat so we can go!” Isabel yelled. She was still pretty upset that she only had a week to pack and the fact that Alex told her she couldn’t bring half of what she wanted really pissed her off.
“I’m coming! Jeez relax will you,” Liz said walking into the dining room.
She sat down at the table and picked at a muffin. She was too excited to eat. Alex plopped down at the table next pouring himself some coffee. “Good morning ladies,” he said.
“Good morning Alex,” Liz greeted her brother placing a small kiss on his cheek.
“I hope you slept well,” Isabel said. Alex and Liz both looked at her and smiled. Isabel realized what they were thinking and she blushed. “Pigs,” she mumbled.
Alex grabbed an apple and a muffin and headed to the front to pack the car. Isabel turned towards her best friend and glared at her.
“You are as bad as he is,” she scoffed.
“What can I say? He’s my brother and he taught me well. Besides you’re the one who asked how he slept can I help it if my mind wondered why you even care?” Liz said laughing.
“Oh shut up,” Isabel retorted.
“Come on ladies everything is packed. If we don’t leave now we will miss the boat,” Alex said walking back into the room.
Liz and Isabel got up from the table and headed to the car. Liz was a bundle of nerves. She was excited about the expedition and nervous about seeing Maxwell again. Today would be the first time in a week that she’s seen him and she didn’t know what to expect. As nervous as she was she couldn’t wait to see Maria again. She just made everything more fun.
“I can’t believe we have to leave as such an ungodly hour,” Isabel complained.
“Izzy if you are going to complain the whole trip please stay here in Cairo,” Liz said.
Isabel had a shocked look on her face. She couldn’t believe Liz had said that. She was supposed to be her best friend but ever since this expedition she had been acting differently. Well Isabel swore she’d get to the bottom of this.
“You never minded my complaining before,” Isabel said sounding hurt.
“I didn’t mean it like that Isabel. It’s not that I hate to hear you complain, it’s just that you volunteered to come on this journey. If I had asked you to come I wouldn’t mind the complaining, but I knew that you’d not like how hard, hot, and tiring it would be that’s why I didn’t ask. I know you’d complain a lot, and I didn’t want to put you though the uncomfortable ness of this trip. But you asked to come, so I really don’t want to hear complaining,” Liz explained.
Isabel though about what she said. “You’re right and I’m sorry. I will try to not complain anymore, but I can’t make any promises,” she said.
Liz smiled at her friend. “I never expected you to make a promise, for I know how much you love to complain, but I hope you have fun. Oh and I have a feeling Maria won’t stand for the Ice Princess routine you have so I wouldn’t try to use it with her,” Liz warned.
“Ice Princess routine? I don’t have an Ice Princess routine,” Isabel said.
This statement caused Alex to burst out laughing. “Yeah right! You so do. Everyone knows about it!”
Isabel scoffed and sat back in her seat. She knew she came off as cold sometimes but it was just her way of protecting herself. She didn’t do it on purpose, and Liz knew that. Yet from what Isabel’s heard about Maria she knew better then to try that with her. The woman could shoot a gun and throw knives, there was no way Isabel was going to go all Ice Princess on her, well not on purpose anyway.
Alex parked the car by the cargo hold of the ship. The porters unloaded their baggage and took it into the rooms while Alex went to find his friend who would take the car back to the house. Liz and Isabel waited for him to return. They weren’t sure of Mr. Evans or the Guerin’s were there yet so they just waited by the car.
“Hello ladies,” Maria called walking towards them.
“Maria!” Liz exclaimed.
Isabel got her first good look at Maria Guerin and she couldn’t believe that this little slip of a woman could do all the things Liz said she could. She wondered how it was possible for her to know all the things she did. Although by her attire she didn’t have to guess that she was very boyish.
Maria was in a pair of brown pants and a white button down shirt, with guns strapped to her sides. She looked like one of those cowboys in the movies. She even had a brown Stetson on her head.
Maria hugged Liz and stepped up to Isabel. “You must be Miss Parker. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said extending her hand.
“The pleasure is all mine,” Isabel said returning her handshake.
“The guys are getting things set up in the rooms. They told me to come and greet you and bring you aboard. Where’s your brother?” Maria explained.
“He’s looking for his friend. He should be here shortly. He needed someone to bring the car back to the house,” Liz explained.
“Here he comes,” Isabel said pointing at the crowd.
Alex walked up with his friend and handed him the keys. “Now Kyle, do not take my car for a joy ride. Just bring it to the house and park in the driveway. I’m serious. If there is anything wrong with it when I come back I’ll personally kick your arse,” Alex told him.
“Relax Alex, you’re car will be fine. Now go before the ship leaves without you. Hello Elizabeth, Isabel,” he said.
“Kyle,” both girls replied.
Maria led them onto the ship. “I guess I’ll show you our rooms first since they are before your rooms, and that way you’ll know where we are. This one here is my room, well Michael’s and mine anyway,” Maria said opening the door.
They saw Michael sitting on the couch looking really tired. He smiled his hello before kissing Maria and plopping back on the couch.
Isabel now realized why Maria was such a tomboy, she married an outlaw. Well maybe not really an outlaw but he had that look about him. He was rugged, tall, and very muscular.
Maria left Michael to rest making him promise to meet them for lunch in twenty minutes. He promised and headed to the bedroom to freshen up. Maria knocked on the next door.
“This is Maxwell’s room. I just want to make sure he’s decent before just walking in,” she said. “Max its Maria. I’m brining Alex, Elizabeth, and Isabel in so they know where you room!”
“That’s fine the door’s open,” he called.
Maria opened the door and Liz took in the room. It looked pretty much like Michael and Maria’s. There was a sitting area and off to the left was the bedroom. Max came walking out with his shirt unbuttoned and un-tucked.
“I apologize for my appearance, but Michael and I were rearranging the rooms. I just had to freshen up,” Max said.
“No need to apologize my man,” Alex said shaking his had.
“Miss Parker, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you,” Max said greeting Isabel.
“Thank you Mr. Evans. It’s a pleasure to meet you as well,” Isabel said shaking his hand.
Max’s eyes landed on Liz and the sight of her took his breath away. She was feeling the same way and her heartbeat kicked up a few notches when her eyes locked with his. She felt as if she couldn’t breathe. She noticed his eyes darken and she swore she saw desire reflecting in them.
“Miss Whitman, it’s nice to see you again,” Max said.
“The pleasure is all mine Mr. Evans. But please call me Elizabeth, or Liz. Miss Whitman is too formal,” she said.
“All right Elizabeth, but only if you call me Max or Maxwell,” he said.
“It would be my pleasure Maxwell,” she replied.
“Great! I’m going to show them to their rooms. You’ve got fifteen minutes to finish getting ready. We’re going to lunch, and make sure you get my husband, I don’t trust him to remember,” Maria said ushering everyone out of the room.
The minute the door was closed Max let out a shaky breath. This was going to be a very long trip, one in which he wasn’t sure he would be able to control himself. Elizabeth Whitman posed a very big threat to his bachelorhood. He has sworn to never marry it just complicated things. Well that and he was afraid to marry because his parents orphaned him when he was about four. He didn’t want to do something like that to his child; if he ever had one so he promised himself he’d never fall in love or marry.

Maria showed Liz, Isabel, and Alex to their rooms. Liz’s was the next room they came to. It was an adjoing room, and it was connected to Maxwell’s room. Liz wondered if he knew that or not but she didn’t let her mind dwell on it for too long. She followed Maria to Isabel’s room, which was connected to Alex’s, and Liz wondered if Maria chose her and Isabel’s rooms on purpose.
Once Isabel began to settle in and Alex went to his room to freshen up Liz excused herself to do the same. She told Isabel that she’d be back in about 10 minutes so don’t leave the room. Isabel agreed and went back to unpacking.
Maria joined Liz in her room and sat on the couch in the main part of the sitting room. Liz went into the bedroom and washed her face and then began to unpack her belongings. She knew she wouldn’t get it all done but she wanted to get it started so there was less to do later.
“So how do you like your rooms?” Maria asked.
“I like them just fine. I wasn’t expecting such big rooms, but these are very nice,” Liz replied.
“Yeah I know. Max really went all out, which isn’t like him but I wasn’t going to complain. So, do you like Max?” Maria asked.
Liz was quite for a bit. Does she like Max? That was a very good question. The moment she saw him her pulse began to race and her mind went completely blank. The only thought in her head at all was of Max.
“Well, I don’t really know him but I guess you could say I’m attracted to him,” Liz told her new friend.
“I thought so. I think he really likes you too, but I’m going to give you a warning. Max has sworn off love,” Maria said.
Liz gasped. This was not news she really wanted to hear. Even though she wasn’t sure how she felt about Max, she had no doubts that by the end of this trip her heart would be lost, it was already on its way.
“Really?” Liz questioned. “That’s so sad. Why would someone swear off love?”
“I’m not really sure. I think a part of it is that his parents didn’t really have a great marriage. They fought constantly and when Max was eight they had gotten into a huge fight and his mom threw a kerosene lamp at his father and set the house of fire. He was outside playing, thank God, so he wasn’t hurt, but both his parents died in that fire,” Maria told Liz.
“Oh my gosh. That is awful,” Liz said.
“Yeah it is, but you can’t tell him I told you that. He’d probably kill me. I have hope for him though. I keep telling him when you meet the right girl everything will change, and from the looks of it you just might be that girl. So just give him time, he’ll come around,” Maria said.
“Thank you Maria, for everything,” Liz replied.
“It’s no problem. Now lets go get Isabel and your brother. I’m starving and I want to see if Michael will actually be on time,” Maria laughed.
Liz joined her in laughing as they exited the room. “How did you meet Michael? If you don’t mind my asking,” Liz questioned.
“Well he and Max have been partners for many years and one day Max brought him home. My parents adopted Max, but allowed him to keep his fathers name since they are firm believers of not letting a name die out, and that’s how I met Michael. Of course he and I fought constantly and I tagged along on some of their jobs just so I could annoy Michael. My mother didn’t like this so Max and Michael taught me how to protect myself, by teaching me how to shoot, and throw knives, and things like that. I can punch as hard as most guys, although not as hard as Max or Michael, and now I always come because Michael and I can’t bear to be apart,” Maria explained.
“That is so romantic,” Liz confessed. “It’s beautiful. So I wonder why Max’s opinion of love and marriage didn’t change when he joined your family.”
“I don’t know. I guess because the memories of his family life scared him so deeply that the loving family I had couldn’t erase that,” Maria said.
“I guess,” Liz replied.
They stopped in front of Isabel’s door and knocked. She opened it moments later and walked out. “I’m ready,” Isabel said. “I’m so hungry!”
