“Liz!” Max called.
She continued to walk without stopping to here what he had to say. Max grabbed her by the arm.
“Let go of me Max. There is nothing left to be said. I slept with Kyle. Deal with it and stop trying to make me feel guilty!” Liz yelled.
“Why did you do it? I thought you loved me. I thought I meant everything to you.”
“It was dumb okay? You’re supposed to be with Tess, so I went back to Kyle. A normal guy. Someone that can give me a normal life. I may still have feelings for you but those too shall pass.” Liz could see all the hurt in Max’s eyes. How could I say that to him? She thought.
“Fine, go be with Kyle, but leave me alone. There is no longer a friendship between you and I.”
Max couldn’t believe he said that. This is the girl of my dreams. Without her I’m nothing Max thought to himself. But it has to be done. If she wants a normal life then friendship can’t happen between us either. Max left and Liz began crying. She ran to Maria’s house.
“Maria! Maria open the door! I know you’re in there!” Liz yelled while pounding on her door.
“What is it? Liz, don’t you realize what time it is? It’s 2:20 in the morning! This better be good because I’m putting me beauty sleep on hold for this.” Maria explained. She saw tears form in Liz’s eyes and began to understand. “Oh sweetie, what happened?”
Liz explained everything that happened between her and Max that night. Everything she told him and his response to her actions. Maria gave Liz a tight hug and told her she could stay at her house.
The next morning at the Crashdown...
“Liz,” Maria called “I’m sorry to do this, but you need to grab the next table. My hands are full.”
Liz wondered why Maria would apologize for this until she saw who the customers were. Michael, Isabel, and Max were at a table. Michael and Isabel were talking while Max looked like he didn’t want to be here. I wonder why she thought.
“What can I get you guys?” Liz asked.
“Isabel and I will have a cherry coke” Michael replied. “Maxwell, what do you want?” He asked. Max didn’t reply so she got him the same thing.
When Liz returned with the drinks Michael and Isabel thanked her.
“I don’t want this.” Max said.
Isabel looked at Liz and noticed a hurt expression on her face.
“Max, don’t be rude. Take the drink. She gave it to you.”
“She can give me a damn drink, but not the truth? Or a good reason why she did what she did to me?” Max yelled back.
Liz began to lose it. How could she cause this much hurt to the one guy that truly loves her?
“Could you excuse us guys? I need to talk to Max alone.”
Isabel and Michael began to leave when Max got up as well.
“I think you should sit and stay Max, try to be grown up about this okay?” Michael told him.
Max sat back down. “What do you want now Liz? To tell me you never did love me? Or maybe you want to tell me how much Kyle means to you?” Liz grabbed Max’s hand and led him to her room.
When she turned around Max could see tears in her eyes. He wanted to tell her he was sorry and that he loved her very much, but decided against it.
“What did you want to tell me?” He asked.
“Look, I can’t go on like this. I need to tell you everything that happened.”
Oh great he thought. Not only does she leave me for Kyle, but she wants to tell me everything that happened too?
“Liz, I don’t really care, and don’t really want to know EVERYTHING that happened.”
Oh God, he thinks I want to tell him what happened between me and Kyle. I need to straighten this up here and now.
“Max, Kyle and I never slept together.”
“The hell you didn’t! I saw you two, in bed, together!” Max interrupted.
Liz began to tell him about future Max and how Michael and Isabel were killed. She told him how she pretended to sleep with Kyle because it was the only way she knew how to make him fall out of love with her. She told him how everything she said to him, about wanting a normal life with a normal guy was all a lie. That no matter what happened she loved him and him alone.
“I don’t believe it. This can’t be true. There is no future me, and I would never tell you to make me fall out of love with you no matter how old I get! Why do you have to keep lying to me Liz? We used to never keep anything from each other. My life was your life, and your life was my life.”

Liz couldn’t take it any more. If he wasn’t going to believe what she said then she would show him just how much he meant to her. She grabbed Max and crushed her lips down on Max’s. She could feel him trying to pull away.
“Don’t. Just let me show you what you need to see. Let me open up to you.”
Max began to kiss back. He didn’t know what he was looking for, but he knew it felt right. He felt a flood of images rushing through his head. He saw the future version of himself telling Liz to make him fall out of love with her. He saw Liz telling Tess how to act to make him come to her. He saw them getting married. He saw how much pain Liz was in doing what she did. And most importantly, he saw Liz and Kyle get into bed together. With their underwear still on. He pulled away from her and stared into her eyes.
“You did all that for us?” He asked.
“Yes, I can’t let anything happen to you guys. You mean everything to me. Michael, Isabel, and most importantly you. You are my world, the love of my life. There will never be another you no matter how hard I look.” Tears started to form in her eyes as Max wiped them away.
“Liz, I’m so sorry for the way I acted. I’m so sorry so calling you a liar and not believing in you. I just didn’t want to imagine my life without you. I love you more than anything and I would die before I let anything happen to you.”
Liz began to cry again. She couldn’t help but think how hard things were going to be now. She did this to get his friendship back, but instead she made him love her even more. Max moved in to kiss her.
“Max, what are you doing? We can’t do this.” Liz said.
“What do you mean? I love you, and you love me. There is nothing standing in our way now.”
“But there is Max. I told you what I did so you wouldn’t hate me anymore. That way we could be friends. Don’t you see? We can never be together. If we are then it will push Tess away.”
“Now would that be so bad?” Max asked.
“Yes it would be! Without her you guys aren’t as strong. Michael and Isabel would die. The world would come crumbling down. I can’t do this. I can’t be the cause of that.” Liz began crying harder then before.
“We will find a way around this. I won’t lose you again. I refuse to lose you again!”
“I’m sorry Max, I can’t do this. My friendship is all I can give you. No matter how hard it is we have to do this. Can you accept that?” Liz asked.
“No I can’t. I will find a way around this. And I will make you see that we can still be together. Like I told you before, I don’t care about my destiny or my planet or anything else all I care about is you so just know this...I am coming for you Liz. Did you think I was playing around? You mean everything to me and I will win you back one way or another.” Max kissed her cheek and left the room.
Why does he have to make things so difficult? She thought to herself. Liz went back downstairs. She totally forgot she left Maria down there doing all of the work.
“Liz, where the hell were you?” Maria asked. “It’s been crazy down here! I’ve been serving so many tables it’s not even funny, and look! Would you look at this? A little kid even through his shake at me! First I lose my beauty sleep, and now I’m covered in an ice-cold pink shake! Things couldn’t get any worse!” Just as she said that the same little boy threw fries at the back of Maria’s head. “That’s it!” Maria yelled. “I’m going to kill that kid!” Maria was about to jump over the counter when Liz stopped her.
“I’ll tell you what Maria, you can go use my shower while I finish up the shift. I mean we only have an hour left anyways.”
As Maria turned and walked away Liz couldn’t help but laugh. My best friend is too much. She thought to herself. As she closed up Maria came walking down the stairs.
“Is that my dress?!” Liz asked Maria.
“Why yes it is, do you like it? I figured with the hell I’ve been through you wouldn’t mind...now would you?”
Liz looked at her and smiled. “I guess you’re right. Well, I’ll see you tomorrow. I think I’m going to head up to bed. I’ve had a long day.”
“Liz!” Maria yelled “Aren’t you going to tell me what happened with Max?”
“I’ll tell you about it later. Not now.” Liz yelled back.
As she turned around Maria smiled and whispered. “Wish I could see the expression that’s going to be on that girl’s face when she walks into her room.”
Liz approached her door very slowly. She couldn’t help but think about Max. As she opened the door Liz screamed.
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:26:41 PM
She saw dozens of red and white roses scattered all over her room. In the middle of her bed was a note. She picked it up and read it.
‘ Liz, you are my one and only.
No matter what happens you and I will be together in the end.
Without your love I am nothing. Hope you like the roses.
Love always and forever,
Tears began to form in Liz’s eyes as she let out a sob.
“Don’t cry.” Max said.
Liz jumped and replied. “Max, you scared me! These are so sweet, thank you!”
Max turned on the radio and grabbed Liz’s hand. “Dance with me.”
They began to dance very slow, and very close. Liz could tell she wasn’t going to last as just friends with Max. How could she even think she’d be able to? He meant way too much to her to just be friends. Max looked down at Liz and smiled.
“Liz,” Max began.
“Don’t speak.” Liz replied. She ran her hands through Max’s silky hair. “I love you Max. Don’t ever leave.”
“I love you too, and I would never be able to leave you.”
He leaned down and kissed her. It was a slow and gentle kiss. Liz opened her mouth and felt Max’s tongue jump onto hers. She gently massaged it with her own and knew she needed more. She lifted Max’s arms and took his shirt off. She kissed her way down to his chest. Max let out a groan. He lifted Liz up and set her down on the bed. He looked at her with such love in his eyes. Liz took off her shirt for him. He smiled and thought about how Liz was opening up for him. He never expected her to act like this. He was loving every moment of it. Max kissed her passionately and moved down to her chest. He slid her bra off and threw it aside. Liz covered herself. She felt embarrassed.
“No need.” Max said, “I don’t know why you would want to cover yourself up. You are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
Liz smiled and pulled him down to her. He began kissing her breast and massaged the other one in his hand. Liz let out a moan. She was eating this up. She began to undo his zipper and took off his jeans. She let out a giggle.
“What?” Max asked.
“Nothing” Liz replied. “I kind of think your boxers are cute!”
He looked down and noticed he was wearing his little green and blue alien ones. Oh my God! He thought. This is so embarrassing! He began to reach for his jeans when Liz stopped him.
“No don’t, I said they were cute. I didn’t mean for you to take it the wrong way. I love them.”
Max smiled and took off the clothes that were still on Liz. He gazed at her. Beautiful, he thought to himself. Liz could feel how much love Max had for her, and she felt the same way. She pealed Max’s boxers off of his body and threw them. She gazed down at him. He is so perfect, she thought to herself. She laid Max down and smiled.
“Liz, what are you up to?”
“Don’t talk, you will see soon enough.”
With that said she moved to the lower half of his body and began licking him up and down. He couldn’t hold it anymore. He began to lose control and grabbed the side of the bed to try and help him remain calm. She simply smiled and covered it completely. She began moving her head up and down. She had no clue what she was doing, but figured she was doing something right if he was losing control like this. Max couldn’t hold it in anymore. He came right then and there. He was worried how Liz would take it. She swallowed and gave him a smile. Okay, who is she and what did she do with the real Liz Parker? He wondered. He never knew she could be like this. He grabbed her and flipped her over.
“Max, I need you. I want you inside me now.”
“Liz, are you sure? I mean there is no turning back once we’re done.” Max warned her.
“I know that. I love you so much and I want you to be the one.” With that said Max begun thrusting into her.
“Max!” Liz yelled over and over again. He went slowly not wanting to hurt her, but she insisted that he went faster. He loved this. He loved the fact that he was sharing this moment here and now with the love of his life. They both reached their climax after ten minutes. Max lay beside her, as she laid her head down upon his chest. They both said “I love you” and sleep fell upon them immediately.
When Max awoke he noticed Liz wasn't there. He got dressed and found a note in the back pocket of his jeans reading
I went for a walk. I needed to get away for a little bit. I will talk to you later.
Max couldn't help but wonder if he did something wrong. He rushed to his car and drove to Maria's.
"Maria, Maria" he yelled. Maria opened the door and realized it was Max.
"Max, don't you realize what time it is? It's 7:30 in the morning! Between you and Liz I will never get my beauty sleep in!"
"Beauty sleep?" Max asked.
"Yeah, beauty sleep. You don't think I wake up looking this sexy without it do you?" Max gave her a look and remembered why he came there in the first place.
"Maria, have you seen Liz?"
"Not since last night, why?" She asked.
"No time to explain, see you later!" Max yelled as he rushed to his car.
Maria shut the door, put her slices of cucumbers over her eyes, and went back to bed.
As Max was driving to Alex's his car came to a screeching halt. There were people gathered everywhere in the middle of the street. He got out of his vehicle and ran to see what happened.
"Oh my god! Call an ambulance." Someone yelled.
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:27:35 PM
Max ran up to see who it was. Oh my god! It’s Liz! She opened her eyes and saw Max.
“M-Max?” She asked.
“Yes, I’m here don’t worry.”
“Stay right there miss, someone is calling an ambulance.” A man stated.
She gave Max a look and said “No, I don’t need an ambulance, I’m fine.” She got up slowly and went to Max.
“Miss, I think you should get checked out...” he began.
Liz turned to him and said “Look, I said I don’t need a damn ambulance and I meant it! Now leave me alone! My ride is here.” Everyone looked at Liz shocked and amazed. Even Max. She walked to the car “Are you coming Max?” She asked.
“Um yeah, be right there.”
He turned around and walked over to the jeep.
“Would you like to tell me what’s going on? I wake up and find this note in my pocket, and then I go out looking for you, only to find you in the middle of the street passed out. Did I do something wrong?” He asked.
Liz looked up at him “No, you did nothing wrong. I’m so sorry if I gave you that idea. Last night was amazing. You mean so much to me. It’s just that when I woke up I couldn’t help but think that I just signed Michael and Isabel’s life away. I guess when I went walking I just passed out from all of these ideas roaming around in my head at once. That’s all.”
Max grabbed her and gave her a big hug. “Don’t ever scare me like that again! For a moment there I thought I lost you. I was so worried.” Liz smiled and they drove home together.
The next afternoon....
I can’t believe this is happening! What am I going to do? Liz thought. I need to get out of here. I can’t face Max and tell him what I found out. How would he take it? Liz packed up a suitcase and went to her car. As she was about to pull out another car pulled up and blocked her in. Damn it! It’s Max. Liz got out of the car and began walking down the street.
“Liz!” Max called.
She didn’t answer or stop.
“Liz, what the hell is going on? Why won’t you talk to me?” Max ran and when he caught up to her he noticed she was crying. “Liz?” He asked puzzled. “Wha-what’s going on?”
Liz had to think of something. “Nothing. Umm, I...I need to get away. I can’t see you right now.”
“Liz? What’s going on? You said I didn’t do anything wrong and now you’re acting like you hate me.”
‘Hate me’ those words hurt. How could he think I hate him? Oh yeah, the way I’m acting she thought. She couldn’t stand the fact of him thinking she hated him, but she couldn’t tell him what was going on either.
“Just don’t make this any harder then it already is okay Max? I’m...I’m going to go stay at...at Kyle’s house for awhile.”
“At Kyle’s house?! So was this just some lie? To get me to sleep with you? Was this a game to you?” Max asked. No reply. “Answer me damn it! No, you know what? Don’t answer me. I’m done! Good-bye Liz. Have fun with Kyle.” He got back in his car and left.
Liz began to cry uncontrollably. Good going Parker. She thought to herself. The plan was to stay away from him for awhile. Not make him hate you again! Liz ran to Maria’s house. She rang the doorbell 10 times until Maria answered the door.
“Liz, what’s wrong?” She asked. Liz walked in and sat down.
“Maria, I did something...said something that I shouldn’t have. I had to get away from max and he asked me where I was going. If I told him I was coming here then he would have followed me, so I told him I was going to Kyle’s. He got upset and asked if this was all a lie to get him to sleep with me...a game. I hurt him so bad. I just needed to get away. I couldn’t tell him the truth. But instead he left hating me.” Liz broke down into tears again.
Maria hugged her. “Babe, I don’t mean to play 20 questions at a time like this but, oh well, here it goes. You’re sleeping with Max? Why did you tell him you were staying with Kyle? Of all people Kyle! And what couldn’t you tell him?”
“Yes I’m sleeping with Max, I already answered your second question and b-because I’m...”
“I’m? Just spit it out Liz.” Maria interrupted.
“Because I’m pregnant with his child okay?”
“You’re.... are you sure?” Maria asked.
“Yes Maria! I don’t wake up and say hey, I think I want to be pregnant today! I went to the doctor.... and I had a vision...well, sort of. In my dreams I saw Max and I together.... in the future. I was in labor and he was by my side. You were delivering the baby because I can’t go to the hospital, I mean half alien here. When he came out a dark cloud filled the sky. All of a sudden this man barges in and smiles at me and Max. Then the dream cut off. I don’t know what’s happening, but I need to figure it out before I run and tell Max about it. I’m going to go sleep. I haven’t gotten much rest. Goodnight.” Liz went to Maria’s couch and laid down.
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:28:11 PM
“Maria! You have to deliver the baby!” Liz yelled out in pain.
“Me? Why me?” She asked.
“Because she can’t go to the hospital, remember that the baby is half alien.” Max replied.
“But why can’t Isabel, Alex, or Michael do it? They are here too!”
“Because Maria, we know you can do it. And have you seen Alex and Michael? They would pass out! And Isabel is helping me. Now just do it!” Max yelled out.
Maria finally gave in, and within 20 minutes she was handing Liz a beautiful baby boy.
“Umm Max?” Alex asked.
“Look around. Once he left Liz’s body the sky started getting very cloudy and stormy.”
All of a sudden the door slammed open to Maria’s house. Thank god her mom was out of town, Maria thought to herself. A tall dark man entered the house and smiled at Max and Liz.
“Glad to see the baby is okay, it would have been a shame if I came here for nothing.” The man stated.
“Who the hell are you and what do you want?” Max yelled.
He had just got finished healing Liz from the pain caused by the labor.
“You mean you don’t know who I am? That hurts.”
He took off the heavy coat and mask and the gang realized that this person before them wasn’t a man! It was a she, and the she was Tess!
“Tess? What do you want?” Maria asked.
“You never were the bright one were you? I’m not one of you, not anymore. I knew these two wouldn’t be able to keep their hands off of each other! I’m you’re wife Max, not her! Can’t you see that? This is, and should be my baby! Not hers.”
Michael tried to use his powers to push Tess aside, but it wasn’t working.
“No use. You’re powers won’t do you any good. I disabled them. So one of us here has powers and the others don’t. How tragic.”
She ran up to Liz and took the baby. As she was pulling away Liz screamed and punched her across the jaw.
“Ouch! You bitch!” Tess yelled. “I’d be careful, next time a move like that could cost you your baby’s life!” Tess turned and ran out of the room.
As Max tried to follow he got pushed back. “Damn it!“ He yelled, “She has a force field over the house which won’t allow us to leave it! It will probably last 24 hours. Just enough time to let her skip town.”
Liz was crying uncontrollably while Max held her in his arms. A loud ‘bang’ occurred, followed by a flash of light. Everyone looked down to escape the brightness of it and when they looked back up they noticed Michael lying there on the ground.
“Michael? Michael!” Maria yelled as she ran up to him. “Oh my god! He doesn’t have a pulse!”
Maria was crying so much. There was a note on his chest. Isabel picked it up and read it
“This is what happens when you try to use your powers on someone that’s stronger then you.”
“Damn it! I can’t heal him either! In here we are powerless!” Max yelled out.
“Liz, Liz, Liz!”
Liz woke up screaming.
“Liz what happened? You were yelling and crying in your sleep. What’s wrong?” Maria asked.
“We need to find Max now! Maria, he won’t talk to me so I need you to do me a favor.”
“Max?” Maria asked.
“This is he, may I ask who’s calling?”
“Max, this is Maria. I have a problem with my car and it won’t start. Could you come over and help me?” She asked.
“Yeah sure, I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” She hung up the phone and told Liz to hide in the other room.
Maria opened the door and invited Max in.
“Why are we in here? I thought you needed help with your car.”
“Max, we need to talk. What’s going on between you and Liz?”
“I don’t know. Not anymore. This is the second time she’s broken my heart. I give up. I’m not strong enough for this anymore.”
“I never meant to brake your heart Max.” Liz replied as she came out of the bedroom.
He looked up at her and began to leave.
“No, stay. We need to talk.”
“I don’t have anything to talk about Liz. Good-bye.”
“Max, if you truly love me, or loved me, then you will let me say what I have to say.”
“Fine, go ahead, I’m listening.” Max replied.
“Max, I never went to Kyle’s house. I came straight here.”
Max cut her off. “So you lied to me?”
“Please let me finish. I went to the doctor. Max, I’m pregnant with your child.”
Max’s face lit up. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I’m positive. I didn’t want to tell you until I had everything figured out. I still don’t, but I hate not being with you. I hate the fact that you were mad at me.” Max gave her a hug.
“Liz, I’m so sorry. I hate not being with you as well. What haven’t you figured out?”
“Well, I had a dream. More like a vision actually. Anyways, it takes place in the future. After Maria delivers our baby a dark cloud takes over the sky. Tess comes in and kidnaps our child. Michael tries to use his powers to stop her, but she disabled them. She was the only one there with any power. You try to follow her, but she has a force field over the house, which prevents you from doing so. After she leaves we hear a bang and see a bright light. Max, Michael is killed! She killed him and has our baby!” Liz began crying. “I just don’t get it. The future you told me that she was important to you guys. That without her the world would pretty much come to an end. If that’s true then why did she kill Michael? Why did she steal our baby?”
“I think I know what’s going on. And it’s not a vision. Come with me. We are going to get this taken care of now! You are pregnant. I could feel it when we touched. But the dream you had. It wasn’t real.”
“Max, what are you talking about?” Liz asked.
“You’ll see, follow me.”
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:29:25 PM
Max took Liz to an old factory.
“Why are we here Max?” Liz questioned.
“Awhile back, when I caught you with Kyle I had the same dream. That I got you pregnant and I was so happy. Until I saw what happened during the labor. I couldn’t figure out what was happening. Then I was drawn to this place somehow and everything was cleared up. Liz, when something really devastating happens this thing places memories in our head to remind us that things could always get worse.”
“Then why did it happen to me Max? I’m not one of you.” Liz asked.
“I think it’s because you and I were joined as one. When that happened it knew you were carrying a part of me. So it wanted to show you, tell you, that things could get worse. It helps us get over things, our problems, quicker. That way we don’t dwell on them.”
“Let’s get out of here.” Liz said. They drove back to Maria’s and knocked on the door.
“You guys! You don’t get it do you? I love you and all but...” Max cut her off
“We know...you need your beauty sleep.”
Liz looked up at Max.
“You mean she told you the same thing too?”
“Told me? More like spelled it out for me.” Liz smiled and gave Max a kiss.
“Maria, do you think that maybe, just maybe, you sleep too much?” Liz asked.
“Liz, I don’t get enough sleep. Between you and Max over here waking me up every night, and listening to Michael’s crap I....” She was cut off.
“Did you say putting up with my crap?” Michael asked while walking out of her bedroom.
Max and Liz looked at each other in shock.
“Michael! I told you to stay in there!” Maria yelled.
“Why? I’m not in trouble, I didn’t do anything wrong! Besides, what if I wanted to say hi to Maxwell and Liz?”
“I think I know why you’re always so tired now!” Liz laughed.
“I think we’re going to go to my house. My parents are out of town so we’ll be fine.” Max stated. He and Liz drove to his house.
“Max, I think I’m just going to head home.”
“Why? Is something wrong?” He asked.
“No nothings wrong. I just haven’t spent much time with my parents, and I don’t want them to think something’s up.” Max drove Liz home and went back to his house. Liz went upstairs and sat down on her bed.
“Liz, baby, you up there?” Sean called.
Liz now remembered why she felt so guilty. Sean climbed up to her window and let himself in.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“Nothing’s wrong, but I did something terrible.” She stated.
“What’s that?” He asked.
“Sean, I cheated on you with Max.”
He looked at her and replied. “That’s all right we can work things out, you don’t plan on staying with him do you?” She liked the way Sean was so understanding.
“No, how could I? I don’t love him. I love you.”

