Title: For The First Time
Category: AU. Max and Liz. NO Aliens.
*Special thanks to talena for making this banner for me. *
Disclaimer: Roswell character’s don’t belong to me, even though I wish. They belong to someone getting rich off of the characters that they screwed over. Glorious belongs to Andreas Johnson. Everything belongs to Lifehouse. Liz/Isabel’s family life was inspired from the Final Friends trilogy by Christopher Pike. Nothing belongs to me.
NOTE: This story is based on tryanese's challenge on the fan fic board, which is based upon her The Valentino Sisters, which she had trouble writing. Just don't want anyone to think that I'm copying her or anything. I am following the list that she wanted in the story. And just carry that Dreamer insurance at times. I am a big Dreamer, keep that in mind. And I do have a plan for everything that happens in the story.
Liz could see that a storm was brewing as she watched the waves of the Pacific crash against the rocks below the cliffs. The way that the black clouds were rolling in, the way that the wind was howling. It was all so beautiful, she thought to herself.
She knew that she be heading on home, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave. Not yet, anyway. She was thinking about Max Evans again. Like she usually was. The only guy that she fell in love with; the guy that changed her life in so many ways. Just thinking about Max caused so many emotions inside of her. Yearning, anger, passion, anguish, pain and love.
Her life wasn’t the same as it had been before. And she was grateful for that. She had been changed in so many different ways. She was no longer the girl who only cared about getting a tan, buying expensive clothes, going on vacations, getting good grades and getting laid by just about anyone.
When Max Evans walked into her life after winter vacation her senior year, Liz had first thought that he was cute. That he would be a good roll in the sack. She had never seen anyone that was as gorgeous as him. Liz didn’t realize it at first, but later, when she did, she knew that she had fallen in love with him when she’d first seen him.
As she picked a sunflower from the ground, she remembered exactly what he had been wearing. Max was wearing a tight olive colored T-shirt that showed off the hard muscles in his chest, the blue jeans that showcased his powerful thighs. His jet black hair fell over his forehead, and his slightly stuck out ears had gave him a boyish look. And his eyes, never in Liz’s life had she seen a color quite as beautiful as them. They were a golden color.
Throwing the flower over the cliff, Liz was happy that her life was changed. Max was the person that was responsible for changing her life. For making her fall in love for the first time.

NOTE: So I thought what the hell. Give them another chapter before I went to work. Don’t know when I can get the next on out, since I don’t have a free day off work until Wednesday.
Six months earlier. . . . .
“So you and Troy Perkins? So how was no brain Perkins in the sack? Was he a dud like Paulie Newman?” Isabel Markham asked her little sister, as she eased the car into the parking lot of their high school. Isabel knew from experience that some jocks weren’t all that great. When she had slept with Andy Barns, he had barely lasted for a minute, and than he’d collapsed on top of her. She had felt so humiliated. He hadn’t even cared that it had done absolutely nothing for her. Hell, if she had known he was that bad, she would have stayed at home with her vibrator.
Liz Markham shrugged her shoulders. “It was okay. Maybe about a four point five on the fuck scale. I wouldn’t recommend it again. I swear no one will ever measure up to Doug Shellow’s eight. Hell, in the three years since, I think that the closest someone’s gotten is a six.”
“Maybe we’re just judging them too harshly. Well, maybe not. So I slept with Alex Whitman the other night while you were entertaining Troy. I’ve got to say for a nerd type, he did pretty good for himself. He was about a solid seven. Of course, he had the problem of coming early after I went down on him. But after that he lasted pretty long. It was a very pleasant surprise. Alex and I went at it for a few hours. I probably gave him the best time of his life.” Isabel said with a smile, not wanting to tell Liz that she suspected that Alex had been a virgin. That really wasn’t something that she wanted to share with her sister, even though she shared just about everything with her.
“I can’t believe that you slept with him. He’s like a member of the chess club, Isabel. What was in it for you, Izzy?” Liz asked with a smirk. She knew her sister so well. She was positive that there had been a reason that Isabel had lowered herself down to Alex Whitman. Liz knew that he wasn’t a horrible person, but he just wasn’t in their social league. He was a itty bitty blimp on the social radar. Hell, he might not even be on it. That’s how far down there he was.
“Well, you know that I did get that B in fucking Government. So he did a little switcheroo. He changed my grade, and that was what I wanted. He got what he wanted. Do you think that Alex Whitman cared about me, Isabel Markham? No, all he wanted was a night with one of the popular girls in school. He got what he wanted and I got what I wanted. End of story.” Isabel told her sister. None of the boys at school cared about the real Isabel, all they wanted was to be able to say that they slept with her, and she gave them that. Gave them something to remember, not that she would ever remember them.
Liz nodded her head. She understood why Isabel had done that. Hell, she had done the same thing on numerous occasions. Well, only twice. She was usually in her top form on her grades. She always kept her grades high. Over the years, both she and Isabel had worked hard to keep themselves above the rest. They were the most popular girls, the smartest, most beautiful. “Oh, crap, Isabel. Milton wants us to come by the office after school. We’ve got sign some papers about the restaurant that’s being built. I swear we got to pay more attention to the business.”
Isabel nodded her head. Chancellor Construction was the company that their grandfather had started back in the 50's. And when their parents had died the company had went to her and Liz. But when they were underage, it had been managed by a board of directors, but now since she was nineteen and Liz had turned eighteen last month, it was officially theirs. “Yeah. So who is going to be next on the list?”
Liz shrugged her shoulders. The boys at school were far from interesting. They usually only thought with one thing. “I’m not sure. Maybe I should just forget about these insipid little boys. Most of them aren’t even good in the sack.” she said snidely. Part of Liz was wondering if she was just getting tired with the whole bullshit. Part of her thought that maybe there was something more out there, instead of the simple fucks that she would get.
“I think that you may be onto something there. I mean, these little boys aren’t all that good. They don’t know how to pleasure a woman. That’s why I’m going to go for Jesse Ramirez.” Isabel said, nodding her head. Jesse was older than her. He was about twenty five years old. Isabel liked that he was older; it meant that he had more experience than the high school boys.
“Alright, I think that it’s time to show these high school losers how to dress.” Liz said, nodding her head. Some of the fashion sense of the girls at school wasn’t the best. Her and Isabel had always gotten their clothes from only the most expensive places. Ever since they were little, it was only the best of everything for the Markham girls. It was something that their parents had instilled in them before they had died.
“You’re right, baby sister.” Isabel said as she opened the Lexus that she’d driven to school. She knew that she looked good. She had chosen her outfit for the first day back to school very carefully. A red beaded top with a black camisole under and a black spandex-like skirt. Isabel loved wearing red, it was the best color on her. It had been the color that she had worn when she’d seduced Alex Whitman.
Liz brushed her hair out of her face. She had taken the plunge and finally cut her hair. Other than trims, she had never cut her hair, her mother had always said that she had the most beautiful hair and that she should never cut it. But Liz had gotten tired of it. Plain, straight and dark. So she had got it cut just beneath her shoulders, layered, and had some highlights added into it. She’d loved the job that Pierre had done. And she knew that she looked great in her slim white tube dress with clear elastic straps and a side slit along with her Jimmy Choo shoes.
The two girls made their way into the school like they owned it. Paying little attention to the glares that the other girls sent there way, or the lusty looks that the boys sent there way. Liz and Isabel didn’t stop walking until they had reached their lockers, which were side by side. Liz quickly opened her locker and retrieved her binder, which she had thrown in there just before vacation.
A smile crossed Liz’s face when she saw the guy. Resisting the urge to purr, she looked him over carefully. He had jet black hair that was falling over onto his forehead, his ears stuck out just a little, but it gave him a boyish look that she found appealing. She couldn’t tell what color his eyes were, but she was thinking that they had to be a brown or a hazel, especially with the color of his skin tone which was a golden color. He was wearing a tight olive colored T-shirt that showed off the hard muscles in his chest, and his blue jeans showcased his powerful thighs.
“Dibs on the new boy.” Liz said softly, to Isabel who was looking around in her locker for something. Usually when it came to the new boys in school, whoever saw him first got him. Liz licked her lips as she thought about this guy. What he would look like with his shirt off. What he would look like in her queen size bed, in all of his glory. He was definitely one of the best looking guys that she had ever seen. Too bad he was talking to Troy Perkins.
“Damn.” Isabel muttered, as she turned her attention away from her irritating locker, which was hiding her book from her. She looked at the new guy, and shrugged her shoulders. He was okay, nothing special. His ears were too big, she thought snidely.
Liz slammed her locker shut. She looked at her sister, and smiled. “I’m going to go talk to him. Be back in a few.” she said confidently. She had never had any trouble with guys. Ever since she was thirteen, when her breasts started coming in, the boys had been lining up. And Liz had learned well from Isabel, who had been so mature when it came to boys. Isabel had taught her everything that she knew.
Liz smiled flirtatiously at him, not paying any attention at all to Troy, who was smiling at her. “Can you settle a debate? My sister says boxers, but I think you go commando.” she said slyly.
“Hey, baby. What’s up? I tried calling you a few times. Did you get my messages?” Troy Perkins asked, trying to get closer to the beautiful brunette who had been on his mind for a while.
Liz curled a lip at him, and looked down her nose at him. “Yeah, I did. But Troy, babe. You know that it was just a fling. That was what you wanted. You didn’t want poor sweet Lanie to find out about what you’ve been doing behind her back, did you?” she said, speaking of his girlfriend.
Troy narrowed his eyes at her, not liking the way that she was dismissing him. “This is Max Evans. He’s new here. This is Liz Markham. The blonde over there is her sister, Isabel.” he remarked, bitting down on his tongue, instead of saying what he really wanted to say.
Max nodded his head. “Troy’s been showing me around. Showing me the lay of the land.”
Liz cocked an eyebrow at his words. Poor guy being stuck with Troy Perkins as his guide to the school. Hadn’t there been anyone better for him, she thought snidely. Well, she could always show him around. “Oh, if you want I can show you around. I know a lot better places than Troy does.”
Troy nodded his head. “Yeah, she does.” He was thinking about Liz’s sexual history. He had heard some of the weird things that she had done. He’d heard that she and her sister liked to have threesomes. And he had been curious to know if that had been true or not. And to his utter dismay, Liz hadn’t even hinted at that when they were together the other night.
