Part 1

Liz Parker sat outside on her balcony looking at the stars. Why can’t everything be as peaceful as this, she thought. Alex died a couple of weeks and she was still trying to figure out who murdered him. Max was pissed at her....well, basically everyone she knew was pissed at her for saying that it was an alien who killed him. If I could only find a way to prove to them.
“Liz!” Someone called her from below. It didn’t sound like Max’s voice so she cautiously walked over to the edge. She looked down and saw a man not far from her age. He had black hair with streaks of red. His eyes were dark brown, almost black, and they were mean and piercing. They didn’t look right next to his soft facial features. Liz stood there for a minute before she asked, “Who are you? What do you want?” Without answering he started to climb up the ladder. Liz backed away and started towards the window. “What do you want?” she repeated.
“Hello Liz,” he said. His voice was thick and raspy. He stepped closer and held out his hand. His fingers graced Liz’s cheek and she stepped back.
“Tell me want you want or I’ll...”Liz started.
“You’ll what, Liz, huh. Will you scream your lungs off until till someone comes help you? It would be to late by the time they got here. We would already be gone.”
“ What the are you talkin....”Liz started.
“ What the hell is going on here? Who the hell are you?” Liz peered over the man’s shoulder and saw Max standing behind him.
“ Max, what a surprise. I was just up here talking with my new friend Liz. We were getting along just fine until you showed up. But hey, it’s like that famous earth saying, the more the merrier.”
“ Liz, what’s going on here.” Max looked at Liz. Liz was speechless, she knew who he was. The way he looked at Max with such hatred. The way he said that earth saying. He’s Khivar. He’s here, on Earth, and he’s come to kill Max. but why is he here. And why did he say he was taking me somewhere. Liz looked at Max. Max was staring at Khivar. He’s figuring it out, Liz thought. Max suddenly got this look of realization on his face but it was soon replaced with hatred.
“So, you’ve figured me out. I’m back Max. But I’m not here to kill you. Not yet. I’m here for your pretty little girlfriend.”
“Don’t you hurt her.” Khivar grabbed Liz and stood her in front of him while he held her hands behind her back. Tears were silently falling from Liz’s face. “ What do you want her for.”
“ Well, I can’t tell you my whole plan, but I can tell you that it does involve me taking her back to Antar with me. But now that you’re here it’s not going to be as easy as I thought. Or is it.” Khivar held out his hand and energy burst from his palm. Liz looked up and saw Max fly through the air and into a brick wall.
“ No!” Liz cried her voice suddenly found. “ No! Stop it! Let go of me! Get the fuck off of me!”
“Now, now, stop screaming. You wouldn’t want your parents to wake up and come and see all of this.” Khivar started walking towards the ladder taking Liz, who was struggling against him, along with him.
Max slowly opened his eyes and looked up. He saw Khivar taking Liz down the ladder. “Liz,” he said weakly.
“Max! Max! Help me! Max!” Liz screamed and tried to hit Khivar. Max looked up at her and tried to stand up. He reached a sitting position before everything started spinning. Max collapsed on the ground and blacked out. The last thing he remembered hearing was Liz helplessly screaming his name.

Part 2

Max’s eyes fluttered open and he slowly tried to sit up. Pain whirled in his head and back and when he brought his hand to his head it came back with on it. What happened? And, why am I on Liz’s balcony? Max closed his eyes as remembered bits and pieces of what happened the night before. Him going to talk to Liz, him seeing Khivar holding her, him being thrown up against the wall he was now leaning on, and him hearing Liz call his name for help just as he started blacking out. “Oh, God,” he muttered to himself. “Khivar has Liz.”
Max stood up despite the pain and carefully climbed down the ladder. He had to get Liz. He had to help her. But the problem was, was that he couldn’t remember exactly where Khivar said he was taking Liz. Max walked along thinking, not really sure of where his feet were taking him, but when he looked up he saw himself in front of Maria’s house. It was about 5:00 am so Maria wasn’t at work or school. Not caring who he woke up, Max went to Maria’s window and knocked softly. When no one answered after a couple of minutes Max knocked again, this time louder. He heard shuffling inside and saw the curtains open to show that a very angry Maria was standing behind the window.
* * *
Maria opened the curtain to see who had woken her up at 5:00 a’ clock in the morning on a Saturday. When she saw it was Max she became very upset. Why doesn’t he just go to Tess the bitch with all of his problems. Unless e and Tess broke up. Nah, too good to be true. Maria just stood there until she noticed that Max had a big gash on his head and that blood was trickling down the side of his face. She quickly opened her window and watched him climb inside.
“What happened?” Maria asked, concern written all over her face.
“ Khivar’s here. Or he was here. At Liz’s house.”
“What! How did he....why is he....wait....did you say he was at Liz’s house. Why would he go there?” Maria asked surprisingly. Max sat on the bed while she went to the bathroom to get a towel. She handed it to Max and waited for him to tell the whole story.
“ I went over there to talk to here and he was there. He said he didn’t come to kill me, but to come and take Liz. I don’t remember where he said he was taking her but he started to leave and he threw me against the wall, I blacked, and the next thing I know is that I’m on Liz’s balcony covered in blood.”
“ Oh, God. Did he even tell you where he was taking Liz?”
“ Yeah, I just can’t remember what e said.”
“ Well, you best be remembering. I mean, he has Liz. They could be anywhere. He could be doing anything to her.” Maria said tears forming in her eyes.
“ Yeah, well next time you get thrown up against a brick wall you see how easy it is to remember what happened.”
“Ok, I’m sorry. This is just a lot of news to take in at once.”
“ Call Michael, tell him to get the others and meet us at the pod chamber.”
“ K.” Maria left her bedroom to go get the pone. For the first time since it happened Max really thought about what had taken the place before. Liz was gone. Gone. He didn’t know if he would ever see her again. Sure, he wasn’t her boyfriend anymore and he was now dating Tess, but he still loved her. Nothing would ever change that. Why couldn’t I have attacked him before he attacked me. If I only could have figured out who he was sooner then Liz might still be here and not with some alien killer from Antar. Antar. “Oh my God,” Max whispered.
“What,” Maria said as she walked in the room with the phone. She saw the scared look on Max’s face and tears started pouring from her eyes. “ What is it Max? Where’s Liz?”
Max turned to her and looked her straight in the eye. His eyes were red and were glazed over from unshed tears. “Antar. He took her to Antar.”

Part 3

Michael slammed the phone on hook and walked out the door. Maria had called him she sounded really upset. She told him to call the others and tell them to meet at the pod chamber. What in the hell could be so important that we have to meet at the pod chamber, he had first thought, but he called Isabel, Tess, Kyle, and he tried to call Liz but she didn’t answer.. Man, it’s 5:30 in the morning. What could be important that we need to have a meeting at 5:30 in the morning. He saw Isabel, Kyle, and Tess pull up in front him and he hopped in the backseat.
“So are we going to Liz’s now?” Tess asked, jealousy coursing through voice.
“No, she didn’t answer,” Michael answered shortly. He didn’t know why she was jealous. She had Max. She should be happy.
“ What is this all about anyway?” Isabel asked.
“Yea, I mean a man needs his beauty sleep,” Kyle said.
“Kyle, get over yourself,” Tess said.
“I don’t know. Maria called me and she said to call all of you and meet at the pod chamber. It must be important because she sounded really upset.”
“Why was Max over at Maria’s house anyway? If it was that important why didn’t come to one of us?” Tess asked, looking towards the backseat at Michael.
“I don’t know. I guess we’ll find out when we get there,” Michael said. He starting to get an attitude. Tess was getting on his nerves. He leaned back in the seat, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked out at the desert that surrounded them.
* * * *
Max stood outside the pod chamber watching as a car approached him. Isabel got out of the car and ran up to her brother. “Oh my God, what happened Max?” Max looked at his sister then at the bloody towel he held in his hand. Tears formed in his eyes as he thought back to the night before. “It’s a long story,” he said quietly.
“Hey guys.” Max and Isabel turned around to see Maria standing behind them. There were tears running down her cheeks. Michael, who was standing behind Max, went up to her and took him in her arms. Maria silently cried in his arms, burying her face in his chest. Michael turned to look at everyone who was now standing by Max, “What happened?” Maria looked up at him.
“Khivar,” Max said looking down. “ I went to go talk to Liz....”
“Wait, why were going to talk to Liz?” Tess asked, anger gleaming in her eyes.
“Tess, just shut up and let him tell the story. It doesn’t matter why he went to go talk to Liz,” Isabel snapped.
“When I got there, I saw someone talking to Liz. Liz, she looked scared so I knew that something was wrong. I asked him who he was. He turned around and started talking about earth sayings. That’s kinda when I figured it out. The way he said my name. It all just kind of came together. I think Liz figured it out too. He had her...” Max stopped. Breathe Max. just get through it now. “He was taking her with him, he said,” Max started again, “He said he was taking her back to Antar with him. He wouldn’t tell me why. He said that he didn’t want to me, or any of us yet. “There you got it. The group thought awhile as the words sunk in.
“ What do you mean not kill us yet. Does that mean he’s coming back?” Isabel asked, her voice shaking. She was surprised he didn’t come for her. There were lovers in their other lifetime. Why Liz?
“I don’t know. All I know is that we have to get Liz back.”
“ Get her back! How are we going to do that?” Tess said walking up to Max.
“ I haven’t thought that far ahead yet.” The group fell silent all thinking of some way they could get Liz back. Michael, who had said nothing, looked down at Maria who was still crying in is arms. “ We have to go to Antar. That’s the only way.” Everyone looked at Michael. He wasn’t all that close to Liz but he couldn’t stand Maria being upset like this. “We know how to work the granolith now so we use it and go to Antar.”
“ I’m all up for it,” Tess said.
“ Is there any other choice?” Isabel asked, tears forming in her own eyes.
“ No,” Max said. “We have to go to Antar.”