The next morning at the Crashdown Cafe
“Liz how are you?” Max asked as he leaned in for a kiss.
Liz stepped back and replied. “I’m fine, how are you?”
“Liz, what’s going on? Why won’t you let me kiss you? Or touch you for that matter?”
“Because Max, it’s wrong. I’m with Sean. I cheated on him to be with you. He came back into town yesterday. I can’t do this to him anymore. I love him.” Max looked at her with a hurt expression on his face.
“What? What were you doing with me then? Using me? Just out for a good time because your ‘boyfriend’ was out of town?” Max began to get teary eyed and left. How could she do this to me? He thought.
Maria came in and asked what that was all about.
“Max just thinks I’m in love with him.”
“But you are Liz, what’s going on?” Maria asked.
“Nothing’s going on! Why does everybody think that I’m in love with Max Evans?”
“Probably because you are, and have been for the longest time. Liz, read your diary. Do you want that spelled out for you? You l-o-v-e Max.”
“No Maria, I think you’re wrong. I love Sean DeLuca.” Liz said joyfully.
“Sea...Sean DeLuca? Are we talking about the same Sean here?” Maria asked.
“Yes, you should know him pretty well, he is related to you.”
“Um yes, thank you for clearing that up. As if I didn’t know that already.” Maria replied.
“And what’s this about my diary?” Liz asked. She pulled it out and opened it up. “Look, it says right here that I love Sean. And here. And here.”
Maria grabbed her diary and checked it out. She wasn’t lying! How was this possible? Maria thought. She showed this to me just the other day and it was filled with juicy details about Max, not Sean. Something was wrong. She took Liz’s diary and left the Cafe.
At Max’s house 10 minutes later
“Hi Isabel, is Max here?” Maria asked.
“No, he went out to pick up some food. To tell you the truth I’d expect Liz to show up here with another lame excuse as to why she’s been acting the way she has. Not you.”
Isabel invited Maria in and they began talking.
“Isabel, I think something’s wrong with Liz.” Maria began.
“You’re just now noticing?”
“Isabel, I’m serious. One minute she’s telling me how much she loves Max and wants to spend the rest of her life with him. Then the next minute she’s into my disgusting cousin! And what’s weirder? Her diary is changed. Just the other day it was filled with information about your brother. And how much she loves him. Now it talks about Sean. And how they have been dating for a year. It doesn’t add up.”
“Let me see that.” Isabel said while grabbing the diary. “Oh my God! You’re right!”
“And you thought I was lying because?”
“Nothing. We need to tell Max this!” Isabel exclaimed.
“Like he would listen to what I have to say about Liz. He hates her right now.”
“He would if I do the talking. Just trust me.”
“Isabel, I’m home!” Max yelled as he walked through the door.
Isabel and Maria walked into the kitchen and sat down.
“What do you want Maria?” Max asked.
“Well nice to see you too.”
“Well, you guys aren’t exactly my favorite people right now.” Max explained.
“Well thanks, I welcome you into my home anytime of the day and this is how you say hi? I think I’ll just leave and forget what I was going to tell you. Go to hell Max!” Maria yelled as she picked up her stuff and headed for the door.
“Maria, wait. What were you going to tell me?” Max asked.
“Screw it. I’ll help Liz by myself.”
“Now Liz is in trouble? Can’t she ever just stay put?” He asked her.
“Max, you need to hear what I have to say. This is all pissing me off. She is my best friend so don’t give me this crap okay? Now we can do this two ways. One you sit there while I talk and all goes well, or two I kick your ass and talk to you then. Either way you’re hearing what I have to say!” Maria yelled at the top of her lungs.
Max sat down. “Please, continue.”
Maria smiled and grabbed the diary.
“Thanks for letting me do the talking Maria.” Isabel said.
“Anytime!” Maria replied sarcastically.