Liz laughed. Isabel didn’t usually confess things like that often so it was really funny when she did. The three of them walked to Alex’s room and knocked on the door. They waited a couple of minutes but Alex didn’t answer. Liz knocked again and harder this time. Still no answer, she was getting worried.
“Alex, open the door!” she yelled pounding on the door.
A few seconds later a frumpled Alex opened the door. “What is it?” he asked sleepily.
“Lunch remember? What did you fall asleep?” Liz asked.
“Lunch? Oh jeez yeah sorry I forgot. I collapsed on the bed and I guess I dozed off. I’ll be down in a few minutes. Let me just change my shirt and fix my hair. I don’t want to look like I just rolled out of bed,” he said.
“Ok that’s fine. We’ll meet you there. I have to make sure Max doesn’t forget my husband, or I’ll just kick his butt,” Maria said walking down the hall.
The girls walked to the dining room and sat down at an open table. Neither Michael nor Max were there yet so they just sat and waited. Liz ordered water since she was really thirsty but they were going to wait for everyone else before ordering anything else.
“So Maria how do you know Max and Michael?” Isabel asked. “Well I mean I know you are married to Michael, but how did you meet them?”
“Max is my brother, well my adopted brother, and Michael’s been his partner for years so that’s how I met him. It was kind of a love at first fight sort of thing,” Maria said.
“Really? I didn’t know you and Max were siblings. That’s so cool,” Isabel said.
“Yeah he joined our family when he was nine. I was eight. We’ve been really close ever since, and now that I’m married to his best friend and partner, and they take me everywhere I get to see him all the time still, and that makes both of us happy,” Maria said.
Max and Michael chose that moment to walk into the dining room. Alex was about two steps behind them. They spotted the ladies and walked over to the table. Michael bent down and gave Maria a kiss before taking the seat next to her. Max sat next to Michael, which just happened to be next to Liz as well, and Alex sat between Isabel and Liz. The waiter came back to the table and took drink orders. Maria, Michael, Alex, and Isabel got wine, and Max and Liz just got water.
“So what have you ladies been talking about?” Michael asked.
“Just how Maria met both you and Maxwell,” Isabel said.
“Ah, I see. So I guess you know then that Maxwell and my angel are siblings. It still seems weird to me, I mean they are both so different,” Michael said.
“Yes, but siblings are usually different. I mean take a look at Lizzy and Alex,” Isabel said.
“Hey I resent that,” Alex exclaimed.
“Well it’s true. I mean Lizzy is smart, serious, and responsible. She’s always got a plan for things, and she needs to be in control. You on the other hand are smart, funny, and totally not serious. You live life by the seat of your pants,” Isabel said.
“Well, I guess that’s true. Lizzy is always planning ahead and she really is just too serious sometimes,” Alex said laughing. “But I do not live life by the seat of my pants, I just don’t plan like Lizzy does.”
“Well then Maxwell and Elizabeth have something in common. You see our man Max over here must be in control of everything and he never does anything unless he’s got a plan,” Michael said.
Both Max and Liz blushed. They weren’t accustomed to being the center of attention. Both of them liked to stay pretty much in the background.
“Thank you for discussing us like we aren’t even here, now can we order lunch and find something else to talk about?” Max asked a little roughly.
“Hey sorry man,” Michael said. “Yeah lets change the subject shall we?”
They ordered lunch and talked about worldly things for a while. No one mentioned anything about Max or Liz again that afternoon. After lunch Liz excused herself saying she was a little tired and she was going to lie down. Max offered to walk her back to her room.
“Thank you but I don’t think that’s necessary,” Liz replied.
“Oh I think you should let him Lizzy. I mean you never know who could be on this ship. Some of these people don’t look too friendly,” Isabel said.
Liz glared at her friend. She knew what she was up to. Ever since that first meeting Liz had with Maxwell he’s all she’s been able to think about, and Liz told Isabel that. So Izzy was going to make it her sole mission on this trip to get them together.
“All right, I can’t argue with everyone and from the look on Alex’s face too he thinks you should walk me to my room as well. Shall we,” Liz said.
Max nodded his head and offered his arm to Liz. He didn’t even realize he was doing it; it was an unconscious movement. Liz accepted his arm and together they walked out of the dining room. They walked in silence down the hallway and neither one realized when they passed Liz’s room and continued straight to Max’s room.
Max looked up and realized they were in front of his door. He blushed and turned to face Liz. “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. We’re ah, in front of my room. Which one is yours?” he asked.
Liz blushed as well. “I wasn’t paying attention either. Um, mine’s the next one over, I can make it myself,” she told him.
“No, no. I said I was going to walk you to your room and that’s what I’m going to do,” he said turning back around.
He stopped in front of Liz’s door and waited for her to open it. “Thank you for walking me to my room Mr. Evans,” she said.
“I thought I told you to call me Max,” he replied.
“Oh yes, you did. Sorry,” she laughed nervously. “Would you like to come in for a bit Maxwell?”
“I’d love to,” he replied.
Liz led them into her room and closed the door behind Max. She took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. Every time she got near Max her body did all sorts of crazy things. It almost felt like it was humming with this energy. She couldn’t explain it.
Max sat on the couch and tried to compose himself. ‘She’s just a woman Max, get a grip,’ he said to himself. ‘You can do this. She’s paying you for protection, not to maul her.’
Liz turned around and saw Max sitting on the couch with his eyes closed. He looked to be lost in though and Liz realized then and there that Maria was correct. He did like her and it was almost as if he was fighting himself on the issue. She quietly made her way over to him and stopped in front of him.
“Max?” she called quietly.
He had to bite back a groan. The way she had said his name sent tingles down his spine. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at her face. She was the most beautiful woman he’d ever laid eyes on and he knew he was going to lose this battle he was having with himself. ‘Maybe if I just kiss her it will be out of my system,’ he thought.
Max patted the seat next to him inviting her to sit down. She didn’t hesitate and practically jumped into the seat. He turned to face her and slowly brought his hand up to her face. He rubbed his thumb across her cheek and Liz sighed with contentment. She had never felt anything so sensual in her life and she didn’t want him to stop. She pressed her face into his hand loving the feelings he was invoking in her.
He continued to stroke her cheek for a bit before sliding his hand into her hair. He couldn’t believe how silky her hair felt. It was just as he imagined it would feel. He slowly brought his face towards her and stopped inches away from her lips. He wanted to make sure she wanted this before he continued.
He didn’t need to wait long. The feeling of his soft breaths against her lips almost drove her insane. She closed the distance between them and pressed her lips to his.

I'm dedicating this to Annie! You asked for a new part and as promised here it is. Sorry it's a bit late...but the board gave me attitude. This is also for Katie, who was kind enough to post this for me so you all could read it. You girlies are the best! Enjoy!
Max couldn't believe this was happening. Liz actually kissed him. He didn't know what to expect but he didn't want to think about anything other then her lips on his. He was in heaven, and he never wanted to come back down to Earth. If he died now he'd be the happiest man on the face of the planet.
Max let go of everything and just felt. He didn't let his thoughts cloud the issue because then he would be tempted to pull away and right now he needed this. He need to feel the love Liz was giving to him because his soul craved it.
He swept his tongue across her bottom lip silently asking for entrance, and she didn't hesitate to open her mouth. She allowed him anything he wanted loving the fact that he didn't pull away when she kissed him. She was afraid that he was going to because his heart ready to love yet, but he didn't. In fact he kissed her back, which was more, then she could have hoped for.
The minute his tongue entered her mouth he knew he would have to do this again. There was no way that one kiss was going to get Elizabeth Whitman out of his system. She stirred things deep within him, things that no other woman had ever come close to awaking and that scared him and yet excited him at the same time.
Liz thread her hands through his hear holding him to her mouth. She never wanted this kiss to end. She had been craving it since their first meeting and now that she knew how it felt to kiss Maxwell Evans, she never wanted to stop. She knew that if she could kiss him for the rest of her life be more then happy.
Max wove his hands in her hair and was fascinated at how silky it felt. He knew it looked like chocolate colored silk, but to realize that it actually felt like that was something he never would have imagined. Elizabeth was full of surprises and he was only learning a couple of those secrets.
Liz moaned into his mouth as his tongue swept across it loving every inch it could reach. She had never been kissed like this and it was almost as if Max was trying to devour her, but she didn't care. She wanted to be devoured.
Something inside of her told her to lean back so she listened and Max followed, never breaking the kiss. Before either of them realized what was happening they were lying on the couch kissing. Liz loved the feel of Max above her, and she knew that they were moving rather quickly but she just didn't care. She wanted this so badly.
Max suddenly became aware of their position and pulled back slightly. He couldn't go very far because Liz's arms were still wrapped around his neck holding him close to her. She opened her eyes as he broke contact with her lips and looked up at him. She wasn't sure what was wrong and she was slightly afraid that she had done something wrong.
Max noticed the hurt look on her face and it broke his heart. He chided himself for feeling upset that she was hurt, but he couldn't help himself. Elizabeth was different and he knew that from the first moment he saw her. There was just something about her that called out to him, and he couldn't explain it. If he told Maria this she would tell him that he had found his other half. That he had found the other half of his soul, and that Liz was the one. He almost wanted to believe that but he was afraid to love. He had seen what it did to his parents and he didn't want that to happen to him.
He was afraid that if he allowed himself to love and by some chance he and his wife had a child things would start to get ugly like it did for his parent. I mean bad love genes had to run in the family, it was probably something genetic so he just swore off love. He didn't wan this child to have to live through what he had to live through. It wasn't fair.
Even though he knew it shouldn't bother him that Liz was upset it did, and he didn't want her to think she did anything wrong. It just broke his heart to see that sad look on her face.
“Elizabeth, it's not you I swear,” Max said kissing her quickly. “I-I’m just not ready for this. I'm sorry,” he said sitting up.
“I understand Maxwell. Would you like to talk about it?” she asked.
“Maybe some other time. Right now, I think I'm just going to retire for a bit. Maybe a nap will do me good, and besides didn't you want to take a nap yourself?” he said.
“Yes, Idid. Will I see you later?” she questioned as he walked to the door.
“Most definitely,” he replied smiling. She returned his smile and his heart soared. He loved to see her smile. She looked so beautiful when she smiled. He chided himself for thinking those thoughts and walked out the door shaking his head.
When Liz was sure the coast was clear she let out a long sigh. “I will make you see that you need love Maxwell Evans,” she said to the air. “I will.”
Liz walked into her bedroom and finished unpacking. Once she was done she laid down in her bed and let sleep overtaken her. She was exhausted, both physically and emotionally. This thing with Max was very draining but well worth it. She was determined to break down his wall.
Liz mumbled incoherent things as an annoying noise roused her from sleep. It took her a few minutes to realize that it was someone knocking at her door. She climbed out of bed and walked to the door.