Max shook his head. “No. I’m fine with Troy as my guide. Besides, he’s got to show me guy things. And I don’t think that you could get into the boys locker room.” he said, raising an eyebrow at her.
“Don’t be too sure about that.” Liz commented, thinking about the time that she had been in there. Memories, she thought with a smile. It had been way too long since she’d been in there. Note to self: Go to boys locker room.
“Come on, Evans. Let’s go. I’ve got more to show you. See you around, Liz.” Troy said curtly, wanting to throttle the petite brunette. He knew that he had been an idiot. He had thought that he might have made a difference to her play girl ways, but he hadn’t.
Liz pouted at his words, not wanting to let this hunk out of her sight. She wanted him. She wanted him badly. And she was going to have him. If it was the last thing that she did. “Why don’t we get together, Max? I can show you all the highlights of Monterey. Probably more than anyone else could ever show you.” she said suggestively.
“No thanks. I don’t plan on seeing any of the sights that Monterey has. It doesn’t appeal to me.” Max said, quickly blowing her off.
Liz cocked an eyebrow at him. She didn’t like the way that he had said that. He had said it all politely, but she had caught the hidden meaning in his words and she didn’t like it one bit. But she knew that it was probably Troy’s influence. She wasn’t about to let that jerk stand in the way of her getting Max Evans. He was going to be her next conquest and she was going to get him in bed.
When Max and Troy started walking away, she sighed dramatically. “Leaving so soon? Too bad. I was just about to hit on you. Guess it’ll have to wait till next time.” she said blowing a kiss at him. As Liz moved back to where Isabel was standing, she didn’t hear what Troy said to Max.
“I’d watch out for them if I were you, Evans. Liz and Isabel Markham are like the town bicycle. Everyone’s had a ride on them.” Troy said crudely, wanting to get back at Liz for dismissing him the way that she had. Who the hell did she think she was? “I swear, someone has to teach her a lesson.”

NOTE: I’m going to be getting into Liz’s home life a bit with this chapter. And anyone who’s read any of my other stories, knows that I like complex characters, so you know that this LIZ is going to be one. BTW, Alex is kind of put down in this chapter, so don't shoot me. I've got nothing but love for that boy.
Liz knew that she was pretty. Maybe not beautiful like Cindy fucking Crawford, but she had done well for herself. She’d been involved with a steady stream of guys since she was fourteen years old. Her body wasn’t spectacular or anything. She had lush breasts, a tiny waist, sleek hips and long legs. Long considering that she stood at five-one.
Liz knew that she looked like her mother. Aunt Martha had always said that. And even though Liz knew that it held some truth, she’d sometimes thought that the old woman was crazy. Great Aunt Martha was nearly seventy years old. Aunt Martha had a heart attack a few months ago, and spent most of the time in bed ever since. Liz hated that she knew that someday Aunt Martha would die. When that happened, Isabel would be the only family that she had left. Everyone else in the Markham and Chancellor family was gone.
Her parents had been dead for so long. They had died when she was eight years old. Some days Liz could hardly remember the accident, while other days it came to her at full swing. They had been coming back from a trip to Newport Beach. Isabel hadn’t been with them, because she had been sick. So it had just been the three of them. Her dad, John and her mother, Natalie.
If Liz closed her eyes, she could remember what had happened before the accident. Before the car had driven off the road, before the car had burst into flames. All she had wanted was another soda from the cooler. But her dad, he’d said no. He’d gotten angry at her. Told her that she was a bad girl.
She had been the only one to survive. Both of her parents had burned to death in the car, while she had gotten away. While she had escaped with not even a scratch on her body. And when she’d gone home, back to Aunt Martha and Isabel, she’d been sad. So sad over her parents death.
Aunt Martha had sent her a hospital since she had been so sad all of the time. Liz hadn’t liked the doctors. They had lied to her. They lied all of the time. They said that it wouldn’t hurt. But it had.
“The wires won’t hurt. You won’t even feel them, Liz.”
But she had. She had felt it all. It had hurt. Liz shook her head, not wanting to go there. She didn’t want to think about that right now. She was going to go to a party and she was going to have fun. She was going to flirt with Max Evans. She was going to dance with him. And she was going to get him in bed. She knew what she wanted and she wasn’t about to let anything stand in her way.
She had everything going for her. She was pretty, smart, and damn good in bed. What more could a guy want? Liz wasn’t looking for anything permanent. She couldn’t even fathom the idea of ever being with anyone the way that her parents had. Well, she had once a long time ago. Way back when she was fifteen years old. Doug Shellow had come into her life. Introduced her to sex among other things. And in the end, he had just threw her aside like she was nothing. Sometimes she wondered where the hell good old Doug was?
“Hey, Liz. Are you ready?” Isabel asked, striking a pose in the doorway of Liz’s room. Her sister looked like she had something else on her mind. Isabel couldn’t help but wonder what it could be. Isabel was wearing a fitted pair of black leather pants, with a deep red crushed velvet halter top, completed with a pair of red patent leather strappy high heeled sandals. Perfect outfit for this stupid party they were going to.
Liz nodded her head, shaking away her thoughts. She was all ready to go. The weather was still a little cool, so she was wearing tight white dress pants and a black turtleneck sweater minus the bra. Max Evans wasn’t going to know what hit him.
During the past two weeks of school, she’d used every opportunity that she had to try to entice him with her charms. But so far, he had resisted. Which had shocked her. It was certainly a first time that had ever happened. No one had ever before turned her down. But Max Evans had. He’d turned her down a number of times.
Liz knew that it only had to do with Troy Perkins, that fucking idiot. She knew that he was the one that was putting ideas into Max’s head. But Liz didn’t care. She wanted him. She wanted him so badly that she could taste it. Troy Perkins be damned!
Max Evans was going to be hers. Liz had seen Max talking to that tramp Pam Troy. Pam was such a skank with no class. Liz knew that she was so much better than Pam, and that Max would see it soon.
“Let’s go say bye to Aunt Martha.” Isabel said, breaking into Liz’s thoughts. It had hit her about what Liz was probably thinking about. Max Evans. Frankly, Isabel didn’t understand why Liz was so determined to get him. He wasn’t all that cute. But it was weird. It was like he had a force on her sister. Isabel had noticed it and she didn’t like it. It didn’t seem normal to her.
Liz nodded her head again, not saying anything to her sister. The two girls walked down stairs to the bedroom of their great aunt. Before their aunt's heart attack, it had been getting harder and harder for her to walk up the stairs, so last summer they had moved her room downstairs in order to make things better. But it hadn't. She only got worse.
“Hey, Auntie. Liz and I are going to leave.” Isabel said softly, as they entered their aunt’s bedroom. It broke Isabel’s heart when she saw her aunt’s chest wheeze wearily up and down. She knew that it was going to be soon. That her aunt was going to die any day now. She had suffered a near fatal heart attack Halloween night. Both she and Liz hadn’t been there when it happened. Something they both regretted. Not begin there for their aunt.
“Are you girls happy?” Martha Chancellor Randolph whispered, her lips barely moving. Ever since the heart attack, her expression never changed. It was as if she was impatient for the end to come.
“Of course, we’re happy. Why wouldn’t we be?” Liz said softly, even though she honestly didn’t know if she was or not. She wasn’t sure exactly what happy felt like. Liz was sure that she must have been happy when her parents were still alive, but that had been so long ago, she wasn’t sure if she would even recognize it anymore.
“Liz is right. We are happy.” Isabel said, nodding her head, not wanting her aunt to know the truth. The truth was that Isabel Chancellor Markham was not happy. She hadn’t been happy in a long time. But in the past few days she had begun to feel happy; every time that she was with Jesse, she felt happy.
“I remember the first day that you two went to kindergarten. Your mother had kept you back, Isabel so you and Liz could go to school together. You two were so beautiful, you were holding hands and wearing bright colored dresses. Isabel, you were wearing a red dress and Liz, you were wearing a green dress. I bought them myself at a store in Beverly Hills.” Martha said, her eyes rolling upward towards the ceiling, going slightly out of focus.
Liz meet Isabel’s eyes. She knew that it was coming soon. Any day now. Their aunt was going to die. She was going to leave them. And they would have no one in their lives but themselves. They would be on their one, alone with only each other. It scared Liz. She didn’t like being alone. “Get some sleep, Auntie.” she said, brushing a hair from her forehead.
“We’ll be home early.” Isabel commented, to the already asleep older woman. Turning away, Isabel meet the eyes of their aunt’s nurse, Chelsea Street. She was an older woman, who had been a nurse for nearly twenty five years. “If there’s an emergency, page us.”
Chelsea nodded. “Go have some fun, girls. Martha will be fine for the night.” she told them softly. They knew that it could be any day, and they would lose the only family that they had left. Chelsea felt so sorry for them.
The girls were quiet as they made their way to Liz’s 1965 red Mustang. It had actually been their fathers, but he had left it for Liz when he died. She adored the car. It was only when they entered the car, did Liz let out a sob. “She’s going to die soon, Izzy. She’s going to die and than we’ll be the only ones left.”
Isabel touched her sister lightly on the shoulder. “I know. She’s going to die. But I’m not going to leave you. I’m never going to leave you.” she told her sister softly. She didn’t want for Liz to ever have to worry about her. Isabel was never ever going to leave her baby sister. Never!
Liz nodded her head. “Me neither. I’m never going to leave you, Isabel. I don’t know what I would do if I lost you, too. I just feel so helpless to do anything. I can’t do anything to stop Auntie from dying.” she said quietly. She hated feeling helpless. She hated it!
“I know, Lizzie. Come on. Let’s not think about the bad things and let’s just go to this dumb party.” Isabel commented, wanting to make Liz feel better. To get her baby sister’s mind off of the whole subject. Just to think of something that didn’t hurt so much. Isabel just wanted to go and have some fun and not think about her aunt. There was nothing that she could do about that. But she could make Liz feel better.