“Okay, Max I have a lot of stuff to say and not all of it’s going to make sense. Not all of it is going to be stuff you want to hear either. But if you love Liz then you will listen to it all.”
“Why does everyone say that?” Max asked.
“The ‘if you love Liz then you will listen’ thing.”
“Because it’s true. And in this case if I didn’t say that then you might not let me finish.”
With that said Michael walked through the door.
“Get the hell out of here!” Maria yelled.
“Why? It isn’t your house.” Michael shot back.
“Because I have to talk with Max and Isabel alone.”
“Whatever.” Michael replied as he left.
“What was that all about?” Isabel questioned.
“Long story. I will tell you after I tell Max what I need to.” She faces Max. “Now, we all know Liz loves you.” Maria began when she was rudely interrupted.
“She has an odd way of showing it!” Max said as Maria hit him across the face. “Ouch! What was that for?” He yelled out in pain.
“I told you to listen! Now don’t pull that again!” Maria couldn’t believe what she just did but it seemed to work! “Now, Liz has been in love with you for as long as I can remember. She would rather die then live a life without you in it. Then all of a sudden she’s in love with Sean, who she could barely stand. What’s weirder? Her diary was filled with juicy details about you just a week ago. Today it’s filled out with crap about her and Sean and how they’ve been dating for a year now.”
Max took the diary and looked at it.
“You’re right, and that doesn’t make sense. A year ago she and I were still together. We need to find her now.” Max grabbed his car keys. “Maria you come with me. Isabel, you stay here in case anyone comes looking for us.”
Max and Maria drove to the Crashdown where they found Liz waiting for Sean.
“Liz, we need to talk.” Max yelled out to her.
“Sorry guys, I’m waiting for Sean.”
“Liz, please come with us. Sean will understand.” Maria cut in.
“No, I don’t want to! I already cheated on him with this guy and I don’t feel like standing him up right now either.”
Maria looked at Max in disbelief. Liz got up and began dancing to no music.
“What is she doing?” Max asked.
“I have no clue. She’s been acting like a clown since yesterday. She even came to work wearing nothing but her under clothes!”
Max looked at Liz and back at Maria. “So what are we going to do? She won’t come with us.”
“Max I have an idea, but whatever you do don’t get pissed off.”
Before Max could object Maria hit Liz over the head with a frying pan.
“Maria! What the hell was that for?” Max yelled as he ran over to an unconscious Liz.
“Don’t argue. She’s knocked out and will wake up within a few hours. Meanwhile we can take her wherever we want to so we can talk. Did you have a better idea?”
“Well, no I didn’t, but she’s going to kill you when she wakes up.”
“Not when she wakes up. When she comes back to her senses. And when she does you will just explain to her why I did what I did.”
“Me? Why me?” Max asked.
“Because I had to go through with hitting her. I mean if it were someone like Michael then I would have loved it. But it was my best friend. That was harder then hell!” Max saw how agitated Maria was so he agreed.
They drove Liz back to Max’s house. Max carried Liz through the door and Isabel asked what happened.
“Just don’t ever piss this girl off okay?” Max replied pointing to Maria. Michael walked up behind her and gave her a hug.
“Michael! Get the hell away from me!” Maria yelled. When he didn’t move she punched him in the stomach, pushed him outside, and locked the door.
“Max, you put Liz down on the couch and watch her. Maria and I are going to go talk about what the hell just happened.” Isabel stated.
Isabel and Maria walked to the back room.
"Maria sit, explain what's going on. I thought you and Michael were doing fine. What happened?"
"Well, things started going wrong after Liz and Max caught him at my house. When the two left he said we needed to talk. I told him okay, you know, no problem. He then told me that he loves me and everything but was just out for a good time. That what we shared didn't mean anything to him." Maria started crying.
Isabel hugged her and replied. "Maria, you slept with him didn't you?"
Maria nodded her head.
"That's why. Michael has never been in a relationship. He told me how much he loves you. He's just scared of losing you."
"Are...are you sure?" Maria asked.
"Yes Maria, I don't have a hearing problem. The boy is head over heels in love with you."
Maria smiled. "Oh no, and I just treated him like crap in front of everyone too. Would you guys mind if I left?"
"Go ahead. Good luck!" Isabel called off as Maria ran out of the house.
"How is she doing?" Isabel asked Max as she went back up front.
"Fine, I think." Just as he said that Liz began to wake up.

“Where am I? I need to meet Sean.” Liz stated.
“Liz, you won’t be seeing Sean today. We need to talk.” Max replied.
“No! I can’t be late! I have to see him!”
“Liz, what’s going on? Why are you acting like this? So many people have told me that you love me. Why are you doing this?”
“I’m not doing anything! I don’t love you, I love Sean! Where is Sean?!”
“Liz look at me! Look into my eyes. Can’t you see it? Can’t you see how much you mean to me? How much I love you? This is killing me. Liz, without you I am nothing. I have no purpose. You are carrying a part of me, you’re not just you anymore. Our love was cemented. My life is your life and your life is my life.”
Max fell to the floor crying. He couldn’t take it anymore. This was eating him up alive. Liz looked down at him.
All of a sudden thousands of thoughts were racing through her head at a time. She saw Max heal her at the Crashdown. She saw Kyle get shot. She saw Max heal him. She heard Max say ‘I love you’ and saw the night they cemented their love for each other. She saw how she was pregnant with Max’s son. Then she saw Tess. All of a sudden she passed out.
Liz was tied up in a dark room. When the light went on she saw Tess.
“Tess, help me. What’s going on?”
“Liz, you don’t get it do you? You ruined everything for me. Max is MY husband! Not yours. You are carrying his child when it should be mine! I tried everything I could to brake you two up but nothing worked! Then, you finally did something right. You slept with Kyle and pushed Max to me. Then what happens? You tell him, show him, that it was all a lie. That you did it to save the world. He fell in love with you even more if possible. There was nothing else I could do.” She hit Liz across the jaw.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing? Max never loved you. Don’t you see that? He loves me and you can’t stand that. Whatever you can’t have is what you strive for. You don’t love Max. You just want him because you can’t have him!” Liz yelled out.
Tess hit her across the jaw again. Liz had had it. She untangled the ropes around her arms and plunged at Tess. She knocked her over and hit her in the nose.
“You bitch! You broke my nose!” Tess yelled out in pain.
She looked into Liz’s eyes. Liz suddenly fell back unconscious.
“If she wants to play rough then I will too. She is no longer in love with Max Evans, but Sean DeLuca instead. She will have no memory of ever dating him, or being in love with him. Let’s see how poor Max takes that. All I need to do now is change her diary.”
Liz woke up not remembering where she was.
"Max?" She asked. "What am I doing here?"
Max looked at her confused. "Liz, if you want to see Sean that bad then I will take you back to the Crashdown."
"Why would I want to see Sean? And why do you look like you've been crying? What's wrong?"
"Liz, why do you keep doing this? Get out."
"What?" She asked confused.
"I said get out. I can't take this anymore." He turned and left the room.
Liz got teary eyed and ran out of the house.
"Max! Get in here now!" Isabel yelled.
"What's going on?" He asked agitated.
"Liz seemed different...again...she seemed to care that you were crying. So I picked up her diary again and everything's back to normal. It's back to saying how much you mean to her and how she can't believe she's pregnant with your child."
Max grabbed the diary and looked at it.
"Can't anything make sense anymore? I'm going to go find Liz. Bye!" Max hollered as he ran outside.

He drove to Liz’s house and climbed up to her balcony. He saw Liz crying against the wall.
“Liz, are you okay?”
She looked up and saw him.
“No Max, I’m not okay. I don’t know what I did to get you so mad at me.”
He walked over and gave her a hug.
“You don’t remember telling me you love Sean do you?”
“Me love Sean? Eww gross. No, I would never say that to you. But I think I know who would.”
Max looked at her with a puzzled look.
“What are you talking about Liz?”
“Well, after your speech about how much you love me, and how much I mean to you I passed out. I was taken to a place where Tess had me tied up. She told me I ruined everything and that you were her husband. Not mine. She hit me and I broke her nose. But then I believe she mind warped me because I couldn’t remember anything after that. You have to believe me Max. I need you to believe me.”
He looked at her with such love in his eyes.
“Of course I believe you. It just hurt so much thinking that I lost your love.”
Liz kissed him.
“You will always have my heart Max. Know that. Now lets get out of here.” They walked to Max’s car and got in.
Isabel was cleaning the kitchen counter when she heard her front door slam open.
“Max?” She yelled out. No answer. “Max? Is that you?”
“It’s not Max.” A voice called out to her.
She looked over by the door and screamed when she saw Alex standing there.
“This is just a dream!” She reminded herself.
“No Isabel, it’s not a dream.” He took a step closer to her as she took a step back.
“Then who the hell are you?” She asked.
“It’s me. Alex Whitman.”
“No! Stop saying that! Alex died a month ago. Who or what are you?”
“Isabel. It’s me I swear. Please let me explain what’s going on.”
Isabel didn’t know what to do, but something told her he was telling the truth.
“Go ahead. Explain.”
“After I decoded the book I learned the truth. Tess found out what I knew and mind warped me. She sent me to California with a false memory. I was a painter. Not a very famous one at that. Anyways, I came back to my senses and realized what she did. The body that you guys buried was Nasedo’s. She told him that he needed to make one last visit as me. When he agreed and transformed himself to look like me she killed him. You know, no one will believe your dead without a body.”
Isabel looked at him and asked. “What was the truth?”
Alex and Isabel sat down so he could explain everything
Michael heard a knock at the door.
“It’s unlocked!” He yelled thinking it was Max.
“Michael, can we talk?” Maria asked.
“What do you want? I’m not in the mood to be hit or yelled at any more.”
“Michael, please. Isabel told me everything, and I love you too.”
Michael looked down.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I was just out for a good time.”
Maria began to turn away.
“Fine, if you want to play this game then fine by me. But I won’t have any part in it. Once I leave this room we’re over with. I won’t see you any more, and you won’t see me any more.”
“Wait!” He called out as she began to leave. “Don’t go.”
“Why?” She asked.
“Because...Because I love you Maria. I didn’t want to admit it, but I am. You mean so much to me. I didn’t want to continue this because one day I will have to go home. I may not want to, but I’ll have to. And I didn’t want to get hurt. Even more, I didn’t want to hurt you.”
Maria looked at him with tears in her eyes.
“Michael, I know you will have to go home someday. I knew that since the day we met, but I love you. And I can’t sit here and pretend that I don’t. Now, do you want to pretend like none of this happened. Or do you want to have what Max and Liz have?”
Michael looked up at her and smiled.
“I think you know the answer. Let’s go thank Isabel for telling you what she did.” The two left his house and headed to Max’s.
“Isabel” Alex interrupted her thoughts. “Everything I told you...everything that I decoded can’t be told to anyone. Not Max, Liz, not anyone. I need time to work some things out. When I do I will show myself to everyone else. You can’t mention this. I know it’s a lot to ask, but please do it for me. I love you and felt that you should hear what I had to say.”
Isabel smiled and kissed Alex on the cheek.
“Your secret’s safe with me.”
She heard someone approaching the house.
“Alex, you need to go. Someone is here. You can go out the back. Be careful.”
Alex went down the hall and disappeared.
“Isabel!” Max hollered. “Liz and I are here.”
Just as he said that someone added, “So are Maria and Michael.”
He turned around to see the two smiling.
“Did anyone show up while we were gone?” He asked.
Isabel looked up and replied. “Nope, no one. Just Alex....” She trailed off remembering what he told her.
Liz, Maria, Max, and Michael looked up at her.
“Alex!?” Liz questioned. “Wha...what about Alex?”
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:32:33 PM
Isabel thought for a moment before speaking a word. “Nothing, I was just thinking of Alex again and his name popped out.”
“Isabel, I don’t believe you! What are you hiding? If you know something about his death then you need to tell Maria and I! He was our best friend!” Liz shouted across the room.
“Liz, I can’t say anything. Just trust me on this. Please!”
Alex was standing outside of the house listening to everything that was happening. He was glad that Isabel kept her promise, but also felt bad for putting all of this on her shoulders.
“Liz, please calm down.”
When Liz turned around to see who said that she screamed at the top of her lungs.
“Maria! Maria! Do you see what I see? Does that guy look like Alex?”
Maria was in a panic as well.
“Yes it does look like Alex! B...but he’s dead! Who the hell are you? And why do you look like Alex?” Maria demanded to know.
“Maybe he’s a shape shifter.” Michael replied.
He raised his hand towards Alex.
“No!” Isabel shouted. “It really is Alex. Let him explain things before making a huge mistake.”
“Liz, Maria, and the rest of you have to hear something very important. What I’m about to say is going to change everything. Awhile ago I was working on decoding your book. Well, I succeeded. The bad news is it wasn’t the best news in the world and Tess found out what I knew. She mind-warped me so I wouldn’t tell any of you guys. She sent me off to California as a painter and I got my mind back a week ago. The body that you guys buried wasn’t mine, as a matter of fact the pictures of me in Sweden weren’t me as well. They were Nadedo. Tess killed him when he was still using my appearance so you guys would believe I died.”
“This doesn’t make sense...but I do believe you Alex.” Liz began.
“But how do you know it’s really him?” Max questioned.
“Because he, Maria, and I have been best friends forever. I can see in his eyes. It’s really him.”
Max looked down at her and smiled. He was happy for her that she didn’t lose her best friend after all.
“Wait, Alex. Didn’t you say you found out what the book said? And that Tess didn’t want you telling us?” Michael asked.
“Yes I did.” He replied.
“Then what was so important that she wanted it kept from us?” Max asked looking a little worried.
“Well, you guys better all sit for this.”
They did what he told them to.
“The information I found out has more to do with Maria, Liz and I than any of you.”
“Me, you, and Maria? This makes no sense! Why would we be in that book? We aren’t one of them!” Liz was getting worried and she knew Max was too.
“Liz, let me finish before we play a guessing game here. Tess was never meant to be with Max. She is not his destiny and was never his wife. You are Liz! You and Max were so in love. You guys got married and had a baby together. A healthy son. Back on Antar Tess killed you so she could be with Max. You see, she never was one of you. She wanted to take over. Maria was always destined to be with Michael and I with Isabel. Like now, we were your best friends. We too were killed by Tess. Max’s mother sent us to Earth a year before the others. Hoping that we wouldn’t be raised together. That way if Tess ever found her way to one group then she wouldn’t have everyone. We were found at a young age. Maybe two, maybe younger. We were then adopted into the families that we are living with now. It was quite strange that we all seemed to fall in love with each other all over again. You know, together as it used to be. That is why you and Max have such a strong connection. That’s why you get visions without needing to dig deep into his soul.”
Maria was in total shock as Liz was crying heavily on Max’s shoulder.
“I’m not adopted! I know I’m not adopted. This is all a lie! You’re just confused!” Liz yelled at Alex.
“Liz, I’m your best friend and I would never lie to you. If you don’t believe me then please go ask your parents to see your birth certificate.”
Liz grabbed Max’s hand and led him to the door.
“Liz, where are we going?” He asked.
“To see my parents. I need to know the truth.”
They got into his car and drove off.
“Mom! Dad!” Liz called out as she walked in her house.
“Yes dear, what is it?” Nancy asked her daughter.
“I have a question mom, can I see my birth certificate?”
“Sure Liz, but tomorrow. I have to finish cleaning.”
“No mom! Not tomorrow! Today! Do you not want to show me because I’m not really your daughter?” Liz couldn’t believe she just said that, but she wanted to know the truth, and she wanted to know it now.
“Honey, what are you talking about? Of course you’re my daughter.” Nancy tried explaining.
“No I’m not! Just say it mom! I’m adopted.”
Nancy looked at Max who was staring at the ground and back at her daughter.
“How did you know that you were adopted?”
“So I am adopted! Alex was right!”
“How did Alex know? We never told anyone.”
“Forget it mom! I’m out of here! Tell Jeff I said bye.”
Liz turned and ran out of the house.
“Max, please try and calm her down. We may not be her birth parents, but we love her very much.”
Max looked at her.
“I’ll try.” Was all he could say before he heard a blood-startling scream come from Liz outside.
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:33:02 PM
Max ran out to see what was wrong with Liz. She sat across the street on a rusty old bench.
“Liz, what’s wrong? Why did you scream?” He asked her wondering if everything was okay.
“Max, you heard exactly what I did. I’m not Elizabeth Parker...daughter of Nancy and Jeff Parker. I don’t belong here on this earth. I’ve been living a lie...my life isn’t real.”
Max looked hurt. He knew that this was all new for her, but was it really that bad that she was one of them? That she was his true wife? He didn’t know what to tell her, and felt that this was all his fault.
“Liz, I need to go home. I’ll see you later okay?”
He got up and left her sitting there by herself. Liz knew something was up, and that he wasn’t going home. She knew him better then that, and knew exactly where to find him. Max went over to Michael’s house to try and figure everything out.
“Maxwell! What are you doing here?” He asked as he opened the door.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave if you two are busy.” Max replied as he saw Maria walk up to the door.
“No, please stay. What’s wrong?” Maria asked concerned.
She knew about everything, but saw it differently then Liz did. She saw it as a perfect way for her and Michael to be together and she didn’t want anything more then that. They heard a knock at the door.
“Michael, if it’s Liz then I’m not here!” Max told him as he ran to the back room.
“Liz, what’s up?” Michael asked as he answered the door.
“I need to speak with Max.” She told him looking at him straight in the eye.
“He’s not here, maybe he’s at his house.” Michael replied as he went to shut the door.
“Stop! I have a connection with him believe it or not, and I know him better then anyone. Now where is he?“ She demanded.
“He’s in the back Liz.” Maria cut in.
She couldn’t lie to her best friend and didn’t want to either. Liz took off towards the back of the house.
“Max? What’s going on? Why did you leave?” Liz asked as she sat next to him on the bed.
“Liz, I don’t think we should see each other anymore.”
Liz looked at Max, who at the time had his head buried in his hands.
“Max, I know you don’t mean that. I know you love me with all your heart. You always have, and always will. So why are you saying this?”
He looked up at her with unshed tears in his eyes.
“Yes, I do love you with all my heart, and I know you loved me...but do you still feel like that now that you found out what you are? This is all my fault! If you and I were never together to begin with then your life would have been going great right now. You wouldn’t be pregnant, and you wouldn’t have known that you were an alien. It was fine when I was the alien and you were a human, and I know this is hard...and weird for you. I’m so sorry....”
He was cut off when Liz put her finger over his lips.
“Max, listen to me. Don’t you ever say ‘loved’ you. Yes I did love you, and I still do. If it weren’t for you then I would be dead right now...remember? And I find it to be an honor carrying your child. Nothing could ever make me happier. I got to create something with the man I love. The man I want to spend the rest of my life with. Yes, finding out I was one of you caught me off guard, but it too is great. Don’t you get it? That means future Max wasn’t real. That you and I are really meant to be together. Things couldn’t be any better.” Liz was now sobbing as she spilled her heart out.
Max looked up at her. He can see why he was so in love with her. Max grabbed Liz and crushed his mouth down on hers. Liz deepened the kiss as she wondered what was going to happen next.
“I don’t know.” Max said out loud as he pulled away from Liz.
“You don’t know what, Max?”
“What’s going to happen next. I don’t know, but I do know that it will be you and me together.” Liz smiled. She loved the way Max could read her mind, and the way she could read his.
“Max, Liz!” Michael yelled from the front room.
Max and Liz rushed to where Michael and Maria were.
“What’s going on?” Max asked as he saw Tess on the floor with blood running down her face.
“I don’t know! I opened the door to a strange noise and saw her gasping for air!” Liz couldn’t speak.
At the moment she had so many thoughts racing through her head. Tess Mind-warping her, Tess mind-warping Alex, and Tess not being Max’s destiny. Then she saw something she‘s never seen before. She was taken into a deep thought, a flash that she’s never seen before.
“You’ve ruined everything Sandra! I’m supposed to marry Zan, not you! I was supposed to be one of the royal four, but instead he fell in love with you. You’re nobody!”
Liz was getting confused. What was she seeing, and why was she seeing this? It had nothing to do with her.
“Ava stop it! You’ve put on this good-girl act for far to long! We all know you don’t care about Zan, you just want power over people! I love him, and I won’t let you get in the way of that!”
Ava nodded her head and Sandra fell to the ground. A tall skinny man stepped away and cleaned off his bloody knife.
“With the poison I used, she’ll be dead in minutes.” He said as he left the seen.
Oh my god! Liz thought. That’s me! I’m Sandra!