“Who is it?” she asked sleepily.
“It's Maria. Open up,” the cheery woman said.
Liz flung open the door and Maria breezed right in. Liz smiled at her and waited for Maria to begin talking. She had noticed that Maria looked like she needed to say something the minute she opened the door so Liz just waited patiently for her to start.
“Ok, spill. What happened when my brother brought you back here?” Maria said causing Liz to laugh.
Liz wasn't expecting this and she just thought it was so funny. Maria wanted to gossip, and Liz actually loved that. Another knock at the door had both girls turning towards the door. Liz expected it was Isabel and opened it up. She was right. Isabel walked in and plopped on the couch next to Maria.
“Ok, tell us. What happened?” she asked.
“Well, we walked down the hallway towards our rooms and I guess neither one of us was paying attention, we were probably both lost in thought. I know I was. Anyway when we both realized where we were we were standing in front of Maxwell's room,” Liz said.
“So then what happened? Did he invite you in or did he just do something stupid and like go into his room leaving you in the hallway? I mean I know my brother can be a bonehead sometimes but if he did that I'll hurt him myself,” Maria said passionately.
“No, he actually got embarrassed for not realizing he was walking to his room. It was really cute. I told him it was ok, that I wasn't paying attention either. I then told him my room was the next one over and that it was ok I could get there myself, but he told me that he said he would walk me to my room and that's just what he was going to do,” I explained.
“That's so sweet,” Isabel sighed.
“Yeah I thought so to. So we walked over here and I invited him in. I don't know what possessed me to ask but I did. He agreed and came in sitting on the couch. We talked for a little bit and then he started to kiss me. Well, he didn't exactly kiss me he stopped inches from my lips so I kissed him. We kissed for a bit but I think it got to be too much for him because he freaked out and then left saying he needed to go and lie down,” Liz said.
“You kissed! That's awesome. I told you he liked you,” Maria exclaimed.
“Yes, I know you did, but I wasn't so sure until he almost kissed me. I really don't know what came over me. I'm never that bold but I just had to kiss him,” Liz said to her friends.
“Well, I think it was wonderful Liz. Now if only you could pass your secrets on to your brother, maybe this trip wouldn't be too bad,” Isabel said giggling.
Liz rolled her eyes at Isabel. “Well, maybe if you just told him you liked him something would happen,” Liz said.
Maria laughed at the two of them. “Well, I'm going to head back to my husband. I just wanted to see what happened. We're meeting for dinner around six. Michael and I will come and pick you up, so for now just relax or take a look around the ship, whatever. Just enjoy yourselves,” she said.
Isabel decided to go to her room and nap for a bit and Liz walked them both to the door. She watched as they went their sperate ways and headed back to her room. She freshened up and headed out to look around the ship. She wasn't really in the mood to look around the now that she was up she knew that sleep was not going to return and staying in that room was not an option. Yes, it was spacious and very nice, but it wasn't where she wanted to be at that moment.
In fact she knew exactly where she wanted to be at that moment. She wanted to be in Max's arms. She wanted to feel his strength all around her and she wanted to feel his kisses on her lips again.
Liz shook her head trying to get rid of those thoughts. She knew that she couldn't push Max, but the way she was feeling she wasn't sure if she'd be able to take things slowly.
“You know, you shouldn't be walking around the ship without and escort,” a deep voice said from behind her.
Liz jumped and gasped whirling around to face the person behind her. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that it was Max. “Jeepers, you scared me half to death. That wasn't very nice. I just couldn't sit in my room anymore; I had to get out so I decided to tour the ship. It's not too bad,” she said to him.
“Yeah, I know. I heard Maria pounding on your door and she woke me up. I couldn't fall back asleep so I decided to take a walk. Would you like to join me?” he asked.
Liz nodded her head yes and he offered her his hand. She gladly took it and they began to walk around the ship. They stopped by the railing on the West side of the ship and watched the sun set. It looked very pretty from here, and to Liz it appeared as if the sun was melting into the water.
“Wow. I've never seen the sun set on the water before. It looks as if it's melting in the water,” Liz exclaimed.
Max smiled at Liz. She never ceased to amaze him. He enjoyed spending time with her and he hated to admit it to himself but he could see himself falling for her if he wasn't careful. She already managed to wiggle her way into his heart and if he wasn't careful he had a feeling she could claim it.
They continued their tour pretty much in silence and ended up back at the rooms. “Thank you Maxwell, I enjoyed myself,” Liz told him.
“The pleasure was all mine. You are great company Elizabeth,” he told her leaning closer.
Liz held her breath waiting for the kiss. She prayed that he would kiss her and not pull back at the last second. She wasn't disappointed as his lips came in contact with hers. He had meant to kept the kiss gentle and quick but the moment his lips touched hers his heart had another thing planned.
They wrapped their arms around one another holding each other close deepening the kiss. Liz's head swam with sensations. She felt like she was on fire one minute, and full of electricity the next. She didn't mind any of it though and she enjoyed every second of the kiss.
She didn't realize that Max was moving them backwards into the room. He had managed to get Liz's door open and walked them into the room. He pushed the door closed with his foot and backed Liz against it. She moaned as Max moved his kisses down her throat stopping at her pulse point. She held his head there before running her hands down his body. She wasn't surprised at the power she felt under her hands. She could tell Max was muscular and to feel that strength was beyond words.
He began to kiss his way back to her mouth. “Max," she moaned as his lips fastened on hers again. His thumbs were drawing lazy circles on her waist. His head was swimming. It was swimming in the scent of Liz, and the taste of Liz, and his heart swelled when she moaned his name. He knew he should stop but he couldn't force himself to pull away.
A knock at the door startled them both causing them to pull away from one another. “Come on Liz open up. We've got to get to dinner, and we've got to find Max. He's not in his room,” Maria called from the other side of the door.
Liz looked at Max with panic filled eyes. Max tried to smile at her reassuringly and walked towards the door. Liz put her hand on his arm and shook her head.
“You can't open the door. What will she think?" Liz asked.
“Well, when she takes one look at us she won't have to think anything. We both look completely ravished,” Max whispered to her.
Liz blushed and let go of his hand. She knew he was right and Maria already knew about this afternoon, so it wouldn't be that bad. Max turned the knob to open the door and Liz tried to prepare herself for what was to come.

Max opened the door and took a defensive stance. He knew his sister better than anyone and he knew that both he and Liz were in for an ear full. He chanced a quick glance at Liz and he felt sorry for putting her through this. She was pale and there was a terrified look on her face, but what truly amazed him was that underneath the fear he could see strength. He knew that she wasn’t going to back down no matter what his sister had to say.
“MAX! What the hell are you doing in here? Do you realize how scared I have been! Michael and I have been looking all over the place for you!” Maria yelled.
“Maria, please you’ve got to calm down,” Max said gently.
“Don’t you tell me to calm down Maxwell Evans! I didn’t know what happened to you! I’ve been thinking up all sorts of crazy things,” Maria said beginning to calm down.
“I’m sorry. I don’t know what else to say. I couldn’t sleep, because I heard you pounding on Liz’s door by the way, and I went for a walk,” Max started.
“Yeah but Michael and I walked all over the place looking for you!” she exclaimed getting worked up all over again.
“Well he met me while he was walking around and we finished our little tour of the boat together,” Liz said speaking for the first time since Maria started her rant.
“Oh hey Liz. LIZ!” Maria exclaimed just realizing where she was. She looked from Max to Liz taking in their appearance and placed her hand over her mouth in shock.
“Oh my God! You guys! I’m so sorry. Oh wow, we interrupted didn’t we?” Maria said.
“Yes you did,” Max said without the slightest bit of embarrassment.
“Well why the hell didn’t you say something in the first place?” she asked.
“Uh, Maria,” Liz said causing her friend to turn around. “No one could get a word in edgewise,” Liz finished causing Max to laugh.
Maria blushed and glared at her brother. Michael chose that moment to walk in. He had gotten Alex and Isabel telling them to head to the dining room and get a table. They agreed casting worried glances towards Maria’s angry voice.
Michael took in the scene before him. His wife was glaring at Max and both he and Liz looked completely ravished.
“Well, it looks like someone else had fun this afternoon,” Michael teased.
Liz blushed and Max glared at his friend while Maria tried to suppress her laughter. Michael had a look on his face that said he didn’t think he did anything wrong.
“You are such an ass,” Max said.
“What? I’m serious. The two of you look like you’ve shared a nice afternoon together. Besides we are all adults here and we can all handle the two of you kissing passionately,” Michael said looking between the two.
Liz was certain she had never been more humiliated and she chanced a glance at Max, not really being able to keep her eyes off him, and she noticed that he was taking this in stride but he was really angry.
“Yes we are all adults and I can trust that there will be no adolescent remarks about this little endeavor,” Liz said looking directly at Michael.
He wore a guilty face and Liz knew that as soon as the reached the dining room he was planning on saying something. “Fine, I agree,” he said reluctantly.
Liz breathed a sigh of relief. It’s not that she didn’t want anyone to know she and Max were kissing, but she didn’t want Michael to say anything. She just had a feeling he’d say something that would end up upsetting Alex, and then Alex would begin acting like a big brother and forbid her to even look at Max. Well, that was completely not an option. There was no way she was going to stay away from Maxwell Evans on this trip. There was just something about him that kept pulling her to him and she was not going to deny herself that. This is what she’d been waiting her whole life for and no one was going to keep that from her, even her brother.
“Well Alex and Isabel went ahead to the dining room to save a table. They are probably wondering where in the heck we are so I suggest we hightail it over there,” Michael said.
“Ok, I’ll meet you guys over there. I just want to freshen up and fix my appearance,” Liz said.
“Yeah me too. I’m going to, ah, go to my room and tame my hair and grab a new shirt,” Max said walking out the door. “Liz and I will be there in a few minutes,” he added from his door.
Michael gave Maria a knowing look and they headed out of Liz’s room. “We’ll see you in a few minutes,” Maria called from the hallway as Michael closed the door.
Liz breathed another sigh of relief and walked to her bedroom to try and fix her appearance. She wasn’t sure how she was going to manage that after she caught sight of herself in the mirror. Her hair was all over the place while her clothing was all wrinkled and in disarray. That could all be fixed but what worried her the most was her lips. They were red and swollen from being kissed so thoroughly. Thinking about Max’s lips on hers brings a smile to her face. She realizes then and there that she has fallen, and fallen hard for one Maxwell Evans.
(Same time as Maria’s Outburst)
Michael knocks on Isabel’s door and waits for her to open it. Seconds later Isabel walks out of her room completely ready. He smiles at her and jerks his head towards Alex’s door. Isabel nods and follows him but not before turning towards Maria’s voice. She wonders what is going on in Liz’s room. ‘It sounds like Maria is yelling at Max,’ she thought.