* * * *

“ What’s the point in having me blindfolded when there’s no way I can escape,” Liz asked. She pulled, well, more like being dragged along by Khivar. They have been walking since they left her house. Where Max was. Unless he had woken up already. I hope he’s ok, Liz thought.
“ Good point,” Khivar said as he yanked the blindfold off her face. For the first time she really looked at him. His face wasn’t as soft looking as it was last night. It was probably a coy to get me to trust him. He had a strong jaw and high cheek bones. His face was covered in scars. The most noticeable one was across the bottom of his jaw. It was about five inches long and it was deep. It looked like it was recently put there. “ What are you looking at?” He asked, a smirk forming across his face.
“ Why do want me? I’m not an alien. Why are you taking me to Antar”
“ Well, I guess there’s no harm in telling you. You see, Zan, he was a stubborn bastard. Even you would say so. He had it easy it up. Everything went his way, except when I killed him of course,” Khivar took a moment to laugh at what he did,” Anyway, I had spies all throughout the palace telling me what was going on. Vilondra told me everything she knew. She told me the plans that Rath came up with to defeat me. They were actually good and they probably would have worked but Zan was so pigheaded that he didn’t listen to any ideas that weren’t his.”
“ Max isn’t like that.”
“ No, you’re right there. Max isn’t like that but Zan was. Max had to grow up here, on earth. He was surrounded by people who would want him dead if they knew what he is. He had to learn to trust Michael’s and Isabel’s ideas and opinions to survive. On Antar everyone looked up to him so he wanted all the credit for all the plans.”
“ What does this have to do with you taking me with you?”
“ Everything, actually. See, I’ve been watching all of you for quite sometime now. I know that you Max love each other and would do anything to save the other. So, if I take you back to Antar with me, and he already knows how to work the granolith, then he would follow.”
“ And what if doesn’t follow? What are you going to do then? And plus, he’s with Tess now.”
“ He’ll follow. I’m not worried about that. Well, he might be with Tess but he still loves you. Besides, it’s not like he wants to be with her. He feels obligated to. It’s his alien side that’s telling him he needs to be with her.”
“ What exactly are you going to do with when we get there?”
“ I’ll have someone take you to the palace and tell Zan when he gets there that you escaped from the guards and the other slaves.”
“ Slaves? You have slaves up there?”
“ Well, yes, King Zan has slaves. They’re just people that have failed to follow the Antarian rules.”
“Max wouldn’t do that. He’ll know who I am.”
“ Do you think I’m that stupid!” He yelled, “ I’ve thought of this already! He won’t remember you. Neither will Isabel, Michael, or Tess! Once they get to Antar they will fall into the roles they in before they died. Isabel will become my lover. Rath will become hard and rough. Tess will become a skanky bitch....”
“She already is that.”
“ Well some people don’t change much.”
“ Why won’t they remember but you will?” Liz was starting to get scared. She was scared before but she had blocked the fear out and the walls she built around were slowly falling down. Max won’t remember me. He won’t remember anything that happened between us. Wait, maybe he’s just saying that to scare me. God, please don’t let what he’s saying be true. Tears started to fall from her face again.
“Because I never grew up here. I’m strong enough to remember what happens in both worlds. Why are you crying? Don’t worry, you won’t be killed. You’ll just be worked really hard. I am so brilliant.”
“ You’re so self conceited,” Liz muttered to herself. Khivar jerked her around to face him.
“ You know, I could always just kill you here and hide the body. Max would think you’re with me, he would come to Antar, forget all about Max and what happened here on earth, and then I will kill them! Again! And this time I will make sure that they don’t send them back here and I will rule Antar! Now shut up if you want to make it to tomorrow!” Khivar started pulling her along with him. Liz looked behind her and thought, Max. I can’t let him go to Antar. I’d would rather die then see him not love me.

Part 4

“I’m not sure this is such a good idea,” Isabel said. “I mean, what if Khivar finds me. What if he kills us. What will the others think?”
“Well, we’re part of the royal court so the people would probably be happy to see us,” Tess answered, glad that they might be returning home. She knew that Max would do anything and go anywhere to save Liz. That meant that they would be going to Antar. All she had to do was to convince the others to come and she would on her way home. Since Nasedo was dead the deal he made with Khivar wouldn’t follow through, and plus she wasn’t pregnant. But she was sure Khivar had another plan to kill Max burning in his head. That was the only bad part about this plan. She would have to think of some to talk Khivar into not killing her. The best part of the plan was that she knew Max, Isabel, and Michael wouldn’t remember their earth lives. Well, neither would she but Nasedo told her that since they grew up here, they weren’t strong enough to remember what to them in both worlds. They would only know that they were sent to earth and that they were back. They would only know how to act the way they had before they died. And that meant that Max would love her and he would not remember Liz. She would be queen again! Ah, the glory of it. She wouldn’t ignored and treated like a piece of gum on their shoes anymore. She would have the power. That was what it was all about. Power. She had killed to gain it. Past and present lives. Like Alex. She was glad that Liz was gone because she had come uncomfortably close to figuring out the truth.
“Tess!” She heard Kyle call. She snapped back into reality and removed the evil grin that had been plastered on her face.
“What!?”
“Do you still have the key thing to the granolith?” Kyle asked.
“Yeah. So are we all leaving?”
“I’m not. I can’t leave Maria,” Michael said, looking down at the blonde he was holding his arms.
“Yes you are. I don’t want you to go but you have to. Maybe you can stop the whole war thing while your up there. But you have to make sure Max can save Liz and get you all back here,” Maria felt the tears run down her face. She didn’t want Michael leave, but she didn’t exactly trust Max now that he had started going out with Tess. He had withdrawn himself from everything.
“That settles it then I guess,” Tess started, “ We leave tomorrow night. We’ll meet here at 9:00 p.m..” Tess finished, and with that she walked off towards the car.
“Max, I’m riding with Maria so you can go with Isabel,” Michael said. He was still surprised that Tess had given an order like that. It was like she couldn’t wait to leave. Even Max had looked at her funny when she said it.
“K,” Max slowly wandered towards the car, followed by Isabel and Kyle.
“Do you think Max will be ok?” Maria asked.
“Max will be fine. We’ll go there get Liz and come back. I’m more worried about Isabel. She doesn’t want to go but she needs to in case we need her help.”
“I’m surprised you want to go. You aren’t that close with her.”
“Yeah, but you are and I don”t want to see you depressed the rest of your life wondering where Liz is and what happened to her.”
“Your so sweet,” Maria said leaning towards Michael. Michael closed the distance and brushed his lips against Maria’s. Maria deepened the kiss by prying Michael’s lips apart with her tongue. It was a slow, romantic kiss and Michael was enjoying but he groaned when Maria lifted her lips from his. “We need to go,” Maria said walking towards her car. Michael followed and he looked towards the sky. I’m going to my real home yet I don’t feel excited about.

Part 5

Isabel lay in her bed thinking. Her cheeks were streaked with dry tears and her hands were shaking. She didn’t want to go home. She knew what her past was like. She was Khivar’s lover. How could she go back? Most of all she didn’t want to leave her parents. What would they think? Her and Max were leaving a letter saying that them and Michael were going to leave for a little while but they didn’t know when they would be back. To tell you the truth, Isabel didn’t think that they would be returning at all. They had the granolith to get there, but how would they get back? She tried to convince herself that everything would be ok. That they would go to Antar, get Liz, and come back, but somewhere in her mind something didn’t want to her to come back. It wanted to go to Antar and stay there. No, Isabel told herself. I want to come back. I need to come back. Isabel heard someone knock on her door and she looked up. It was Max. she fiercely wiped away her tears and held her hands in her lap to keep them from shaking.
“How are you doing?” Max asked softly.
“ I’ll live. I just don’t want to go.”
“You don’t have to. Me, Michael, and Tess could just....”
“No Max! I have to go. What if something happens to you. What if Khivar....” Isabel sobbed heavily. “What if Khivar kills you again and I’m not there to help you. I have to go. I mean, we’re not going to be there that long. We’re just going to get Liz and then come back right?” Isabel looked at her brother. She wanted him to say yes. That they would only be gone for a couple of days. But he looked at her with worry. He feels it too, she thought. He knows that it won’t be that simple.
“Yes. There and back,” Max lied. He wanted to comfort her. Not tell her about this feeling that he had in the back of his mind. He leaned in and gave her a hug then he walked back to his room.

* * * *

It was dark outside and Khivar had taken Liz somewhere in the desert. Liz looked around but nothing looked familiar. She had been walking for almost two days and they only stopped to get something to eat at a local restaurant. She didn’t eat much but she did go to the bathroom. There was a payphone next to them and she had tried to call Max but Khivar had seen her and had disconnected the phone. They left after that and he tied her arms behind her back with some rope he found on the side of the road. “About a mile and then I’m home sweet home,” Khivar said, grinning.
“I still don’t understand why you just don’t kill Max here instead of going through all of this trouble.”
“Trouble? This is actually enjoyable. I can actually see why Max would date someone like you. A mere human. But to answer your question, Max is actually stronger here then he was on Antar. Strange, isn’t it? Here, he grew up around you without having much time to practice his powers but he’s stronger. I can feel it.” Liz stopped talking and they walked in silence. The air blew around them and the stars were bright. It seemed like such a perfect night, but Liz knew it was far from perfect.

Part 6

The next day came and went. Max stayed holed up in his room and Isabel spent as much time with her parents as she could. Kyle came over and talked to Max and Isabel for awhile when he left to go say his goodbyes to Michael and Tess. Maria and Michael never left each others arms. Maria cried the whole day about him leaving and not having Liz around. They had a cover story saying that Liz was with Maria but she would tell them later that she didn’t know where she ran off to. She would suggest that she left with Max and them so that her parents wouldn’t think that she was kidnaped. At about 8:00 o’clock, Max and Isabel went to go pick up Tess, Kyle, Michael, and Maria. They drove to the desert in silence. All thinking about the journey ahead of them. They arrived at the pod chamber at about 8:45. 15 minutes before they left. All Max could think about was getting Liz back and Tess was about to burst with jealousy.
“So...what do we do now,” Kyle asked trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
“We leave,” Tess said quietly. She looked around at the group. Maria hung tightly to Michael. Max stood next to Isabel and they both had tears in their eyes. Kyle was standing off to himself looking obviously uncomfortable.
“Do you have the key?” Max asked Tess.
“Yea.”
“I guess we leave now,” Michael said.
“Why are leaving early?” Isabel said frantically, “We said we were leaving at 9:00.”
“We might as well leave now. We’re just standing here and nothing is getting done,” Tess said. Without saying anything, Max held his hand over the rock and it opened. He helped Isabel step through and climbed in after her. Tess said goodbye to Maria and Kyle and walked in after them. “Maria, I...”Michael started.
“I know, I know. You have to go. Just come back to me ok? Get Liz and come back.” Without saying anything, Michael leaned down and kissed her. It was magical yet heartbreaking at the same time. Michael broke the kiss and wiped away a tear that had fallen from her eyes.
“I love you,” he said and before she could reply, he broke away from her arms and went into the pod chamber, the door closing behind him.

* * * *
A couple of hours earlier.... Khivar had dragged Liz across the desert for at least six miles. The sun was going down and it was getting cooler. Sweat was dripping from her neck and forehead and she enjoyed the cool breeze that danced across her face. Liz looked at the ground as they walked, not wanting to see what lie ahead of her. She had seen it a mile back but as they walked closer, it got bigger. It was a ship. It looked like the granolith but it was bigger. “It would be more advanced but it’s cheap. Don’t worry though it will make back to Antar,” Khivar told her as if that was what she was worried about. He stopped in front of it and smiled up at it. He held up his hand and a door type thing opened in the middle of it. He pulled Liz into it who was looking back at the desert. This might the last time I ever see earth, home, Max, she thought. With one last tug Liz was in the ship and the view of the desert had vanished.

Part 7

Kyle held Maria while she cried in his shoulder wetting his shirt. They had moved away from the pod chamber but they still could see it. They hadn’t left and they had been there for almost half an hour. Kyle was starting to think that they couldn’t get it started. As soon as the thought entered his head he heard a low rumbling and the area around the started shaking. Kyle’s arms tightened around Maria as they looked up and saw the granolith shooting up into the air at an impossible speed. Maria started sobbing again as the granolith disappeared out of sight. Turning around Kyle led Maria towards her car and said a silent goodbye.

* * * *

A few minutes earlier... “Ready to go?” Max asked the group. They all nodded their head without looking up. Tears were rolling down Isabel’s face as she for Max’s hand. Michael’s face held no emotion and Tess looked almost excited.
“Well, what are we waiting for?” Tess asked. She pulled out the key to granolith and handed it to Max. max slowly turned it in hands just staring at it. Everybody was silent as Max bent down and inserted it. The granolith lit up and everybody stared at it. “It’s time,” Max said dropping Isabel’s hand. “Who’s first?” Without speaking Tess held up her hand and entered the granolith. Michael followed without saying anything. Isabel looked up at Max who had tears in his eyes. “You don’t have to go, Isabel,” Max said again.
“Yes I do,” Isabel said nodding her head. She held up her hand and entered the granolith. Max looked around the pod chamber then followed behind Isabel. As soon as he got in the pod chamber started shaking and the granolith left the pod chamber.