“Yes, you’re right. Let’s go and have some fun. Max Evans is bound to be there. And I’m going to do everything in my power to make him mine. I know that that idiot Troy was telling Max crap about me. Courtney Lewis told me that she overheard Troy talking to Max about getting me back for blowing him off. Can you believe that? What a fucking loser. I should tell Lanie all about her idiotic boyfriend.” Liz said, shaking her head at what Troy had done as she started up her car, wanting to get the hell away from her house. She didn’t even know why she had given him a chance with her. He was nothing but a jerk. Talking about getting back at her for what she had done? He had known the score. After all, he was the one that had a girlfriend.
Isabel shook her head at Liz’s words. Sometimes it amazed her on how easily Liz could move on to another subject. She couldn’t help but wonder if it had something to do with what the doctors had done to Liz so long ago. “He what? He said that he was going to get you back for not wanting another round with him? What a fucking punk? Don’t worry, Max Evans should come to his senses pretty quickly. He’ll realize what a ass Troy is. Besides, who could resist my beautiful sister?”
Liz shrugged her shoulders as she drove to the Banks house, where the party was being held at. “Yup, he’ll come to his senses. I’m not going to stop until I’ve had that one. It wouldn’t be good for my reputation if I just gave up. Not that I would. He so looks like he would be good in bed, Izzy. So what’s up with you and lawyer Jesse? Got him in bed already?” she wondered.
Isabel gave a secretive smile. “Oh, I’ve had some fun times with Jesse. And I have to admit that I really do like him. He’s a great guy and he’s great in bed. I think that I might keep him around for awhile longer. I mean, he really does know how to treat a woman.” Isabel wanted more from Jesse. She was thinking about making it permanent. She was thinking about him being her boyfriend. She knew that he might get some flack since she was younger than him. But she wasn’t by much. And it wasn’t like she was underage or anything. Thanks to her mother, who had wanted both of the girls to be in the same grade, she was older than the other seniors at school.
Liz nodded his head. “Yeah, he looks like he knows exactly what he’s doing. Nothing like the idiots that go to school with us. Though, I do think that Max Evans would know what to do. Yes, he’s got that boyish look to him, but you know, he’s probably got that nympho underneath it all. I swear, Isabel, I want him so badly. There’s so much that I want to do to him. I think that when I do finally get him in bed, I should tie him up for making me work harder. What do you think?” she said winking at her sister.
Isabel gave a laugh. “As long as I don’t have to hear it. I’m fine with it all. Besides, torture sounds very nice. You go, little sister. Claim that boy.” she said with a smile. If her sister was going to get with Max tonight, she would have to go over to Jesse’s for the night. Well, she wouldn’t have to, but she wanted to.
Liz gave her sister a devilish smile. “So what happened with Whitman? Did he come to you and ask for another round? Or did he stay away?” she asked curiously. Liz had to admit that underneath his nerdy exterior, he did seem to have some cuteness coming in. That one day he might be a handsome guy. That is, if he ever grew into his body and his feet would stop growing. Alex Whitman was skinny, he needed to gain some muscles, weight or something that wouldn’t make him look like a scarecrow anymore.
Isabel shrugged her shoulders, trying to act nonchalantly about it. She didn’t want to think about what had happened when Alex had talked to her. He had said some things that had made her feel badly about what she had done. “Nothing, like I said before. He got what he wanted and so did I. He just said thanks for the night. That’s it.” she said, hating that she was lying to her sister.
Liz cocked an eyebrow at her sister. She felt that there was something more than Isabel wasn’t telling her. But she wasn’t about to push her. Neither one of them liked to be pushed. “We’re going to have a lot of fun tonight.” she said, changing the subject. If Isabel wanted to tell her than she would. Liz knew that she was going to get Max Evans tonight. She just had to.

tyranese, I have no life, so that leaves me time to write.
chinablueeyes, Nice to see you here. No, Michael and Maria are not going to be in this story. In the sequel, yes.
Son of a bitch! Max Evans was talking to that trampy Pam Troy. That tramp had her diseased hands all over Max. Liz hated Pam Troy with every fiber of her body. Ever since they were little, the two girls had been at each other’s throats. Liz couldn’t even remember how they came to start hating each other so much. They just did.
“I’m going over there, Izzy. I’ll see you later.” Liz told her sister, making her way towards Max. When Liz reached to where he was, she gave him a seductive smile, firmly ignoring Pam. “Hey, Max. Nice to see you.”
“Rude much, Liz? Max and I were having a private conversation.” Pam said, glaring angrily at the other girl. She hated Liz Markham, and she knew that Liz wanted Max. But Pam wasn’t about to let Liz get him. Not when she had lost most of her other guys to Liz. This one was different. This one didn’t jump when Liz asked.
“Pam, sweetie. Two words— Breath mint. Go get one, your disgusting.” Liz said snidely, barely looking the other girl. All of her attention was focused on Max, who looked simply delectable in his tight black t-shirt and jeans. She wanted to fuck him so badly. Liz didn’t understand it exactly. Why she was so damn drawn to him. To someone who had blown her off on several occasions.
Pam looked at Liz for a moment, angry by her words but than she simply ran off, horrified that her breath might not be the best. And in front of Max Evans too.
“Dance with me, Max.” Liz said, giving him a seductive smile. She twined her arms around his neck, pressing her full breasts against his chest. Liz nearly purred at the sensation of his body against her own. It was weird. It was as if there bodies fit together so perfectly. Liz wrapped her one of her hands around the back of his neck, sliding her fingers into his silky hair, while the other one moved to his shoulder, and began stroking him.
Liz looked into Max’s golden eyes and felt like she was going to lose herself in them. They were so beautiful. She had never seen any color like that. She couldn’t help but wonder how his eyes would look when he would make love to her.
Liz’s hand on his neck began moving, wanting to drive him insane. She began stroking the bare skin at the juncture of his neck, finally landing on the base of this throat. Liz loved the feel of his pulse pounding. She repressed the urge to run her tongue over his pulse. She knew that she would be able to do that later, when they weren’t in public with everyone watching them.
But she wanted more. Liz wanted to get closer to him. At the change of the music, Liz took her cue. She wrapped her arm tightly around his neck and pressed herself closer to him. Liz nearly sighed when she felt Max’s arms tightened around her waist.
Here she comes with the master plan
And I'm starting to lose control
Here she comes to this trash of man
And I'm ready to taste it all... when
Liz’s hands moved restlessly, tracing up his arms. Feeling the material underneath her hands made her want more. She wanted to feel his skin against her own. Making lazy patterns on his sleeves, she licked her lips, bringing her face closer to him. She was going to kiss him. She wanted him too much. Just than Liz felt Max’s hand slid underneath the hem of her sweater touching her bare skin on her back.
She's bringing me in
Checking me out
Making me glorious
Liz reached up and pulled Max’s mouth firmly against hers. She had to feel him. She had to feel his lips against her own. She wanted to feel him inside of her, but first she wanted to taste him. She opened her lips and pressed her tongue against his mouth, demanding that he open his lips. After what seemed like forever, Max finally opened his lips and their lips touched, hesitantly at first. But soon, they began exploring each other’s mouths, trying to find out everything about the other.
Here she comes like a brand new day
Belly dancing across the room
In the moonlight I watch her sway
To her rhythm I'll go as groom... with grace... tonight...
As their tongues danced with each other, their lower bodies were fused together. The feel of Max’s hard body against her own had Liz in heaven. She could feel his erection pressing into her stomach and all she wanted to do was to drag him away from the dance floor and have her way with him.
She's bringing me in
Checking me out
Making me glorious...
Well, here she comes
She's bringing me in
Checking me out
Making me glorious
She's bringing me in
Turning me on
Making me glorious
Abruptly, he pulled away from her. Liz looked at him confused by his actions. “Max, why’d you do that?” she asked confused. One moment he was kissing the daylights out of her and the next he was pulling away from her. Maybe he wanted for them to go somewhere else, she thought.
“We shouldn’t do this, Liz.” Max told her.
Liz cocked an eyebrow at him. “What are you shy about kissing me in front of everyone? Don’t worry, there not seeing anything that they haven’t done themselves. Or did you want to go somewhere else? Somewhere more private?” she said suggestively.
Max shook his head. “No. No. I don’t want what everyone else has already had.” he informed her.
Liz looked at him coldly. What a bastard. How dare he talk about her that way. “Who the hell do you think that you are talking to me that way? What you think that your too good for me? What the fuck? You know what, screw you, you asshole.” she told him coldly. What a bastard. Liz moved away from him, hate pouring from her eyes. She wanted to get as far away from him as possible.
Max shrugged his shoulders at her words. “I don’t want to take a ride on the village bicycle.”
Liz narrowed her eyes at him. “Don’t worry because you won’t ever.” she said, throwing her hair over her shoulder and walking away from the crowded room. As she moved through the crowded house, she searched for someone else. Someone that wouldn’t make her feel.
“Do you think I’m beautiful?” Liz asked as she straddled Kyle Valenti’s lap. As soon as she found Kyle, she had kissed him and dragged him to her car, where they were now. She had never been with Kyle Valenti, neither had Isabel. But Liz was about to change all of that. She wanted it to be a stab in the heart of Max Evans for what he had done to her. For saying all those things about her. The village bicycle.
His words hurt. It had been like she’d been stabbed in the heart. Like she had been stabbed repeatedly. No one had ever talked to her that way before. No one had ever said those kinds of things to her. She hated the way that he made her felt. Like she had done something wrong. But she hadn’t done anything wrong. Had she?
“Yeah, your beautiful. You’re more beautiful than anyone that I’ve ever seen before.” Kyle told her softly, stroking her thighs with his hands. Damn, here he was with Liz Markham in the back seat of her car. He hadn’t been expecting that, but it was a good surprise. Kyle had never thought that he would get a chance with her. He had a somewhat serious relationship with Ava Dupree, but she had ended it when they came back from vacation. Something that he didn’t understand.
Liz bit her lip unsurely at his words. He was only lying to her. She knew that he was. He was only saying it because he wanted to get her in bed. He wanted to have sex with her. That was the only reason that he was saying it. “Than why doesn’t Max Evans want me?” she whispered, unable to help herself.
Kyle looked at her with surprise. And for a moment he didn’t know what to think. Max Evans didn’t want Liz Markham? What the hell was wrong with the guy? She was one of the hottest chicks at school and he didn’t want her? Kyle suspected that it had something to do with Troy Perkins. He had heard some weird shit in the locker room. “That’s because Evans is a wuss.”