“Max, stop!” She yelled.
“What? What’s wrong?” He asked as he turned to face her.
“Get away from her everyone! She’s not on the same side that we are on! She’s with Khivar! She killed me in our past life. I know this is all sounding really crazy, but you have to believe me Max!”
He looked at her and saw the fear she had inside of her, and he knew she was telling the truth. “She’s right you guys, get away from her!” Max yelled as he held Liz in his arms.
Tess looked up and smiled. “Damn, I got drenched in corn syrup and food coloring for nothing then! Oh well, I can just go with plan B...kill one of you before I leave.” She held up her hand at the other four, and a bright red light emerged from it.
“No!” Liz screamed as she stepped in front of them all. Max tried to pull her back, but Liz wouldn’t budge. She put her hand up towards Tess’s and a baby blue light surrounded them. Michael, Maria, and Max looked at Liz with a blank expression on their face. They didn’t know what was going on, but they did know that her powers were strong. Stronger then any of theirs.
Tess flew back against a wall and looked up at Liz in horror. “What? How do you have powers? You...you were a nobody, you can’t have powers!”
Liz stepped out of the force field, “I guess my mother-in-law knew what a cold hearted bitch you were and decided to give me a helping hand!”
Tess got up and ran out the door.
“Uh, Liz?” Max asked, “What just happened? And since when have you cussed?”
“I don’t know what just happened Max, I just got a feeling and went with it. Oh, and I started cussing when some blonde slut tried to kill my friends and the one guy that means the world to me. I lost you once, and I don’t want to lose you again. I won’t lose you again.” Liz replied.
Max smiled and gave her a hug. “Let me take you home. We can talk about this tomorrow.” Max said as he grabbed her hand.
2 hours later in Liz’s room.
“Liz, I’m so glad you decided to come home!” Nancy and Jeff said with excitement. “We’ll let you get some rest, we can talk tomorrow. Is that okay with you?” They asked worriedly.
“Yes, that’s fine.” She replied.
Nancy and Jeff Parker left her room, and Liz walked over to her bed. All of a sudden a hand wrapped around her and she fell unconscious.
“Wake up sleepy head!” Tess yelled with anger.
Liz slowly opened her eyes and couldn’t move. She looked around and noticed that she was tied down to hospital bed. “What’s going on?” She asked franticly.
“Well, you kind of blew my cover and ruined any chance I ever had with Max...” Tess was cut off by Liz.
“Chance of getting with Max? You never had a chance Tess! He loved me in our past life, and he loves me now! Don’t you see that?”
“Quiet!” Tess yelled as she cut Liz in the stomach with a sharp knife. Liz yelled out in pain and hoped that her baby would be okay. “Every time you act up something will happen to you! Even then, every time I need a little excitement I‘ll find something fun to do to you.” Tess said with a smile across her face. Liz’s white shirt was now soaked with blood. “Now, are you going to cooperate?” Tess asked impatiently. “Will you leave this area without Max, or do I need to help you decide?” She questioned.
“Go to hell Tess, I’m not leaving no matter what you do!”
Tess smiled “Bring me the needle!” She yelled to one of her servants. He took a long needle out of flames and handed it to her. “This should be fun.” Tess said as she brought the needle closer to Liz’s skin.
“Max, listen to me. I’m weak and can’t explain much in the time that I have. Tess kidnapped me and took me to that abandoned factory that was in our dream. She’s torturing me and I don’t know how much more I can take. Please Max, help me. If I don’t last until you get here then please know that I love you and always will.” The image of Liz slowly faded away.
*End of dream*
“Liz!” Max screamed as he jumped out of bed. What the hell just happened? He thought to himself. He quickly dressed, and headed over to Michael’s.
“What the hell are you saying Maxwell?” Michael asked as Max explained everything to him.
“I’m saying we need to drive 278 miles out of Roswell and save Liz.” He replied.
Michael looked at him dumbfounded and just had to ask, “How do you know she’s even there?”
“Because she dream walked me in a way. Just trust me, I need your help!” The two quickly jumped in the jeep and took off.
“Liz, are you going to cooperate yet? As much fun as torturing you is, I‘m starting to get tired! All of this blood is driving me crazy!”.
“I’d rather die then live a life without Max. No torture could ever be worse then that!”
“Really?” Tess asked. “We’ll see about that. How will you and poor Max deal with the loss of your child? I mean after all, you are going into labor. Didn‘t you know? We are only pregnant for a few weeks.”
Liz passed out as Tess injected her with Valium.
“Liz!” Max yelled as he ran into the old factory. “Liz! Where are you?” He stopped and concentrated on her. “Michael, follow me. I know where she is.”
Max and Michael barged into a room, only to find Liz passed out on a hospital bed. “Grab her!” Michael yelled to Max. He did, and they began to leave.
“Wait!” Max yelled. “Where’s Tess? We need to deal with her.”
“Not now Maxwell! Deal with her later, look at Liz, she’s dying! If you don’t save her now, then there won’t be any chance later.” The two put Liz in the car and drove off.
An hour later at Michael’s
Isabel, Alex, Maria, Michael, and Max were all gathered around Liz. Max was very weak from healing her, although she was still unconscious.
“Now, what the hell happened?” Maria asked Max.
He began to tell the others what had happened. He started at the very beginning so Alex knew everything that was going on. He, after all, knew more information then any of them did at this moment.
“Don’t worry about Liz.” Alex finally said.
“Don’t worry about Liz? What the hell’s wrong with you?” Max yelled.
“She will be fine. Tess won’t come near us. You see Tess is the strongest of you four, but Liz is the most powerful. I don’t quite understand why yet, and I’m still trying to figure it all out. When the six of us combine our powers we are unstoppable, but there is just one problem. We, as in Maria, Liz, and I haven’t been able to unlock our powers. Liz obviously found a way to unleash hers, but Maria and I have yet to. That is something that the three of us are going to have to work on when Liz is able to.”
Liz’s eyes fluttered open and everyone left Max to be alone with her. “Liz, are you okay baby?” Max questioned. Liz got up and went to the bathroom. She didn’t respond, nor glance at Max. He went up to her bathroom door, but it was locked. “Liz, what’s going on?” He asked. When she didn’t respond again he placed his hand over the door and unlocked it. He found Liz crying in the bathtub. “Liz!” He yelled as he ran up to her. “It’s okay, I’m here. Nothing will happen to you.” She pulled away from him and glanced into his eyes.
“Everything is not okay Max! You saved me yes, but what about our baby?” Liz fell to the floor sobbing.
“Liz, what are you talking about? The baby will be just fine.” Max reassured her.
“No, the baby won’t be fine Max! The baby won’t be fine, because he’s not with us!”
“He’s not with us? What are you talking about Liz?” He questioned.
“Tess has our baby! I went into labor, and she took our child!” Liz yelled in between sobs.

Max was speechless. What could he say to make her feel any better? What could he say to make himself feel any better? This was his baby boy, and he was gone. Liz and his child were the two things that meant the world to him, and he pretty much lost them both. His son was kidnapped, and Liz was a wreck. He hated seeing her like this. “Liz, I will get our son back. Please trust me. I wouldn’t let anything happen to you or him.“ Max said trying to calm things down a bit. No matter how much he hurt inside he had to stay strong. For Liz.
“Max, I don’t doubt you. I know you’d be able to rescue our son, but I’m scared. What if you get hurt in the process? Or what if you get killed? I can’t live without you.”
Max cupped her cheek in his hand and replied “nothing will happen to me Liz. You give me the strength and the will to do anything. I love you.” Max leaned in and kissed Liz. All of a sudden flashes filled his mind.
* Flash *
“Chance of getting with Max? You never had a chance Tess! He loved me in our past life, and he loves me now! Don’t you see that?”
* Flash *
Liz getting stabbed with a knife.

* Flash *
* End Flash *
Max pulled away from Liz and a tear fell down his face. “Oh my god Liz, I’m so sorry!”
“What Max? What’s wrong?” She questioned.
“I...I saw what Tess did to you. It’s all because of me! She wanted you to leave me alone. When you refused she hurt you. Liz, I’m so sorry.” Max began to cry.
“Max. Please don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault. I could have caved in, but I didn’t. Don’t you see? I’d rather die then live without you. I meant what I said. No torture could be worse then living a life without you.”
“But Liz, this is a worse torture. Because of this our child is gone.”
“No, this is not a worse torture. We can get our son back. I have faith in you. But if I was to leave then you would be gone forever. No getting you back. So you see, losing you would mean losing everything. And I don’t think I’d be able to live through that.” Liz smiled and gave Max a hug. “Now let’s go see how the others can help us.”
Max took Liz’s hand, and together they walked into the front room.
“Liz! Are you okay?” Maria asked as she ran and hugged her.
“Yes, I’m fine. But we have a bigger problem then me being hurt. Alex, Max filled me in on the information. When can we start?” Liz asked.
“Start what?” Alex asked confused.
“Start working on our powers. We need to be ready as soon as possible. I won’t allow that bitch to keep my son much longer.”
“We can start right now. Liz, Maria, and I will stay here at Michael’s, while the other three try and progress their powers into much more.”
“What?” Isabel asked confused.
“Go to the pod chambers. I left a page for you guys to read. It talks about all of the powers you guys should have, and how to build them up.”
“What?!” Isabel asked still confused.
“It’s really hard to explain, and what I said probably made no sense at all. Just go there and read what I left. Things will be explained much more clearly. Meet back here in four hours. If you guys aren’t ready by then, then we’re screwed.”