* * * *

Liz looked around her surroundings. They had just stepped off the ship. The ride there took all of two minutes and it was smooth and dark. It was crammed so she had to stand close to Khivar. They landed in a place that looked exactly like a desert except the sand was black and it felt like she was walking on soft bread. The area around her was flat and smooth. There were no rocks or any sign of wildlife around, if they even had any. They walked until they came up to a forest type thing. The trees were large and red, at least they looked red against the black sky. Stars were dotted around the sky and there were about four or five moons. “You like it?” Khivar asked. “No,” Liz responded sharply.
“Sure you do, you’re just mad.”
“Where are you taking me?”
“There is a village a little ways through here where I have people who will take care of you until Zan and the others get here.”
“They’ll remember me. Max will remember me. You don’t know Max like I do. He wouldn’t forget me like that.”
“Your right, but I do know Zan better than you.” Khivar stopped talking as they came to a clearing. There were small houses that were plain and simple. There were dirt roads that led to the different houses and buildings. There were about 30 to 40 houses and buildings and they were all an off white.
“Home sweet home,” Khivar mumbled.
“This is where you live? I figured you would live somewhere...”
“Nicer? Well, this is blocked off by powers so the royal guards can’t find us. It has to be small because the power takes a lot of effort.” They walked to house that was a little bigger than the others. Khivar opened the door and walked in. There were no walls except in the corner where there was a small room. Out of know where a man appeared in front them. He was tall and dark. His hair was blackish blueish and his eyebrows were dark and thick. His eyes though, his eyes were almost orange. He had a beard that went almost to his shoulders which were broad and thick.
“This must be Liz,” he said, his voice raspy and seductive.
“I am Larkton. You can call me Lark, “ He turned towards Khivar and smiled. “Your back. How was your trip? You were gone for quite some time. I see that your plan is going well then?” “Yes it’s fine. I had quite a fun time with this one on the way over here. She’s smart and beautiful. Two good qualities for the price of one,” Khivar looked at her and smiled. “Where are you keeping her?”
“I built some walls so she can stay contained in the small room. I blocked so that only I can enter it and she can not escape.”
“Good. I’ll put her in there and then we’ll talk about the rest of the plan.”
“Ok.” Khivar turned and pulled Liz towards the small room and threw her in it and slammed the door behind him. “Are they here yet?” Khivar asked.
“No, but the tracking system said that they have left and should be here in about an hour. The granolith is slower and it will take more time for them to get here.”
“Good. I programmed the granolith to take them to the front of the palace so once they get there they will fall into there past roles.”
“Perfect. Then we can kill for good this time. They should be here in about another hour so I will prepare the girl. Make her look like a slave who escaped from the palace.” Lark walked towards the room where Liz was being held. He opened the door and went in the room, closing the door behind him. “Hello, I see you’ve made yourself quite comfortable,” Lark said, looking at Liz who was huddled to a corner. Her arms were wrapped around her knees and she was crying. “So small and fragile, how sweet. Here put these on,” he threw her some clothes. It was a small simple, brown dress that was torn in several places. It was long and would probably reach the ground when she put it on. “ It’s simple, I know. But you have to look like a slave. People like you have to wear the simple clothes. Only the people worth looking good get to wear the nice clothes,” Lark bragged.
“That obviously doesn’t include you,” Liz mumbled looking at the dress.
“What did you say!”
“You heard me,” Liz looked up as she said this. Lark slapped her across the face.
“Hurry up and get dressed. Zan should be here soon.,” Lark turned around and faced the door so she could get dressed. Liz reluctantly pulled her shirt and pants off and slid the dress over her head. Lark turned around and grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out the door. Khivar looked at them and said, “They’ve landed.”

* * * *

The ride was long but it seemed only a matter of seconds. Max’s mind felt like it was going through a whirlwind. They landed after what only seemed like a minute. The landing wasn’t that hard but it shook them a little bit. They all stepped out and suddenly Max knew everything. It was all so familiar. He knew where he was, he knew that people around him, yet he couldn’t remember why he was in the granolith he looked beside him and saw Vilondra, Rath, and Ava. He reached for AvaÆs hand. She smiled up at him and said, “We’re home. We’re finally home.” All around them people were bowing their heads.
“Hello, my faithful people. We are back from earth and we will not be leaving again. I hope that you took good care of our palace while we were gone?” Zan looked around waiting for someone to answer him. Lark, who changed his face, walked up to him dragging Liz behind him. “Yes, your palace was well taken care of. We are glad to have you back, your highness. Was earth life anything like here?”
“I don’t remember living there. I all I know was that I went there and came back here. Home. Who is that?” Zan said, referring to Liz who standing beside Lark.
“This, is a slave who had managed to escape the grounds of the palace. The tracking system told us of your return so I waited for you to land before we punished her.” Lark pulled Liz in front of him so Zan could look at her. Zan eyed her up and down. He dropped Ava’s hand and put it under Liz’s chin and lifted it so she was forced to look at him.
“What’s your name?” Zan asked removing his hand.
“Liz,” she replied, tears rolling down her cheeks, “ I’m Liz. Max, I’m Liz! You know who I am Max! You know who I am!” Liz started to break down in hysterical sobs. He didn’t know who she was! He didn’t remember her! “ Remember earth! Remember Roswell and the Crashdown and....and the shooting! Remember! Max.....please,” Her voice quieted as she softly spoke his name. “Please, Max, please, remember. Remember me.” she looked in his eyes that had lightened with anger.
“I have no idea who you are or who Max is!” Zan yelled. She had embarrassed him by talking to him that way in public. She had no right. But the things she was talking about, about the shooting, that sounded familiar. It sounded so familiar. A part of him wanted to believe her, a part that was down so deep that it could hardly be heard. “Just put her back with the other slaves, I’ll figure something else to do with her later. We just got home and I want to get rested up before dinner.” Grabbing Ava’s hand again, he walked towards the palace which was standing just in front of them. Rath and Vilondra followed behind them along with the other Antarian’s who lived in the palace. Lark walked around to the back of the palace with Liz they reached a large, wooden door. He held his hand in front of him and emitted a yellowish glow and the door opened. He threw Liz in and left without saying a word.

Part 8

Liz looked around the room she was thrown in. It was small but there were several doors other then the one that led outside. There was a small bed in one corner and there were shelves on the wall opposite to the bed. Behind was the door that led outside. It was locked but there was a small window so she could see outside. There were four doors leading from the wall that stood in front of her and they were all locked also. Liz walked over and lay down on the bed. She curled up in a ball and cried softly to herself. She stayed like that for about half an hour before she finally cried herself to sleep. She slept for about four hours before she woke to the sound of someone opening the door. She looked around and saw a small redheaded girl come through one of the doors. She was carrying a tray with some kind of cup looking thing on it. The girl had a warm smile and bright green eyes. She was a little shorter than Liz was but she looked a couple years older. Her eyes were worn and tired but her face was soft. “ Hello. Someone told me that you were here so I thought that you might be thirsty,” she said as she held the cup to Liz. “ I’m Maya, and you are?” Liz looked up from the cup she was holding. “ Liz. My name is Liz.” Maya held out her hand for Liz to shake. Liz shook her hand then quietly sat back down on the bed. “ What did you do? To get put down here, I mean,” Maya asked.
“ I fell in love with someone, who I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with,” Liz said, her voice shaking.
“ I don’t understand. Why weren’t you supposed to....” Maya stopped when someone started unlocking the door. Liz looked at the door then Maya when she saw Zan walk in the door. Maya bowed her head. “ Your highness, I’m, I, I’m sorry. I was just talking to Liz. I’m sorry I’ll leave.”
“ Lock the door behind you. I don’t want any disturbances.”
“ Yes, your highness.” Bowing her head one more time she said a silent goodbye to Liz and walked out the door.
“ Making friends already?” Zan said, smirking.
“ She brought me something to drink. Is there something wrong with that.”
“ Don’t have an attitude, I was only kidding.”
“ Why are you here? I didn’t think you important people visited the slaves.” Liz’s voice held no emotion. She was upset but she didn’t want him to know how upset she was.
“ We don’t. I just came to ask you something.”
“ Look, Max, Zan, whatever your name is, if this is about what happened earlier then you should just forget about it.”
“ Why do you keep calling me that? Max? You say you know who I am but I’ve never seen you in my life before.”
“ Max,” Liz started. She didn’t want to talk about this but she had no other choice,” was your earth name.” Before she could continue someone came into the room.
“ King Zan, it’s time for supper,” the man said. With one last look at Liz Zan walked out the door.
* * * *
At the palace....

Ava walked into her and Zan’s large room for the first time. She smiled smugly to herself. “ What are you smiling about?” Tess jumped.
“ I’m just happy to be back. It’s been so long.” Ava said turning towards Zan.
“ I know, but we’re back for good. It’s time for dinner, so let’s get out of these so-called clothes and into something more formal. I’ll meet you down stairs.” Zan leaned down and kissed her on the cheek then walked through the door to the adjoining room. Ava watched him walk out of the room and thought to herself, this is working out perfectly. I didn’t think I would remember but I do. And he’s all mine, not Liz’s, mine. And I have the power. Power. Silva, Ava’s personal servant quietly knocked on the door. “ Your highness,” she said shyly,” what would you like to wear tonight?” Ava, who remembered everything from her earth and past life here, also remembered what clothes she owned. “ Since it’s our first night back, I’ll wear my night blue one.” Ava turned towards the large mirror and watched a dress form around her body. She glanced at Silva, who held her hand up to Ava. As Ava watched she saw her old clothes disappear and a dark blue dress start to form. When Silva was done Ava looked in the mirror at herself. The dress was long and it touched the floor. It got slimmer as it reached her breasts. It had a low neckline that didn’t leave much room for imagination. The sleeves were long and they reached her fingers. “ Thank you Silva. You may leave now.” Ava said as she moved her hand over her hair and put it in a simple up sweep with just a few strands hanging around her face. She then quickly applied her makeup and placed her silver crown on her head. She looked in the mirror one last time then walked down stairs to the dining room.
* * * *

Zan paced around his dressing quarters waiting for his servant to come. Max, why does that sound so familiar? And Liz, I’ve heard that name before, Zan thought. It must be my imagination. I’m home now, with my palace, Rath, Ava, Vilondra. Vilondra. Why does it seem that she did something, something before we were sent to earth. I can’t remember what it was. Oh well, it was probably just a small fight. Zan was interrupted from his thoughts by a knock at the door. He turned around and saw Ava standing in the doorframe. “ Honey, it’s time for supper. You’ll just have to wear what your wearing now because Gendron has disappeared. They think that he went over to Khivar’s side.”
“ Alright, I’ll just have to find a new servant.”
“ There are no more free ones, Zan. Everyone has either there own chores to do or have gone over to Khivar’s side.”
“ We’ll talk about this later. Let’s go eat.” Zan walked over to Ava and linked his arm through her’s and led her down the stairs. On the way down there Zan stopped one of the servants to tell him to go find someone who was free to be his personal servant.

Part 9

Maya visited Liz later that night and brought her some food and then left her to be by herself. She left the door that was to her room open in case Liz wanted to talk or she needed something. It was dark outside and lay on her bed looking through teary eyes at the midnight black sky. There were no stars and the only light in the room came from the four moons that shone in the sky outside. The moons were brighter then the one on earth. Almost as bright as the sun. Liz looked at barely eaten food that Maya brought her a couple of hours later. It wasn’t much different from the food that she was used to. It was different kind of meat and she could now see why Max and the others liked to eat tabasco sauce on everything. The meat was so bland and plain. There was no seasoning on it so she had asked Maya if they had any tabasco sauce. She said that she had never heard of it before but she gave Liz something that tasted quite similar. Liz picked the tray up and started to eat again. Liz looked up at the door when she heard someone open it. She saw to strange men standing in front of her open door. “Are you Liz?” The tallest guy asked. His voice was deep and gruff. His eyes were soft though and not as menacing as his voice.
“Yes. Who are you? Want do you want?”
“The king would like to speak to you,” the man said and the short plump man who was standing beside him reached out and grabbed Liz’s arm and pulled her through the door.