Liz shook her head at his words. She knew that wasn’t the reason. It was because she wasn’t pretty enough, because she wasn’t smart enough. That’s what Doug had told her. When he said that he wanted to stop seeing her, he said that she was ugly and fat and stupid. He said that he never wanted to have anything to do with her again. That’s what Max probably thought. He probably thought the same thing as Doug. “No, it’s because I’m not good enough. I’m not pretty enough, I’m too fat and I’m stupid. No one wants me.” she said softly, as she felt tears pool in her eyes. All she wanted to do was cry. That’s all that she wanted to do.
Kyle stopped his ministrations as he looked at the pretty brunette. What the hell? Liz Markham thought that she wasn’t good enough for that prick Evans? She thought that she wasn’t pretty or smart and she thought that she was fat. What the hell was she thinking? None of that was true. “What the hell are you talking about? You’re one of the smartest girls in school, you’ve got a great body and your beautiful.” he told her, still not understanding how someone like Liz could be so insecure.
Liz shook her head as tears poured from her eyes. She couldn’t keep them back anymore. She felt so disgusting sitting here in her own car. Sitting on Kyle’s lap this way. Liz quickly got off of him and wrapped her arms around her head. “Stop lying to me, Kyle. I know I’m ugly. I know I’m not start enough.” she said sobbing as Doug’s voice reverberated in her head.
Kyle looked at her helplessly, not knowing what else he was supposed to do. How could he make her feel better when he didn’t even know what to do. Didn’t know how he was supposed to make the most beautiful girl in school, who was shockingly insecure, feel better. How was he supposed to make her stop crying? Make her stop saying she was ugly and stupid?

NOTE: This story isn’t going to be very long. Only about ten chapters or so, long. But don’t worry there will be a sequel. Which will have be both Dreamer and StarGazer. And maybe some Candy stuff. Not too sure about that though.
Dedicated to: LittleBit, clueless (THREE TIMES) , mpls muse, FehrBehr, JDreamer, roswellluver, JaneLane, AvengingAngelIQ, frenchkiss70, Twilighteyes1974, PixieChic, Lana Lane, mitra, Roswelllostcause, Wench On A Leash, salonica, MoonLily, chinablueeyes, TeanHoney, mandyhanford (TWICE) , BelevnDreamsToo.
mpls muse, Kyle will become a friend to Liz, though you won’t see him anymore in this story. He will be in the sequel though.
Wench On A Leash, What the doctor did to Liz was electro shock. That was something that was used in order to help alleviate a person’s depression, but it has been found out that it really doesn’t. That it can cause brain damage to the person. Though I’m not too sure if I’m going to go into all of that. But that’s what happened.
Liz knew that she was insane. She was insane. And she knew that she was in love with Max Evans. It felt weird for her to say that. She’d never even come out and said it out loud. Elizabeth Chancellor Markham was in love with someone. She was in love with Max Evans, who hadn’t even looked at her in weeks. Liz felt so different. It was weird. It was like she was a new person.
Liz hadn’t been involved with anyone in months. Months!! That was something new for her. And she didn’t want to either. She didn’t want anyone else but Max. And in the last few weeks or so, Liz had become friends with Kyle Valenti. That had surprised her so much. But she liked Kyle and not in a sexual way. He had been a good friend to her in the last few weeks.
She never expected to become friends with Kyle Valenti. It had all started with her wanting to sleep with him, but than when she’d had her mini meltdown about Max, he had just talked to her. He’d told her about his mother leaving him and his father when he was a little boy. And when Isabel had come to the car, Liz had told Kyle to take a hike, and Liz had truly expected not to hear another word from Kyle.
But boy had she been wrong. When she arrived at school the following Monday, Kyle had practically pounced on her. He told her that she wasn’t going to get away so easily from him. And for several moments, Liz had thought that he had only told her all those things because he wanted to sleep with her. But he had shown her wrong. He had said that he wanted to be her friend. That it looked like she needed a friend. And Liz had jumped in head first. Friends with a boy. It was something new for her, but Liz had to admit that she liked it. Kyle had told her about his relationship with Ava Dupree. And that had made her realize that she loved Max. That the feelings that she had for Max were feelings of love.
It scared her so much. It scared her that she was in love. The things that she felt for Max was so different from what she had felt with Doug or anyone of the other boys. It was so much more. She felt anger at him for things that he had said to her, but she felt so much love for him. It was weird.
Liz Markham was in love. The big L. Liz had no idea what she was going to do. She loved him, but she didn’t know if she should tell him. Max might look at her all weird by her confession, not that she would blame him. Who would want a girl like Liz Markham in love with them? A girl who had fucked just about half the guys at school, while her sister fucked the other half.
Liz had been watching him during school for the past weeks. Frankly, she was thinking that she was starting to stalk him. But she learned so much about him. She learned that he loved reading Steinbeck. And that green was his favorite color. At least she thought so. He seemed to wear green a lot of the time. And he had such cute mannerism. She love the way that he bit his lip when he was nervous, or when he scratched his ear.
“Hey, Lizzie. Are you okay?” Isabel asked making her way into her sister’s room. She knew that something was going on with her sister. And she wanted to know what it was. Liz had been acting so strange. And Liz had become friendly with Kyle Valenti. And Liz hadn’t even slept with him either.
Liz smiled at her sister, sitting up in her bed. “Yeah, I’m fine. Why wouldn’t I be?” she replied. Liz knew that her behavior had probably started worrying her sister, but she didn’t care. She was a new person. She wasn’t going to be the same old bitchy Liz Markham. She wanted to be someone new. Someone different. She didn’t want to be the Liz who didn’t care about what happened to other people. True, she loved her family and cared deeply about what happened to them, she didn’t care about anyone else. She never had. Those other people weren’t her family and didn’t have a thing to do with her. But she was slowly realizing that wasn’t true.
“I wanted to tell you that I’m going to go spend the night at Jesse’s house.” Isabel informed her sister softly. Isabel honestly thought that she was in love with Jesse. The past few weeks with him had been like nothing else she ever felt before. Well, Isabel knew that she loved her sister and her aunt, but with Jesse it was something so much more. She and Jesse had been dating each other for nearly six weeks. It was the first time that she had even dated anyone. Mostly everyone else had been just someone to sleep with. But Jesse was so different.
Liz nodded her head at her sister’s words. She could tell that her sister was serious about Jesse Ramirez and it scared her a little bit. Liz was scared that Jesse would take her sister away from her. Isabel had never dated anyone like she was with Jesse. She didn’t want to lose her big sister. “Isabel, are you serious about Jesse?”
Isabel bit her lip as she meet Liz’s dark eyes. Liz looked so much like their mother. It was amazing. Sometimes looking at her sister, made her miss her mother so much. It made her think about her parent’s death and what happened to Liz afterwards. Her being in the hospital for a few months. Isabel had been so lost without Liz at her side. Isabel had vowed to herself that she would never let anything bad happen to her little sister. “Yes, I’m thinking that Jesse and I can become something serious. I do think that I’m in love with him and I’m scared. I’m so scared about it, Liz.”
Liz nodded her head. She completely understood what Isabel was talking about. She was so scared about being in love with Max. She was scared that if she gave him her heart that he would break it. She knew that Kyle had his heart broken by Ava, and Liz hoped that it didn’t happen to her. “Yeah. . . I understand. I. . . I think— no, I know that I’m in love with Max.” she said, breathing in deeply at her confession.
Oh, it felt so good to say it. To come out and say it. Liz had to admit that it was scary to say it even to her own sister, but it also felt good. Liz wanted so badly to tell him. To tell him that she was in love with him. She wanted to actually try having a relationship with someone instead of just having sex with them. She wanted to try to have a relationship with Max. She wanted to do all the things that Kyle had told her that he and Ava had done. Liz wanted to go out to the movies with Max, she wanted to go dancing with him, she wanted to go to dinner with him. Liz wanted to do everything that she could with him.
Isabel’s eyes widened in shock. Her sister had just admitted that she was in love with Max Evans. For a moment, Isabel didn’t know how she was supposed to respond. Her little sister was in love. Isabel sat down on the bed next to Liz, and took a deep breath. “Wow. Your in love with Max. How? I mean, you’ve barely spent any time with him, how can you think that your in love with him?” she wondered.
Liz shrugged her shoulders as she felt tears form in her eyes. She didn’t even know how it all had happened. But it did. She was in love with him. “I don’t know, Izzy. But I know that I’m in love with him. I want to try having a relationship with him. There’s so much that I want to do with him, and it’s not all sexual. I. . . . want to do normal things that boyfriend and girlfriends do. God, am I so freaking weird?” she asked, shaking her head.
Isabel smiled at her sister’s words. “No, your not weird, Lizzy. I understand what you want. I want those same things to. Being with Jesse is the first relationship that I have ever been in. And it’s weird and scary. It’s so scary. I’m afraid that I’m going to do something to screw it up. And I don’t want to. I’m. . . . happy with him. I’m happy when I’m with him. That’s something that I haven’t felt in a long time.” she confessed.
“Yeah. I don’t think that I’ve been happy since Mom and Dad died. Or maybe I have and I just haven’t ever realized it.” Liz sighed. She didn’t want to get into all of that right now. Talking about her parents and her not being happy with her life. “I think that I’m realizing that some of my past behavior wasn’t the best. I’m not proud of things that I have done. Sleeping with so many people. It wasn’t right, was it?”
Isabel didn’t know what to say. She honestly didn’t know if it was right or not. She had done the same things that Liz had done. The two of them had walked the same steps. “I don’t know, Liz. I don’t know if it was right or not. I have been thinking a lot about all of this since I started seeing Jesse. And part of me began thinking that maybe we were looking for something with all of these guys. That maybe we were looking for something that we haven’t found. I think that I might have found whatever I was looking for in Jesse. He’s strong and dependable and I really do love him.”