Alex answers his door quickly and hears Maria yelling also. He raised an eyebrow in question and Michael shrugs his shoulders.
“We couldn’t find Max, but it appears Maria found him with Liz. She is just mad because she couldn’t find him and that scared her,” he explained.
Isabel and Alex nodded in confirmation of Michael’s explanation. “Why don’t you two head on down to the dining room and get us a table. I’ll go calm Maria down and we’ll join you in a few minutes,” he said.
“All right. We’ll see you in a few. Is there anything you want us to order for a drink?” Alex asked.
“No, just get some waters. We’ll take care of everything else when we get down there,” Michael replied walking back towards Liz’s room.
Isabel and Alex walked in silence towards the dining room. Neither knew what to say to the other which was quite odd since they’d known one another for years. Alex was afraid of sounding like a complete fool while Isabel didn’t want to sound like a ninny, which surprised her because she never used to care what Alex thought about her.
They got a table and ordered the waters like Michael asked and sat in silence waiting for the others. After a couple of minutes the silence was more then Isabel could bear and she turned towards Alex so she could talk to him.
She noticed him looking at her and she wondered if she had something her. The look on his face was one she’d never seen before. There was something she couldn’t describe in his eyes and it excited her. ‘Where are these feelings coming from,’ she wondered a little afraid of her reaction to Alex’s gazes.
Alex couldn’t help himself; he just couldn’t stop looking at Isabel. He knew that if Liz was sitting there she’d make fun of him but at the moment he didn’t care. Isabel Parker was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen and even though she knew that she was beautiful she didn’t really flaunt it. Yes, she did have her Ice Princess persona, but that was just a defense mechanism to keep her protected. If she trusted you she let it go and you got to see the real Isabel. She was sweet, charming, funny, and very smart. She was just as smart as Liz but she didn’t care for all the excitement of digs and things of that nature. She was perfectly content working at the Museum. He still wasn’t sure how she could stand working there, the curator Mr. Pierce was just the nastiest little man on the planet, but Isabel didn’t seem to have a problem with him.
“So what do you think Max and Liz were doing? I mean Max was in her room,” Isabel asked.
“I’m not sure, but he better not have been doing what I am imaging him doing or I’ll have to kick his royal arse,” Alex said.
“Oh please Alex, they are both adults. They can do as they please,” Isabel retorted.
“That may be true my dear Isabel, but Lizzy is still my sister and it is my job to protect her. I mean since you are on this dig you are my responsibility too, and it is my job to protect you as well, but it will always be my job to protect my sister,” he said.
“I know Alex, but we both know Liz wouldn’t do anything crazy with a stranger. I mean she’s only known Max for a short time and she wouldn’t go too far. Maybe a few kisses but that’s it,” Isabel replied.
“True, but I still don’t have to like it,” he said. “I know she is a good judge of character, I mean look at who she’s friends with, but until I can be certain his intent isn’t to hurt her I don’t trust him.”
“That’s completely understandable,” she said smiling at him.
Her smile made his heart melt. Her whole face lit up when she smiled and it made her even more beautiful then she already was. To Alex she was an angel sent to Earth just for him and he was more then grateful that she was there. Now if only he could tell her things like that. He’s been admiring her from afar for a good three years now, ever since she and Liz became friends, and he still is having problems getting his feelings out in the open. ‘What the hell is wrong with me?’ he asked himself. ‘Why can’t I just tell her that I’m in love with her?’
Alex didn’t have any answers to these questions but that didn’t stop him from asking them. He just didn’t know what it was about her that terrified him and prevented him from telling her his feelings for her, but there was something.
Alex was about to open his mouth and try to explain his feelings when Michael and Maria walked into the room. They spotted Alex and Isabel and walked towards the table. Alex vowed that after dinner he’d ask Isabel to take a stroll with him to look at the stars and he’d try to confess his feelings then.

AN: I’ve got a question for you all! LOL…would you like to see this fic have NC-17 parts? I wasn’t planning to have them originally but if enough of you want to see it have some NC-17 parts please let me know, and I’ll write some up! LOL
I’m going to say that this part could be considered R for nudity and content.
Alex looked up from Isabel’s face and silently cursed Michael and Maria for coming now. He was so close to finally trying to explain his feelings and they had to come and ruin it. Damn them to hell, he kept thinking not really meaning it.
As Michael pulled out a chair for Maria and then took his seat Alex noticed that his sister wasn’t with them. He started to panic but silently told himself to calm down.
“Where’s Liz?” he asked them.
“She needed to make herself presentable,” Maria said smiling.
“What do you mean she needed to look presentable? What the hell was she doing that she isn’t presentable now?” Alex asked frantically.
He was thinking up all sorts of horrible things and the fact that he knew Max was in her room didn’t bode well for his sister, or Max for that matter. Alex was afraid to even try and imagine what they could have been doing together because every time he did he would see them doing things they shouldn’t be doing and his big brother persona wanted to come out full force. Alex knew he wasn’t a big guy, and hell Max could probably take him, but he swore that if Maxwell Evans did anything to his little sister he would kill the man.
Isabel could see the vain in Alex neck pulsating and she knew he was beginning to lose it. She knew this look all to well. Anytime Liz was interested in a male Alex would get like this. He freaked out when guys just looked at Liz so the fact that she and Max were doing something that he deemed not allowed was eating at him and she knew that if he didn’t calm down he’d explode and cause a huge scene.
“Alex? Alex, look at me,” Isabel coaxed in a sweet voice.
Her soft sweet voice slowly penetrated Alex’s fuzzy mind and he looked into Isabel’s eyes. She smiled at him and he reacted instantly. He forgot where they were and who they were with he just reacted. He leaned towards her and captured her lips with his own. The kiss was sweet and gentle and Isabel thought she was drowning. She was positive that she fell overboard and was drowning in the river.
Alex couldn’t believe what he was doing. Deep in the back of his mind he knew that he was kissing Isabel Parker but it wasn’t exactly registering just yet. Michael and Maria watched in fascination. They had no clue that Alex and Isabel liked one another. Alex slowly parted his lips from Isabel and she missed his soft caresses already, but the moment their surroundings came back to her she blushed with embarrassment.
Alex finally came back into his head and realized what he had just done as he realized that his hand was still in Isabel’s hair and their lips were inches apart. He blushed also and slowly took his hand away from Isabel, but not before caressing her cheek with his thumb first.
(Same time as everything is going on in the Dining Room)
The minute Max walked into his room he made his way over to the door separating his room from Liz’s and knocked on the door. He couldn’t get enough of her and he just needed one more kiss before he got ready.
She threw the door open the minute he connected his knuckles with the wood. Her need for him was as strong as his need for her. She couldn’t explain it, nor understand it but that didn’t matter. All she knew was that she wanted Max to kiss her again. He had no problem granting her wish and the moment she came into his view he fastened his lips to hers.
They kissed one another like they were lovers who had not seen one another for many years but thirsted for one another like they had never thirsted for anything before. The only way to quench that thirst was to continue drinking from the other person’s lips.
Liz moaned into Max’s mouth and ran her hands over his back and chest boldly. She didn’t even realize what she was doing but Max was going insane with desire. This small woman completely astounded him and he knew that he had lost this battle. There was no way he was not going to fall in love with Miss Elizabeth Whitman.
Max broke away from her with raged breaths. He needed to regain his composure, which was very hard to do while Liz was placing small kisses on his cheeks and neck while whimpering with the need for his lips once again.
“We need to…need to finish getting ready,” Max gasped out trying to catch his breath.
“I know but…but all…I want…to do…is continue…kissing you,” she said between the kisses she was placing on his face.
“I know, as do I but they will come looking for us again and this time I’m sure your brother will be with them,” Max said causing Liz to stop her kisses.
“Oh God! You’re right! This is so not good. Ok, you go get fixed up, I’ve got to completely change,” she said frantically running around her room forgetting to close the connecting door.
She searched through her clothing and found a simple dress to change into. She stripped out of her old clothes and began to don the dress. Max had passed by the door when Liz took off her shirt and he was fascinated by the sight before him. Her breasts were bared to him and he could see the rosy pink color of her nipples and his mouth watered. He so wanted to taste her flesh while listening to her moan with desire. She pulled off her pants and Max could see her round bottom come into view. He knew that he should look away but her body was so alluring that it kept calling to him, almost to the point where he wanted to say consequences be damned. He was willing to throw caution to the wind just so he could make love to Elizabeth. Her near naked body was making him feel things he had never felt before.
Granted he was no virgin, he had bedded women before, not too many but enough to know the stirrings of attraction and lust, but what he was feeling for Elizabeth was more then that. He couldn’t explain it, but it was stronger then any other feelings he’s ever had for a woman before. He knew that it went well beyond attraction and lust, this was bordering on love.
As Liz slipped the dress over her head Max moved away from the door. He still needed to get changed and nice his pants didn’t match his shirt he decided to change them. He unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it onto a nearby chair. As he tossed his shirt Liz walked to the door realizing that she left it open so she could close it, when she caught Max without his shirt on. She was amazed at the sight. He was beautiful, and she was sure that she’d never seen anyone who looked as good as him before. Not that she’d seen many bare chests before, really on Alex and Kyle’s but still, Kyle was pretty built and he didn’t even come close to comparing to Max.
Max’s pectorals were cut and very nicely defined while his stomach looked like a washboard, at least to Liz. His arms were his nicest features in Liz’s eyes. They were just the perfect size, not too big but not scrawny either, and they felt so good around her that she wished she were back in them now.
As Max reached for the button on his pants Liz hurriedly shut the door and waited for Max to let her know he was finished. He smiled as he heard the door shut. He knew she was there watching him he saw her shadow on the floor of his room and he wanted to see what she’d do when he reached for his pants. He smiled at her reaction and finished getting dressed. His stomach began to rumble and he realized for the first time just how hungry he truly was.
Max knocked on Liz’s door and she opened it slowly. Max smiled at her and offered his arm. She gladly took it and together they walked to the dining room. They walked in the doors to witness Alex kiss Isabel. Liz gasped in surprise at her brother’s boldness and smiled at Isabel’s dreamy look when Alex pulled away from her. Liz felt better now about kissing Max earlier. Of course Alex didn’t kiss Isabel the way Max had kissed her but still, he did kiss Isabel so things were pretty much even. She unconsciously touched her lips and Max smiled. He placed a light kiss on her forehead and they walked to the table together.