****
About two hours earlier...

Zan and Ava had finished their meal and were now talking in their room. “ So have you found someone to be your personal servant?” Ava asked, sitting in front of her vanity mirror.
“I had someone go and see if there were any free servants left,” Zan answered, looking at Ava through the mirror.
“Well, they better hurry. I don’t like you not having someone to clean after you. And I can’t tell Silva to do it because all she’ll do is complain about the extra work”
“I just hope I get one who isn’t a follower of Khivar.”
“Have you figured out how you are going defeat him before this thing breaks out into a huge bloody thing?”
“No. Not yet. But Rath keeps bothering about his stupid ideas and we haven’t been here for a whole day.”
“You’ll think of something.”
“ Can we please talk about something else,” Zan said moving closer to Ava.
“ What do you want to talk about?” Ava asked standing up moving towards Zan.
“ Let’s just not talk right now,” Zan whispered, and with that he closed the distance between him and Ava. He brushed his lips softly against hers. Ava deepened the kiss by running her tongue along his bottom lip. Zan brought his hand to Ava’s shoulders and slipped the straps of her dress off her shoulders. It fell to the ground and pooled around her ankles. They walked to the bed and Zan lifted Ava and placed her in it. Zan took his clothes of while Ava did the same. He lay on top of her and he smothered his face in her breasts Ava moaned as he licked her nipple and swirled it around in his mouth. She grabbed his head and moaned for him not to stop. He moved to the other nipple while his hand played with the other breast. When he finished he slowly licked his way down her stomach and to her dark curls. “Ahh, Zan!” She cried as he buried his face into her pussie. He licked it from top to bottom and she screamed with pleasure. He spread her legs farther apart for better access and he inserted one finger into her. He moved his finger in and out slowly. “ Zan, please,” she cried as he inserted another finger into her slick folds. He pumped his faster. “ Ohhhh, god! Ahhhhh!,” she screamed as warm juices fled from her body and unto Zan’s hand. Zan replaced his hand with his mouth and he licked up her juices. She came a second time and he soon had her licked dry. “Fuck me Zan. I need you now.” Zan placed his probing cock at the center of her pussie before he thrust into her. Grunting with pleasure he moved faster and harder. he knew this was going to be a quick one so he reached in between their sweaty bodies and rubbed her bundle of nerves. He rubbed harder until he felt her squeeze her muscles around him and he was swept over the edge into an earth shattering orgasm. He left her body and laid down beside her and they both quickly fell asleep.
Zan awoke with a start when he heard a knock at the door. He quickly waved his hand in front of him and pajama’s appeared on his body. He went to the door and said annoyingly, “ What is it?”
“ We have found you a new personal servant the man said and shoved the servant into the room and walked away.

Part10

Liz was pushed forward by the tall man and into a large room. She looked up away from her feet and saw that she was standing in front Max, or Zan. She glanced behind her and saw that the man had brought her here was gone. “Are the only one that was free?” A very annoyed Zan asked. Liz looked around and saw the reason at why he was annoyed. A naked Ava was lying in the bed behind him. She saw the tips of her breasts poking out from the beneath the sheets. Liz looked away and tryed to hide her tears from Zan. I’m not going to cry in front of him, she thought. Though what she really wanted to do was shout at him until he remembered who she was and he swept her up into his arms.
“They didn’t tell me anything. I didn’t even know where they were taking me,” she whispered.
“What’s your name?”
“Liz.”
“That’s a very strange name. I might have to consider changing it.”
“Do you always do that?”
“Do what?”
“Treat everybody like they don’t matter. Like they aren’t people.”
“The only people who are worth being treated with respect are people of the royal placing.” Khivar was right, Liz thought. He is a self centered bastard. “But let’s not talk about that right now. You,” Zan continued, placing his hand on Liz’s cheek, “are very pretty. Far prettier than any of the other slaves. Why, you could be become my mistress if you had even just a faint trace of royal blood in your family.”
“You better stop that,” Liz said, pulling away from his hand,” Your wife might see. What would she think then?” Zan glanced back at Ava.
“I don’t really care what she thinks. She’s just my trophy wife. It’s how she looks on my arm that matters. And plus she’s good in bed.”
“I don’t want to hear about your sex life,” Liz said the tears forming again,” It sounds like you don’t treat her with much respect either.”
“Let’s stop talking about me,” Zan changed the subject obviously not liking the direction the conversation was going. When he looked at her now he didn’t see any trace of familiarity that he had felt before. “Why did you call me Max earlier?”
“ I was confused. I don’t know why I called you that.” Liz lied. She couldn’t keep making a fool of herself like that. She had to keep calm so she could eventually try to see if he remembered anything. He was strong enough to remember what happened on both worlds. She knew he was. He was stronger than he had ever taken credit for. “I’m tired, can I please go to sleep?”
“Yes, you will sleep in the room across the hall. You will have to do until I find another replacement. I would much rather prefer a male servant.” Zan said. And plus she was making him fell this weird feeling. Just looking at her caused a slight stir in his stomach. He watched as Liz turned and left his room before he closed the door and went to sleep.

****

In her new room, which was slightly bigger and cleaner than her other one, Liz curled herself in a ball and cried herself to sleep. He made love to Ava and he didn’t remember anything about her. Those were the last thoughts she had. That night she tossed and turned in her sleep. She could hear herself scream Max’s name as Khivar dragged her away. She could see Max helplessly fall to the ground after Khivar hit him with his power.
The next morning she woke to the sound of someone shuffling through her room. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Maya walking around opening the curtains. The sun shone through and blinded Liz. She closed her eyes again and when she did she saw, through her minds eye, a short plump woman walking towards Liz’s door. When she reopened her eyes she saw Maya opening the door for a sort plump woman. Liz sat up quickly in bed. How had she done that? She had seen that woman come to the door before she actually came. No, it couldn’t be, Liz told herself. It’s just my imagination. “Good morning,” Maya said to Liz.
“King Zan would like to see you in his room,” the woman said sternly. “Come on, get up. He demanded it and he doesn’t to like to wait on people,” the woman grabbed Liz’s hand and pulled her out of bed. For the first time Liz really looked around the room. It was cleaner and nicer then the other room, and when she looked out the window she saw how beautiful the grounds beneath her were. “Come on,” the woman pulled her trance. When she looked down, she noticed that she was wearing different clothes then she was before. Without having the time to really think about, she pulled out of the room and across the hall to Zan’s bedroom. Right before they entered she saw in her minds eye, Zan pacing the room and Ava sitting at her vanity table. The woman opened the door and to Liz’s surprise she saw Zan pacing and Ava sitting at her vanity table. That’s the second time that’s happened, Liz thought. It’s not my imagination. I’ll have to ask Maya about it later.
“There you are! Where have you been!”
“It took a while to get her out of bed,” the woman answered.
“From now on I expect you in here right after sun rises.” Liz didn’t reply. “Well, go on. Do your duties. Liz looked at him questionably. “What duties.” Zan stopped pacing and looked at her. There was something about her. Something that made him want to just stare at her eyes all day. “ I....I have things to do Silva will have to tell you what you need to do,” and with that Zan told Ava to come on and they left the room.
“Stop daydreaming and listen to me,” Silva snapped. “You need to make sure that this room is always clean. You will make sure make sure that your highness is properly dressed for his duties.”
“Wait. Properly dressed? He can’t dress himself?” Liz tried not to laugh at how pathetic that sounded.
“They both prefer to have us use our powers and dress them. It’s stupid I know but it’s always been done that way,” Silva smiled. Well, at least she’s starting to be nicer, Liz thought. “I’m the queen’s personal servant and I have been for years. It’s not an easy job but it has its pluses.”
“About the powers thing......I really don’t have any.”
“What do you mean you don’t have any. Every body here has them. Oh, well, I guess it skipped a generation. I would like to see Zan start dressing himself, though the queen would probably have me do it being the brat that she is.” Liz had to smile at that. Khivar was right about one thing: some people just don’t change. Silva then left her alone and Liz began cleaning the room. And she had thought her life on earth had been bad. Her and Max could’nt even speak to each other without having an argument. Him and Tess were together. Tess was a bitch to her even after she had Max. And Alex was dead. Alex. She was so close to figuring out what happened to also. That life seemed so perfect compared to the one she was living in now. Here, she was slave and she had no friends. The worst part of it all was that Max was here but he didn’t remember her. She missed her parents and Maria. Tears sprang to her eyes. She sat down the corner of the room and she began to sob. After staying like that for a couple a minutes she sat up suddenly and ran out the door. She remembered the way to the front door and she ran outside welcoming the cool air. She ran until she felt she couldn’t breathe. She had ended up in a small garden just at the edge of the woods. There was a small pond there. She saw a bench and she sat on it and started crying again. When she had no tears left she felt a hand on her shoulder. When she looked up she was looking into the soulful eyes of Zan.

Part 11

Liz jumped back when she saw she was looking into the eyes of Zan. He was the last person she expected to see. “What are you doing?” Liz asked, standing up.
“I should ask you the same thing? You haven’t finished your work.”
“Haven’t finished! I have scrubbed that room from top to bottom. I was on my hands and knees scrubbing a floor that didn’t need scrubbing in the first place!” Liz yelled.
“I agree, but Ava somehow managed to find something wrong with it. It doesn’t smell right.”
“The way you talk about her....it sounds like you don’t love her.”
“Love her! Ha! It’s impossible to love her. Everything you do for her she says it’s not enough. Why did you call me Max?” Zan asked again. “You weren’t confused. You were in hysterics.” Liz stepped back, tears already forming in her eyes. She couldn’t explain it to him. It hurt to much and he wouldn’t believe her. Liz looked towards the woods. “Michael’s coming,” Liz said. Zan looked in the direction Liz was looking and saw no one. He was about to say something when he heard someone call his name. It was Rath, his second in command. He turned around and saw him walking towards them. Why had she called him Michael? And why did those names all sound familiar? He would have to ask her about it later. But for some strange reason he didn’t want to make her cry. He saw the tears the lay unshed in her sweet, soft eyes when he mentioned the name Max. “You are needed immediately sir.”
“Can’t it wait? I’m in the middle of something,” something was telling him not to leave Liz at the moment. He didn’t know what it was but he felt he couldn’t leave her. Like she might need him or something.
“It’s about Khivar, sir.”
“Alright, I’ll be there in a minute.” And with that Rath walked away. “We shall have this conversation another time.” Zan said and walked away. Liz looked after Zan. She didn’t mean to call him Michael. She cursed at herself for doing that. She had just roused up his suspicions about her. Also, she had known that Rath was coming without her seeing him. Zan will probably ask about that too. That’s the third that’s happened and Liz was starting to worry to about it. Since there was nothing left for her to do, she went to the room where Maya was staying. She knocked on the door and Maya opened and let her in. Maya’s room was identical to her first room as she suspected all the rooms down here were. “Hey, Liz. What are you doing here?”
“I need to talk to you.”
“Ok, come and sit down.” Liz sat down on the old bed.
“So, what’s your job for Zan.....the king,” Liz said. She knew it wouldn’t sound polite if she called him Zan.
“I work in the kitchen. I clean the dishes and make sure the food is properly served. Is there something that you need to talk about? You seem like you need to talk about something.”
“Um, yeah. This morning, you know when Silva came to get me, I knew that she was before you opened the door for her. I know it sounds really weird but it’s happened several times. I know when someone’s coming or I know where they are before I actually see them.” Maya looked confused. “Do you understand what I mean. I came to you because you are the only person I really know here.”
“Are you sure that it’s not you imagination, because the royal females are the only ones that have physic powers.”
“It’s not my imagination.”
“How can you be for sure?”
“Because someone’s about to knock on your door,” Liz said. She opened her eyes. She had shut them about halfway through the conversation. When she saw the person come up to Maya’s door. Maya was quiet and after a few moments was about to speak but she heard a knock. Maya looked at Liz, her eyes opening wide with surprise. The knock came again and Maya got up quickly to open the door. “Silva, hi.” Liz heard Maya say.
“Liz is needed at the palace.”
“I’m coming,” Liz said standing. She looked at Maya who still had a look of shock on her face.