Liz bit her lip worriedly. Was Isabel right? Had she been looking for something with all of those boys. Was Max really what she wanted, or was she just deluding herself into thinking that she was in love with him. But he caused so many feelings inside of her. She wanted to be with him, and not just in a sexual way. She wanted to feel what it would be like to be wrapped in his arms. She wanted to go on dates with him. And she loved everything about him. His love for Steinbeck, even though Liz didn’t understand the appeal. Or his apparent love for the color green. “Do you think that I’m deluding myself? That I’m not really in love with him?” she asked her sister softly.
Isabel bit her lip nervously at Liz’s question. She didn’t know how to answer, because she did not know if Liz was really in love with him or not. “I don’t know. Do you think that you are in love with him? How do you feel when you think about him?” she asked, curious about her sister’s response.
Liz took in a deep breath as she tried to find the right words to express what she felt. She was in love with Max. There was no other explanation for how she felt towards him. “When I think about him, I feel so much. I mean, there’s a part of me that’s angry at him for what he said to me, but I feel so much love for him. I. . . I want to be a better person for him. With him.” she told Isabel, hoping that she was explaining it correctly.
But than a thought came to Liz. What if she was deluding herself? What if she only wanted Max because he hadn’t given her any time. Because he was a challenge. He was making her work for him. Liz felt her heart clench at her thoughts. She didn’t think that was true. She hoped not. She did feel strongly towards Max. And she was so sure that it was love. There was no other explanation for her feelings.
Isabel nodded her head at her sister. “It sounds that you do have strong feelings for him. But I don’t know. I’m not an expert or anything.”
Liz smiled at Isabel’s words. They both weren’t experts. They had never been in any sort of relationship. At least Liz didn’t think that Isabel had ever been. The only one that had sort of come close for Liz had been Doug Shellow. And that hadn’t been for very long. Five weeks. And it hadn’t even really been a relationship. It hadn’t been an involvement of feelings. All Doug had wanted was to sleep with her. And he got that. Listening to Isabel’s words, Liz thought that maybe she had been looking for something with all of these guys. But she had never found it. But with Max, Liz was thinking that maybe it was what she was looking for. Liz got off of the bed, and went into the closet, looking for something to wear.
Isabel watched her sister curiously. One minute they were talking and the next Liz was jumping off of her bed. “What are you doing, Liz?” she wondered.
Liz quickly pulled on a red nylon windbreaker over her striped sleeveless tee and a pair of flip flops. Liz walked out of her closet and gave her sister a strained smile. “I’m going to go to the store. I just. . . . need to do something to get my mind off of everything. Max. . . being in love. . . everything. I just need some time to myself.” she explained, knowing that she probably sounded like she was some sort of freak. But she just needed to get away from it all. Hell, maybe she should just go to their vacation house in Newport Beach, if she really needed to get away.
“If you want, I can go with you. I can go over to Jesse’s later.” Isabel said, not wanting her sister to be by herself right now. Liz was going through something major right now. Isabel honestly thought that maybe Liz was in love with Max, regardless of the time that they had not spent together.
Liz shook her head at her sister’s words. “No, go have fun. Go with Jesse. I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me.” she said, giving Isabel a quick smile. She just wanted to get her mind off of everything. She didn’t want to think about anything else tonight. Liz kissed Isabel on the cheek before heading out of the door. “I’ll be fine. Have fun.”
Isabel watched her sister head downstairs. She hoped that if Liz ever did tell Max about her true feelings that he would take it all pretty well. She just hoped that guy wouldn’t say or do anything to break her sister’s heart.

Lana Lane, I heard that you were sick. Get well soon.
NOTE: My email was being a total bitch, and would send my beta my emails blank, which contained this next chapter. So I just decided to post it anyway. So it’s unbetaed.
“I see the bad moon rising. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightin’. I see bad times today. Don’t go around tonight, well, it’s bound to take your life. There’s a bad moon on the rise.” Liz sang as she made her way through the grocery store. She needed to refill her birth control, not that it really mattered. She hadn’t had sex with anyone since Troy Perkins, which had been nearly two months ago.
Hmm, she was in a chocolate sort of mood. Maybe she should get some, Liz thought as she quickly made her detour to the cake aisle. Maybe she should make herself a chocolate cake, or buy some fudge. Something to drown her sorrows in.
Liz stopped suddenly as she saw the figure in the aisle. Max Evans was studying birthday cakes. For a moment, Liz didn’t know what to think. Was this supposed to be some kind of sign for her. A sign that maybe she should tell Max exactly how she felt about him. Liz didn’t know what to do. Should she go up to him or not?
Before Liz could decide what to do, she felt Max’s gaze on her, and she looked up and saw him watching her. An unreadable expression was on his face. Liz knew that this had to have been a sign. On the same day that she had finally told her sister that she was in love with Max, Liz runs into him at the store. Seemed like a sign to her. Liz took in a deep breath as she made her way across the aisle to where Max stood.
“Hi, Max.” Liz said softly, not knowing exactly what to say to him. She couldn’t very well start out with: I’m in love with you. He would definitely look at her like she was an idiot, or on drugs. But she wanted to tell him. She really wanted to tell him all about it. “What are you doing here?”
“Shopping. Are you following me?” Max asked, slightly bewildered.
Liz let out a laugh at his words. Had he noticed about her stalker tendencies already. She couldn’t blame him if he was a little freaked out. Since the night of the party, Liz had sort of kept herself away from him. Hell, she had kept herself away from pretty much everyone, with the exception of Isabel and Kyle. She had been lost in her own little world, but when she had been watching Max, sometimes he would catch her looking at him. And she hadn’t even cared that he would catch her. A part of her had wanted Max to come up to her and to tell her something. But he never had. All he had done was hold her eyes before looking away.
“No, I’m not following you. Monterey isn’t the biggest place. People run into each other all of the time, Max.” Liz said softly, after she had stopped laughing. She couldn’t help but feel a little hurt by his words. He really thought that she would be pathetic enough to follow him around. She had some class.
“Yeah, your right. I keep forgetting that Monterey isn’t at all like San Francisco.” Max replied, as he turned his attention back to the cake products, trying to find the best one.
“Oh, I didn’t know that was where you were from. Why did you move here?” Liz asked curiously, unable to help herself. She wanted to know so much more about him. And maybe this was the chance that she would get. Maybe it was the only chance that she would get. She had never really talked to him before.
Max kept his attention on the cake products before him. “It doesn’t matter why we moved to Monterey. I’m not planning on staying long. Just until school finishes.”
“Oh, really? Well, Monterey isn’t a horrible place to live. It’s nice and really cute. Have you ever been to the cliffs? It’s pretty close to my house. It’s a beautiful spot. So you know where your going for college?” Liz asked, hoping that he wouldn’t shoot her down. If he did, than she was determined to tell him how she felt about him. That she was in love with him. It wouldn’t kill her to tell him. And if he was a jerk, than he would be up there with Doug Shellow in the jerk wall of fame.
“I haven’t been any where much in this place. Don’t want to. I’m leaving at the end of school, than off to college. And will probably stay away from this place.” Max replied, as he scratched his ear.
“I don’t. I think that no matter what, I’ll always come back here.” Liz said, looking at the Betty Crocker fudge cake. Now that looked good, she thought to herself. Monterey was home no matter wherever she went in her life. It was the place that she had been born, the place that she had been raised. This was where Aunt Martha was, where her parents were buried. It was where Isabel was. It was the place that she would one day raise her own children. But she wasn’t planning on having any kids any time soon.
“Why? There’s nothing here?” Max asked, a little confused.
Liz shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t want to get into all of it with Max. Why she would always come back here. It didn’t seem that he would understand what she was talking about. Liz knew that he didn’t have any siblings, so he wouldn’t understand her connection with Isabel. “Max, there’s something that I want to tell you.”
“What?” Max asked, turning to look at her.
Liz took in a deep breath as she struggled with what she was about to tell him. She was going to tell him that she was in love with him. She hoped that he wouldn’t freak out or anything. But she couldn’t keep it a secret any longer. She wanted him to know. She wanted to be able to shout it out to the whole world. Liz Markham was in love with Max Evans. And jeez, could she have picked a better place? She was going to tell him at the grocery store. Boy, wouldn’t that be something to talk about.
“Max, I’m in love with you.” Liz finally said, looking him straight in the eye, trying to gauge his response. But the look on his face didn’t change, it was emotionless. With maybe a hint of confusion, she thought to herself, as she continued watching him. Not that she blamed him or anything. She had just told him that she was in love with him, he was probably ready to run from the hills. Slutty Liz in love with him.
“No, you’re not.” Max finally said.
Liz resisted the urge to laugh at his words. Of course, he thought that she was making it all up. Hell, if she was in his shoes, she would think the same thing. She had thought about it herself, thought that maybe she just thought that she was in love with him because of the challenge that he was. That he didn’t give her any time at all. But that wasn’t it. She was so sure of that. She did love him.
“Oh, so you know how I feel and what not? I do, Max. I don’t know how the hell it happened, but it did. I do love you. I know that I barely know you, but does that mean that I don’t love you? Shit, I must sound like I’m psychotic or something.” Liz said, letting out a small laugh at her own words, while Max continued to look at her with disbelief in his face. She would have to convince him somehow that she was telling the truth.
“Look, your probably just saying this because your trying to get me into bed. You see me as a challenge that doesn’t jump when you say how high. And granted, I am a bit flattered, but your really not in love with me. You don’t know me, you don’t know anything about me at all. Look, this isn’t going to work. Saying that you love me, isn’t a way to get me to tumble into bed with you.” Max said, shaking his head at her.
Liz let out a sigh. She knew that this wasn’t going to be easy, but she wanted to convince him that she was sure of her feelings. Because she was. She did love Max. “Max, I know that Troy has told you all about the things that I have done. And yes, just about all of it should be true. But that doesn’t have a single thing to do with how I feel about you. Those are two separate things. I do love you. I’m not saying it to get you into bed. I’m really not.”
“I’m sorry, I just don’t believe you. I don’t think that anyone can fall in love with someone that they know nothing about. You don’t know me and I don’t know you. Therefore, you can’t love me.” Max said, a little bit harsher.