Max, Isabel, and Michael all left the house.
“Okay Maria, put on a pot of coffee.” Alex told her.
“Oh, is this part of the training? Will this help me find my powers?” She asked eagerly.
“What?!” Alex asked laughing. “No, this is for energy. You know how coffee has caffeine right? Well we’re going to need lots of it to make it through the night.”
Liz smiled as Maria made a pot of coffee.
“Okay, first things first. Liz, how did you discover your power the other night?” Alex asked impatiently.
“Well,” Liz began “I thought about my loved ones being injured and it just came to me.”
“That’s it! We all have a memory or thought that enables our powers. Liz’s was the thought of you guys being killed. Now Maria and I need to do the same thing.”
“And how are we supposed to do that with the time that we have? This could take years!” Maria shouted.
“No Maria. It won’t take years. It’s just the memories we have since we met our other halves. You need to think about things that have to do with Michael, and I with Isabel.” Alex turned and got a coffee mug. “Here, try and push this cup off of the table.” He commanded her. Maria walked over and pushed the cup off the table as he said. “Maria!” He yelled.
“What? I did as you said! I pushed the mug off of the table! Why are you yelling at me?” She questioned.
“Okay, I guess it’s my fault. I should have explained myself a little better. Here,” He said as he set another mug down on the table “Try it again. Only this time, do it without touching the mug.”
Maria stared at the mug for five minutes. When nothing happened she decided to speak up. “Alex? This isn’t working!” She yelled.
“Think about something dramatic that happened between you and Michael. Or a time when he was all you thought about, and didn’t care what would happen as long as he came out of it okay.” Alex commanded her.
Maria thought long and hard and memories began to flood her mind. She saw when Michael was sick and dying. The long night when she comforted him in her bedroom. The night when they cemented their love, and then when he told her he was just out for a good time. Her thoughts were quickly ended when she heard glass shatter.
“You did it!” Alex yelled. “You unleashed your powers!”
Maria looked down and saw the broken coffee mug on the kitchen floor.
“I did!” Maria yelled. “But now what?”
“Well, you and Liz finished the hard task. Now it’s my turn to do the same.”
Alex began to remember the times between him and Isabel and suddenly it happened.
“Alex?! What are you doing here?” He heard someone ask.
He looked around and noticed Max, Michael, and Isabel standing in front of him.
“You guys aren’t supposed to be back here until 4 tonight! What’s going on?” Alex yelled.
“Alex, calm down. You teleported here. We didn’t move. See? You’re in the pod chamber.” Max re-informed him. “ Now why don’t you tell me what happened. Is something wrong back home?”
“No, nothing is wrong. We were unleashing our powers. I guess I figured out how to teleport myself. Although I don’t see how this power will be of any help. How are you guys doing?”
“Well, we’re getting nowhere fast. Does that count as anything?” Michael asked. “Give us some more time. I mean we just got here 10 minutes ago.”
“Oh yeah, I knew that. Well I guess I’ll get back to Maria and Liz now. See you guys later.” Alex closed his eyes, concentrated on Michael’s house, and opened his eyes again.
“Alex! What happened? Where did you go?” Maria asked in a panic.
“I teleported myself to the pod chamber.”
“What? How did you do that? And how did you get back?” Liz cut in.
“I thought about Isabel, and I guess it took me to where she was. It’s one of our powers. I’ll never need a car again.” Alex said with a smile.
“Shut up. So what’s next?” Liz asked while laughing.
“Well, we’ve got it down.”
“What?!” Maria asked.
“We needed to learn how to unleash our powers. The rest is already a part of us. Deep in your mind you know what you are capable of. If you think about it, and put all of your energy towards it, then it will happen.”
“Okay, don’t mean to be an Isabel here, but what?!” Maria asked yet again.
“Okay Maria, change the color of this ketchup just as Isabel did a few years ago. Just focus your mind.”
Maria grabbed the bottle of ketchup, and 10 seconds later it turned a white color.
“I did it! Damn I’m good!” She yelled.
As Liz was about to speak the front door slammed open.
“Max?” Liz called.
Two figures walked through the front door, and Liz recognized them immediately. It was Tess and Nicholas.
“Alex! Maria! I hope you guys can focus your minds quite easily because we have trouble!” Liz yelled as she ran back in the kitchen.
“What? What is it?” Alex asked.
“You two need to teleport out of here. Now!”
Alex saw what she was talking about and nodded to Maria. The two quickly disappeared.
“Alex! Maria! What’s going on?” Max asked as he ran up to the two.
“Tess...and Nicholas. They came to Michael’s. We, we teleported out of there.” Alex responded as he tried to catch his breath.
“Where’s Liz?” Max yelled.
“I don’t know! I thought she would have been here by now!”
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:35:31 PM
“You mean you guys left without her?” Max asked.
“She told us to teleport out of there. Oh my god Max, I think she’s going to try and take care of those two by herself!” Maria cried.
“Why would she do that? She’s smarter than that!” Max said sticking up for Liz.
“Max, think about it would you? Tess has her baby. What would you do if you had the chance to be alone with her?” Alex questioned him.
“You’re right. Well, we learned how to use or other powers, so I’m going to go help her.”
“Max, I don’t think that’s a good idea.” Isabel objected.
“I don’t care! I’m not going to take a chance and possibly let her die!” Max finished as he teleported, leaving the four of them there speechless.
“Why Liz, I didn’t know you had it in you.” Tess said while smiling.
“Have what in me?”
“I didn’t know you would want to fight this battle alone. You do have guts after all.”
“Yeah, well why don’t you do the same? This is between us Tess. Not Nicholas!” Liz was hopping she could get him to leave. She knew what she was doing, and knew that Max would show up any minute now.
“Fine.” Tess agreed “Leave us alone Nicholas.”
Nicholas opened the door and left.
“Where’s my baby?” Liz yelled.
“He’s safe...for now.” Tess replied.
“That’s not what she asked.” Max cut in.
When Tess turned to see who it was, he brought his fist down across her face.
“What the hell Liz? You said this was between us!” Tess yelled out in pain as she held her face protectively.
“It is. It’s between you and us, as in Max and I. You took our child Tess. Not just mine.”
Tess raised her hand and Liz flew back against the kitchen counter.
“Stop!” Max yelled as he closed his eyes. Tess fell down to the ground immediately.
“Max, are you okay?” Michael, Maria, Alex, and Michael asked as they ran into the house.
“Is she dead?” Michael asked pointing to Tess.
“No she’s not.” Max answered.
“Then kill her! What the hell are you waiting for?”
“I have a better plan as to what to do with her. Besides, she still has our kid remember?”
“Max, speaking of your kid, where is the mother Liz?” Maria asked concerned for her best friend.
“Oh my God! Liz!” Max yelled as he ran to the floor where Liz laid in a pool of blood. How could I forget about her? Max thought to himself.
Max gently lifted Liz and saw where the blood was coming from. She flew back onto a knife that went through the middle of her back.
“Max! Is she okay?” Alex asked in disbelief.
Max tried to speak through the sobs that escaped his throat.
“She...she’s dead.” He slowly replied.

“What? Oh my God! Liz!” Alex yelled out in horror.
“Remain calm you guys.” Maria said with sadness in her voice.
“What are you talking about Maria? I can’t heal her. She’s already dead. You of all people should be upset.” Max cried out.
“I am upset, but I won’t be for long. We can use those rock thingy’s that we used before. We can bring her back Max.”
“Maria, those only work on aliens.”
“Yes, I know that. And I think you’re forgetting one minor detail. We are aliens as well! Remember?” Maria questioned.
Max shook his head and picked Liz up.
“Let’s get to the pod chambers. I want this done now. I need her back.”
The 5 of them loaded Liz into the car and took off.
As they walked into the chambers they set Liz down on the floor gently.
“Let’s get this over with.” Max said desperately trying to concentrate.
Ten minutes went by, and still they were unable to revive Liz.
“Something’s wrong. Someone here isn’t putting his or her full attention towards this.” Michael thought out loud.
Everyone took a quick glance over to Max.
“I’m trying, I really am. It’s just...look at her. She’s so helpless.”
“Max, get a hold of yourself. If we don’t do this right then you will never be able to hold her again.”
Michael knew it was hard on him, but he really needed to concentrate. Liz was becoming more of a sister to him each and every day, and he didn’t want to lose her any more than the rest of them.
Max nodded his head telling everyone to continue. After six minutes everyone heard a gasp. Max looked up and saw Liz trying to sit up.
“Here baby, let me help you up.” Max said as he quickly rushed to her.
“Max? What happened? Where am I?” Liz asked in a soft voice.
Max started crying all over again as he pulled Liz into a tight hug.
“Max?” Liz asked confused.
“Oh Liz, you were dead! Tess killed you a-and we brought you here. We used the healing stones to bring you back.”
“Max, baby, calm down. I’m here now. It’s okay. Everything’s okay.” Liz pulled Max into a tight embrace and sat there for a few minutes.
The tow turned around to see the rest of the gang standing there with tears in their eyes.
“You guys!” Liz yelled as she ran and gave each of them a hug.
“Liz! We thought we lost you!” Alex yelled as he let go of her tight embrace.
“It takes a lot more then that to get rid of me.” She joked.
The six of them loaded into the vehicle and headed back to Michael’s. As Liz walked into the kitchen she saw Tess sitting in a chair bound and gagged. She walked up to her and punched her across the jaw.
“Bitch!” She yelled. “Where’s my son?” Liz questioned as she tore the tape away from her mouth.
“Ouch!” Tess yelled out in pain. “Be a little more careful would you?”
“Excuse me? Be a little more careful? After you tortured me, and stole my baby you want me to be careful? Yeah, right, Tess. Whatever you say.”
Liz turned towards the others.
“Leave us you guys. I want to talk to her alone.”
“Ah, Liz?” Maria was about to protest, but Liz interrupted.
“I said leave. Don’t make me ask twice.”
The five of them began to leave the room when Liz spoke again.
“Max, where are you going? You need to stay here as well.”
Max stopped dead in his tracks and smiled at Liz. He was glad that Liz wasn’t going to do anything alone. When the others were gone she focused her attention back to Tess.
“Where’s my son?” Liz asked in a cold voice.
“Why would I tell you?” Tess asked curiously.
“Because if you don’t you’re as good as dead.”
Liz knew Tess wasn’t that dumb, but she spoke the truth.
“Do you honestly think I’d fall for that? I’m not dumb. I finally figured out who you are Sandra.”
Max looked at Liz curiously.
“Sandra? Who the hell’s Sandra?” Max asked.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that to Max didn’t I? Liz thought to herself.
“You mean she didn’t tell you Max?” Tess snickered. “Liz is Sandra, your chosen one back on our home planet. You see, I was never meant to be with you. When I found out I talked to her and tried to make her leave. Get out of your life. This stupid girl decided not to, so I had her killed. How quickly I had you wrapped around my finger after that. I can’t believe she didn’t tell you though. I mean, she’s known about her other identity for awhile now.” Tess said as she smiled knowing that she got to Max.
“Is this true Liz?” Max asked. “Did you know about this?”
When Liz didn’t answer he spoke up again.
“I can’t believe this Liz. When were you going to tell me? Why did you keep this a secret?”
“Because I’m a human! This is all not happening! I’m not Sandra, I’m not one of you. This is like a big dream that I want to wake up from now. I want to go home, sit in my bed, and write in my journal again. I want things to be normal. I want my life to be normal.”
Liz didn’t know why she had just said that. It wasn’t the truth, and it wasn’t how she was feeling. She loved Max with all her heart, and wanted nothing more than to live the rest of her life by his side.
Max turned around and ran out the door with tears running down his face. He didn’t know what else to do. If she wanted a normal life then he had to get as far away from her as possible.
When Liz saw him run, she immediately chased after him. When she finally caught up to him she grabbed his arm and turned him around so he faced her. Max pushed her hand away from his body, and a startled Liz moved back a few steps. They shared a look of regret before Liz turned and ran back inside.
Max sat down on the wet grass and regretted what he just did. Why am I pushing her away? He thought to himself. He finally stood up and walked back towards the house.
He called her name as he entered the door. To his surprise he saw Tess with a huge cut above her eye that was causing blood to drip down her face. He turned to his left to see Liz sitting on the couch crying.
“Liz, we need to talk.” He said as he took a seat next to her.
He grabbed her and pulled her to his chest, half-expecting for her to pull away, and half expecting to get hit. To his amazement she did neither. Instead she leaned into him crying uncontrollably.
“Max, I never wanted to fight. I never wanted to keep this from you. I wanted to tell you, I really did. It’s just that I had so much on my mind. And I didn’t mean what I said earlier. It just came out. Please forgive me.” Liz pleaded as she looked down at her hands, unable to look Max in the eye.
“Liz, look at me.” He told her as he gently lifted her chin. “There’s no need to apologize. I over reacted, and took the news the wrong way. I got upset when I should have been excited. I mean you really are my destiny, and this all proves what I was trying to tell you a little over a year ago. We really are meant to be, and I think it’s time we make it final.”
“Final?” Liz asked confused.
“Liz, I’ve had something planned for awhile now, but I could never find the right time to ask.” He got down on one knee and pulled out a small velvet box. As he opened it Liz’s mouth dropped. “Liz, will you marry me?” Max asked.
When Liz didn’t say a word Max felt a little dumb. Maybe this isn’t the right thing to do at this point in time, Max thought to himself. He began to close the box when Liz noticed the look of defeat on his face.
“Max, I’d love to marry you.” Liz said as she threw her arms around Max.
“Liz?” Max asked.” I don’t mean to ruin the moment, but what are we going to do about Tess? And what happened to her eye?”
Liz smiled and replied. “When I came back into the house she told me how she finally succeeded in braking us up. I got pissed at hit her yet again. Only this time I did it with this hand.” Liz lifted her left hand to show him that she had on a ring with a sharp edge. “And I have my own little idea as to what we’re going to do with her. Just trust me on it.”
“Of course I will.” He took he hand and led her back to the kitchen where a bleeding Tess sat.