This part explains a lot about their past lives before they were sent to work so enjoy!

Part 12

Zan had asked to see Liz yet he had no reason to. Ava knew that. She knew that even though he had know idea who Max was he could feel the connection with Liz. She had felt when they kissed. Oh, god. He was a good kisser. No wonder Liz kept him around. Liz. Ava despised that name. Ever since she had been chosen to be his servant and she came to their room. Ava couldn’t stand the site of her. It hadn’t been this bad back on earth but ever since that night she grimaced every time she heard her name being said. She had heard what Zan had said to her. About her becoming his mistress. About him saying that he didn’t care what Ava thought. To tell, you the truth that hurt her feelings. Not. She had a lover on the side also. Zan didn’t know though. She had to slip away at night when he was asleep or when he was gone doing business with Rath or something like that. Now was one of those times. She walked out of her room in one of the skimpiest dresses she owned. She looked down the corridor to make sure that no one was coming and she snuck out of the palace. She walked to the edge of the forest and came across the small garden that Zan and Liz were previously at.
Glancing back one last time, Ava disappeared into the woods. They loomed tall above her casting a shadow that made it seem as dark as night. She walked through the forest being careful not to ruin her dress. After she walked a little ways in she came across a small path and that son brought her to an opening in the forest. She could already see the small off white houses and she quickly spotted the one that her lover lived in. Her wonderful lover. Khivar. Ava waved her hand in front of her and she walked out into the opening and towards Khivar’s house.

****

Zan sighed as he looked at the papers that held the supposed action of Khivar’s recent moves. They suspect that they are staying some where near but they are being covered by some dark power. A power that only the strongest have. Or, if there are a lot of people holding it up then it could be done. It has to be a hell of a lot people, Zan thought. Just performing something like that will wear someone out for several days, not allowing them to do anything but sleep after that. The only one who is known for doing something like that was Serena. Of course, some people thought that she was just a legend, Zan knew better. He had never told anyone this, not even Rath, but he had seen her before. She was supposedly the most powerful person on Antar and know one knew where she got her powers from. Some say she is the daughter of the oracle. The first person ever to step foot on Antar. The oracle was the one who decided the king for the time being and the oracle decided who was to marry whom. Only the royals of course. The oracle saved time and told the future king or prince who he or she was to married to. But in his case this was different. The oracle had paired him up with Serena. At the time she was the most beautiful woman around. Those who saw her desired her and those who hadn’t dreamed about her. It was foretold that Zan would be a great king, and Serena, would be his beautiful wife. You weren’t supposed to meet the person until the day of the wedding. They say that because if you meet before hand you might stay pure and innocent if you know what I mean. But Zan had gotten a message from Serena saying that she couldn’t wait until their wedding day. She wanted to see him then. So they planned a secret rendezvous and they met for the first time in the forest. It was love at first sight. They met and they talked about their childhood and how they didn’t want to be the people their parents wanted them to be. Well, Zan always wanted to be king, but Serena was always kept hidden from everything. She wanted to experience the world through her eyes, not through someone else’s. They met like that as much as possible. They truly were in love. Zan had never felt anything like it before. Back then he wasn’t self-absorbed and he listened to other people and respected them for their opinions. But one terrible night ruined it all for him. He Serena were on another one of their secret meetings. They were walking through the woods, her hand linked through his, when someone in a dark robe came out in front of them.
“What do you want,” Zan said, slowly raising his hand in front of him. But the dark figure said nothing and he quickly grabbed Serena’s hand. He held his hand in front of her face and a strange purple glow surrounded her. Before Zan could do anything Serena slumped in the guys arms. Zan tried to move forward but he found that he couldn’t move. All he could do was follow the figure as he left with his eyes. When the man was out of view Zan was released and he tried to find them, but all he ended up doing was going in circles. The man had known that Zan would probably go after them because he had seen the way he was with Serena. He had put up a block so that Zan couldn’t find them for the time being. Zan felt a tear dampen his cheek and he was thrown back into reality. He wiped it away and returned the shell he had built himself.
He was the same person he was before earth only now he had a strange connection to a girl he had only known for tow days. And whether she meant to or not she was slowly pulling him out of his shell. He had only talked to her a couple of times and of they were not very pleasant but he felt like he could trust her with everything. Like he could with Serena. But he didn’t want to feel like that. He didn’t want to open up to someone like that again just so he could get hurt again. If he couldn’t be happy, then no one deserved to be happy. And so the kind and caring Zan was gone and this new mean and rude one was put in his place. Zan stood up angrily and stomped out the room.

Meanwhile.....

Liz had been taking a nap when she was ripped awake from a very strange dream. She was walking through the woods and she was holding hands with someone but when she looked at him she couldn’t see his face. But she could feel his thumb absent mindedly rubbing the back of her hand. It seemed so real. Liz looked at her hand as if she could still feel his touch and her whole hand was glowing in the strangest color purple.

Part 13

A couple hours earlier.....