Liz wanted to let out a yell of frustration, but she bit down on her tongue, stopping it. He really didn’t believe her. He probably thought that someone like her, someone who had slept around with so many boys didn’t know what love was. Or maybe he just didn’t want to believe what she had to say because of whatever Troy had told him. And Liz knew that he had said something about her. Kyle had told her so himself. Said that he heard some crap going on in the locker room. Or maybe Max thought that she and Kyle were together. They had been seen around campus a lot, even though they were nothing but friends. Maybe that’s what Max thought.
“Why do you think that I can’t love you, because I don’t know you? I do, Max. I’m sure about my feelings. What do you think that someone like me doesn’t know how to love anyone? That all I know how to do is fuck guys? That there’s nothing else that I know how to do. Well, your mistaken. I do know how to love someone. I’m in love with you.” Liz told him again, and when she saw his face was still a mixture of shock and disbelief, she threw herself into his arms, pressing her lips against his own.
Liz could tell that she had shocked Max by her actions but she didn’t care. She wanted to show him that she was sure about her feelings, that it all wasn’t a ploy in order to get him into bed. That it had to do with much more than that. That it had to do with love. Liz reached up and pulled Max’s mouth more firmly against her own.
Liz ran her hands throw Max’s dark hair, relishing in the feel of him against her. It felt so good for him to be in her arms, it felt so right. It felt like the most natural thing in the world, and she didn’t want to ever let him go. All she wanted to feel was his arms wrapped around her body. Just being in his arms was enough for her. It felt like she was supposed to be with him. It felt like they belonged to each other. It was something that Liz had never felt before.
Liz let out a moan when she felt Max’s arms roam her body. One hand was drifting up her waist, up to her ribcage and cupped her breast through the fabric of her shirt. She gasped when she felt his thumb brushing her nipple.
“Excuse me. Don’t you two realize that you are in a store. Go get a room.” A loud voice demanded, breaking the young couple apart.
Liz flushed as she realized that the older woman was right. They were out in public and they were practically making out with each other. That wasn’t right. But it had felt so good that she couldn’t feel badly about it. Liz turned her attention away from the older woman and turned to look at Max. “I do love you, Max. I really do. Nothing that anyone can do will ever change my mind about that. Look, Max, we’re here in a public place, it’s really not the right place to get into all of this. Max, will you just please come with me. And we can talk about this somewhere else. Please.” she asked softly.
Getting into this at the store wasn’t the right place and she wanted to be able to talk to him about this all in a private place. Liz could tell that Max was having a mental debate with himself about coming with her or not. And Liz couldn’t really blame him. He probably thought that she was going to jump on him or something the moment they were out of people’s sight.
“Shit, Max. It’s not like I’m asking for your first born.” Liz said sarcastically, getting a little impatient by his silence. She didn’t know what she would do if he said no. If he said that he didn’t want to have anything to do with her. It would hurt like hell, but she knew that she would get him to see things her way. At least she was hoping so.
“Alright. Fine. We’ll go somewhere.”

Wench On A Leash, chinablueeyes, BelevnDreamsToo, dreamerforever88, You will NOT find out a single thing about what is going on in Max’s head in this story. I don’t want anyone to know, and so I’m keeping him a mystery. But you will find out what he was thinking in the sequel. I promise that.
Lana Lane, Continue getting well. And no jumping! I’m afraid that you might want to cover your eyes a little with this chapter.
honeybear, Thanks for the nice words. And the feedback, it means a lot to me.
Allie1031, Yippee, Allie’s reading my story. Okay, I’m happy. Max and Liz will be alone, but might not get to talking.
NOTE: I'm not sure about this chapter, so please send me some love.
“I thought we were going to talk.” Liz sighed, as Max trailed kisses down the column of her neck. He had followed her home in his car, and she had really expected for them to talk, but Max was definitely leading her to believe otherwise. She hadn’t wanted to talk to him downstairs, not when Aunt Martha or Chelsea could hear them, so she had told him to follow her upstairs. And now they were in her room.
“Screw talking.” Max replied, as he ran his fingers through her long dark hair as he moved her to sit on her bed, attaching his mouth to her neck again.
Liz took in a sharp breath at his actions. She hadn’t really been expecting this. But who was she to tell him to stop? She wanted him so badly. She wanted to know what it was like to make love to Max Evans. To make love to someone who she loved. Liz wrapped her arms around his neck, forcing him to up, so she could kiss him.
Max kissed her, a long, slow, deep kiss that had Liz’s entire body vibrating in pleasure. Eager to get more of him, she pulled him closer. Max eased away from her. “Relax. We have all the time in the world.” he told her, as he began trailing nibbling kisses along her jaw line and down her throat.
Liz pushed him away slightly from her, as she took off her jacket. And Liz was about to yank her top over her head also, when she felt Max’s hands on her own. “What?”
“Slowly. No rush.” Max told her, as he rained light kisses over her face, along her neck.
Liz slowly began raising her t-shirt, one inch at a time, before finally throwing it over her head slowly, and smiling devilishly at him. It was his turn, she thought to herself. Here she was half naked and he was still dressed. So not fair. Liz put her hand against the hem of his t-shirt and gave it a tug. “I think it’s your turn.”
Max tugged his t-shirt over his head, not caring where it landed. Liz took in a deep breath as she looked at his bare chest. His chest was magnificent. His chest was golden and muscled. Liz had to admit to herself that it was one of the best that she had ever seen. Liz grabbed Max’s hand and put it to the button of her shorts, wanting him to take them off already.
Max’s fingers hastily unbuttoned Liz’s shorts, and pulled the shorts down her legs. Liz’s head fell back against the bed as she felt Max’s lips against the inside of her thigh. She couldn’t help but run her hands through his hair, trying to make him get closer to where she needed him the most. “Max.” she sighed.
Max lifted his head and moved up to the valley of her breasts and took her right nipple into his mouth first. Liz moaned softly as he began to suckle her breast. She wanted Max so badly that she would be so happy to just skip the foreplay. She had thought about this moment for so long, and she only wanted him inside of her. “Max, make love to me already. Please.” she said softly, knowing that she was begging, but she didn’t care. All she wanted was to feel him inside of her.
When Max didn’t say anything, she reached down and grabbed his rock hard shaft and gave it a squeeze. “Max Evans, if you don’t make love to me now, I’m going to explode.” she said, as she grasped his firm buttocks and gave them a squeeze.
Max quickly took off his jeans and socks, joining the pile of clothing beginning to form. Liz took his hand and put it on top of her underwear, wanting him to take them off for her as her own hands went to his boxers. While Max slowly inched her underwear from her, she slipped her hands inside his boxers, giving his buttocks another squeeze, before lowering them down. Finally, they both had gotten the others under garments off and Liz took in a deep breath as there bodies pressed against each other. She could feel his erection against her leg and couldn’t wait until he was inside of her.
Max kissed her deeply, their tongues entwined as he entered her in one motion, filling her completely. They broke out of the kiss as they both groaned, enjoying the feeling of being joined. When Max began to slowly withdrew from her, only to enter with again with more force, Liz pressed her lips against Max’s, their lips and tongues mating.
Max was driving Liz insane with his controlled motions, thrusting in and out, harder each time. But it felt so good. So wonderful. And Liz never wanted it to end. Liz was writhing, her head rolling back and forth in the ecstasy in all of it as his strokes became more forceful.
Max broke off the kiss with Liz, struggling to regain his breathe and dragged his lips down to her breasts again, suckling them in the same rhythm as the movement of his hips. Liz dug her nails into Max’s back as he raised his mouth from her breasts and planted his lips on hers as his rhythm faltered, his strokes becoming uneven. The change sent Liz over the edge and she cried out into Max’s open mouth. Her own cry meet with Max’s groan as he climaxed.
The two of them were still for several moments, as they both struggled to gain the ability to breath back. Their bodies were melded together, with Max still inside her. Liz was on cloud nine. So that was what it was like to make love to someone that she was in love with. It had felt better than anything else. It had made her feel perfect, and complete.
Liz gave a small growl of displeasure as Max moved out of her. Liz stayed at his side, not wanting to move away from him. She was so satiated, so complete, so full. She just wanted to stay like this forever.
Liz woke up with a start at the sound as the rain began pouring down outside. Liz shook her head as she settled down back in the bed. She hated the rain. It had been raining the night that her parents had died. As Liz burrowed under the covers, she realized that something was missing. Max wasn’t there.
Frowning, Liz reached over the side of the bed to the night stand and turned on the lamp. The clock on her night stand said that it was 7:30. Damn, she had slept the entire night away. It had been sometime after nine that she and Max had come to her house. Speaking of which, where was Max?
Liz jumped out of the bed, and frowned as she saw that his clothes, which had been thrown around the room were no longer there. Maybe he had went downstairs to get something to drink, or maybe he was in the bathroom, she told herself. But Max wouldn’t have left. She was sure about that. He wouldn’t have left after what happened last night.
Liz went into her closet and pulled out her red robe. Once it was tied, she left her room quickly, wanting to find Max. She didn’t like the idea of him roaming around her house like this. She didn’t want him to bug Aunt Martha or Chelsea or anything. Usually when she or Isabel had brought their stud of the moment around, they had gone to the tack room, which they had turned into an apartment of sorts. But last night had been different for her. She had literally been the only person to ever sleep in her bed. But now that had changed. She and Max had made love in her bed, that was something big in itself.
Liz quickly looked throughout the house and didn’t find any sign of Max. He wasn’t in the bathroom, any freaking bathroom and he wasn’t in the kitchen. Her heart was telling her that he wasn’t even in the house, but she didn’t want to believe that. She didn’t want to believe that he had just left like that.
Liz threw open the front door and saw that his car wasn’t out there. She took in a sharp breath as the realization came over her. Max had indeed left. He had left her after sleeping with her. It hurt. Hurt so much that he would simply leave her like that. Sleep with her and than just leave. Leave like she wasn’t anything.
NO! Max had to have some sort of reason for doing that. She was sure about it. Max had to have a reason for leaving her the way that he had. He wouldn’t have done something so cruel like leave her that way. Max wasn’t anything at all like Doug Shellow. Doug had done that to her years ago. The night that Doug had taken her virginity, he had left her soon after. She could still remember waking up alone, finding blood on the sheets.