“What’s your plan?” Max asked Liz in a low whisper.
“You’ll see.” She replied as she slowly closed her eyes.
Liz knew she had more powers then any of the others did, and she planed on putting them to the test. She got into Tess’s mind unlocking every bit of information she could. She knew if she stayed in there long enough then the person’s mind that she was unlocking would die. They didn’t have enough energy to keep fighting her, so Liz hoped that she could get the information she needed in as little time as possible.
Tess killing her in her past life
Tess torturing Max until he finally died.
Tess kidnapping her son
Tess hiding her son under the old factory with no blankets or security.
Tess talking to her son. “It’s okay sweetie. Mommy’s here and nothing’s going to happen.”
Liz came back to reality and looked up to see Tess was close to dying. Good, Liz thought. With a little rest she’ll be good as new. I don’t want her to die that way. Not with what I just saw. I want her to go through the same pain I’ve been put through.
“Liz? What just happened? What did you do?” Max asked as he hugged her tightly.
“I’ll explain on the way to the old factory.” Liz said as she grabbed the keys to the jeep.
“Why? What’s there?” Max asked curiously.
“Our son.” She replied as she opened the door.
Max quickly followed her and hopped into the jeep. He grabbed the keys from Liz and started the car. The two took off in silence.
Half way through the trip Liz decided it was time to tell Max what she just did, and what she just saw.
“Max, what happened back at Michael’s house was simple. I entered Tess’s mind to gather as much information as I could. The only problem was I had to rush. You see if I were to stay in there to long then she would have died. That doesn’t sound too terrible, but I don’t want her to die that easily. I want her to suffer as much as she made us suffer. I saw how she killed me, killed us back on Antar. I saw her telling OUR son that she was his mother. She has him locked up under the old factory with no protection Max!” Liz began crying uncontrollably.
Max pulled over to the side of the rode. “Liz our son will be okay. I promise you that. He knows who his real mom and he will be back in our arms soon. Your only problem is choosing a name for him.” Max gave a weary smile hoping that his words would calm Liz down a little bit. To his surprise Liz leaned over and gave him a tight smile followed by a passionate kiss.
“I love you so much Max. You always know what to say to calm me down, and I can’t wait until we are married. You, me, our baby...nothing will ever come in between us again. Now let’s go get our son.”
They pulled up to the old factory five minutes later and Liz practically jumped out of the vehicle.
“Lead the way since you know where we’re going.” Max said as he walked to the other side of the car.
Liz grabbed his hand and led him to a stairway.
“Down here.” She said as she led Max down the dark and musty room.
When they reached the bottom of the stairs Liz immediately ran to a little baby carriage in the middle of the room.
“It’s okay sweetie, mama’s here.” Liz said in a whisper as she held her son for the first time.
Max sat and watched Liz cradle their son. We can finally be a real family, he thought to himself. Liz walked over to Max.
“Here’s your daddy little guy.” She said as she handed him to the love of her life.
Max cradled his son as a tear slipped down his cheek.
“Brian.” Liz said as she smiled.
“Brian?” Max asked curiously as he looked around the room. “No one’s here but us Liz.”
“No Max! Brian is going to be the name of our son. It means ‘Strong One.’ I think it fits perfectly considering what he’s been through the first week of his life.” Liz looked up at Max with questioning eyes wanting to know if he approved of the name or not.
“I think it’s perfect Liz. Brian Evans. Besides, he’ll be a king someday and I want him to live up to that name.” Max said in a jokingly tone.
The two shared a smile and got back into the car.
“Max, do you think you can stop by the Crashdown?” Liz asked.
“Yeah, sure.” Max replied as he continued driving.
As they pulled up to the restaurant Liz unbuckled her seatbelt.
“Did you want me to go in there with you?” Max asked with concern in his voice.
“No, I’ll be alright. Stay here with Brian.” She replied as she opened the double doors.
She saw her ‘parents’ cleaning the counters after a long day of work.
“Mom? Dad?” Liz asked as she took a seat in one of the booths.
“Yes dear? What is it?” They both asked as they took a seat next to her.
“I...I have something I need to tell you guys.” She said as she looked down at her hands.
posted on 6-Sep-2001 5:37:10 PM
“Okay sweetie. You can tell us anything.” Her mother said wondering what was on her daughters’ mind.
“Okay. I’m going to be saying a lot of things that won’t make sense, but I need you to let me finish before you say a word. First of all...I was pregnant.” Liz paused hoping her parents would say something right there, and they did.
“You were pregnant? With who’s child? And what happened? Did you have a miscarriage?” Jeff asked, as the tone in his voice became more serious.
“I was pregnant with Max’s son, and no. I didn’t have a miscarriage. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy a little over a week ago.”
Nancy’s mouth hung open, as did Jeff’s.
“You see, I’m not from around here. I discovered what my past was and I want to tell you...I need to tell you, but it’s not that easy. I need to know that you won’t tell a living soul. If you do then you’d pretty much be signing away Max, Isabel, Michael, Maria, Alex‘s, and my life away.”
“Alex? Liz are you okay? You know that Alex died awhile ago. Don’t put yourself through all of that pain again.” Nancy said as she cut Liz off.
“Mom! Let me finish please. If you don’t then I may not have the courage to do so later. Alex never died. He was sent away by someone who wanted us all dead. The six of us aren’t from here...here as in Earth. We come from a place called Antar, and where that is I don’t know. It’s up there somewhere. I was called Sandra, and Max was known as Zan. He was a king and he and I were very much in love.”
Max walked through the doors holding Brian close to him. Nobody saw him come in so he stood in the corner letting Liz finish what she was saying.
“Max and I found each other again in this lifetime and we’ve had our share of problems. It started that day when a fight broke out in the Crashdown, you know, when everybody thought that I was shot. The only thing is, I was. I was dying until Max came up and saved me. He healed me and risked his own life by letting me in on his secret. Things got worse from there as our enemies began moving in on us. So far we have fought them all off, but more still come after us day by day. I found out what I was not to long ago, and I freaked. Then I came to realize that it wasn’t that bad. It meant that the love of my life and I were really meant to be together. That no matter what would happen, he’d still be by my side. I could die tomorrow, and I’d die a happy person. Why? Because I got to be with Max. I got to have his child and got to spend every single day with him. Nothing could make me happier then waking up and seeing his beautiful face right next to mine. That’s why when he asked me to marry him I said yes. He even got tortured for me. Nobody will ever make me feel more loved then he does, and I can’t see living one day without him. I know that I’m not your birth-daughter but I grew up with you guys. I love you and I will always love you. That’s why I was hoping that you would walk me down the aisle and accept Max and Brian as your family as well.” Liz was crying uncontrollably as she looked up at her parents waiting for a response.
Nancy was the first to speak.
“I don’t know what to say...” She began as Liz interrupted her.
“I understand. I’m sorry for bringing all of this up to you guys. Good-bye.” Liz began walking towards the door as she felt a pair of arms grab her.
As she turned around she was greeted by a hug. She looked up and noticed it was her father.
“Liz, you don’t need to apologize. I mean it will take me awhile to get used to what you just told us, but I can’t lose you. You are still my daughter and nothing will change that. I would love to walk you down the aisle.” Jeff finished as Liz hugged him even tighter.
Max took this opportunity to leave while he still could without being seen.
“As much as I’d hate to do this I really have to go. We just got Brian back and we still need to make a stop at Max’s house. We have to have the same talk with them.” Liz hoped that they would understand.
“Sure. Would you mind if we all had dinner here tomorrow night? I mean you, the Evans, and everyone else that knows about your little secret? I’d love to start all over.” Nancy asked as she walked over to Liz.
“I would love that.” Liz replied as she hugged her parents and walked out of the restaurant.
She walked towards the jeep and hopped in.
“Max, you won’t believe how my parents....” Liz couldn’t finish the sentence because Max’s lips came crashing down over hers.
“What was that for?” She asked as they slowly parted.
“I heard everything Liz. I walked in there to see how you were doing and I heard your speech. I love you so much and can’t wait until our wedding.”
Liz blushed at what she just heard. “I love you too Max.”
The three of them slowly made their way towards Max’s house.

“Liz, would you come in with me?” Max asked wanting to do this together.
“You know I will.” Liz said as she grabbed Brian from the back seat.
“Mom, Dad!” Max yelled as he entered the house with Liz and Brian right behind him.
“What is it Max?” Diane asked as she walked into the kitchen.
“Can we all have a seat? I need to tell you guys something.”
With that said his mother and father took a seat across from Liz and the baby. Max sat down next to Liz and placed his hand on top of hers.
“First of all I would like you guys to meet Brian.” He said as he gently took the baby away from Liz.
“How cute! Liz is he your baby cousin?” Diane asked curiously.
“Umm...no Mrs. Evans. He’s not my baby cousin. He’s my son.” Liz said proudly.
“You see mom and dad, this is our son. He was born a little over a week ago. The reason why he’s not in the hospital is because it’s not needed. You guys always knew that Isabel and I were different then the rest of the kids. We’ll, what you didn’t know is that so are our friends Michael, Maria, Alex, and Liz. We aren’t from around here. Truth is we’re from a place called Antar, but we have no clue where that is. We just know it’s somewhere out in the solar system. I know this is a lot to take in but you can’t tell anyone. Our lives depend on it, and so does yours. Back on Antar I was known as Zan, and Liz was known as Sandra. I was a king as she was to be my queen but our enemies got a hold of us and killed us. My mother took our essence and mixed them with human DNA. I proposed to Liz and she accepted. I was hoping that you guys would still love us, as we do you and come to our wedding.” Max looked up into his parent’s eyes.
“Max, I don’t know what to say. I knew you were different, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined this. I do love you just the same though, and I would love to come to your wedding.” Diane said as she threw her arms around her son.
Phillip didn’t take the news to well and had a different opinion of it all.
“Max I don’t know what to say. You’ve kept this secret away from us all these years, after everything we’ve done for you. Then you tell us this information and say that we can’t say a word about it or our lives will be in danger as well? I don’t accept it. Diane, I’m going to bed. I’ll see you in the morning.” With that said he got up and left the room.
A tear slipped down Max’s cheek after hearing that his father didn’t accept him.
“Mrs. Evans? My mother told me to invite you guys to dinner tomorrow night at the Crashdown. I was hoping maybe you could make it.” Liz said trying to change the subject.
“Yes Liz I think I can make it. We don’t have any plans tomorrow night.” She turned to face Max. “I’ll talk to your father. I’m sure it was just too much information to take in at such a late hour. I’ll see if he will go as well tomorrow night. I think I’m going to go to bed now. I’ll see you later Max.” Diane hugged her son before they left the house.
Liz put Brian in his car seat before sitting up front with Max. He put the keys in and drove back to Michael’s. Everyone was sleeping over at his house for the night, which didn’t leave too much room.
When they entered the house they noticed everyone asleep in the living room except Maria.
“What are you still doing up?” Liz asked in a whisper.
“I was waiting for you guys to get home. Give me Brian and you guys can take the bedroom.”
“But where are you going to sleep Maria?” Liz asked curiously.
“I’m going back to my house for the night. It will give me time to pack some things up. Besides, I think it would be better getting him away from Tess for awhile.”
Liz just remembered that Tess was still in the kitchen. She looked over and noticed that she was still knocked out. Good, Liz thought. That will give us till the morning to deal with her. She turned back to Maria.
“Are you sure? I mean I don’t want...”
Maria cut her off.
“Yes I’m sure. He’ll be fine, I’ll be fine, we’ll all be fine. Now go in the bedroom before I change my mind. It seems that Max has already disappeared on you. Good night Liz.” With that said she and Brian quietly left the house.
Liz walked to the back room where she and Max were supposed to sleep. There in the middle of the bed she saw Max curled into a little ball.
“Baby, are you okay?” She asked as she made her way to him.
She sat down on the bed and he settled down next to her with his head in her lap.
“Liz, what am I supposed to do? My father hates me.”
“Max, don’t say that. Don’t even think it. He’s just had a long day and didn’t know how to respond. I know he loves you and so do you. Deep down inside you know that he would do anything for you. As would I.” Liz said as she placed a small kiss on his temple.
Max sat up and looked at Liz. He smiled and placed a strand of hair behind her ear.
“You always know what to say Liz. I love you so much. If you ever left then I don’t know what I would do.”
“I love you to Max. And I would never leave you. I didn’t in our past life, and I won’t now. You mean everything to me as well. If something were to ever happen to you then I would just die. Life wouldn’t mean a thing to me anymore. Now let’s get some sleep. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”
Max smiled and lied down on the bed. He grabbed Liz and pulled her towards him. She placed her head on his chest right next to her hand and took a deep breath. She loved the way Max smelt. They fell asleep thinking about each other.
Morning came quickly and Max was the first one to wake up. He ran his fingers through Liz’s hair and accidentally woke her up.
“Good morning.” She said as she slowly sat up.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake you.” He said as he leaned over and kissed her.
“It’s okay. I’m glad you did. It’s no fun watching me sleep. What time is it?”
“Oh sure it is. You look so adorable. It’s 7:30.” He replied.
“Oh yeah, I’m just so adorable this early in the morning. Especially with my hair such a mess!” Liz joked as she ran her fingers through her knotted hair.
Just as Max was about to reply they heard Isabel yelling.
“Max! Liz! Get in here now!”
The two quickly jumped out of bed and ran into the living room.