AN: Well Annie…you gave me yours so here’s mine! LOL. I hope you like this! OH! Note about the Nookie issue! LOL. Here’s the deal…M/M are married already so there will be some sweet nookie between them, but no M/L nookie for a bit yet. (Jenn ducks as flying objects soar overhead). Don’t be mad, there will be M/L nookie, but considering this is 1923 they can’t have sex if not married! It just wasn’t done by upstanding women. Don’t worry, I am not an evil person I will give you the nookie…but until then you’ll have to enjoy some heavy petting between M/L an A/I. Jenn
Max and Liz walked cautiously to the table because even though they just witnessed that kiss between Alex and Isabel they knew that Alex was still upset with them. Liz hated when Alex was upset, especially with her but she was going to make him realize that he did not dictate who she could and could not see. She was a grown woman and it was time her “Big” brother understood that.
Max held out Liz’s chair and pushed it in slightly after she sat down before taking the seat next to her. Alex shot them an annoyed glance before focusing on Maxwell. Alex’s eyes bored into Max’s but Max was not going to budge. He really liked Elizabeth Whitman and her brother was not going to intimidate him into not seeing her. Besides it would be fruitile because he was their guide.
“Alexander Whitman! Stop that this instant!” Liz scolded.
“Elizabeth, I’m very angry at you right now and I would suggest you not speak to me for a bit. At least until I can control my temper,” Alex said. “And I will glare at him if I want to. What the HELL were you two doing?”
“Nothing Alex, God. This whole big brother protector thing has to stop! How will I ever manage to find someone with you always berating them or scaring the lives out of them! Now I may or may not be looking for someone right now but you WILL NOT tell me who I may associate with!” she yelled. “Excuse me I’m no longer hungry,” Liz added getting up from the table.
“Good job Alex,” Isabel scolded. “I’ll be back in a few minutes. I am just going to make sure she’s ok.”
Alex looked down at the table in shame. He knew that he always did this and every time he swore that he’d never do it again but he couldn’t help it. Liz was HIS little sister and these protective feelings just wouldn’t go away. Deep down he knew Maxwell wouldn’t hurt Liz, at least not intentionally but he just couldn’t get over the fear that he might. Those fears drove Alex to do crazy things making his sister mad at him and he knew that she wouldn’t speak to him for a few days.
“I’m sorry guys. I know I shouldn’t do that but I can’t help it. Liz is all I’ve got left and I have to keep her safe,” he explained hoping they’d understand.
“I understand, I always felt the same way about Maria. She’s just lucky I was friends with Michael or else they would have had a hard time too,” Max said knowing full well what it was like to be an older brother.
“I think maybe I should go and find Elizabeth and make sure she’s ok,” Alex said getting up from the table.
“Sit your Arse back down Alexander. Liz does not want to speak to you, she made that very clear to me. Maria she also asked me to invite you to a girl’s night,” Isabel said.
“What’s a girl’s night?” Maria asked
“Oh, it’s just something Lizzie and I have when we are in bad moods. The two of us get together and pig out on foods that aren’t really good for us, cookies, cakes, that kind of stuff, and bad mouth guys,” Isabel said.
“Well, count me in. Cookies and cakes! I’m definitely there,” Maria exclaimed excitedly.
“Maria, honey, I thought we had plans tonight,” Michael said sounding hurt.
“Don’t worry baby, our plans are for later,” she said seductively.
“Gross! Maria! I so do not need to be hearing this! You are my sister for crying out loud,” Max exclaimed disgusted.
Maria cracked up at Max’s disgust and kissed Michael’s cheek. “What do you say we grab some stuff to eat and bring it to Liz’s room. That way we can start this girls night!” Maria exclaimed.
“Sounds good to me. Alex, giver her a little bit. I’ve seen you guys do this before. She’ll get over it, she just hates when you do this, it’s like your trying to control her and we both know that she doesn’t like that,” Isabel said.
“I know, but I can’t help it. I’m trying to be better with it,” he said dejectedly.
“I know you are, and so does Liz, she’s just really angry right now. Stop by the room later on tonight and hopefully she’ll talk to you then,” Isabel said rubbing Alex’s shoulder.
Maria came back with some cakes along with dinner and together she and Isabel walked to Liz’s room. Isabel knocked on the door and waited for Liz to open it.
“Who’s there,” Liz called with a teary voice.
“It’s Isabel and Maria,” Izzy called though the door.
“Yeah chica it’s just us. We bring goodies!” Maria exclaimed.
Liz opened the door and gave her friends a shaky smile. “I’m sorry for running out like that but I was so angry,” Liz explained.
“Please don’t worry about it. I thought Alex was way out of line. I mean this is Max we are talking about here. Now I know he has said he’d never fall in love but I can tell he’s already falling, and do you know why I can tell this?” Maria said.
“No why?” Isabel asked.
“I can tell by the way he looks at Liz. I mean you can see the love pouring out of his eyes. Just give him a little more time and he’ll be yours,” Maria said smiling. “Which makes me happy because you’ll make a great sister-in-law!”
Liz smiled at her new friend and the three of them they sat down on the floor ready to start girl’s night. Liz was very excited that Maria joined them because she knew that this quirky woman would bring something new and fresh to girl’s night. The three of them dug into the actual food right away saving the cakes and cookies for later. After they finished dinner the girls spread themselves around the room and began to talk.
“So what’s married life like?” Isabel asked blushing at her bold question.
“Married life huh? It’s better then I ever expected it to be,” Maria said laughing. “The bedroom perks are the best though.”
Isabel and Liz both blushed at that comment and Maria just laughed. She loved how her friends got embarrassed form mentioning sex. “Please girls like you’ve never had a fantasy before. Believe me the real thing is so much better then your imagination,” she told them.
“Really? Wow,” Liz whispered. “I can’t even begin to imagine,” she added with a dreamy far away look in her eye. “Liz honey come back to Earth. Think about my brother like that after I’ve left the room please,” Maria said making Liz blush.
“Sorry,” she said laughing nervously.
“So Lizzie! Is Max a good kisser?” Isabel asked excitedly.
“Hey this I can handle. I’ve always wondered about that. I mean so many girls drool over him all the time and it’s just something you’ve got to wonder about,” Maria rambled.
“Maria, your rambling,” Isabel pointed out.
“Oh sorry,” she laughed. “Yeah, I do that sometimes.”
“Is Max a good kisser? Oh man YEAH,” Liz squealed.
Max walked to the door connecting his room to Liz’s intent on checking up on her. He heard her excited voice through the door and he realized that she was doing better. He knew that his sister and Isabel would be able to cheer her up and that made him feel better because he hated to see Liz hurting.
“Come on Girl! Details! How good of a kisser is Max?” he heard his sister ask.
He jumped back surprised. They were talking about HIM? He was embarrassed and flattered at the same time. As well as a little disturbed because his sister was really interested in knowing how good he kissed. Well it made him smile that Liz though he was a good kisser.
“I don’t know if I should be talking about this. I mean its like talking about someone behind their back. I’m not comfortable with that,” Liz said.
“Liz sweetie, we are your best friends. You have to tell us please?” Isabel begged.
‘Yeah Liz. Tell them please. I’m dying to know your opinion,’ Max thought.
“All right! All right, I’ll tell you,” she said laughing. Max breathed a sigh of relief and listened at the door. “He made me feel things that I’ve never felt before. I mean it’s really hard to explain, but I felt alive for the first time. My head got all cloudy and I was dizzy, and I felt drunk,” Liz explained. “It was the best feeling and experience in the world!”

AN: This part is for Ria and my BF Shannon! Ria, you asked me to update so you had something to read…and here it is! LOL Jenn
Max stood motionless at the door not sure if he heard Liz correctly. Had she just said he made her feel things that she’d never felt before? Could she have been affected as much as he was? He wasn’t sure if it was quite possible or not but it seemed that way to him. This made him break out into a huge smile he affects Elizabeth Whitman as much as she affects him!
He quietly took a step back from the door not wanting the girls to hear him or else they would know he was listening. That would be bad and he didn’t want Elizabeth to be embarrassed. He almost made it from the door scotched clean but he tripped over the leg of the table and fell to the floor with a thud and a grunt.
“What was that?” Isabel asked.
“I don’t know but sounded like it came from Max’s room. I think he fell,” Maria said.
“Fell? What could he have tripped over?” Liz asked.
“I don’t know,” Maria replied knocking on the door.
Max jumped up to his feet with a grimace. He had to think fast. He quickly moved the table towards the middle of the room and then walked to the door.
He pretended to be shocked as he swung the door open. “Hey girls. How’s your little party going?” he asked limping away from them.
“Oh Max! What happened? We heard you fall,” Liz said rushing to his side.
“I’m fine. I forgot I moved that stupid table earlier and I tripped over the damned thing. I’ll be all right, I just bruised my rear and my knee a bit,” he told them playing it off.
Maria looked at her brother suspiciously but chose to bring up the subject later when Liz and Isabel weren’t around. Liz turned back to her room when she heard knocking.
“Who could that be?” Liz questioned walking back to her room.
“That would be Alex,” Isabel whispered. “Um Max, do you mind if I just sneak out your door? I told Alex to stop by and I’m not in the mood for Liz to yell at me.”
“No problem. I’d make it quick though because I can hear agitated voices over there,” Max told Isabel.
“Yeah, I’m going. Thanks,” she said running to the door.
Max shook his head as Isabel ran though his door and quietly closed the adjoining door that connected his and Liz’s room. He wanted to give her some privacy with Alex. He turns back towards his bed hoping to lie down for a bit since his knee is throbbing but Maria is looking at him with that stare. The stare that just tells you you’re in trouble.
“What?” he asked gulping.
“Where you listening to our conversation? I don’t believe all that crap about you moving the table,” Maria said.
“I-I, well I, uh, I-I didn’t mean to,” Max stammered looking away from his sister.
“Oh Max! How could you?” she asked.
“I just told you I didn’t mean to. I was going to check up on Liz and well you were all talking about me and I got curious. Why am I explaining this to you!” he said frustrated.
“You’re explaining it to me, dear brother, because if you don’t I’ll tell Liz you listened to the whole thing,” Maria said.
“That’s blackmail!” he exclaimed.
“You bet your ass it is,” she said.
“All right, all right, I’ll explain. I wanted to make sure Liz was ok. I stopped at the door all prepared to knock when I heard her start to speak. I paused because she seemed to be in better spirits and I didn’t want to intrude. I wasn’t sure if you were all still in there. Anyway, I heard your question, which disturbed me by the way. Why do you care if I’m a good kisser? That’s beside the point, I got curious as to what Liz was going to say so I listened. I heard her answer and felt guilty for listening and I started to back away but I tripped over the damned table busting my butt on the floor,” he explained.
“Ok, so we heard you hitting the floor. Good cover up by the way. I won’t tell anyone you were listening. I’m going to go back to my room now and see my husband, I’ll see you in the morning,” she said with a wink.