Max wasn’t like that though. Max wasn’t as horrible as Doug had been to her. She knew that he must have left for a good reason. That had to be the only reason. Maybe something had happened to his family. Maybe his mother had called him. Oh God. Did he even have a cell phone? Yes, he had to. Or maybe he had called his mother and found out that something bad had happened. Maybe Max was going to call her.
Or maybe Max had some sort of accident and maybe that’s why she hadn’t called her. She should just call Max. That was it. She just needed to go upstairs, into her room and call Max. Find out what happened. That was the only thing for her to do. She knew it.
Ten minutes later, Liz was dressed and chewing on her lip nervously as she dialed Max’s number. The number that she had scored from some student aide person when Max had first dismissed her. Liz hadn’t planned on using it to call him or anything than, but now she just had to. She had to find out what happened. Why he had just left the way that he had. She wanted to know what the fuck was going on. She wanted to know why he had left. If something had happened or what.
“Uh, hi. I’m trying to get in touch with Max. Is he home?” Liz asked softly, realizing that she should have waited until later on. No one wanted to be woken up at eight in the morning. But it was so important. She needed to find out what was going on. She just had to.
“Oh, I. . . Max is busy at the moment. Can you call him back sometime later?” The older woman said softly.
“Oh, um. Can you tell him that Liz called. I. . . um. . . guess I’ll call him back.” Liz said softly, hurt stabbing her in the heart. Max was there, but he was busy. That seemed like a crock of shit. What if he didn’t want to talk to her? Was that it. Did he not want to talk to her at all, she wondered.
“Yes, of course. Bye.” The woman said, hanging up the phone.
Liz stared at the phone in her hand, trying to figure out what was going on. She could have sworn that she had heard Max in the background. It hurt. It hurt a lot to think that he didn’t want to talk to her. Well, she was going to go over there and give him a piece of her mind. She was going to confront him about what he had done. Yes, yes, yes, and she knew that he had to have a good reason for what he’d done. He’d have to.

I was going to post the next chapter tonight. But the board is giving me some problems, so I probably won't. If it's okay while I'm still awake, I'll post. If not, I'll post the chapter tomorrow after work.

Speak to me
I want to feel you
I need to hear you
Liz took in another deep breath as she drove her car down the street. She hated the fucking rain. It was a bitch to drive in, and it would always remind her of her parents death. Shut up, Liz. Shut up, she told herself. She was going to go to Max’s, she was going to see why he had left the way that he did. It hadn’t sounded like there had been some kind of emergency at his place, so she was utterly clueless. And she needed answers.
Liz took in a deep breath as she slowly made her way down Sycamore Street, where Max lived. They were nice houses, tall Victorians’ spread out from each other. It looked like there was maybe just about four houses on one side of the block, another four on the other side. They were really nice, she thought as she pulled into the driveway of a yellow Victorian house. This was it. This was Max’s house. Get a hold of yourself, Liz Markham. Stop acting like such a nervous freak, she commanded herself.
You are the light
That's leading me
To the place
Where I find peace again
Liz slowly emerged from her car, trying desperately to keep a blank expression on her face. She really didn’t know why she was so nervous, she was just going to see Max. She was just going to talk to him about why he had left. About why he hadn’t wanted to talk to her on the phone and hopefully the tears that were threatening to come down wouldn’t fall when she was talking to him.
Liz paused in the rain, as she watched Max put a couple of sleeping bags into his car. She knew that it was his car, because she’d seen him drive off in it before. What was she going to say to him? Maybe he was just scared to think that she was really in love with him, and that was something that scared her too. She was in love and she had never expected herself to be. But she was in love with him and she would have to try to convince him that she was.
You are the strength
That keeps me walking
You are the hope
That keeps me trusting
“What are you doing here?” Max called out, when he saw her come up the driveway, her tank top starting to stick to her skin from the rain.
Liz took in a deep breath as she continued her ascent to him. Maybe he thought that she had just said that she loved him in order to get him into bed, maybe that was why he had left. But she would have to tell him that she truly honestly loved him. “I came to see you. Why did you leave without saying anything?”
You are the life
To my soul
You are my purpose
You are everything
“I honestly didn’t think that it would matter to you.” Max said, turning his back to her, as he went back into the open garage.
Liz bit down fiercely on her lip at his words. He didn’t think that it would have mattered to her? It did! She had wanted to find out what it was like to sleep in the arms of someone that she loved, to be there with them all night. She’d never experienced that before, and it was something that she had wanted to experience with Max. “Of course, it mattered to me, Max. You don’t know what I was thinking this morning. I was thinking that something had to have happened to one of your parents or something.”
And how can I
Stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this
“Well, nothing is wrong with my parents. Now, if you don’t mind, I’m trying to do something, and you’re getting in my way.” Max informed her, as he grabbed the ice cooler and set it on the floor.
Liz felt tears come to her eyes and she desperately blinked them back, not wanting for them to fall. She didn’t know why he was being this way. Why he was just blowing her off. They had made love last night and he was treating her as if she was some common whore who’s feelings didn’t matter. “I’m sorry that I’m getting in your way, Max. But I need to know what’s going on. What’s wrong? What did I do that was wrong?”
You calm the storms
You give me rest
You hold me in your hands
You won't let me fall
“I’d rather not do this right now, Liz. I’m trying to pack my car for my damn camping trip.” Max told her, still not looking at her.
“You don’t believe me that I’m in love with you, do you? You think because we made love that I got what I want! That I got the boy that was the challenge and now that it’s all over. It’s not, Max. It’s not over. Because I really do love you. It wasn’t something that I was expecting, but I wasn’t lying to you, when I told you. And maybe we shouldn’t have made love but it happened. It doesn’t change that I love you.” Liz told him, willing to give anything to make him look at her. To see that she was telling him the truth. But he wasn’t looking at her. He was just continuing to grab things from the garage and set them upon the floor. He wasn’t even glancing at her, and it devastated her.
You still my heart
And you take my breath away
Would you take me in
Would you take me deeper now
When Max didn’t answer her, tears began falling from her eyes. Why wouldn’t he believe her? Did he really think that she was lying to him? At first, it might have been the thrill of the chase, but it had changed. It had changed for her. She wanted to know Max. She wanted to know everything that there was to know about Max Evans. She wanted to be able to show him the real Liz Markham. “Answer me, Max.”
But he didn’t. As Liz watched him with devastated eyes, she saw that he stopped grabbing things and was staring straight ahead at the wall. He still wasn’t answering her. All she wanted was for him to talk to her. To tell her what was wrong. Why he didn’t believe her? Why he wasn’t willing to believe her? Was it because of something that Troy had said or was it because of her wonderful track record? “Answer me, Max!”
And how can I
Stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this
“Why the hell are you making such a big deal about this, Liz? You know what it was all about. You know that it was only a fling. You know that. You’ve had many yourself. Why would I be something different?” Max finally said, still not turning to look at her.
Liz felt her heart shatter at his words. He thought that it was a fling? NO!!! It wasn’t. She was so sure of it. It wasn’t a fling for her. For once Liz Markham was ready to plunge head first into a real relationship; to be able to give herself to someone. And she wanted that someone to be Max. Max was the only person that she wanted to give herself to. “No! It’s not a fling for me, Max. I know that I’ve had many of them before, but they were all so empty and didn’t mean anything to me. But this time it’s different, Max. I don’t want for it to be a fling. I love you, and I want to be with you. I’ve never wanted that before, Max. Haven’t you seen that I’m a changed person? I’m not the same person that I was before. Please, Max, just look at me.”
And how can I
Stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this
“You can’t love me, Liz. You don’t know me. You don’t know the first thing about me. You don’t know anything about me. Frankly, I don’t think that you would even know the first thing about love. You know what everyone says about you and Isabel, they say, ‘Oh, there goes the Man Eaters’, and their right. Because that’s what the two of you are. I’m sure that your going to be through your third husband by the time that your thirty years old.” Max said coldly, staring at the wall, still not looking at Liz.
Liz took in a harsh breath at his words. She knew that this had to be Troy’s influence. There was no other explanation for it all. He was so wrong, and he would figure that out. He was just scared that she wasn’t anything like what people said about her. He probably thought that it was easier to go along thinking what they thought. But none of it was true. She did know how to love. She loved her sister, she’d loved her parents, and she loved her Aunt Martha. “You don’t believe any of that. I know that you don’t. What are you scared about what people would think if you were involved with me? Man Eater Liz. I know that you don’t believe any of that, because if you did than you wouldn’t be looking at that wall. You would be telling me that to my face. I know that you don’t believe any of it, Max.”
Cause you're all I want
You are all I need
You are everything
You are all I want
You are all I need
You are everything
Max turned around swiftly to face her. “How many times do I have to tell you, Liz? That it was just a fucking fling. I slept with you. Screwed you. Fucked you. But we didn’t make love. You don’t know how to love anyone. You’re just a self centered person. That’s all that you are. Don’t you realize that I don’t care about you? That I don’t care what the fuck happens to you?” he told her coming closer to her.
Liz shook her head fiercely, not wanting to believe a single word that he told her. She knew that it wasn’t true. That they weren’t his words. They couldn’t be. They weren’t. They had to be Troy’s or some other jerk that she’d screwed around with. “Why are you so determined to lie to me, Max? I know that it’s not true. I know that you’re lying to me. I’m not a self centered person, I do care about people. I care about my sister, I cared about my parents. I can care for people. You’re just scared. I know that you are. Why are you allowing for everyone else to decide what you want?”
You are all I want
You are all I need
You are everything
Liz hoped that her words would make an impact on him. That he would realize that they shouldn’t care about what everyone else thought. Troy and the others didn’t have anything to do with her and Max. Those were two completely different issues, why couldn’t Max realize that? Didn’t he know that he was breaking her heart, that her heart was shattering in a million pieces at every single word that he told her.
Max let out a growl of frustration as he stormed back into the garage and grabbed the last of his camping things. “You are just so intent on making this so much harder. Who would have thought? I’ve heard that you’ve given every other guy the brush off, but here you’re getting one and you don’t even want to leave me alone. I don’t know how many times that I have to say it, Liz. But last night was nothing. It meant nothing to me. I screwed you, just like you screwed everyone else. You really don’t realize that I gave you exactly what you have given countless of others at school. Is it connecting to your head now, Liz? What exactly last night was all about?” Max told her coldly, as he shoved his things into the trunk of his car.