Liz had been called to see Zan right after she told Maya about her so called powers. It had shocked her, she could tell. It had shocked Liz too, when she first discovered that she could do that. It didn’t bother her as much now that she was used to it. It was happening all the time now. She knew who was coming and what they were doing before she saw them. She had to be close to them to be able to do it though. Such as in the next room or across the hall, and they had to be close before she could tell who it was or not but there was always buzzing in her head of who was doing what and who was going where. She had known that Silva was coming before she knocked on the door. That had surprised Maya because Liz could tell that she didn’t believe her.
Anyway, Silva had come to get her because Zan wanted to see her. She walked to the palace with Silva and started walking once again to his room. Their room I should say, Liz thought. She had numbed her heart to the fact that Max was now sleeping with Tess. It bothered her to think about it. In fact, it added another knife of freezing ice to her heart. But she had built up her walls and now all she had to work on was getting them strong enough so that whenever she looked at him her eyes wouldn’t tear up. She knocked on the door and turned around to see that Silva was walking into her own suit. The door opened to see herself standing face to face with Ava. Ava looked at her with raging hatred. Her eyes gleamed like cold steel and Liz could practically see the steam coming from out of her ears. “What do you want. Your disturbing my peace,” Ava said hatefully. Liz wanted to beat the hell out of her but she knew if she did she would probably be sent to her death. Or punished severely.
“Silva said that Zan wanted to see me.”
“That’s King Zan to you, and he’s not here right now. He’s down in the kitchen going over the menu for tonight’s dinner. We’re having guests from all over, in case you care, so if he invites you to dinner as he often does with his favorite servants, you are to behave and wear something....something other than that,” Ava said, looking down at Liz’s dress.
“This is all they gave me, and I don’t think that I would eat dinner with you even if he asked me. I’m tired and I want to get to bed early. Besides, I can’t imagine King Zan asking anyone, especially me, to dinner.”
“If he asks you then you will come. It will be very impolite if you don’t. And he only invites the slaves that he likes the most. Plus, he only does it for appearance.”
“He does a lot of things for just appearance,” Liz said, remembering the conversation that she and Zan had, had about him marrying Ava just for appearance. She tried to hide the smile that appeared on her face.
“What? What are you smiling for?” Ava thought a moment then smiled and said, “You must be thinking about that first time you came to our room. I was awake when you came. I heard everything that he said. But, to tell you the truth it didn’t bother me,” Ava said. That was a lie, though she would never tell Liz or Zan that. “Let me tell you something. I bet you didn’t know that Zan was arranged to be wed to someone else. Her name was Serena. She was supposedly the oracle’s daughter and was the most beautiful person around, well, that is until he married me. Anyway, she and Zan met and they got to know each other and they eventually fell in love. Well, one day when they were walking through the woods, someone came out and kidnapped Serena. And you would of thought that, that stuff only happened on earth.” The moment she said that, she regretted it.
“What is that supposed to mean?” Liz looked at Ava and her eyes had a glazed off look. Like she was lost in her memories. “Tess?”
“Huh,” Ava answered.
“Oh my god! You remember! You know who I am!”
“Ok, fine, you caught. But what of it. I’m here and I have Max, Zan, whoever the hell he is. And there is nothing that you can say or do about it. Even if you run off and tell Zan he won’t believe you. He thinks your pretty and he may like you enough for you to become his mistress but he won’t believe you over me. He may only think of me as just good looks, but he will not believe you if it will ruin his perfect reputation.”
“You know who I am. You know what happened to me,” Liz said, the tears falling down her cheeks now, “You know what he did to me. He kidnapped me. He dragged me almost 15 miles into the desert without any sleep. Only stopping to eat and go to the bathroom. I was fucking scared Max was seriously hurt!”
“You weren’t even with him at the time!” Ava yelled, “I don’t even know why he was going to see you after what you did to him. You fucking betrayed him! Not that I’m complaining, so now he is with me. We are married and he doesn’t have the slightest idea of who you are nor does he remember what you two shared on earth!”
“Then just tell me, how come you remember and they don’t. Or do they?” Liz said quietly. What Tess had said was true. Max didn’t remember her and probably never would. But at least she could find out why Tess remembered her.
“I don’t know why I remember. Nasedo told me that if we ever came back then we probably weren’t strong enough to remember.”
“You talked to Nasedo about it. Was he part of this plan too before he died?” Liz was starting to get angry again.
“No, he wasn’t part of the plan. I wasn’t even part of the plan even though.....”
“Even though what? Do you know where Khivar is? Have you seen him?”
“No, I haven’t seen him. And no, I don’t know where he is. If I did I would have told Zan so we could catch him. I’m sure Zan would love to get his hands on him.”
“Why? Why do they hate each other so much.”
“That is something you will just have to figure out yourself or just forget. I don’t know all the details and even if I did I’m not going to go around and tell you all of our personal business,” Ava said and slammed the door in Liz’s face. Liz’s mind reeled with the new facts that she had learned in the last ten minutes. Ava, Tess, whatever the bitches name was, knew about her. She knew everything that had happened on earth. That hurt but not as much as the fact that Max had loved someone else. Someone he was supposed to have married. Someone he had loved. Liz thought a moment, wondering how the Zan that Tess had described before Serena was taken and the Zan that Khivar had described was the same person. The Zan that Khivar had described was self absorbed and only cared about looks and reputation. Liz had met and seen that Zan. But the Zan that Tess had just described was different. He had to have been different if he admitted that he actually loved her. And Tess had made it sound as if he was really hurt when this happened. That meant that Zan hadn’t always just cared about himself. Liz was interrupted from her thoughts as the door to Zan and Ava’s room opened. Liz just then realized that she hadn’t moved from the spot in front of the door.
“What are you still doing here? Hoping that you and I could be friends and I would tell you all the family secrets.?” Ava had plastered a fake smile on her face. She had also changed clothes and was now wearing a light pink dress that touched the floor. The material was nothing like Liz had ever seen and it appeared as if it was moving, flowing around her body. This dress had a higher neckline and showed less of her cleavage.
“I...Um, I...” Liz was at loss of words. “I was just....thinking. I got lost in my thoughts. Anyway, you said that Za...King Zan was in the kitchen and I was wondering if you could tell me where that was exactly.”
“You stood outside my door for 15 minutes just to ask me where the kitchen was? Why didn’t you just ask Silva, you know where her room is. Or were you to caught up in your thoughts,” Ava said sarcastically.
“Fine, if you’re not going to tell me then I will go and ask someone else. I don’t want to keep your dear husband waiting. I mean, come on, you know what it would do to his reputation if he has unfaithful slaves,” Liz said and turned and walked down the hall. She couldn’t keep the smile from forming on her face. I will never forget the look on her face when I said that, Liz thought. Liz walked through the hall until she came across a large, open, circular room. Liz had to admit that it was a beautiful room even though she didn’t want to like anything in this god-forsaken place. The ceiling was about 75 feet high and it was arched at the top. The most beautiful part of the room was the windows. They reached from the floor to the ceiling, and they continued around the room about every ten feet or so. Liz walked around the room and when she looked out the windows she could see some small little towns and in the woods she could see small houses dotted every couple miles or so. She looked in the direction that Lark had taken her to when Zan and them had first landed. She could see about a dozen small whites house looking things but being so far away and so far up she couldn’t tell if that was just another village of if it was in fact the place that Khivar had first taken her to. If it was, then why was it so hard for Zan to find where they were? Liz continued walking around the gigantic room, stopping and looking out the windows. She hadn’t realized what time it was until she saw that the sun was starting to set. “Damn it! This will make Zan real happy,” Liz muttered to herself and she ran from the room to go find someone to direct her to the kitchen. She found it on her own, however, after just wandering around for about ten minutes she had successfully found the kitchen. It wasn’t as big as the room she was just in, but it was about five times bigger then her kitchen back home. It was practically empty except for a man who was obviously one of the cooks for he was stirring something in a big pot. “What do you want,” he said without looking up.
“King Zan had asked to see me, and I didn’t know where the kitchen was so I’m a little late.”
“He has already started eating. You’re about a hour to late. Though he acted like he was expecting someone. Every time he heard a noise he looked at the door,” he said, finally looking up at her. He stared at her intently and Liz started to feel self-conscious. “You look really familiar. Have we met before?”
“No, we haven’t. Who do I look like?”
“Well, for a minute there, you almost looked like....never mind it’s not possible. What’s your name?”
“Liz.”
“Liz. Hmm. Never heard of you. Are you new?”
“Yes. Ummm, King Zan needed to see me so do you know what time he will be done?”
“No, I’m sorry. They have important guests over and they could be in there for a couple more hours. You could always come back later.”
“Ok, I guess I could come back in a couple hours. I have nothing better to do.” Liz said and started walking back out the door.
“Hey, if you want, you could always come by and we could talk. I don’t much time to get out of here and I would like to know what’s going on outside this kitchen,” he said with a smile, Oh yeah, my name’s Zaron.”
“Ok Zaron, I’ll see if I have enough time tomorrow,” Liz said and for the first time she really looked at him. He was young, probably in his early twenties, and he was very good-looking. He had eyes the strangest shade of green and his chin was strong. He was pale and he had light brown hair. He wasn’t as muscular as Max but he was pleasing to the eyes. Liz was glad to have met someone new. She could use a few friends. All she really talked to was Maya and Silva was just starting to warm up to her. Liz left the kitchen and decided to explore the palace. She hadn’t really seen that much of it. Instead of coming the way she came she walked in the opposite direction. She came across a lot more rooms, though none of captured Liz’s attention as the circular room did. A lot of the doors were closed and she figured that, that’s where the other servant’s slept. After about an hour’s worth of exploring she started to head back to her own room. She got there just as Zan was walking into his room. He turned when he heard her and he asked, “Where have you been? I have been waiting for you all afternoon.” He sounded annoyed.
“I came here and when I came here Tess....”
“Tess, who’s Tess?” Zan interrupted.
“I meant Queen Ava,” Liz said. She had to stop messing up otherwise Zan is going to force her to tell what she really was talking about. “She said that you were in the kitchen going over the menu and I didn’t know where the kitchen was so I wondered around hoping to find someone who could direct me in the right direction. I got lost and when I finally did wonder into the kitchen Zaron said that you were already eating and I didn’t want to interrupt because you had guests over.”
“I don’t want you talking to Zaron. He’s not the kind of person you should be hanging out with.” That annoyed Liz. She was finally starting to make friends and she was already getting lectured about them. It’s almost like home, Liz thought. But it wasn’t anything compared to home. At home Liz wasn’t forced to do hours of cleaning in a room that was already clean. At home she was actually allowed to go outside without having to ask for permission. Also, Max wouldn’t be yelling at her. Well, unless it they were having another one their arguments that were beginning to happen more frequently.
“You have no right to tell me what to do. I can hang out with whoever I want to hang out with.”
“I have no right! I have no right! Don’t you, a mere slave, tell me that I have no right!” Zan yelled. His eyes burned with hatred. Liz immediately regretted her words when she saw his eyes. It was if she had offended him in some way.
“Why can’t I hang with him?”
“Just don’t ok,” Zan’s voice lowered dramatically. When he yelled at her he saw how hurt she got. He didn’t want to hurt her. That was the last thing he wanted to do.
“Were you always like this?” Liz said bravely.
“Like what?”
“So mean and uncaring. It’s like you don’t care about what anything has to say.”
“I don’t care what other people say. They don’t matter. They may think that they’re important but they’re not.”
“You don’t care about what your sister or Rath thinks or says?” Liz knew that she was pushing her luck but she wanted to find out as much as she could.
“I will not answer that. This matter doesn’t involve your concern,” Zan said. He was starting to get angry again. Liz could tell. He was loosing his cool and Liz knew better then to push him to far so she decided to change the subject.
“You called for me earlier. What is it that you wanted?” Liz tried to sound as nice as possible though it was hard to hide the anger that was in her voice.
“You have gotten me all riled up and now I can’t remember what I was going to ask you.”
“Oh.”
“I’m tired. I’m going bed.” And he slammed the door in Liz’s face. That’s the second time that that’s happened today, Liz thought. Damn these people! Liz was even starting to think that about Max also. Zan was being a complete ass to her. But it’s not Max and you know it, a little voice in Liz’s heart told her. But her head wanting to think differently and as always the head wins over the heart. Liz decided that she too, would retire to her room for the night. As soon as Liz’s head hit the pillow she was asleep. Liz had a strange dream that night. She was walking someone through the forest but she couldn’t see his face. All she could feel were his touches. Liz was jerked awake by a strange sensation that was in her hand. when she looked at it there was the strangest color purple coming from her hand. Without thinking, Liz started screaming. Maya, who was just right outside her door, ran in and saw her hand and dropped the tray she was holding. The last time she had seen, or heard of that happening was with Serena.

