Part 1

Kristen was standing in the bronze waiting for Xander when Buffy came back from the bathroom.

“He’s still not here?” Buffy asked curiously.

“Nope. I guess he forgot, again.” Krissy answered, sounding very annoyed.

“Hey girls.” Said Riley and Graham as they came in from behind. “He forgot again huh?” Riley asked as if he already knew the answer.

“Yeah.” Krissy answered looking very depressed.

Buffy pulled on Riley’s arm.

“Dance with me!”

So they went off to dance, but as they walked away Riley lipped something to Graham and looked at Kristen.

“So are waiting for Xander?” Graham asked shyly.

“Yeah. He was supposed to be here an hour ago. I’m starting to think he’s not coming.”

“I’m sure he’ll be here soon. And with a very good explanation.” Graham said, obviously just trying to comfort Krissy.

“With a very good lie you mean!” Krissy said sharply

“Close enough?” Graham said sarcastically.

(“The Hardest Thing” by 98 degrees starts to play)

“Hey, do you wanna dance, you know, while you’re waiting?”

She figured it was a harmless dance to kill time until she killed Xander. Boy was she wrong! Every word in that song showed why they felt for each other. She had somewhere else to be, with someone who loves her, Xander. Graham felt that Krissy was too good for him that she deserved better. It was the hardest thing for both of them to not tell each other how they felt. Especially Krissy, because her heart wasn’t free, she was with Xander. They knew they couldn’t have a happy ending because neither of them was willing to admit their feelings. The chorus played for the 2nd to last time and was at the part where they say “It’s the hardest thing I’ll ever have to do to turn around and walk away pretending I don’t love you.” By that time Krissy was in tears, she stepped away from Graham and ran out of the bronze. They didn’t know Buffy and Riley had been watching them the whole time. They both gave Graham a look of sympathy. They could tell that he was falling in love with Krissy, but he knew that she was with Xander.

As Kristen was walking to Xander’s basement she was crying. She never thought she could love two men at once, but she did. She felt like a horrible person because she is going out with Xander, but she was falling in love with Graham.