You are all I want
You are all I need
You are everything
Liz swallowed hard trying to get that lump out of her throat. No! Max hadn’t done that. He hadn’t done that to her. She didn’t want to believe it. She couldn’t believe that he would do that to her on purpose. That he would sleep with her and just throw her aside. That it had only been a fling. That he never really cared about her. That he’d only done it to get back at her for what she had done to others. The one person that she loved couldn’t have done that to her. Liz moved away from the protection of the garage and stared at him in disbelief through her tearful eyes as the rain fell down on her. “Was that all it was, Max? You were getting me back for what I had done to others?”
“Brownie points for you, Liz. You finally figured it out. It didn’t mean anything to me. It never did. You really think that I would have wanted to get involved with one of the school sluts? No, I gave you exactly what you gave to others. That’s all that last night was about. That’s all that it ever was. There was no love involved. None whatsoever, Liz. I don’t want to have anything to do with you. Just leave me alone, Liz.” Max told her coldly, as he slammed down the trunk and moved around to the driver’s door.
And how can I
Stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this
Liz watched him in disbelief as he entered his car and took off down the street. He didn’t care about her at all. She had told him that she loved him, she’d opened herself for him, for the first time to anyone other than her sister, and he didn’t care. He didn’t want anything to do with her. He never had. He had only used her. For what purpose? So that all the boys that she’d slept with could laugh about it in the locker room. She could hear it in her head now, ‘Liz told me that she loved me, and I told her that I fucked her, and she meant nothing to me.’
Liz turned to the garage when she heard a noise and to her humiliation, a blonde woman in her mid thirties was standing there. Liz sighed harshly as she realized that was probably Max’s mother. Just what she needed for Max’s mother to see her humiliation. She needed to get home. She had to get away from this place, Liz thought before scrambling away from Max’s house. She never wanted to come back here again. She never wanted to see this place again.
And how can I
Stand here with you
And not be moved by you
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this
Would you tell me
How could it be
Any better than this

Guys, I know right now a lot of people are hating Max and wondering what the hell he was thinking. I AM a Dreamer. So they will get together. But after what he has done to her, Max will have to work extra hard to get Liz to trust him. I so plan in the sequel to make Max work hard to gain Liz's trust. I know things seem kind of bad right now, but give me some time.

Wench On A Leash, The sequel won’t be a based on Max’s thoughts. Though you will find out exactly what Max was thinking when he got involved with Liz. I can’t say much about it, but it’s not like this one with only Max’s thoughts. *Though I have to admit that sounds very interesting. Hmm, my brain is liking that idea.*
Eccentric One, Liz won’t go to her old ways. Yes, you’ll have to wait for the sequel for things to get much better.
chinablueeyes, Yes, Michael and Maria are going to be in the sequel. Not too sure about how big of a part they will have. But they will be in it.
Good eye, Strawbehrry Shortcake, mermaidgirl. I think you two were the only ones to bring that up.
Liz didn’t remember much about the drive home. She was completely numb. She just. . . . didn’t know what the hell she was supposed to think or to do. It was only once she was inside her room, that she allowed herself to cry.
She couldn’t stop the sobs that came. It hurt so much. It hurt so much what he had done to her. He had just. . . used her. Used her the way that she had used the other boys. Was that her payback for what she had done? The one person that she had ever care for, loved had used her. Had slept with her and just threw her aside. Like she wasn’t anything important.
“Liz, what’s wrong?” Isabel asked, as she came into her sister’s room. She had heard the sobs from all the way in her room. She hadn’t heard her sister cry that way since their parents had died. Oh God. What had happened. Had something happened to Aunt Martha? Had Aunt Martha died? Isabel rushed to her sister’s side. “What happened?”
“I. . . . he. . . .” Liz struggled to tell her sister, but her sobs got in the way of it. It hurt so badly. It was like nothing that she had ever felt before. It hurt so much. Maybe more than when her parents had died. Oh God. She wanted it to stop. She wanted the pain to stop.
“What did he do to you? What did Max Evans do?” Isabel asked worriedly, her mind jumping to several scenarios. What if Max had raped Liz? That was one that wouldn’t leave her alone. What else could he have done to Liz? To make her sob so uncontrollably, with so much pain and anguish.
“He. . . . he. . . . said that he didn’t care about me at all. That he had gave me exactly the same thing that I gave the other boys. He doesn’t care about me, Isabel. I told him that I loved him. . . . . and he. . . told me that I didn’t know what love was. That I probably never would. I. . . I love him, but he doesn’t love me. He doesn’t. . . doesn’t even care about me.” Liz finally managed to say, the pain stabbing her in the heart over and over again as she recalled Max’s words. They had been so horrible, everything that he had said to her. And she was afraid, so afraid that he was right. That she didn’t really know how to love anyone, and that she never would.
Isabel took in a sharp breath at her sister’s words. God damn that asshole. He had no right at all to say those things to Liz. To her little sister. Isabel wanted to go over there and kick the shit out of him. He had used her baby sister. He had used Liz and just thrown her to the side, and said all this bad shit about her. Max Evans was no better than Doug Shellow had been. Both of them deserved a special place in hell for what they had done to Liz. “That son of a bitch. I’m going to kill him. He had no right at all to say that to you, Liz. I love you so much, little sister. You are the best person that I have ever known. Max Evans doesn’t know anything at all about you. He doesn’t know a single thing. He doesn’t know how you sit at Aunties side. He doesn’t know anything.”
“Maybe. . . he’s right.” Liz said, unable to stop her crying. She hurt so badly. So badly. All she wanted was for the pain to stop. She would give anything for it to stop hurting. Anything at all.
“Hey, Lizzie. Are you ready to go?” Isabel asked coming up beside her sister. She hated seeing what Liz was going through. That damn Max Evans had broken Liz’s heart into pieces. It had taken all of Isabel’s self control not to beat him senseless.
Liz broke out of her memories of what happened with Max, and gave her sister a wide smile. “Yeah, are you all ready? I mean, you’re the one that’s going to be getting married.” Liz was happy for Isabel. Isabel really loved Jesse and it seemed like he loved her too. But still Liz was afraid that she was going to lose her sister. The three of them were going to Las Vegas, where Isabel would become Mrs. Jesse Ramirez.
“Yeah. I’m ready. I’m scared about it all, but I’m so happy. I love him so much.” Isabel said softly, not wanting Liz to get upset about this talk of love. Liz had opened herself up to Max and he had completely obliterated it. “Come on.”
“Your going to have to help me up. I’m fat.” Liz replied, grinning at her sister as she held her hand up.
Isabel grabbed Liz’s hand and helped her up to her feet. “You’re not fat, Liz. You’re pregnant. Pregnancy does not mean that your fat.”
“What the hell are you talking about? I’ve gained nearly ten pounds already and I’m only three months along. I swear, she’s going to be big.” Liz laughed as she brushed off her pants. Liz adored being pregnant. She loved the idea that she was going to have a baby. Max’s baby. She was in love with her own baby. That was something that Max had given her. He had made her fall in love for the first time. And he had left her with something so wonderful. A child. A baby that she couldn’t wait for.
“She? You think that your going to have a girl?” Isabel asked, in awe of her sister. It was amazing to see how happy Liz was with having a baby. Liz didn’t care that Max wasn’t around, her sister was ecstatic about having a baby, not caring that her child wouldn’t have a father around. Isabel knew that she wouldn’t be able to handle that if she was in Liz’s shoes.
Liz’s smile widened. “It’s just a feeling. I really do think that I’m going to have a girl. Not that it really matters. As long as the baby is healthy, I’ll be happy. But I already have some names picked out. If it’s a girl, Natalie Isabel, after Mom and you. And if it’s a boy, Jonathon Kyle, after Daddy and Kyle. Great names don’t you think?”
“Beautiful names. So you’re not going to tell Max anything about the baby?” Isabel questioned. Liz had said that she wasn’t going to tell Max anything about the baby. But she couldn’t help but wonder. She knew that Liz still loved him and that maybe the three of them could be a family. She only wanted her sister to be happy, and even though he had hurt her sister, Isabel thought that maybe Max could make Liz happy again.
Liz felt tears come to her eyes and she blinked them away. She didn’t want to talk about Max Evans. He wasn’t anything to her anymore. He didn’t have a single thing to do with her life. “Max Evans is not going to have a single thing to do with me or my babies life. When he threw me aside, he also threw her aside. He’s never ever going to see her. Never.”
Don't worry there will be a sequel. I am in the process of finishing the first chapter. The sequel will be called Love The Second Time Around. And Liz and Kyle are still friends, even though I didn't show it.

You guys want a sneak peak???
Well, okay. But only a little bit of it.
“Yes of course. Someone has to drive home after all.” Isabel Markham Ramirez said with a bright, fake smile; that she knew wasn’t fooling Liz for a single moment. “Oh, I hate to be a downer, but Jesse called the other night. He says that he wants to talk about Pretenses.”
“What the hell would that bastard need to talk about Pretenses for? That’s ours. He doesn’t have a fucking thing to do with it. I’ll have Brody get on it, right away.” Liz growled as she thought about Isabel’s ex husband. That asshole was trying to get his hands on everything that was Isabel’s even after the divorce. He obviously hadn’t been satisfied with that ten million that he had gotten.
“He’s just trying to make things difficult, Liz. He knows that he doesn’t have any legal claim to Pretenses or Chancellor’s. He’s just wanting to make me wonder and worry about it all.” Isabel said softly, as she downed her sixth glass of champagne, regretting that she had brought it all up. But she knew that Liz needed to know. Isabel had been so sure that Jesse Ramirez was the love of her life, that they would grow old together, but that had been before she’d realized the truth about Jesse. He wasn’t the person that she thought he was. She had the scars to show it.
Okay, that's all you guys are getting until I post the chapter.

I'm going to try to post the first chapter tonight. And I'll probably post it on another thread. I've got like three minutes before I'm supposed to leave for work. So I can't post now. But I'll tell everyone again, who is hating Max at the moment, there are alot of things that no one knows about him. Why he was such a jackass and all. And he will try his hardest to make it up to Liz. But it won't be so easy with her. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone.
