Prolouge:

This vacation's useless
These white pills aren’t kind
I've given a lot of thought on this 13-hour drive
I missed the grinded concrete where we sat past 8 or 9
and slowly finished laughing in the glow of our headlights
I've given a lot of thought to the nights we use to have
The days have come and gone
Our lives went by so fast
I faintly remember breathing on your bedroom floor
Where I laid and told you but you swear you love me more

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight will you think of me?
Will I shake this off pretend its all okay?
That there someone out there who feels just like me
There is

Those notes you wrote me
I've kept them all
I've given a lot of thought of how to write you back this fall
With every single letter in every single word
There will be a hidden message
About a boy that loves a girl

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight will you think of me?
Will I shake this off pretend its all okay?
That there someone out there who feels just like me
There is

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight will you think of me?
Will I shake this off, pretend its all okay?
That there's someone out there who feels just like me

Do you care if I don't know what to say?
Will you sleep tonight will you think of me?
Will I shake this off pretend its all okay?
That there's someone out there who feels just like me
There is

"Elizabth? Are you awake?" Nancy asked frm the front seat.

"Yeah mom. I'm awake." She said. She sat up and looked out the window at the land that passed. Fields of wheat and cows grazing filled her eyes.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Nancy asked.
"Yeah mom like a Monet painting" she said her voice dripping with sarcasm. But her mom missed it and went on staring out the window.

'This better not be what Roswell looks like' she scowled as she watched a baby cow walk beside its mom.
'But then again this is me'

There Is Part 1:

Liz's diary: November 1,2002

After hours of watching cows fly by we finally arrived. Its ok. We live on top of a tacky restraunt that mom and dad now own. I'm actually fearing they might want me to call them Ma and Pa soon though. They act so..... happy. It's disgusting. But whats really disgusting, I miss him. More than any thing I miss him I don't even know why I broke it off, I guess it was the differences. But I miss him so much, more than I'll ever admit. Guess I'll leave before things get to mushy.
~~ Liz

Liz picked up her journal and left the booth she had setteled at going up to her new room. Most of the floor was covered with boxes. Some unpacked other full of her things. But she knew which one she wanted. She pulled the tape off of it. Her hands shaking she reached into the box and pulled out what she wanted.

To any one else it just looked like an old shoe box with a name on top. But to Liz it was a part of her heart. Opening it up she saw what had kept her alive over the last two years. Letters from the only boy friend that ever seemed to cared. The necklace he gave her last Christmas. And hundreds of pictures. Pictures of her half smile, pictures of him smirking his broad smile. Video tapes of her goofing in the car on the way to some of the concerts they had attended. This was what had made her. But what makes you also breaks you. And she was living proof.

"Liz? Honey? Do you want some dinner?" her dad called through the door.

"Um..... No Dad I'm ok." she said trying to sound okay.

"Oh, well alright." he said knowing that she was upset. "Honey bear, it'll be ok."

"Yeah dad. Sure it will." she said tears filling her eyes.

"Well okay if your sure." he said sighing. She held her breath untill she heard his foot steps head down the hall.

Looking at a picture she held in her hand she covered her mouth to muffle a sob. Barely making it over to her bed. She looked at the phone. And at the picture in her hand then back.

'Know don't be weak! Don't!' she thought trying to her stop her hand from going to the phone.

But the urge was to strong. She reached over and grabbed the phone. Dialing his number she waited for him to pick up.

"Hey Shawn."