Part 14

Maya came rushing in the door when she heard Liz’s piercing scream. She was already headed to Liz’s room to give her, her breakfast and to make sure that she was awake. When she entered the room, she took one look at Liz and followed her gaze to where Liz was looking and she dropped the tray that was holding Liz’s breakfast. She had never seen anything like what she was seeing right now. She had only heard rumors of where a light that had come from. Serena. The rumor was, that Serena was the only one who was able to produce a purple light like that. No one knew why that she was the only that could do it. Everyone said though, that it was because she was the most powerful person on the planet of Antar. Everyone thought that it was a male that was supposed to harbor such strong powers but it was Serena that did. A mere female. She was simple girl and she would never use her powers against anyone. If you got hit by her powers than you would most likely die. Even if she was in danger, she would still never use them, unless it was to do practical things. That was what was said when she was kidnapped all those years ago, that she didn’t use her powers to protect herself. Maya looked again at Liz’s hand. She had stopped screaming, but her eyes were wide with shock and terror. Maya remembered when Liz told her that she didn’t have any powers so she could understand her look of shock. But to be scared, she should be happy that she doesn’t have to do everything by hand anymore. After closing the door, Maya went to the bed and sat down beside Liz. She took her hand and lowered it to the bed. “Liz,” she said trying to get Liz’s eyes to meet hers. “I’m going to tell you something, but first you have to tell me everything about yourself. Who your parents are, what part of Antar your from, everything. Ok.” Liz nodding, the tears forming in her eyes. “Where are you from?”
“I’m not from around here,” Liz said shakily, using the words that her and Max had shared when he first told her what he was.
“Where are you form,” Maya asked. There was confusion written all over her face.
“I’m from....I’m from earth.” Liz had known Maya only a week but she felt like she could trust her.
“Earth? That’s not possible. How did you get here?”
“I was outside of my house at night, when someone came up to me. It was Khivar.”
“Khivar, how?”
“He...He took me, took me away from my home, and he brought me here. He had this ship thing, it kind of looked like the granolithe. Anyway, he brought me, to some hideaway village type thing, and he told me that Max, Zan, would make me his slave. He was right. He was right about everything, about and Max and Isabel and Michael not remembering me. Not remembering anything about earth.” Liz started to sob heavily. Now that she had actually said it out loud, the truth hit her like a tone of bricks. She was now starting to realize that she could be stuck here for the rest of her life.
“Max? Michael, Isabel? Who are they?”
“Max is Zan, Isabel is Vilondra, and Michael is Rath. Those were their earth names. Oh, and Tess is Ava.”
“How do you know them? Were you close to them?” Liz then explained everything that had happened up to the night she was captured. Maya listen quietly, not moving as she listened to Liz’s sad story. At first she didn’t believe that it could be true, that she had made it all up, but as she described the way she and Max had used to reminded her of the way Zan had treated Serena. Well, no one knew that he had known her at the time, but that was the way he had acted when he was in love with her. And the way she had described Tess as being a bitch and skank was a perfect description of Ava now. Maya told Liz that even though it seemed like a long time on earth, that they were really only gone for about three years. Zan was only 18 when he became king and he was the same age when he died. Now, he was 21. She explained that after they were cloned and sent to earth, Khivar went into hiding, waiting the day that they would return. Everyone knew that they would return some day, that their genes wouldn’t let them stay away for long. What Liz was saying made sense. Except on thing, “Why does, did Khivar want you? Why did he take you?”
“He had been watching us for sometime and he knew that Max and I were in love. He knew that Max and I would do anything for each other, even if it meant risking our lives for it. So he took me, knowing that Max and them would use the granolithe. He knew that Zan was self-absorbed and would never listen to any of the ideas that other people had for him. Khivar said that if he would have listened then they could have killed him years ago but Zan refused to listen. He thought that once he got them back here, on Antar, then they would fall into their old role, and he would have the chance to kill Zan. He said that they wouldn’t remember earth life, or me. I didn’t believe him at first, but...now I do. Zan is exactly like Khivar said, he only cares about himself.,” Liz said, the tears stopped but Liz felt like she could cry ten oceans.
“He wasn’t always like that,” Maya muttered softly.
“I know, Tess, Ava, told me about Serena.”
“She probably didn’t tell you the whole story though. I never met her, or saw her but she was the most beautiful creature that ever walked on Antar. She was the daughter of the oracle. Oh,” she said when she saw the look of confusion ,” the oracle tells the royals whom their meant to be paired with. She tells us what is in the stars, and who will make a powerful couple ruling Antar. Anyway, she was supposed to be paired up with King Zan. Well, at the time no one knew this, but they had met secretly and had been meeting like for several months before their wedding. They weren’t supposed to meet until the wedding. They spent a lot of time together and they eventually fell in love. They spent so much time together after they had pledged their hearts to one another. While King Zan was supposed to be studying politics, he spent his time sneaking out of the house and seeing her. Rumor has it that she was really powerful and could kill anyone with a flick of the wrist. But she was not that kind of person. She wouldn’t hurt anyone even if it meant saving her own life. She had several physic powers such as reading people’s minds. Whenever she chose to, she could look at the person and could read what they were thinking. She could also...she could also tell when a person was coming without even seeing if they were or not. Like you, and what you did.” Maya looked at Liz, but Liz avoided her eyes. The news that Maya just told her was starting to sink in. It scared her. Scared her to know that she had powers and that she could have some link to Serena. It didn’t make sense though. Liz was born on earth and Serena was born here. There was no possible way that Liz could be somehow linked or related to Serena.
“So what are you saying Maya? That I’m like related to her or linked to her in some way?”
“No. I don’t what I’m saying. I think, that maybe, you should go to Silva. She was Serena’s cousin.”
“Then why does she work for Queen Ava?”
“She fell in love with the wrong person.” Maya said and decided to leave it at that. She didn’t want to make Silva mad at her by going and telling all her personal business to everyone. Liz could sense the fact that Maya wanted to stop talking about Silva and it’s a good thing that they did because Silva was headed towards Liz’s door.
“Silva’s coming.” Liz whispered and Maya quickly got off the bed and waved her hand over the floor where the mess was and stood up just as Silva entered.
“Good morning,” she said with a smile, “You better hurry and get up so that you move along with your chores. Here,” she said as she handed a bag to Liz, “Queen Ava said that you needed some clothes so I brought you some of my old ones. If you need them to be cleaned just bring them to Maya or me and we’ll take care of it.” Silva looked at Liz and the smile left her face immediately. Liz held up her hand to explain to Silva what was bothering them. Liz heard a small gasp before she lowered her hand. “Oh my god,” Silva muttered. “Serena,” Silva then pulled Liz into a tight hug.
“I’m not Serena, Silva,” Liz said, breaking away. She spent the next hour with Maya and Silva explaining the whole thing again. When she was done she took a deep, shuddering breath.
“How is that possible?” Maya asked, restating the question that Liz had asked earlier.
“I don’t know. All I know is that I’m scared as hell.” Liz leaned back on the headboard and wrapped her arms around her legs.
“Does she look like Serena? I never saw her,” Maya asked.
“No. Well, wait a minute, look at her eyes. Look at the muddy red color around the center of her eyes. Serena had that.”
“What muddy red thing? I don’t have a muddy red thing,” Liz said as she got up to look at herself in the mirror. But when she looked at her eyes there was, sure enough, a red ring around her pupil. Something’s happening to me, Liz though, something’s happening to me I don’t even know what it is. “Zan’s coming, you two better act like your doing something other than just sitting there so he doesn’t get mad. I don’s want him mad you on my account.” Liz sat down on the bed and put her glowing hand under the covers. It was brighter then it was before and for some reason, Liz thought that it was because Zan was a couple of feet away from the bedroom room. Silva and Maya stood up and Maya starting putting the clothes that were in the bag, in the closet. Liz jumped at the knock on the door and looked and Silva, her eyes begging her to open the door. Silva did so and Zan came charging in.
“Where the hell have you been?” He yelled at Liz.
“Um...I umm,” Liz stammered.
“It’s my fault,” Maya said, “I wanted to talk to Liz, you know, get to know her, and we lost track of time.”
“What are you doing here?” He said, pointing to Silva.
“Queen Ava asked me to bring some old clothes to Liz. She thought it was an embarrassment to the both of you if she was walking around rags. Well, that was the way she put it.”
“Oh, well, when you’re ready I would like you to come and clean and organize my office. It’s messy and disorganized. After that you can have the rest of the day to do what you want. Except,” he said a little sharper than before, “go and see Zaron. If I find out that you do, or if you meet him anywhere, you will be punished severely.” And with that he left the room.
“Can you make it go away?” Liz asked Silva, holding out her hand. Silva grabbed her hand and clutched it hard. A couple of seconds later, the purple glow disappeared. “Thank you.” Liz turned towards the closet and grabbed a dress. She walked to the bathroom and changed clothes. The dress was as simple as the other one except this one was blue. “Can you please point me in the direction of his office. I don’t want to be late and make him even madder than he is now.”
“Just go straight down the corridor, take a left and it’s the third door on the right,” Maya said.
“Thanks,” Liz said and she walked out the door. When Liz found the office she was glad that Zan wasn’t in there. She really didn’t want to deal with him. It was a large and spacious room and it was, indeed, cluttered. There were papers scattered everywhere and the desk was piled high with all sorts of documents. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleared in years. And it hadn’t. Maya had said, even though it had been 17 years on earth, it had been only three years to them. Liz walked into the office and looked around. It take several days to get this place clean, Liz thought. Liz headed toward the desk when a shuffling noise stopped her. In the corner of the room Liz saw Vilondra looking through some papers that were laying on the floor. When she heard Liz she whipped her head around. “What do you want?” she said, not hiding her anger.
“King Zan told me that I needed to clean his office so that is what I’m doing. You can continue what you were doing.”
“I’ll go, but listen, you never saw me here, got it?!” she yelled, the fury glazing her eyes.
“I won’t.” Liz looked at her as she walked out of the room. Isabel had been the ice princess on earth but here she was a bitch and was full of anger. Liz pushed it out of her mind and stated to clean the room. She worked for hours, cleaning and organizing the room. She didn’t realize how late it was until Zan came into the room and saw that she was still there. “What are you doing here?” he asked.
“Oh, I didn’t realize how late it was. I’ll leave now.” Liz started to leave when Zan grabbed her shoulder and turned her around.
“What’s that?” he asked, looking down at her glowing hand.

Part 15

Ava walked back into her suite and sighed with relief. She was almost caught. Liz already knows that she remembers everything about earth and she doesn’t need her knowing that she is using Vilondra’s face to hide her own. She had been doing it for years and know one has found out and she’s not going to get caught now. She had everyone wrapped around her finger, Zan, Rath, Vilondra, even Khivar, who believed that she was Vilondra. Everyone thought that Khivar was someone who was smart, who could always figure out everything before everyone else. But she had him wrapped, he had always been obsessed with Vilondra but she had no interest for him. Ava, however was in love with him. They knew each other when they were kids, often seeing each other outside or when riding horses, and Ava had secretly given him her heart. But she was never to have him. It was always Vilondra he fancied after, never giving a second thought about Ava. But now, now she had him. She had his love and attention, even though she couldn’t show him her true identity. And she never would either, because she knew that he didn’t love her. He was only with her because of the information she got him and because of the sex. God the sex was good. It was nothing compared to when she was with Zan. Zan was more compassionate, more loving, when Khivar was wild. It was all wild, hot, animal sex with him and she was addicted.
Anyway, she was headed over to him now because Zan was gone and Rath and Vilondra were off doing god knows what. She went to go see him about every two, three days, or if she was lucky every other day. She changed her clothes and put on something a lot more revealing than what she had on. It was a deep red color with a bodice that was trimmed with white lace. However, it was too low and tight, showing off her cleavage well, and you could almost see the dark valley in between her breasts. She grabbed the papers that she had managed to find before Liz interrupted her and she walked out the door. Once again she made her way through the woods and right before she entered the area where Khivar was, she changed her face to Vilondra’s and she walked towards his home. She knocked on the door only once, for that was the sign that it was her so Khivar could tell everyone that they were not to be bothered. Ava looked around before he opened the door and she saw some people she recognized from the palace. Old workers and slaves that had joined Khivar’s side.
When he opened the door he was wearing no shirt and dark black cotton like pants. His hair was messed and it looked as if he had just woken up from a nap.
“Did I wake you?” she asked.
“I was just having a small nap to prepare for your coming,” he said with a small sexy grin and he took her hands and pulled her inside.

Zan stared at Liz’s hand. He was in complete shock. The last time he had seen something like that was when he was with Serena. But it wasn’t possible. Was it? No, how could it be. He was seeing things. He closed his and opened them again. Her hand was still glowing bright purple. If it was some other color he wouldn’t have thought twice about it but Serena was the only one who made a purple color. He must be dreaming. Serena was dead, gone, she was never coming back again. But here he was staring at something that only Serena was able to do. He looked at Liz for the first time since he walked in the room. He stared at her, looking for some resemblance, some familiarity. Their hair was the same color, but Serena's was longer. He raked his eyes up and down her body. Liz stood there, silent, waiting for him to finish.
“I can explain. This is all new to me. It was like that when I woke up this morning,” Liz started, trying to explain. Zan’s eyes drifted to hers and what he saw made he take a step towards her. Her eyes. They were exactly like Serena’s. The red, mixing with the brown. Serena. Without a second thought, he closed the distance in between them and crushed Liz to his body. He placed his mouth on top hers and rubbed his tongue along her bottom lip. Liz, who was too surprised to resist at first, started pushing away. But the passion, the heat that was rushing through her body made her forget all other thoughts and she eagerly opened her mouth, inviting his tongue to duel with hers. His arms wrapped tightly around her waist and her hands snaked their way up to around his neck. A small voice, the logical side of Liz screamed it’s protest. No! Stop! You only lead your way to more pain! But she ignored it as Zan’s tongue started investigating every crevice of her mouth. Memorizing every texture, every taste. Zan continued his assaults on her mouth, even after the flashes started coming. They were all of her, and him. Doing things that he didn’t remember and going places that he had never seen before. They were walking together towards some kind of building and she was upset. She started walking away but she turned around and walked into his arms. Another one where they were laying outside together sleeping, a peaceful look on her face. Them kissing in a closet like room. He pulled back at the last one. He had no memory of these things. Had he imagined them? Did she imagine them? Or were they memories? They seemed more like memories because of what he felt when he saw them. He felt happiness, friendship, love. That scared him. The last time he had been in love was when Serena was around and he had suffered a great loss when she was taken. That had been almost four years ago. He hadn’t felt any love since.
He looked at Liz. She was looking down at the ground but he could still see the tears running down her cheeks. He looked at her again then turned around and walked off. Going to the one place where he could find solace. Something he needed very much. *angel*

Part 16

Liz stood there in shock. She didn’t know what to think about what had just happened. Her and Max.... Zan had just kissed. Well, he kissed her and she had kissed him back. God, why had she kissed him back? She had just opened her heart to the emotions that she had tired so hard for the past week to block out. The walls that she had built around her were slowly crumbling. With every look or thought she had of him another piece fell away. She should have listened to her head. But somewhere deep inside of her she wanted to taste Zan’s mouth on hers again. The kiss that they shared was passionate, heated, yet there was a hint of urgency as if that was to be the last kiss that they ever had. Their previous earth kisses had the passion and heat but never the urgency. Liz put her fingers on her lips which were sill warm from the kiss. Liz shook her head, fighting the tears that threatened to fall. She couldn’t cry now, she wouldn’t let herself. If she ever planned on getting herself off this hellhole of a planet she needed to be strong. And that meant that she would not let herself feel the emotions she felt when she was with Zan. The emotions that she felt now. Liz pushed her feelings aside, where they would have to stay for a very long. They couldn’t kiss again. No matter how much she wanted to.