“God Maria! Innuendos not allowed! I don’t need to know about that stuff!” he yelled.
She just laughed as she left the room. Max shook his head and climbed into bed. He propped his knee up hoping the elevation would keep it from swelling overly much. Just as he got comfortable there was a small knock at the door.
“Max? It’s me Liz. Can I come in for a second?” she called though the door.
“Yes you can. It’s open,” he told her.
She walked in and smiled. He returned it, “I decided to keep it unlocked just in case you needed me.”
“Is Isabel still here?” she asked looking around.
“No, she left a while ago, she didn’t want you to yell at her for telling Alex to show up before you were ready to see him,” Max said grimacing as she sat on the bed.
“I’m so sorry! What’d I do?” she asked full of concern.
“My knee. You jostled the bed causing my knee to move too much,” he said softly.
“I’m sorry. I forgot. Ok, well, I’ll yell at her tomorrow then. I’m going to get some sleep. I’ll see you in the morning,” she said. “Do you want to meet for breakfast?”
“Yes. Breakfast would be great. Sleep sweet Liz,” he replied.
“Sleep sweet Max,” Liz said.
She leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the lips before walking into her room. She closed the door behind her and changed into her bedclothes. After brushing her hair and teeth she climbed into bed with thoughts of Max dancing in her mind.

AN: This is going out to all my girls! You know who you are! I hope you like this part!
Maria walked into the dining room looking completely sated. Liz was sure that there was a certain glow about her but she wasn’t a hundred percent sure.
As Maria sat down at the table she smiled at both Liz and her brother. They were the only two sitting at the table at the moment.
“Good morning!” Maria said brightly.
“Good morning in deed,” Max replied chuckling. “I’m assuming by the state that you’re in you and Michael had a pleasant evening.”
“Not that it’s really any of your business what my husband and I did but yes we did,” she said smiling.
Liz wasn’t too sure about the topic of their conversation but if Maria’s dreamy expression had anything to say about what happened the night before Liz was sure she really didn’t want to know.
~*~*~*~A few tables down~*~*~*~
“Look at them. They make me sick,” James exclaimed over his coffee cup.
“God, can that Elizabeth Whitman be any more mousy? What does a man as handsome as Maxwell Evans see in her? Do you see him pining away for her?” Tess asked.
“I’d watch what I was saying my dear. I’m liable to get angry and you know what happens when I get angry,” James replied with a tight voice.
Tess paled and closed her mouth. She knew exactly what happened when James got angry. He hit when he got angry and more then once Tess had been on the receiving end of a slap and once or twice a punch.
“Ah look, the rest of the party is finally showing up. I can’t wait to finally kill that bastard Alexander,” James said.
“What are you going to do with Elizabeth?” Jack asked trying not to sound too hopeful. “Are you going to kill her too?”
“I haven’t decided just yet. I was thinking of keeping her as a servant or as my mistress locked away in my house. You know keeping her out of sight from other men and occasionally riding her like a mare,” replied James an evil grin spreading across his face.
“If you get to keep Elizabeth as a servant, then I want to keep Maxwell Evans as my personal servant as well. And if you get to ride her I should get to use Maxwell the same way!” Tess exclaimed.
“I do not think so. Keeping him as a servant is one thing, but no one, and I repeat no one, touches you but me,” James said in a deathly calm voice.
Tess huffed but didn’t mention anything else about Maxwell. She knew when to keep her mouth shut. “So dear, what are you going to be doing today?” she asked.
“I was thinking of hanging around the decks. I’m going to try to keep and eye on Alexander and figure out what the groups next move is,” James said.
“All right. Well, I’m going to go back to the room. If you need me come and get me,” Tess replied her voice laced with sugar.
James grunted wanting her to leave his sight. He loved Tess with all his heart but sometimes she was just too clingy. Jack watched his friend and employer with eyes filled with wonder. He never understood why James stayed with Tess. The woman was the devil herself. There was something not right about her but he couldn’t figure it out.
“I’ll come and find you later to discuss what plan we will need once this boat docks. We’ve got one more day on this stupid contraption before we finally hit dry land and I want everything to go perfectly,” James told Jack.
“No problem sir. I’ll most likely be in my room or here at the bar,” Jack replied getting up and walking towards the door.
“Oh Jack,” James called. “Stop by my room and tell Tess she’s not to leave the room.”
“No problem,” Jack replied leaving the dining room.
Jack slowly made his way to Tess and James’s room. He hated having to tell Tess anything alone because she gave him the heebie-jeebies. Yet, he continued to walk down the hallway doing as his friend and employer asked, mainly because he didn’t want to get his rear end kicked in, but it was a part of the job description. He was James’s lackey and he did anything James told him to do.
Jack walked down the hallway and stopped in front of his boss’s door. He hated having to do errands like this for James; he just couldn’t understand why James didn’t just do these things himself.
He knocked on the door and waited for Tess to open it. He didn’t have to wait long she threw open the door with a sour expression n her face moments later. Jack grimaced and braced himself for the big outburst.
“What are you doing here?” she snapped.
“James sent me here to tell you not to leave the room. He will be back in a bit so stay put,” Jack said walking away.
Tess was fuming. James had some nerve telling her that she wasn’t allowed to leave the room. She was tempted to go out just to anger him but she didn’t want to risk his wrath.
~*~*~*~Outside Liz’s Room~*~*~*~
“Isabel you have no idea how angry I am at this particular moment. Get in here because I don’t want to make a scene in the hallway,” Liz said with anger.
Isabel took a deep breath before walking into Liz’s room. She knew that she deserved anything Liz gave to her but she was afraid nonetheless.
Liz sat down on the chair pointing to the couch across from her. Isabel sat down and waited for Liz to begin. She tried to wait patiently but patience wasn’t one of Isabel’s strong points.
Liz didn’t know where to even begin. She was so angry but she knew why Isabel felt she had to do this. She just wanted to set things right between her and Alex, but things always work themselves out, she didn’t need to be forced to make up with her brother. It just rubbed her the wrong way, and Isabel knew that which was why Liz was shocked that Isabel would do something like this.
“Elizabeth, you know that I never meant to anger you, I just had to make things right. I hate to see you unhappy, and I hate to see Alexander unhappy. I love you both so much and when you fight it breaks my heart. I know you weren’t ready to speak to him but we’ll be landing soon and I did not want this to carry over to the actual trip,” Isabel said trying to defend herself.
“Enough!” Liz roared. She did not want to hear the excuses just yet. “I know why you did what you did Isabel. I’ve known you for a very long time now, and I know how much you love Alexander and myself, but you still had no right to interfere with my affairs. Alexander and I would have worked it out and you know that, we always do.”
“I know but I just couldn’t sit back and…” she tried to say.
“Yes you could have!” Liz interrupted. “You could have just let things go, I would have fixed it I swear. I was just so angry, he had no right to say those things and you well know it! He’s a hypocrite and it’s unfair. I’m not allowed to be with a man, I mean please! It’s not like I’d do anything stupid, and Maxwell would never take advantage of me like that. I trust him with my life Isabel, Alex needs to see that.”
“He is just trying to protect you. He’s your older brother Lizzie, he just wants to keep you safe,” Isabel said defending Alex.
“I know that,” Liz sighed dejectedly sinking into the couch. “He always tries to protect me, and believe me I do love him for it but I don’t need protecting in this. I can handle this situation, and to be totally honest I’ve fallen in love with Maxwell, so what Alex was insinuating really hurt me.”
“Oh Lizzie,” Isabel cried rushing over to her friend clutching her close. “If Alex knew that he never would have said those things. You know he didn’t mean them; he was just being a stupid male. Come on, we both know your brother better then that, he never insults anyone.”
“I know but it still hurt a lot.”
“I’m sure it did. Did he apologize for yesterday?”
“Yes, but I was still very angry with him. I told him that even though I did accept his apology I still didn’t want to speak to him because what he said was mean, hurtful, and just wrong.”
A knocking at the adjoining door caused both girls to be quiet. “Elizabeth, can I speak to you for a moment?” Max called through the door.
“Yes, just a moment,” Liz replied. She looked at her friend and smiled. “Can you tell Alex to meet me in the dining room ten minutes before everyone is going to be meeting for lunch. I’m going to apologize for being a stupid baby.”
“No problem. So we’re ok now right?” Isabel asked.
“Yes, we’re all right,” Liz replied hugging Isabel.
The minute Isabel closed the door Liz rushed over to the adjoining one and opened it. She expected to see Maxwell on the other side but all she saw was air. He wasn’t standing there anymore so she took a tentative step into the room. “Maxwell?” she called out hoping against hope that he was still in the room.
“We need to talk,” his deep voice said from the bed. Liz gasped and turned towards his voice.
“Talk about what?” she questioned cautiously. She was confused on where he was going with this. She wasn’t afraid but she was confused and curious.
“Well, about us. I know I’m causing problems between you and Alexander so…” he began.
“If you are about to tell me that you don’t want anything to do with me Maxwell Evans I think I just might cry!” Liz interjected angrily. Hot tears filled her eyes and threatened to spill down her cheeks.
Max saw this and it broke his heart. He didn’t want to make her cry but he hated seeing her fight with her brother. They were the only ones left in the family and he didn’t want them fighting because of him. He knew more then anyone how important family was, and he had lost his very young. Since that time he was afraid to trust his heart with anyone. Maria had managed to worm her way into his affections and now so did Liz but he was willing to give up his happiness to keep her family together.
“Elizabeth please listen to me. You need to listen without interrupting,” he said.
“Fine, I can do that,” she replied sitting on the chair in front of the bed.
Max got up and walked up to her squatting right in front of her. He placed his large, warm hands over her small ones and looked up into her eyes.
“I cannot stand to be the cause of your family’s heartache. I know how important it is to have family, and even though the DeLuca’s have been very good to me they could never replace my actual parents. You and Alexander need one another and I cannot be the cause of the two of you no longer speaking. Now, no, you promised not to say anything,” Max said causing Liz to shut her mouth cutting off her reply.
He smiled at her before continuing. “After my parents, after they d-died, I vowed to never let anyone into my heart again. I didn’t want to be hurt the way I had been it was the worst pain anyone could ever endure. But, Maria, sweet, sweet Maria managed to wiggle her way into my heart and you did the same thing. I tried everything in my power not to fall for you but you made it impossible. I’ve fallen in love with you Elizabeth Whitman, and I am willing to sacrifice the only joy I know I will find in my adult life to keep your family together,” he explained.
“Oh Maxwell!” she cried throwing her arms around his neck the hot tears falling down his collar. He had seen her tears as he spoke and tried to catch them before they tainted her beautiful cheeks but they spilled to quickly for him to catch them all, and now she openly sobbed into his neck.