“Isabel? What is it?” Max asked right before he tripped over the rug.
Liz couldn’t help but smile as she helped him up off the floor.
“It’s okay Max, breathe. I was just calling you guys to let you know breakfast is ready.” Isabel smiled knowing that she worried her brother.
“Isabel! I’m going to kill you!” Max yelled as he started chasing her around the house.
Max came to a sudden stop when Maria held something in front of his face. As he readjusted his eyes he noticed it was his son.
“Now Max, no running in the house. What kind of example are we trying to set for young Brian here?” Maria asked with a smirk on her face.
Max grabbed Noah from Maria and handed him to Liz. He then started chasing Maria until he had her trapped in a small corner outside of the house. He grabbed the hose and turned the water on drenching Maria.
“Now we all know that Brian is to young to understand any of this.” He then turned around heading back towards the house. “By the way, if you’re going to wear a white shirt then make sure you wear a dark colored bra as well.” Max said as he made his way back inside.
Maria looked down and noticed that her shirt was now completely see through. Oh great, she thought, now I get to put on a show for everyone. This will certainly be a story that Brian never gets to hear about.
As she walked back in the house everyone turned and looked at her. Laughter erupted in the small room as Max threw her a towel.
When Maria saw that Michael was also laughing she went up and gave him a hug completely soaking him as well.
“Now who gets the last laugh?” She asked as she made her way to the couch.
She wrapped the towel around her chest and looked at Michael. He had a defeated look upon his face that quickly disappeared, as he looked down at the plate of scrabbled eggs in front of him. He took a handful of the eggs and threw them in the direction that Maria was sitting. Maria ducked and the handful of eggs landed on Liz’s face and lap.
“Michael!” She yelled as she handed Alex the baby. “I’m going to get you!”
She went to the kitchen and grabbed the squeezable bottle of ketchup. She popped the lid open and turned around squeezing the bottle. Michael moved to the side quickly and the ketchup landed in Max’s silky hair.
“Max! I’m so sorry!” Liz said while trying to hold back a laugh.
“It’s okay.” Max reassured her as he pulled her into a hug. As they were holding each other Max ran his hand through his hair and gathered some of the ketchup. He then pulled away and smeared it all over Liz’s face.
“Max! What was that for? I didn’t do it on purpose!”
“Shh, just watch.” He grabbed her hand and led her to the bathroom.
They took a long hot shower together and decided it was finally time to get back to the gang.
“Max, wasn’t that great?” Liz asked.
“It sure was.” Max said with a smile on his face.
“Max Evans! I was not talking about the shower. I was talking about out there. Being able to let loose once and awhile.”
“Oh, yeah, I knew what you were talking about.” Max felt a little embarrassed but didn’t think any more of it. He knew she had a great time at both of the events. He grabbed her hand and together they walked out into the living room.
“Oh my god! What happened?” Liz asked as she looked around the room.
There was flour all over the carpet mixed with water, which made a sticky paste like substance. Spread out on the couch was what breakfast was supposed to be, and their four friends sat on the floor drenched in syrup.
“Well, things kind of got sticky while you were gone.” Isabel, Alex, and Michael laughed at Maria’s statement.
“Where’s Brian? Please tell me he’s clean!” Max asked as he looked around the room.
“Don’t worry. He fell asleep so we put him in the bedroom.”
Liz got Brian, as Max picked up the keys to his jeep.
“Where are you guys going?” Michael asked as Max and Liz made their way to the door with Brian in their arms.
“We’re out of here. We didn’t make this mess, and we’re sure as hell not cleaning it.” Liz said as she closed the door behind her.
The four friends sat there looking at each other wondering how long it was going to take to clean up the room.

Later that evening at the Crashdown...
“Okay, so whom are we still waiting for?” Nancy asked referring to the dinner.
“Jim Valenti, Michael, Maria, Alex, and Isabel.” Liz quickly replied as the doors slowly opened.
“The highlight of the party is here!” Maria yelled as she walked and took a seat in one of the booths. Behind her were the other four friends looking extremely exhausted.
“What’s wrong with you guys?” Liz questioned them as they pulled up a seat next to Maria.
“Well, you know that mess you two left us to clean? It took four hours to get everything straightened up. Besides that Maria wouldn’t help so we called Jim over. He was willing to help for a small favor.” Michael replied as he gave Maria a dirty look.
“Well, what was the favor?”
“The boys will take Kyle out so I can have dinner with Amy next weekend.” Jim said with a smile on his face.
“What? You guys should have told me what the favor was! I would have cleaned my ass off instead of having him and my mom eating dinner together!” Maria yelled as she hit Michael’s arm.
“Well, I guess it slipped my mind.” Michael shot back.
Liz turned to Jim. “I have one question. Where is Kyle?”
“Oh my god! I totally forgot to invite him! Let me call him up.” Just as Jim was dialing the number to his house the door opened, and Kyle walked through.
“You’re lucky I listen in on some of your calls dad.”
“You what?” Jim asked furiously.
“Yeah, you heard me right. Hey DeLuca...you might want to start praying.”
“Why?” Maria quickly asked.
“Because these calls my dad and your mom make are hot! I won’t be surprised if you and I are related by this time next year.”
“Eww. Just do me one favor ‘Dad’ no other children. I don’t want you and MY mom that close.” Maria said a little disgusted.
Nancy came and took a seat next to Jeff.
“The food will be done shortly. Why don’t we just talk for now?” Nancy asked making sure it was okay with everyone else.
“Yes, I think that’s an excellent idea.” Diane agreed.
“Now Liz, I want some things straightened up. How did you have that baby so soon? I would have noticed you getting bigger.”
“Well mom, I got pregnant a month ago. You see our bodies are different then yours. After a few weeks we go into labor. I did while I was under one of my enemy’s power. She kidnapped our child, and we just got him back two days ago.”
“And how long have you known that you were a...a alien?” Jeff asked his daughter.
“Look, here’s the story. Two years ago there was a shooting at the Crashdown, as you all know. I was shot, but Max healed me. He risked his life for mine. Then Sheriff Valenti kept trying to discover this secret that all of us were keeping. He began to trust us, hoping that we would trust him in return. Max was then captured by a guy named Agent Pierce and was tortured until we rescued him. Kyle was shot by Pierce, and Valenti asked Max to help him out. He did, and Valenti was very grateful. We started working as a team and things were finally calming down a little bit. I got a visit from a future Max, and he told me that I had to make him fall out of love with me. That our lives, and everyone else’s depended on it. He told me that Isabel and Michael had died before he came to me, and I didn’t want to see that happen. I couldn’t let that happen, so I pretended to sleep with Kyle. It worked and Max and I drifted apart. Then Alex died, and we were against each other. Max, Isabel, Michael, and Tess stayed together as Maria, Kyle, and I did our own thing. We believed that aliens caused his death, and they didn’t believe us. Then Alex came back into town telling us that Tess mind warped him because he decoded the translation book. That’s when we found out who we really were.” Liz took a deep breath as this information sunk in.
“Liz, that’s a lot to take in, and I don’t know what to say. I do accept this because I don’t want to lose you. You are my daughter whether we gave birth to you or not. I’m just going to need time to comprehend all of this.” Jeff said as he smiled at his daughter.
“Max, I agree with Jeff on this one. Even though your father didn’t show up, I’m still behind you. I love you and nothing will ever change that.”
The doors opened just as Diane finished her sentence. In walked Phillip Evans wearing a smile on his face.
“Dad?” Max asked, “What are you doing here? I thought you didn’t accept who and what I am.”
“Max, I just needed some time, and I still do, but nothing will change the time that we’ve spent together. You are an amazing young man, and I want to watch you grow old. I hope you’ll forgive me for the way I treated you yesterday.”
Max smiled and gave his dad a hug. Phillip looked at Isabel and nodded his head. She then got up and ran to her father as well.
“Oh dad, I’m so sorry we didn’t tell you guys sooner.”
“Sorry to break up a Kodak moment, but...ah hell, no I’m not. Elizabeth Parker, last night you told me that you were going to marry Max. Didn’t you?” Nancy asked her daughter.
“Yes I did. Why?” Liz asked confused.
“Because I won’t allow it.”
“What?” Liz yelled.
“I said I won’t allow it. This is all to...to crazy! And this Tess person, where is she at?”
Liz looked into her mother’s eyes and noticed something different. What were normally deep brown eyes now had a tinge of hazel in them. Something was going on, but she couldn’t quite figure it out.
“We have her someplace where she can’t cause any more damage. Why?” Liz asked cautiously.
“Because I’m your mother damn it! I want to know.”
“Mrs. Parker, please calm down. We don’t want to put you guys in any more harm, so we aren’t going to give out that bit of information. There may be people looking for her.” Michael stated trying to calm things down a bit.
There may be people looking for her. That sentence ran through Liz’s mind a few times. That’s it! Yesterday my mother asked me to invite everyone who knew about out secret. Not just those that we talked about. Then today she has an attitude and the color of her eyes are slowly changing.
“Max, how are you feeling right now?” Liz asked as she took a step back.
“I’m fine. Why?”
“Because this isn’t my mother. It’s someone looking for Tess.”
Just as she said that the figure that was once her mother, was now a tall man. He took off and ran out the door. max was about to follow when Liz stopped him.
“Not mow Max. I...I’ve seen that man before. Oh my god! He’s the one that killed me back on Antar!”
The rest of the gang was up and ready to fight since they were used to this kind of thing happening daily. On the other hand Jeff, Diane, and Phillip were speechless. They didn’t how to react with what they just witnessed.
“Shit!” Max said under his breath as he grabbed Brian.
“Umm...you guys? I know this is a really bad time, but we have to go before something happens. Everyone is going to stay here except Max and I. We have something that needs to be taken care of. Michael, Isabel, Maria, and Alex can secure the house. Nobody will be able to get in or out.” When Liz finished her sentence she began to walk to the door.
“Did you guys want us to watch Brian for you?” Maria asked.
“No. We’re going to take him with us. I don’t want anything to happen to him. Besides, we need to spend more quality time with him. Here’s our chance. Sort of.” With that said Max, Liz, and Brian left the Crashdown leaving the rest of the gang to explain what the hell just happened to their parents.

The drive to Michael’s was short considering Max drove as fast as he possibly could.
Liz barged into the house carrying Brian in her arms. She walked straight passed the kitchen towards the bedroom.
“Liz, where are you going?” Max asked.
“Brian needs to be changed. His needs come before mine.”
“Here. Let me do that. I know what you need to handle.” Max grabbed Brian from Liz, kissed her on her forehead, and walked to the back room.
Liz walked over to Tess. “Where the hell is my mother? What did you do to her?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tess replied
“The guy that killed me back on Antar. He came looking for you and disguised himself as my mother. Where is she? What did he do to her?”
A worried expression took over Tess’s face. “He knew where to find you?”
“Yes he did!”
“Is Brian okay?” Tess asked.
“Cut the crap Tess! Why are you so concerned all of a sudden? And yes, he’s fine. The guy saw him but didn’t do anything.”
“Oh my god. He doesn’t know. You guy’s have to get out of here.”
“What? Why? What’s going on?” Liz questioned.
“Look, the Tess you guys know is gone. She’s dead. I don’t have time to explain. The guy is here looking for me, so he can kill me and my son. Brian isn’t yours. He’s mine. Why do you think you found out about the pregnancy a day after you and Max slept together? And how do you think you went into labor not long after? Tess lied to you. We may be aliens, but we go through the whole cycle like the humans do. My child was implanted into your body a few weeks before it was due.”
“No, I don’t believe you!” Liz yelled out.
“Really? Tell me Liz, do you feel close to your child? I bet you’ve been feeling like a bad parent because you haven’t spent to much time with it. Now please untie me so I can get out of here with my son. If you don’t then more of your family will die.”
Max walked out into the kitchen, carrying Brian close to him. He saw Liz untying Tess and asked what was going on. Liz didn’t reply, but instead walked up to him, grabbed Brian, and handed him to Tess.
Tess turned around and walked out of the house.
“Liz! What did you do? You gave our son to Tess?”
“Max, he’s not our son. Just trust me on that. And that isn’t the Tess we know. She’s dead. Just like my mother!” Liz began crying.
“Liz, what are you talking about?” Max asked.
“Max, my mother died! Wait, the healing stones. That’s it!” Liz began walking to the door.
“Liz.” Max said as he put his arm in front of her, “We can’t use the healing stones. They only work on aliens, and I obviously can’t heal her if she’s dead. I’m so sorry.”
Liz spoke when reality finally hit her. “I don’t know how to tell you this, but I can’t marry you. I wanted my mother’s blessing, but now I can’t have it. I’ve been losing everything, and it’s just too much. I’m so sorry.” Liz fell to the ground crying.
Max reached out his hand to touch her, only to have her pull away. Max couldn’t take it anymore. He too was losing everything. First Ms. Parker, who was always nice to him and his family. The his son, and now Liz. He grabbed his keys and left the house.
Liz saw Max leave, but didn’t do anything. She figured he needed some time alone. She stood up and decided to go explain everything to her family and friends.
At the Crashdown 10 minutes later.
“Liz! Is everything okay? Where’s Max and Brian?” Maria asked as she saw her best friend walk in.
“Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Evans. I have something I need to tell you guys. First of all there’s no easy way to say this...mom’s dead.”
Everyone’s eyes widened at her statement. Jeff broke down into tears and ran upstairs. Maria, Michael, Alex, Kyle, Jim, and Isabel were speechless. They didn’t know what to say, as did the Evans.
“And Max and I aren’t getting married. He ran out of the house before we had a chance to really talk about it. I’m really sorry you guys. I love Max with all my heart, but I really needed my mother there.” As Liz looked around at all of the saddened faces she became sick to her stomach. “I’m sorry. I...I have to go.” With that said Liz ran out the door.
One-by-one people began to leave the Crashdown without saying a word.
Later that night....
Liz woke up sweating and scared to death. She just had a dream and saw Max get shot by they guy who was looking for Tess. Normally her dreams don’t get to her, but this was so real. Almost as if she was there watching it. She picked up the phone and dialed the Evans house.
“Hello?” A sleepy Isabel answered.
“Isabel, this is Liz. Did Max ever come home?”
“No he didn’t. We don’t know where he is.”
Isabel was met with a click on the other line. Liz got dressed and ran out of the house. She drove West for 15 minutes before pulling over.
“Max! Max where are you?” Liz yelled out.
In the corner of her eye she saw a figure lying on the floor.
“Max!” She yelled as she ran over and kneeled beside him.
He was shot in the stomach and was losing a lot of blood.
“Max hang in there!” Liz yelled as she lifted his head off of the dirty pavement.
She heard a noise to the right of them so she slowly turned around. There she saw the guy holding a gun. He lifted it towards her, and she screamed.
The gun suddenly flew out of his hands, and he turned to see what had happened. Standing there was Tess.
“It’s over James.” With that said she lifted her hands, and he became dust.
“Tess?” Liz questioned.
“Please don’t call me that anymore. Call me Lydia.” She walked over to Max and placed a hand over his wound. Within a matter of minutes he was healed, and Lydia was gone.
“Max!” Liz yelled as he began to sit up. She threw her arms around him and began crying.
“Liz? What are you doing here? How did you know where I was at?”
“I had a dream. It was so real, and I knew something was wrong. What were you doing way out here anyway?”
“I got upset and I needed to leave for awhile. I mean first I find out that my son isn’t really my son, and then you leave me. It was too much to handle, and I couldn’t deal with it.” He replied.
“Max, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I really didn’t. I was just upset at losing my mother that nothing seemed right.” Liz lifted Max’s chin so that he was looking into her eyes. “I do love you. Nothing will ever change that. And when you ran out of my house I knew that I made the biggest mistake of my life. If you still want me, then I would love to marry you.”
“Still want you? Liz, of course I do. You mean more to me than anyone ever will.”
“Then let’s go.” Liz said as she began to stand up.
“Go where?” Max asked.
“Let’s go get married.”
“You mean elope?” Max questioned.
“Yes, I mean elope. I know that I wanted this big wedding with all of my friends and family, but this seems right. Every time we try and plan something it always gets ruined. I don’t want that to happen. I’m tired of that happening. I’m sure everyone will understand. So what do you say? Will you marry me tonight?”
Max looked up at her to see if she was serious or not.
“I’ve been waiting for this moment all of my life. Let’s go get married.”
With that said the two left, and headed for the nearest chapel.
“No, I don’t know where Liz is. Maybe she’s with Max?” Maria responded to a worried Jeff.
“No. I already called the Evans and they don’t know where their son is. Isabel talked to Liz not to long ago, but she didn’t tell her where she was going. Please call me if you hear anything.”
“Okay Mr. Parker.”
“Bye.” Maria said as she hung up the phone.
“Who was that?” Michael asked her as he walked out of the restroom.
“That was Jeff. He doesn’t know where Max or Liz are. I’m worried Michael. Do you think they’re okay?”
“I’m sure they’re fine Maria. It won’t do us any good if we worry. Let’s just sit by the phone and wait until something pops up.”
3 hours later at Michael’s house.
“I’ll get it!” Maria yelled as she walked to the door.
When she opened it she saw Max and Liz smiling. Maria quickly lifted her hand, and hit both of her friends across the head.
“Ouch! Maria, what was that for?” Liz questioned as she stepped inside the house rubbing her head.
“For not telling me where you were going! What happened? I was worried sick, not to mention your father.”
“I’m sorry! Then I guess I shouldn’t tell you what we were doing then...right?” Liz joked around. She knew her best friend had to know everything, and that it would kill her not to find out.
“Chica, you better tell me!” Maria said through a smile.
“Max and I eloped.”
Right when those words escaped Liz’s mouth, she regretted it. Maria hit her across the head again, only twice as hard.
“Maria! Now what was that for?”
“You got married! Without me as your bridesmaid! What were you thinking?” Maria asked.
“Everything has always gone wrong when we tried planning. This was the only way to have things work out for once. Besides, you know I wanted you there, so don’t give me that ‘but I’m your best friend’ crap.”
“Okay.” Maria said as she pulled Liz into a hug.
“Hey, congratulations Max.”
“Thanks Maria.” He replied.
“Liz, phone call, line one.” Michael said as he walked into the room carrying the phone.
“Umm, Michael? You only have one line” Liz replied as she took the phone from him.
“Oh yeah...well just take him off of hold then.”
“Liz, where have you been?” A very worried Jeff asked.
Liz began to explain everything to him, and told him that she would be away for the next week. She explained why, and he said it was alright with him. She hung up the phone and tossed it back to Michael.
“We’re leaving for a week.” Max finally said.
“What? Where? How can you two leave at a time like this?” Maria yelled.
“Maria, put the claws away and listen. It’s out honeymoon time, but things aren’t really looking to good. So what we’ve decided to do, is go to the Grand Canyon. I’ve been wanting to go there ever since I was a little girl. We know we can’t leave all of you here...so you’re coming with us. The thing is rooms will be paired off. You and Michael in one, Isabel and Alex in another, Jim and Kyle in another, and the parents will all stay together in one on the first floor. Our room, however, will be in a suite.”
“Why can’t we have a suite?” Maria asked innocently.
“You can have a suite when you get married.”
Maria shot a glance at Michael.
“Oh no, don’t even think about it DeLuca!”
Max and Liz shared a laugh when the door burst open.