*****

Ava sighed contentedly as she laid her head against Khivar’s chest. She slowly traced invisible circles on his stomach. He wasn’t as built as Zan but he was so much better in bed. Well, at she thought so. She could feel his hot breath on her forehead and she shut her eyes and breathed in his scent.
“That was new,” Khivar commented.
“Yeah, did you like it?” Ava asked, smiling to herself. She had decided that this night would be about him. But he treated her back, so she got more pleasure than she thought would.
“Oh yeah. It was different but I liked it. We’ll have to try it again sometime.”
“I don’t know if I come here any next week. There’s this new slave girl. And she saw me snooping through Zan’s office. I told her not tell anyone but I don’t know if she’ll hold out. Zan seems to really like her. He’s even considered her being his mistress even though she won’t hear anything of it. She’s very stubborn.” Kihvar was quiet for awhile, lost in deep thought.
“I see. Well, I’ll talk to Zaron. He’ll know what to do. He’ll take care of her.”
“What will he do?”
“That’s none of your damn business! I told that I would take care of it!” Khivar snapped. He didn’t like to yell at her, but sometimes she could get on his nerves with all the questions that she asks.
“Sorry,” Ava said as she stood up and walked to the other side of the room where her clothes had somehow ended up in their hurry to naked a couple of hours age. “We’re having a dinner party tonight,” Ava started shortly, “and all of the royals from all over the planet will be there. It’s to be the biggest event of the year. You could change your identity and come if you want.”
“Rath will be there. You’re engaged to him. Won’t he find it strange that you won’t be able to keep your hands off of me, “ he said with a smile.
“Who says I can’t keep my hands off you,” Ava said. She knew he was only playing but she was mad at him for yelling at her so she decided to get him back. Vilondra didn’t know that she was disguising herself as her. It would be fun to watch Khivar drooling over Vilondra. She wouldn’t know who he was. “ So are you coming?”
“Sure, I’ll come. Who do you want me to be?”
“I don’t know. Just think off someone. When you get there just pull me off to the side and tell me that it’s you. Don’t say your name in case anyone is listening but just somehow let me know.”
“Ok. I guess I’ll see you tonight.”
“Bye,” Ava said with a smile as she walked out the door.

*****

Zan practically ran down the corridors to get to his destination. He was going to the one place where he could find peace. He was going to his favorite room in the palace. It had been Serena’s favorite room, also. He had shown her around the palace once when everyone had gone to some big dinner halfway across the planet. It took three days to get there and three days to get back. Zan didn’t go on a count that he had to study because his tutor was giving him this big exam on politics. To make sure that he knew everything that he had to know before he was to become king. It was scheduled for the week that they left so he stayed behind. He decided that, that would be the perfect time to show Serena the place that she was soon to be living in. He showed her he inside first and when they came to this room she fell in love with it. The room was large and circular and had windows looking out so that you could see everything. Zan stepped into the doorway of the room and walked towards the windows.
He looked out at the woods that he and Serena had first met and had first fell in love in. They had shared everything in those woods. The first time they met, their first kiss..... Zan’s thoughts were interrupted by a soft sobbing noise on the other side of the room. He turned around and saw Ava sitting on a small sofa, her head in her hands. Zan walked up to her and asked her what was wrong. “I’m pregnant! I can’t be pregnant! Not now! We’re not ready, I’m not ready!” Ava wailed, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“How is that possible?” Zan asked calmly. He didn’t know how she could be pregnant because they had taken all of the precautions. Their were things that could be done to prevent this kind of thing. Just like on earth. Wait, on earth? Where had that come from. He didn’t remember anything about earth. He only knows that they were their for a long time. But they’re back now. He shouldn’t be thinking about earth. But he couldn’t help it. It all seemed so familiar now that he thought about it. A part of him missed it. If only he could remember what it is he missed. “We done everything possible to prevent something like this from happening.”
“I don’t know. Maybe there was a slip up. That happens sometimes. I just know that we can’t have this baby,” Ava said with a voice that basically said that they were not going to keep the baby. Zan actually wouldn’t mind having kids. He and Serena had planned to have kids about after a year after they got married and he and Ava have been married for almost two years. “I’ll just get rid off it. Yeah that’s what I’ll do,” she said more to herself then to Zan.
“Ava, it’s not a dog. This isn’t something that you should take lightly. I think that you need to think about. I wouldn’t mind having a baby.”
“Well, I do mind, so I’m not going to think any more about this! I don’t want some baby slowing me and stopping me from the things that I like to do!” Ava started taking offense to what he was saying. She couldn’t help. She and Zan had done all the things that they could do to prevent this from happening. Her and Khivar hadn’t. She knew it was Khivar’s. She knew it the second that she found out that she was pregnant. “Just because Serena wanted kids doesn’t mean that I do! I’m not her and I will never be! I think it’s time that you realize that!” Ava said and she started out of the room.
“That’s not what I meant, Ava. That has nothing to do with what I was talking about!” he yelled after her.

*****

Liz didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t go back to the office. She didn’t ever want to go back there again. It was too painful. She walked around aimlessly until she found herself staring at the door that brought you to the kitchen. The door that stood as her only obstacle to find out the truth about everything. She knew that Maya and Silva had left some things out. She knew that they hadn’t told her the whole truth. She walked through the door. She would get Zaron to tell her everything. He would tell her. He wanted a friend, she’s going to have to trust him if they were going to be friends. And the only way she was going to trust him was if he told her everything she wanted to know. She was going to get the truth once and for all.

Part 17

Liz stood there, eyes wide and feet glued to the floor. Zaron had just told her everything. Well, it wasn’t exactly everything. There was some stuff that she thought that he had kept hidden from her. She thought that it must be for good reason. It must have been painful to tell all about your past and the past of others. And Liz knew that, too. She had to reveal all that had happened to her in the past two years to Maya and Silva and that was so hard that she could hardly spit out the whole story without stopping and crying. She had just learned every detail that Zaron chose to tell her about Serena’s past life.
Serena was the oracles daughter. Since that oracle could not care for her, Serena was given to another family to care for. Since it was known at birth that she and Zan would pair up when he was 18, she was taken in and was brought up being taught to act as a young lady. She was kept away from all men accept those from the family, which included her brother, whose name Zaron did not mention, and her father, Kylon. Her brother knew that she was not related to him and he had such an obsession with her that it almost led to her death. Liz was shocked to hear that. Even though they were not related she couldn’t understand why he would do the things that he did to her. Since she was meant to be paired with Zan, her brother thought that if he hurt her in some way, that he would not want her and Serena could be his. He had placed poison in her drink, which she was amazingly immune too, and he had crippled her horse, which Liz was surprised to find that they have here, so that the next time she rode the horse would fall.
But beside that, Serena had been a free spirit, not be tamed by manners and etiquette. She was indeed, like a wild horse. That was to way Zaron had described her, always sneaking out to go to the forest or to ride her favorite horse, Shad. Tears had poured down Liz’s cheeks, as she listened to the painful story that had shaped Serena’s strong personality to what it was before she was kidnapped. But there was something about Zaron and the way he had looked at her. His eyes were captivating, like when she looked at him the whole world disappeared. She didn’t like it. It was like she was being held prisoner in his eyes by some force that she couldn’t help but like. The same thing happened when she looked at Max but this was like she was forced to.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m just surprised, that’s all. I mean I can’t believe that someone could be so mean and spiteful.”
“Yes, I know what you mean.”
“Why won’t you tell me her brother’s name? Is he alive, is he dead? I want to know why.”
“Well....he is alive, I can tell you that much, but I can’t tell you his name.”
“Okay, sure,. Do you know him, you speak of him as if you do?”
“Yes, in fact we have crossed paths before.”
“Are you friends?”
“What is this, 20 questions?”
“Sorry, I’m just curious.”
“That’s all right. Everyone is curious about some things.” He smiled a smile that lit up his face. Liz looked at him a moment longer and she realized that he never answered her questions. He was a very interesting man indeed. She wanted to learn more about him and she wanted to know why Max...Zan, had forbidden her to see him. She could tell from the way he was looking at her when he said that told her that he thought Zaron was dangerous. She had been around Max enough to know that when he said something he meant it. Liz shrugged of his warning and continued to carry on with a normal, less depressing conversation. After about a half an hour later Liz decided that it was time to retire to her duties as a maid and she left Zaron in deep thought.

*****

What is with all the questions? Zaron thought to himself. She was on to something, to be curious about Serena. He only wished that he knew what it was. Khivar had told him to keep an eye out for her, but he didn’t think that it was this serious. Khivar had told him to do what he did best when it came to women. And that was scaring them into silence. She had seen Vilondra rummaging through Zan’s office and Khivar was worried that she would say something to him. So he had trusted Zaron to take care of it. And he would. The only way he knew how too.

*****

“Have you been staying away from Zaron,” asked Zan. It was the first thing he asked Liz when she walked in the room to clean.
“No, I saw him today. We had a lovely conversation.” Liz was not going to give in and obey him. She was not his slave, whether he thought so or not.
“Why?” Zan asked, trying to keep his temper down. He didn’t want to yell at her and hurt her like he has done so many times before.
“Because it gets boring around here with nothing to do and I wanted someone to talk to.”
“And what exactly did you talk about?”
“And why should I tell you?”
“Because I asked you to,” Zan yelled, his calmness long gone. He moved to stand in front oh her, only inches away, and he looked angrily at her. When she didn’t say anything, he grabbed her wrists and asked her again.
“All right, I’ll tell you if you let go of me,” Liz yelled, her anger just as menacing as Zan’s. “I just asked him some questions about Serena.” Liz finally said.
“Oh,” was all he said before he backed away from her. Liz noticed that his shoulders were slouched a little and there was a sad, defeated look in his eyes. He walked over to his closet and stepped inside, only coming out when he was fully clothed in some sort of horse riding uniform. His shirt wore the royal crest, which Liz was surprised to find that it held the silver handprint and the symbol that was on the orb. “What are you staring at?” Zan asked.
“Oh, nothing, it’s just that those symbols on there look familiar.”
“You’ve never seen them before?”
“No, not before this?”
“Where are you from exactly?” Before Liz could answer, Zan walked over to her and pressed his hand against her stomach.

*Flashback*

“Liz!” A shot was fired through the air as everyone ducked under the tables. He towards Liz and saw her lying on the ground. “Call the ambulance,” he told Maria, before running over to where Liz was. Thick blood was staining her silly outfit and was slowly dripping on the floor. With even thinking Max ripped open her dress and placed his hand over her wound. “Liz, look at me, you have to look at me,” he told her while he started the connection that would change their lives forever. He healed her and poured ketchup over her stomach and he ran out of the restaurant.

*End Flashback*

Zan and Liz were silent. There was nothing to be said. They had both just seen what had happened on that faithful day. Liz pulled back from his hand, which was still resting on her stomach, but Zan wouldn’t let her. He grabbed her arm and kept her from going anywhere.
“What was that Liz?”
“Why did you touch me? Why did you have to touch me?” Liz sobbed.
“I couldn’t help it. I didn’t know what I was doing. What was that Liz?” he asked again. Liz shook her head, unable to speak, the sobs now shaking her entire body. She couldn’t breathe, she felt faint and before she knew her knees gave out and she fell into a world of blackness.

*****

“Liz? Answer me Liz.” Liz shook her head, her eyes still closed tight. She felt warm hands on her face and on her hair, stroking her softly. Slowly, Liz started to open her eyes, but only closing them again due to the bright light. She waited a few moments before she tried again and this time she kept them open. She looked up to see a dark figure standing over her. It was Max, she could see Max! She was home, in her bed, and Max was here with. He had forgiven everything she had done to him! Liz felt like sitting up and rejoicing but that was before reality hit her hard and she realized where she was and why she was here.
“What happened?”
“You fainted. Remember, we were standing here talking and you were crying, and then you fainted.”
“Oh,” Liz answered. She didn’t want to remember what they were talking about. She was going to have to explain what happened and she decided that now was as good as ever.
“Zan, listen about earlier....”she started but she was interrupted by Zan’s greedy lips that were now covering hers, sending shivers of pleasure of and down her spine. She couldn’t help but respond, moving her hand up his arm. His large hands were cupping her face. His tongue slid out of his mouth and pried her mouth open. She twisted in front of him so she could get better access of his mouth. She was thoroughly enjoying his kiss when they were interrupted.
“What the fuck is going on here,” they both heard Ava shout.