He stroked her hair trying to sooth her. “Shush Elizabeth, please don’t cry. It will be ok, I swear. I never meant to make you cry. Please, please don’t-don’t cry, it breaks my heart.”
“M-Maxwell, everything between Alex and I will fix itself I know it will, it always does. He’s just a stupid male when it comes to me. He acts like a caveman, and for that I’m sorry but I-if you, you take your love away from me, I’ll never be a happy woman,” she confessed. “Y-you see, I’ve fallen in love with you too,” she added through the sobs.
He placed a feather light kiss on her forehead before kissing away her tears. Liz took deep raged breaths trying to stop herself from crying. It took a few minutes but she managed to get herself under control.
“So, you love me too huh?” he said smiling.
“Yes I do. And to be perfectly honest I think I fell in love with you the very first time I met you,” she told him.
“If I want to be honest with myself I think I fell in love with then too. The first moment I laid eyes on you I just had this feeling, a feeling I’d never felt before. I felt like I woke up. It was as if I’d been asleep for my whole entire life and when you walked to my table it was like something snapped inside of me. I was seeing the world for the first time. I of course was afraid of those feelings because I tried to keep my heart protected for years but you managed to break right through my wall in a matter of seconds,” he confessed.
Liz smiled at him. She was elated. He loved her just as much as she loved him. It made her head spin. Max returned her smile. It was nice to finally realize that love wasn’t a bad thing, and Max was finally realizing that.
The clock chimed signaling that it was eleven thirty, a half-hour until lunch. Liz began to stand up and Max fallowed as his hands were still on her face, his thumbs caressing her cheeks. “Where are you going?” he questioned.
“I’ve got to freshen up before I meet Alex. I talked to Isabel earlier and told her to have Alex meet me ten minutes before everyone else showed up for lunch. I wanted to apologize for the way I behaved yesterday and to let him know that I forgive him,” Liz told him.
“All right. Go and freshen up,” he said in a teasing voice. “Although I think you look absolutely lovely.”
She blushed lightly and swatted his arm. “Please, I look a fright. I’ve got tear stains on my cheeks and my eyes are red and puffy.”
“You are a vision,” he assured her kissing her lips softly. “Now, you ah, you better go before my baser instincts start to take over and I forget how to be a gentleman.”
Liz laughed and walked into her room. She stopped just inside the adjoining door and looked back at Max. She wasn’t surprised to see him still looking at her. Slowly she brought her hand up to her mouth and blew him a kiss. He smiled at her catching the kiss. Liz continued into her room and closed the door before walking to the water basin to wash her face. She wet a towel with the cool water had held it over her face trying to erase the evidence that she had been crying.

Ok enough of my prattle I’m going to give you all what you want…more of this story!|
Ria, Shannon, and Angie….I’m sorry that I didn’t get this out yesterday…Christmas! LOL…so here’s a late Christmas present for all of you! Jenn
Liz left her room 20 minutes later to meet Alex in the dining room. She knew that Alex would forgive her for acting like a spoiled brat but she was a little afraid of how he’d take the news of her admitting to Maxwell that she loved him.
She didn’t want to fight with Alex over Max because she needed Alex but she was determined not to put her life on hold because Alex was being stupid. She wanted to get married and have children of her own one-day and Alexander Whitman was not going to stand in the way of that. She would do the one thing she never thought she would if it actually came down to it. She would leave Alex and her family behind to be with Maxwell because she loved him and deep inside Liz knew that this love was forever.
Liz walked into the dining room and looked around but Alex was nowhere to be seen yet. She prayed that Isabel remembered to drop off the message because if she didn’t Liz was going to get really angry. Of course she was a few minutes early so that could be why her brother wasn’t there yet.
Alex stood in the doorway watching his sister look around the room for him. He felt more sorry then he even told Liz, about how he reacted the day before. He knew that he couldn’t protect his sister forever and he tried to not be a big jerk when it came to her but old habits die-hard. Alex knew that if he had his choice of husband for his sister Maxwell Evans would be it. He’s the type of man that would die before letting anything happen to anyone he loved, and Alex knew that Max loved Liz. He could see it when the man looked at his sister. Seeing Elizabeth sigh Alex knew he needed to make his presence known before she thought he stood her up.
He slowly strode up to where Liz was standing and tapped her on the shoulder causing her to gasp and whirl around.
“God Alex! You scared me to death!” she exclaimed smiling.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. Isabel came and told me that you needed to speak to me but I want to tell you something first,” Alex told her.
“But Alex, this is important what I have to say. Please let me go first?” Liz said.
“No, I have to say this before you, it’s really important so please sit down and let’s talk,” he said gesturing to a chair nearby.
Liz sat down and waited for her brother to start telling her whatever he had to tell her. Even though what she wanted to tell him was really important she knew that he needed to say whatever it was he wanted to say and because of the urgency in his face she allowed him to go first.
“Look, I know I was WAY out of line yesterday and I really am sorry for the way I reacted. I mean I treated you like a child and not the adult that you are, I’m really sorry for that, but I’m more sorry for making you feel like the feelings you and Maxwell are sharing don’t matter. You don’t have to try and deny it, I know I made you feel that way I could see it in your face. I will never be able to express to you or Maxwell how sorry I am but I hope you can forgive me and my big mouth,” Alex said hoping Liz knew how sincere he was.
“I know you didn’t mean it Alex, and I explained to Max why you blew up and he understands. In fact he tried to tell me today that he’d sacrifice his happiness, being with me, in order to keep our family together. So you can see how much he loves me, but I wouldn’t allow that because if he walked away from me I’d never be happy. I love him so much Alex and I know we’ve only known one another for a short period of time but I just know this is forever. Have you ever felt this way?” Liz confessed.
“Yes I have actually, but I wasn’t sure if she felt the same way. I’m beginning to change my mind about that though,” he told her.
“Ah, Isabel. Well I think she’s always loved you but she was too afraid to show that because I believe she thought you wouldn’t find her sufficient enough or something,” Liz told him. “Alex, I told Maxwell that I loved him today, and he told me that he loved me more then anything. Now I forgive you for trying to protect me, I understand why you did and even though it got me angry in a way I’m happy that you are looking out for me, and I hope that you can forgive me for acting like a little brat. I shouldn’t have reacted the way I did, I acted like a child, and not like the adult I am. I also hope that you will accept my love for Max and not try to interfere again.”
“I promise that I will not butt into your affairs again, and yes I am happy for you. I know Maxwell will make you happy, just as I know you will make him happy, but so help my God, if he lays a finger on you before the two of you are married I will rip him a new one so fast he won’t know what hit him,” Alex told her in a deadly voice.
“I will not touch your sister until she’s my wife, but I can’t promise that I won’t kiss her,” Max said from behind Alex. He had walked up to hear Alex’s last statement. Liz had seen him coming and smiled at him.
“That’s good to know. So lets order and eat already!” Alex exclaimed. “I’m sorry about yesterday man, I just can’t handle my little sister growing up sometimes,” he apologized.
“No need to apologize Alex, I know the feeling completely. I have this overwhelming feeling to keep Elizabeth protected too,” Max confessed.
“That is just the thing I need to hear. Thank you. So where’s everyone else?” he asked.
“Right here. Come on lets eat,” Michael said as he, Maria, and Isabel sat down at the table. Isabel smiled at Liz and Liz smiled back, everything was as it should be. For the time being anyway.
~*~*~*~The Next Day~*~*~*~
The boat was docking in a half an hour and Liz was rushing around her room trying to remember to pack everything for the rest of the journey. They hadn’t really discussed too much of what their next move was going to be but that was basically because the boat was docking at night and Maxwell, Michael, and Alex all agreed that they would be getting rooms at an inn for the night before moving on into the desert.
Liz knew that they’d need to buy camels, water, and food, but other then that she wasn’t sure what they’d need. Max told her not to worry he’d get everything in order and she trusted him completely. There was just something about Maxwell Evans that told her she could trust him from the very first moment she saw him, and that is probably why she trusted him with her heart.
She thought back to the day before at lunch. Everything was peaceful, Alex and Max were getting along again and everyone noticed the difference between Maxwell, Liz, Alexander, and Isabel. Liz and Isabel were talking, signaling that Liz was no longer mad at her. Max and Alex were talking telling everyone that things between Max, Liz, and Alex were straightened out, and Max and Liz couldn’t keep their eyes off one another. It was a wonderful afternoon, and diner was held in much the same fashion.
Michael and Maria were happy that things were getting back to normal and they were both ecstatic that Max was finally falling in love and Elizabeth Whitman was the prefect girl for him. She was strong, yet not overbearing, and gentle when she needed to be. She was smart and loyal, all the things Max was. They would compliment each other perfectly.
~*~*~*~The Inn in Libia~*~*~*~
Liz placed her things on the bed of the room she was shown to. She walked to the dresser and lit a lamp. Her stomach grumbled letting her know that she was hungry but she wanted to get things situated and she also wanted to lay out an outfit for the following day. She knew that they would most likely be leaving early and she didn’t want to waist time having to get an outfit out.
Turning back around to face her bed she noticed a package on it. Wondering who it could be from she cautiously walked up to it. There was no address or name on the package just a small note. She opened the note and read what was written.
”Open me up and wear me. Then go down to the main room and await further instructions,” the note said.
Liz looked at the package one more time with questioning eyes before opening it up. She slowly undid the ribbon that was holding the package together hoping that this wasn’t some sort of joke, and like a snake jumped out of the package or something.
Once the ribbon was off the package Liz unfolded the paper to see what was inside. She gasped at what she saw. Tears filled her eyes and she was slightly confused.
Inside the package was a dress, a beautiful ivory white dress complete with shoes. She took the dress out of the paper and smoothed out the wrinkles. Remembering what the note said she quickly climbed out of her clothes and put the new dress on. Wondering who would leave such a gift for her she rushed to finish getting ready so she could do down to the main room to get her next set of directions.
Liz rushed down the steps and walked into the main room. She looked around but didn’t see anyone she knew. A small panicked feeling started to settle over her but she swallowed it and continued to walk into the room. She noticed a man sitting in the chair closest to the door and for some unknown reason she knew that he was going to give her the next part of her message. He was looking right at her and smiled.
“Miss Whitman?” he asked. She nodded her head telling him to continue with his message. “I’m supposed to give you a ride to your destination, you and your escorts,” he said.
Liz wondered who her escorts were but she didn’t have to wait long. Alex and Isabel came walking into the main room just then. She smiled at them as they walked up to her.
“Are you all ready?” the driver asked.
“Yes we are,” Alex told him.
The three of them followed the man outside and climbed into his car. He started the ignition and pulled away from the inn. Liz took in the scenery as they drove and wondered where they were going.
“Do you guys have any idea where we’re being taken?” Liz asked.