“Did I ever tell you guys how much I love you?” Kyle asked as he walked into the house carrying two suitcases. Behind him was Alex, Isabel, and Jim.
Isabel shot Liz a glance before smiling. “Welcome to the family.” She said before pulling Liz into a hug.
“Okay, this is the plan you guys. Michael, Max, Maria, and I will be in one vehicle...Kyle, Alex, and Isabel in another...and then all of the parents can ride together. We will leave first thing in the morning. Any questions?” Liz asked.
“Um, yeah. When are the Evans and Mr. Parker arriving?” Alex questioned.
“Tomorrow early morning. Probably around 6.”
Everyone found a place to lie down, and went to sleep.
The next morning...
Everyone was positioned in his or her vehicle except for Michael, Maria, Max, and Liz. They couldn’t decide what seating arrangement was to be made.
“Max.” Liz whispered in his ear. “I really think you should sit up front with Michael.”
“Why? I wanted to sit in the back with you.” Max replied with a smile plastered to his face.
“Max, I don’t think that’s a really good idea. I mean, we wouldn’t want Michael being distracted while he’s driving, now would we?”
Being defeated, Max hopped in the front seat, while Liz positioned herself in the back with Maria.
“This is so great Liz! Although, I can’t believe you’re a married woman now. This changes everything.” Maria said while looking out the window.
“Maria, how does this change everything? I’m still the same old Liz.” She responded.
“No you’re not. We can’t talk about guys anymore, we can’t have our girl’s night out, we can’t...we can’t do anything fun anymore.”
“Maria! Would you calm down? I’m married, but I’m not dead! I can still do all of those things with you.”
Max turned around after hearing this.
“Umm...Liz? I don’t think I like the idea of my wife talking about other guys.”
Liz smiled before replying. “Max, don’t worry. I’m not interested in anyone but you. You’re it for me. Now would you turn around so us girls can talk?”
Max smiled and turned around. He loved how Liz could joke around, and still be so sweet.
Michael rolled down his window, feeling the need to spit. He turned his head, and let it go. Right when he did we heard Maria scream.
“Maria, what’s wrong?” Liz asked concerned.
“Damn it Michael! My window’s open, we’re driving, and there’s a wind...and you decide to spit out the window? It flew all over my face!” Maria shouted as she grabbed a tissue.
“Maria, I’m so sorry. But is it any different then when we kiss?” He began to laugh after he finished his sentence.
Maria hit him across the head, causing the car to swerve.
“Yes you’re right Michael. You are a very sloppy kisser. Thanks for reminding me.”
Liz couldn’t help but giggle.
They were a hundred and ten miles away from Flagstaff Arizona, which was where they were staying, when the vehicle suddenly broke down.
“Shit!” Michael yelled as he got out of the car.
There were tons of people on the road, so they couldn’t use their powers to restart it.
“Max, I think we need to call a tow truck...the rest of the gang is already ahead of us, so we can just meet them at the hotel.”
Three hours went by before the tow truck finally arrived.
“About damn time.” Maria muttered to herself.
The tow truck lifted the vehicle up, and let the party of four remain in it. The reason behind that was because there was only room for one other person inside of the tow truck.
“Hey, look at the bright side you guys. At least we get to see the view from way up here. Now all of us can relax, and do as we please.” Liz said trying to brighten the mood.
“Is it just me, or is this tow truck going extremely slow? I mean look, all of the other vehicles are passing us up with such ease.” As Max finished his sentence the tow truck pulled off of the road.
“What’s going on?” Michael asked as the driver of the truck came up to his window.
“I’m not too sure, but it keeps straining. I think were going to have to pull over in the next town.” He said as he walked back to the truck.
It took him five tries before the truck began running.
He pulled over into the next town, which happened to be Seligman.
“Max, I’m going to go in the restroom and teleport to Isabel. You know, let her know what’s going on. Don’t let anyone come into the restroom.”
“Liz, why don’t you just use the lock?”
“Because there isn’t one. Now help me out.”
She walked into the bathroom, while Max stood guard.
She was suddenly in a moving car seated next to Kyle.
“Holy shit!” Alex yelled as the car swerved. “What’s going on?”
He noticed Liz in the front seat, and figured it out.
“Is something wrong?” Isabel asked worried.
“Nothing but car trouble. We’re back in a small town called Seligman waiting for a tow truck. We just wanted to let you guys know we’ll be a little late.” Liz warned her.
“Why don’t you just use your powers?” Isabel questioned.
“Yeah Is, that’s intelligent. Why didn’t I think of that? Oh yeah, because there are people around us. I’ve got to get back before things look suspicious. Bye.” Liz said as she slowly disappeared.
When she reappeared back in the bathroom she noticed Max sitting on the floor.
“Max, why aren’t you outside watching?” Liz questioned.
“Because this lady kept hassling me. She said that if I wasn’t going to use the bathroom then I should leave. So, I came in.”
Liz smiled and reached for his hand. Together they walked out of the small restroom.
The lady waiting outside had an angry expression plastered to her face. “Damn kids can’t wait until they’re in a room.” She mumbled under her breath.
“Where were you guys? The new tow truck’s been waiting here forever!” Maria yelled as her two friends rejoined the group.
“We had to notify Isabel of our little problem.” Liz answered.
“Oh...Oh....” Maria said as she caught onto what Liz meant.
“Well, let’s go.” Michael said as the four of them approached the vehicle.

An hour-and-a-half later Max, Michael, Maria, and Liz walked into the lobby of the hotel.
“It’s about time!” Isabel shouted as she saw the rest of their party arrive.
“Yes, we did have a pleasant ride. Thank you for asking Isabel.” Michael replied sarcastically.
“Okay, well I think we should just go to our rooms. I’m tired as hell, and don’t really feel like doing anything right now.” Maria said as she walked off.
“Maria! Wait up, I don’t have a key to our room!” Michael yelled as he chased after her.
“What’s wrong with her?” Isabel asked as she picked up her luggage.
“To make a long story short...Michael spit on her.” Liz replied.
“I can tell someone’s going to be sleeping in the hallway tonight.” Alex said as he pushed the button to the elevator.
“Maria! Please open up!” Michael yelled as he banged on the door to his hotel room.
“Go away!” Maria yelled back at him.
“I didn’t mean to spit on you, and you know it!”
“I know that part, but you still made a joke out of it afterwards.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Maria, I’m sorry. But is it any different then when we kiss?” She replied.
“Oh...that.” He replied.
“Yes that! Now leave me alone! I don’t want to see you! I’m going back to Roswell first thing in the morning!”
“Maria, please don’t do that! I don’t want you to go. I’m so sorry if I hurt your feelings. I never meant to. It’s just that this is all so new to me...like I told you before. You are the first girl that I’ve ever dated...and you’re the first person that I ever fell in love with. Please don’t leave me now. Don’t give up on me. Please? I realize that I’ve put you through so much, and I’m sorry. I don’t know what I would do without you...please don’t go.” Michael said through sobs, as he slid down the door, to the ground.
Maria slowly opened the door and grabbed Michael’s hand. She led him into the room, and shut the door. She wrapped her arms around him, and refused to let go.
“Michael, don’t cry. Please? I’m not going anywhere. What you just said...that was...it...you were the first person I ever fell in love with as well. It’s just that...that...with what you said I thought that maybe...just maybe...you weren’t interested in me anymore.” She replied honestly.
“Maria, I could never lose interest in you. Don’t even think that!” Michael traced her cheekbone with his thumb, and then slowly placed his lips over hers. Maria deepened the kiss, and then led him to the bed.
“Max? Max what’s going on?” Liz asked worriedly as she watched her husband grab his head in pain.
“What?! What do you want now?” He yelled out.
“What’s going on? Why are you so mad?” She asked trying not to cry.
“You’re always bugging me Liz! Can’t I have a little peace every now and then? Why can’t you just back off?”
Liz couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. She tore the wedding ring off of her finger, threw it at Max, and ran out the door.
Max fell back to the floor and grabbed his head. “What the hell just happened?” He questioned out loud. He looked in his hand and saw the wedding ring he gave to Liz.
“Liz!” He called out as he ran out the door, but it was to late. He saw the elevator doors closing. He quickly ran to the staircase, hoping he could reach her in time. He saw Liz getting off the elevator wiping off the tears that fell down her delicate face.
Max ran up to her and grabbed her arm.
“Let go of me!” Liz yelled out when she realized who it was.
“Liz, just listen to me.” Max pleaded.
“Help! Help me!” Liz called out, wanting to get away from the man that just broke her heart.
A police officer approached the two and asked Liz what was going on. She lied to him saying that this man grabbed on to her, and that she didn’t know who he was. The officer hand cuffed Max, and put him in the back of the car. Liz watched as they drove off.
‘What are you doing Parker?’ Liz thought to herself. ‘Evans...I mean Evans. I’m married, and whether I like it or not right now...that’s your husband! Go after him. Get him out of jail, and then you can leave...go out and do whatever you want...by yourself.’
Liz drove to the city jail, and it took a lot of work to get Max out. She simply told the officer that she had been scared out of her mind and didn’t recognize her husband. He didn’t believe her, but he let Max out. If she didn’t want to press charges then it was her decision. Max and Liz left the area without a word said.
“Where are you going?” Max asked her when they were outside of the building.
“I don’t know! Anywhere that’s away from you!” Liz replied trying not to cry all over again.
“Liz, please don’t go. That wasn’t me back there. Something took over me...made me say those things. I love you! You know that! I would never, ever say those things to you! You mean everything to me, and I can’t lose you. Please trust me?”
“But-” Liz began.
“He’s telling the truth.” Someone said as they walked out from behind a wall. Liz saw a baby in their arms, and she immediately knew who it was.
“What are you talking about Lydia? And how did you know we were here?” Liz asked.
“Liz...what’s going on? That’s not a Lydia...that’s Tess!” Max said worried that something was going to happen.
“Max, when I know everything I’ll explain it to you. I don’t even know the whole story yet...but this isn’t Tess. Lydia has helped out a few times already.” Liz replied.
“Liz...Max...there’s something I need to tell you, but not here. It’s not safe. Is there someplace we can go?”
“Yeah, sure, follow me.” Liz answered, and together the four of them left for a safer place to talk.