“Well, um, no,” Isabel stammered.
Liz knew right then and there that they did and she was slightly mad that they wouldn’t tell her but whoever put this together wanted her to be surprised so she let it slide and just watched as the landmarks passed by her window.
The driver stopped in front of an old looking church and Liz looked at it questioningly. “Are we going to mass?” she asked.
Alex just shook his head and offered Liz and Isabel his arm. Both girls took it and they walked towards the entrance. Once Alex opened the door Isabel let go of his arm and rushed to close the doors leading to the church.
“Someone wants to talk to you before we go in there,” Alex told his sister leading her to a room off to the side of the church. He opened the door and she walked in.
Alex closed the door behind her and Liz looked around the room. There was no one in the room and she once again wondered what was going on. She waited for twenty minutes before there was a knock at the door.
Getting up from the chair she was sitting on Liz walked to the door and opened it. Isabel stood on the other side of the door. Liz scowled at her but when she saw Isabel’s smile something inside Liz told her that there was something really special going on in this church today.
“Come on, we’ve got a really big surprise for you,” Isabel said to Liz grabbing her hand pulling her out of the room.
Alex was waiting for them to join him in the middle of the two huge doors. They were still closed but Alex was standing there waiting for them. Liz looked at Alex and then at Isabel. Neither had much expression on their faces, just small smiles that they were trying really hard to conceal.
Isabel stopped in front of Alex and handed Liz over. She stood in front of them and opened the door. Liz didn’t notice the doors opening she was looking at Alex trying to figure out what he and Isabel had up their sleeves. Isabel started walking down the aisle and the movement caught Liz’s eye. She turned her head to see where Isabel was going and gasped at the sight before her.
Standing at the front of the church was Max along with Michael and Maria. The three of them were waiting for her and in the middle of the alter was a priest. Liz’s eyes shot to Alex’s face.
“What’s all this?” she questioned quietly.
“Well my dear sister, I would thing it obvious, the man you love is marrying you tonight,” Alex laughed beginning his decent down the aisle. Liz walked with him because he was still holding onto her, and she had a goofy smile on her face. Max was marrying her!

AN: Well, I don’t have too much homework today so I decided to take a break from the book that I’m trying to write and give you an update on this fic. It’s been so long and I know I left it at an awful spot but I hope that this makes up for it.
The wedding ceremony isn’t a really sermon. I just made it up in my head. I hope it’s ok. LOL…leave me feedback and let me know.
From Part 11:
“What’s all this?” she questioned quietly.
“Well my dear sister, I would thing it obvious, the man you love is marrying you tonight,” Alex laughed beginning his decent down the aisle. Liz walked with him because he was still holding onto her, and she had a goofy smile on her face. Max was marrying her!
“You agreed to this?” Liz whispered to her brother. “It’s not something I could see you doing. Am I dreaming?”
“No Elizabeth you are not dreaming, and yes I agreed to this. Maxwell told me that he was in love with you and well, I couldn’t help but not believe him, although he does know that if he hurts you he will have to answer to me,” Alex told her.
“Oh Alex! Thank you so much you don’t know how much this means to me!” Liz exclaimed throwing her arms around his neck.
“I know it’s a bit rushed and all that but we won’t be back near another town until we reach the Lost City and I don’t think there is a minister there who will be able to marry you so I actually set this up with Maxwell. I wanted to see the two of you married before anything could happen to soil your good name,” he whispered walking her down the isle.
Max watched as Liz approached him. He couldn’t believe his luck. He was marrying the woman of his dreams in a matter of moments and he’d be spending the rest of his life with her. Things couldn’t get better for him.
Maria stood waiting for Liz to reach the front of the church and looked over at her brother. She could see the love reflecting across his face and it brought tears to her eyes. She was so happy that he had finally found someone to love and who loved him in return. At the rate he was going Maria was afraid that he was going to grow old alone, but as it turned out he just needed to find a woman who was his match in every way. Maria turned her attention back to Liz and smiled at the petite woman making her way towards them. Whatever she did to capture Max’s heart Maria didn’t know but she was grateful for it.
Alex stopped in front of Max and waited for the minister to begin.
“Who gives this young woman away?” he asked.
“I do,” Alex replied.
He handed Liz’s hand over to Max and then took his place next to Michael. He was saddened that he was losing his baby sister but he knew that Max would make her happy, he could just see it on her face.
“Dearly Beloved we are gathered here today to celebrate the joining of Maxwell Philip Evans, and Elizabeth Claudia Whitman in holy matrimony. The union of marriage is a sacred union shared with a man and a woman to express their undying love for one another. It is a give and take relationship where no one has more control or power over the other. You must always remember that when times get tough. If you believe in one another and your love you will be able to overcome any obstacle,” the minister said.
Maria pulled out a handkerchief and dabbed at her eyes. Weddings were always so moving but this was even more so. Of course she cried at her own wedding, but the happiness that Max and Liz are finding right now is just amazing and the minister’s words were beautiful.
“If any present object to this joining speak now or forever hold your piece,” the minister said.
Max and Liz looked around to their friends and family but no one said anything. “Very well. Please repeat after me,” continued the minister. “Do you Maxwell take Elizabeth Claudia Whitman to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, to love honor and cherish above all others, in sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live?”
“I do,” Max replied.
“Do you Elizabeth take Maxwell Philip Evans to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, to love, honor, and cherish above all others, in sickness and in health for as long as you both shall live?” the minister asked her.
“Yes I do,” she replied smiling.
“The rings,” the minister said turning to Michael.
From the pocket of his jacket Michael pulled out two gold wedding bands and handed them to the minister. The minister took them and blessed them before handing one to each Max and Liz.
“Please repeat after me Maxwell,” he said. “With this ring I pledge my love for you. I promise to try my hardest to make you happy, and never wanting for anything, but most of all I promise to love you until the end of my days.”
“With this ring I pledge my love for you. I promise to try my hardest to make you happy, and never wanting for anything, but most of all I promise to love you until the end of my days,” Max repeated slipping the ring onto Liz’s left hand.
She looked up into his smiling face wiping the tears from her eyes. “Now you Elizabeth repeat after me. With this ring I pledge my love for you. I promise to try my hardest to make you happy, and never wanting for anything, but most of all I promise to love you until the end of my days.”
Liz turned towards Max and grasped the ring in her hand. “With this ring I pledge my love for you. I promise to try my hardest to make you happy, and never wanting for anything, but most of all I promise to love you until the end of my days,” she said slipping the ring onto Max’s finger.
They both turned towards the minister who blessed them. “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,” he said smiling.
Max pulled Liz into his arms and cupped her cheeks rubbing his thumbs across her cheekbones. He pulled her to him and gently placed his lips over hers kissing her softly. Liz wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back enjoying being in his arms. They kissed for a good five minutes when Michael cleared his throat breaking them apart.
Liz blushed slightly as her friends congratulated her on her marriage. She still couldn’t believe that she was Mrs. Maxwell Evans now, it all seemed like a dream, and she was afraid that any moment she was going to wake up.
Max escorted his bride out of the church into the waiting car. He had managed to rent them a car and a hotel suite for the evening and he wasn’t about to waste a precious moment of their short-lived privacy.
Michael, Maria, Isabel, and Alex were waiting on the steps for them when they came out of the church. Even though the wedding party was small Maria wouldn’t let tradition die so she made sure the others were waiting for Max and Liz to emerge from the church so they could throw the rice.
Liz laughed as she and Max dashed from the church doors to the car amid a rainstorm of rice. She had to remember to thank both Maria and Isabel for this they were the two best friends in the whole world. They managed to keep this a secret and get her ready all in a day’s time. She had to give them credit.
Liz sighed as she rested her head against Max’s shoulder. She still couldn’t believe that she was married. The feelings she was experiencing at this moment were beyond explanation for her. She was happy, excited, frightened, and slightly overwhelmed, but above all she was happy and in love. The fact that Max would go and do something like this was just…well amazing was the only word she could think of.
“What are you thinking about?” Max murmured kissing the top of her head.
“I was thinking of how happy I am right at this particular moment,” Liz told him.
“Really? How happy are you?” he asked.
“So incredibly happy that I can’t even find the words to express it. It’s like I still can’t believe that you did all this for us,” she said.
“Well I knew from that first time you walked through the doors, when we first met and I saw you, that I was in love with you. Well ok, I didn’t know I was in love with you when I saw you, but I did think you were beautiful. But then you started talking about this expedition and I don’t know I fell in love with you. You’re spunk, your excitement, your love of life and your work, and how much you and Alex are a part of one another’s lives. I don’t know exactly how to explain it but I just knew, right then and there, that you were it for me,” he explained.
Liz wiped her tears off her face for the second time in a matter of a half hour. She normally hated to cry but Max’s words moved her to the point of tears and she was proud of that. For someone to love her that much and only after knowing her such a short period of time amazed her.
“I think I fell in love with you that first day on the boat. I don’t know what it was but there was just something about you that I couldn’t help but find irresistible,” Liz told him laughing.
Their car stopped in front of the hotel. It wasn’t the Ritz but it would have to do. One couldn’t complain while on an expedition and since they were going to be pretty much sleeping on the ground after these next two days Liz didn’t care where they were as long as they had a bed.
Max climbed out of the car and helped Liz to the ground. They walked hand in hand into the lobby of the hotel after Max paid the driver. They walked up to the desk to get their key and then headed up to their room.
Liz’s nervousness started to come back now. She wasn’t sure about this part of married life, as she’d never experienced it before and she didn’t want Max to find her lacking. She just wasn’t sure she would please him and that scared her.
Max could feel her trembling and wrapped his arms around his wife. “What’s wrong?”
“Liz? Don’t lie to me please? What’s the matter?”
“Well, it’s just. It’s stupid don’t worry about it.”
“Hey,” he said turning her to face him. “Nothing that you’re scared about can be stupid. Please tell me?”
“Well, I’m just afraid that, well that you won’t be pleased with me,” she said so softly he almost didn’t hear her.
“Not be pleased with you?” he questioned before realization hit him. “Liz I love you. You will always please me.”
That helped to calm her nerves enough for her to stop shaking but deep in the back of her mind a little voice kept saying over and over again that she was going to be horrible, and Liz couldn’t get it to shut up.
They walked into their suite and Liz gasped at how beautiful it was. The room was painted an off white and the sheets were a deep navy blue. There was a four-poster bed against the right wall and a balcony outside the window on the right wall. They had their own private bath, which was very nice and their trunks were already in the room.
“I had the trunks brought over earlier, but I didn’t get the key because well, I was so nervous that I was afraid that I’d lose it,” chuckled Max.
Sorry guys but my brain is not functioning anymore. I promise I’ll try to get another part out soon.
